I have some sort of calibration issue that I can not seem to fix. I can not get pieces to fit together correctly when they print apart from each other. For instance I tried to print a box with a hole for a switch and an outlet on different size. One hole was on the Y axis the other on the x. Both vertical and both printed like ovals. I can add pictures if i need to for further explanations. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you'd got a loose set screw on one of your axis pulleys. Tighten them up

Did they print oblong in the Z axis (up and down)?

I would say oblong in the x. So they are short and wide ovals. i also just tightened both y and x axis pulley gears and they were already both super tight.

Is the Z height correct? If you print a 10mm tall cube, is it 10mm (or whatever size you chose).

Well that's the problem, it is off by 3mm on a 20 mm test print, so 15% undersized on the z. So how do I fix that?

Thanks for the help so far.

Without knowing for sure what exact printer you have it sounds like the incorrect firmware is loaded. There was a very short stretch when Robo's came misconfigured during the transition from 5/16" threaded rods to 8 mm threaded rods. Do you know for sure which version of the printer you have?

I am not 100% sure, but I have had the printer since april of 2015, and from my understanding it has always been off as I am describing in the thread, just didnt really notice because I just printed trinkets, but not trying to print functional things, or fit things together from my 2 printers, I have noticed the problem.

So most likely an R1, but not an R1+
If you bought it new, from Robo.

None of the models have any really reliable markings.
The R1+ is a rather new recent change.

Hopefully with the R2 and later they will get batter about labeling :)

You can count the number of threads in 1" of your threaded rods to determine if you have 5/16" or 8 mm. Maybe one of the old timers can recall how many threads each version had, or you could search the forums.

8mm threaded rods. Sounds like a regular R1.
