    Hello
So I printed this object 4 weeks ago with PLA black on 230 nozzle temp and heated bed of 50...today I noticed there was white film rubs off like fine powder on the the base of object. I checked the other prints and they also have it only on the side that touched the bed.
Only parts I printed after adding oiler have this... What is it... Is it safe and why?

Probably something with the filament (and I suspect it is safe) or residue from something that cleaned the bed?
Oiler didn't cause that (I use one with all PLA) unless you are using some weird oil :)
Other than that seeming to be a bit on the hot side I see nothing wrong.

What adhesive are you using on your bed? What type of oil are you using? Like Mark, I use an oiler without this issue. Just 100% canola. I also just use hairspray on the bed. Try cleaning the bed and see if there isn't something odd built up on it.

I just use a heated bed to stick my PLA print, and I use only canola oil for oiler...granted in the beginning I used way to much oil

Do you see this will all types of filament and colors or just a specific roll or make? I've never tried a bare bed print before with PLA. I normally just use a thin layer of hairspray for insurance.

I have not printed with another roll yet, just comparing prints made before and after adding oiler

What are you using to clean your bed? Have you done it lately?

I use rubbing alcohol and paper towel and wipe the bed after each print.

I use this stuff and wow the printer is quieter and smoother..

Problem with cooking oils is that it get's sticky and does the opposite of lubrication after a while.
Go look at your deep fryer and you will see what I mean..
Bio.. Oh and if you get some on you.. it has no taste.. :p

Hey @Pergo I think @Magnumr is talking about Canola in a filament oiler, not as a general lubricant.

I haven't noticed any residue on mine. The hairspray does seem to leave a slightly milky film, but the oiler itself adds nothing.
If you are doing it right none of the oil makes it past the nozzle anyway :) or at least, really very little.

Ditto with @mark tomlinson . The "glaze" from hairspray on my prints I use windex on a rag and wipe it off the print
