    HI & Help!

I just got my RoBo 3D R1 Printer. Installed Matter Control and drivers. I am able to connect through Matter Control but nothing else. I try and start a print job - no response... I try the manual controls for X,Y,Z - no response.

I did not get any errors
    Windows 7
    Matter Control v 1.2.3

Com 5 details: Arduino Mega 2560 using Arduino Driver 1000

    Thanks in advance!

Install the arduino ide software from arduino.cc and while its installing be sure to tell it to include the drivers.

Then update the driver so it says arduino mega 2560

Try different software too (like Cura or Repetier)

    Hi,

I installed the arduino ide software and manually selected the mega 2560 driver as you suggested. Unfortunately... now the Matter Control software just hangs 'connecting...' without ever connecting.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

What happens in repetier host or cura? Try deleting your matter control profile and make a new one. Tell it to do manual connection and verify its selecting the right com port

    Hi,

I uninstalled all the related software, powered down, restarted and installed the software and drivers from scratch.

With Matter Control - it just hangs when I try and connect...

With Repetier I got the message "commands waiting". If I try to start a print job it reads "waiting" and just hangs...

With Cura - I try and connect the printer - it says "opening serial port" and after a bit say "closed"

Device Manager - reads Arduino Mega 2560 on the Com and for the driver it reads Arduino Mega 2560...

I have tested the USB cable using it for a printer and it was fine...

It is a bit frustrating as it can't seem to connect no matter what I try...

    Any suggestions?

If you've got everything connected and installed, it sounds like there might be a bad USB port on your Robo.

Have you submitted a Support request through the main website?

Unlikely daniel because the computer is recognizing the arduino. Either a usb cable (which he replaced) or a computer issue

    Hi...

Well some good news... I installed the 8mm firmware and now it shows being connected but I have no response through any of the controls.

I have also replicated this on my laptop as well - same response with both... that makes me think it might be a RoBo issue... Should I start a support request? If so - can I just refer them to this thread?

If I can flash the firmware on the RoBo - wouldn't that indicate that the USB port is ok???

    <-ok

    No, no response at all...

no response to any movement commands through Matter Control or to requesting preheat extruder or bed... but it does indicate the temperature of both... if that helps any

Power is set to 110 - the first thing I changed :)
LEDs - inside USB are - yellow LED is on (it goes off when the unit is not connected through MatterControl)
    - power LED - green is on
    - bed lighting LEDS - blue are on
