So far I've been printing mostly with MatterSlice which has actually been working pretty well but now I wanted to try Slic3r since it gives you the option of using no raft but still having a brim. For some reason though, the printer will barely extrude at all with the extrusion multiplier of 1.05 that I had set for MatterSlice (which was working well). I've gone through all of the other settings and they all seem to be the same as well. I can't even get it to print a test cube to calibrate and no matter what I change the extrusion multiplier to, it looks like crap - either too much or not enough. It seems strange to me that the extrusion multiplier would be different depending on the slicer anyway. Does anyone know what's going on or what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Attached is a photo of what I'm getting when I use all of the same settings that worked great for MatterSlice

Another thing to try is Repetier host.
If you want to use Slic3r that is the more 'native' UI for it.
    Sadly, MatterControl sometimes falls down.

Yes, I've tried switching back and forth and MartterSlice always works and Slic3r doesn't.

Are you using the slic3r program or the option inside matter control?

When i used the different options when I used matter control none worked except matter slice. If your interested in different slicers I would download the slicer itself and try them. Matter control is...glitchy :)

All of the free ones have hidden 'gems', some just have more than others.
Slic3r (with Repetier host) used to be the most reliable of the lot. Others have improved (Cura for example) and gotten good.
All of them are Open Source. This is a good thing if you have a good team behind it. The firmware in the printer is OS as well (Marlin).

You may never encounter an issue with the OS slicers, but if you do you can switch to another and try it. Eventually you may outgrow them.

Thanks for the answers guys. I'll try some of the other slicers and see what works best.
