I have printed in both PLA and ABS, used PLA since I started printing and have just recently switched to using ABS with my E3D V6 after a very bad jamming issue. I have had no problems with the ABS jamming as to be expected and have had decent success printing ABS aside from larger prints I am currently working on.
Due to the properties of PLA not warping, or at least no where near as bad as ABS I would like to make these larger parts in PLA and am hoping for some possible advice on trying to keep the filament from jamming like it did before.
    Thanks!

Exactly what happened to me. PLA was fine, went through some other materials on the nozzle and when I went back to PLA... Jam City.

After you made the oiler did it solve most of your issues with the PLA jamming so much?

I have not had a clog or a jam since.

Well, unless I let the oiler go dry for a long time :)

You do not use a lot of oil. After coming out of the oiler the filament should have a slight sheen on it.

I would be lost without @mark tomlinson lol. He is huge help to us all.

I use canola oil in my oiler. 6 drops for a new sponge then 3 drops....whenever i happen to remember

Lol mine is dunk the sponge then squeeze it out. run it until dries up and starts having extrusion problems again then re-do.

So you use a sponge instead of cotton ball?
Does the PLA just punch through the sponge?

I cut the spong down and fold it around the filament then push into the oiler. I dont use a cotton ball not that you cant

Either would work. I reamed a hole through my sponge with a small round file thing.
Couldn't find a sponge one day and used a paper towel.

I almost always forget to put the oiler on so now I just use a alligator cloths pin and piece of sponge.
