Obviously the 4 LED one is the only way to go, because... reasons.

I haven't a picture with attach details, but it's a Plug (without screw), the FAN it's a normal 40x40x10 mm 12V, buyed on ebay.

In the next release, I want to use a super ultra quiet fan, LED with a closed angle (to illuminate only the extruder) and a single screw to fix the unit to extruder block...

Are the LED's power from the same cable the powers the fan. Can I use the same cable that powers the standard smaller fan that comes with the robo with the hexagon hot end. Could you show a picture with a different angle, I'm having trouble seeing where the fan attaches and how it is positioned to attach to the hot end

    Hi Robert,
The LED and the FAN are powered both by fan cable (always on), tonight I complete the new version (with a closed angle for LED to light only the extruder point), a new mechanism for fix the unit... and explain the exact circuit...

I have attached 2 new picture for explain how is lock and relative connection.

For LED question, I have used 4 led (5mm) blue, connected in series with a single resistor (220ohm) directly to power fan.

I found a problem with the fan support because in high Z position, the fan touched the case of R3D.
This new version does not create any problem and has the same characteristics.

    New version available on http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:602682

I tilted the fan in my designs to reduce back pressure, but case clearance wasn't a design concern for me though it's something I want to revisit. There'd be an increase in back pressure with your revised design though to what extent I don't know, it would still perform sufficiently.
