I did, not from a 3D scan but actually... um, I exported a sim from The Sims 3 in the likeness of someone, made it manifold, and printed it. Came out okay - needed to be printed larger to be able to see the detail, and needed to be printed with support as the chin was too much of an overhang and ended up with a whole bunch of dropped loops that made him look like a bearded zombie missing his lower jaw... I also print faces quite often and they come out beautifully - I find they print best if they're tilted back so that the forehead and bridge of the nose are sort of flat, like the face is looking up - otherwise you need support on the face and it's hard to remove completely/cleanly.

Do you have any pictures, AutopsyTurvy? I'd love to see them, and I'm sure Jack would as well.

    Here ya go, Bamhm182:

That's the first bust - as you can see, it needed support. :) It's just a tiny little thing, only a few inches high. I just printed another head last night so as soon as I'm done cleaning the support off, I'll snap some photos of it as well. :)

Yup, no jaw bearded zombie bust. I can totally see it.

Other than that though, nice work! Can't wait until I get my printer.

Snapped a pic of all the heads I've done thus far. The pink one is fresh off the printer with some minimal sanding and was printed basically straight up and down, so the whole underside of the chin and stuff is reaaaaally rough. Blah.

The yellow one, you can see a little bit on the forehead the layer lines from being printed tipped back, with the very top layer right under the pink doll's hand. The grey one was printed the same way but has been sanded and primed several times so its layer lines aren't really visible. The white one was printed in two halves split down the center and glued, but no sanding after that... Usually minimal sanding/filling will make this line nearly invisible.
