Answered Poor print quality

    I'm trying to print a small part that's just not working. It looks correct in MatterControl, but it prints as if the perimeter is placed but not supported by internal layers. In the photos you can see terrible coarseness on the outside, and from the inside, it looks like it printed higher on the perimeter than in the center.

    This part is about 3/4" across in PLA, at 200 degrees. I was getting poor results in MEDIUM mode, and this print was done in FINE mode.

    Try running your model through netfabb, microsoft azure or some other repair software

    If it is really small it might be printed too hot, or not enough time for the layers to cool some between extrudes. MatterControl should have a minimum time per layer setting for slowing down the print
