Hello all, check out this problem I am having:

I am using an R1 with simplify3D (the stock software is rubbish, but thats another story). When I tell the printer to extrude on command, it extrudes fine. When it starts printing, it will feed for a little, but then it stops and the hobbed bolt starts chafing away at the filament, EVEN THOUGH IT WORKS FINE ON STAND ALONE EXTRUDE COMMAND.

    How can this be possible?

I am getting incredibly frustrated. How can ROBO sell a printer that you might as well have made yourself, considering every single critical aspect of the printer they sell needs to be upgraded at one point.

Please help me! I have lost two full days of work figuring out why this printer is just....not printing. It was working fine last week! Ahhhhhh!!

Is your hot end fan running? Sounds like a jam

Which fan? The angled fan blowing at the extruding tip, or the tiny tiny box (possible a fan) outside of the 3d printed shroud that goes torwards the heatsink?

I agree. Is this PLA? Have you perhaps seasoned the hotend? That cured jams for me (with PLA).
If the hotend fan is off then jam-city.

Yea... MatterControl has a ways to grow.

    Hello there fellow motorcycle enthusiast,

How do I go about seasoning the hotend? I put a little wire down the feed hole and pulled it up scooping some plastic each time (did not have a thin enough gauge of wire). It is PLA, althought 3 spools of ABS just came in today (if it starts printing again -___-).

What are these two wires, and are they supposed to be connected?

Yup looks like they got pulled out during unboxing. Just plug them in to the two end connectors (not the middle) on the switch

Thanks for all the advice so far. Black wire to the wall, red wire towards tray?

yup. Guilty. Spend way too much money at the track.

PLA is all that needs seasoning, but it will not harm any filament type.
In fact, I installed an oiler to do constant seasoning.

    To season (a one-off):
    1) remove filament and heat hotend (leave the feed section opened up)
    2) take a 6-8" chunk of filament, dip the end in canola (or vegatable) oil
    3) manually push it through the hotend.
    4) repeat #3 several times.
    5) reassemble and go for it

you will need to re-season periodically (I never got a good response on how often, which is why I went for an oiler).
