"Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey" means absolutely nothing to me. Look at a clock: The hand moves to the right until it moves to the left.
I use the literal rule of thumb. Make fist in right hand, point thumb in direction of desired movement, fingers describe the proper rotation.
Oh, I've got some gloves that can handle the temperature if I slip.
The major issue is me picking up hand tools.
I know what needs to be done. I know very complex things you can do with hand tools. But just like I could never get results in Chem Lab that in any way match our physical world, nor can I effect any decrease in entropy using my hands and tools.

I had the probe crashing at 1st or 7th point problem and opened a ticket. They decided it was a faulty IR sensor and sent me a new one. No problem since installing it.
