    Greetings,

I have had issues with fact that filament overlabed on the roll, meaning that the entire extruder assembly was dragged to the top of the printer. Here is a picutre of how that looks, i did not realize what happened. And when i cut the filament the entirething dropped down, i dont see issues with the bed. However

Everytime i try to "home the Z axis now the printer moves upwards, but 1

Does anyone know how i can solve this problem, Is there a way i can see the status of the switches as seen form the software, if this is related to the endstops.

if i press that the printer moves up by ~10mm

    Thank you Mark,

I checked the switches for connectivity, and the switches work, eg they change state when i press them, forgot from what state to witch, but it works.

I have included pictures of the switches and carriage, to get verification, when i lift the carriage i can hear them click.

My concern is that something is loose on the controller board, as moving all the way to the top caused the limit switch cables to be extended.

Is there anyway i can read the status of the swiches, so that i know what the software thinks they should be?

    Sure
from the TERMINAL in whatever software you are using issue this GCODE:

    M119

This returns the current state of the configured X, Y, Z endstops. Takes into account any 'inverted endstop' settings, so one can confirm that the machine is interpreting the endstops correctly.

The pictures look fine so you may have broken a wire or pulled a wire loose from the RAMPS board underneath.
If they are reporting any as open then pop the bottom cover off and make sure they are landed on the RAMPS correctly.

Yes, it is likely given what you experienced that all three were simply pulled off of the RAMPS.

Here is the diagram of the RAMPS you need to land them where it calls for ENDSTOPS (top right in the picture). Polarity is irrelevant (they are switches) but getting them on the correct ones is important (X to X, Y to Y, Z to Z).

    Thank you,

Looking at the board, i can see that the z limit switch seems to be connected to the board.
I did check continuity on the cable at the connection with the female dupont connector, and i could if i pressed both switches break the continuity, so they must be in parallel.
So what is then wrong, is the carriage unalligend? so that only one button is pressed.
