Hello all .. been having a tough time with my Robo lately.
Replaced the adrino board hoping to solve an issue that was causing erratic
movement causing the print head to dive down in to the print..
Now after doing my y axis upgrade and adding the heated print bed I think I put a nail in its coffin.
started a print and it ended up diving down in to the print again so I did an emergency stop.
now I cant. control movement manually anymore. it will not go up or down and when I tell it to go left or right or back or forth it will judder and sometimes move like it is 10 commands behind.
I think the extra current of the heated print bed killed it.
can someone give me the part number for the RAMPS board?
    or a better RAMPS board.
I am done troubleshooting . the boards are not that pricy and I just want to get my printer working again.
    John

Any RAMPS 1.4 board. Be sure to get the 5 Stepper driver cards (the little daughter cards) with it or you will need to transfer those over.
Oops, I guess you only need 4 of those :) mine had the 5th one. Still, you can buy it as a bundle with the RAMPS board (heck for like 65 bucks you can get the Arduino Mega also).

What you describe I find difficult to blame on the ramps board itself. Possibly one of the driver daughter boards is faulty or maybe the 12v power supply is not holding voltage.

Suggest you check the 12v is there and holds even when the bed and extruder are switched on.

    Sounds like a firmware issue.

What you're trying to do is replace the cars computer when it's probably a faulty fuel pump. I can't think of any logical reason why a ramps board would go bad. They're pretty simple circuitry.

What firmware does it say you're running?

replaced the ramps board and everything is functioning . have not done a print but am 99% sure that was the problem.
amazed at how much quieter the motors are now.. there was defiantly something wrong before

While it very well could have been one of the stepper driver daughter-cards, you nuked it from orbit with a new RAMPS :)

If you get interested in repairing the old one, the daughter-cards are like 10-12 bucks each (or less). Glad it is working again.
