    At that point why not just get a break out board for just the stepper drivers and plug it into an old computer?

    I was wondering myself, if it is possible to connect two arduino boards together. One as a master and the other a slave, in order to increase the number of axis.

    Really don't need two arduino boards. More axes could be added by using some of the unused digital pins. You would need more stepper drivers (maybe by connecting a second RAMPS board)

    The Fastbot BBP controller obviously has more processing power than the Arduino but I think the claim that you can print 4x faster needs some qualification. For example it is not the Arduino limiting the Robo top speed. The mechanics and getting the plastic down are more limiting factors than processing speed.

    I will look at it by the weekend. I am finishing up the new (old) Robo, the DLP and about a dozen other projects.
