I bought a used R1 from a guy we set up and printed great.
I brought it home installed the software and thought I'd print the calibration circle.
I brought the bed and extruder up to temperature and started loading the PLA in.
Some of the previous color we had used started coming out of the nozzle when all of a sudden it shut off.
Now it won't come back on. I unplugged and plugged it back in, tried the on/off switch switch a few times, but nothing is helping.
    It's dead.

    Any and all help appreciated
    Tim

What errors are displayed in the GCode terminal for whatever software you are using?
I assume you are using software via the USB cable, but you didn't say so you could even be doing this all from an LCD controller :) More details please.

I'm running it from the computer.
Where would I look for error codes?

Whatever software you are using should have a GCode terminal. Connect to the printer and open that up -- watch it for errors as you send commands to the printer.

I'm using MatterControl 1.5 which shows it's connected. It's reading the bed and extruder temps which are with no power going to them low.

This is what I'm getting, but being unfamiliar with it I'm not seeing anything awry.

And it turned itself off while you were attached that time? So the log covers a power down?

Not that I can tell. According to what I'm seeing the computer thinks everything is OK.
I read somewhere that the RAMPS boards can sometimes have a overheating problem and had they maybe someone in the forum had had that problem since unplugged from the computer it still won't come on.
I also had wondered if uninstalling/reinstalling the software might help.

No this is not a software problem.
Does it recover if you unplug the power from the wall and the computer from the USB and then restore power and USB?

Nope. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in and flipped the on/off switch half a dozen times and it won't even light up the led light strip.

Maybe the fuse blew? Sorry I haven't read the entire thread so ignore me if that is not it.

That A/C fuse is a jolly good suspect since the arduino will happily power up off of the USB.

Turns out it was a brand new defective power cord where it plugs in the wall.

    Thanks
