Printer doesnt move at all when it gets to the desired temperatures but just sits in the home position and software says its printing.

This has happened to me in the past when printing smaller objects (~3mm walls) with a low infill setting. If i keep the infill up around .25-.3 everything seems to print fine.

Also check the communications log. Make sure no errors are reported.

Is the communications log the g code terminal?

It'll now move but when goes to do z calibration it doesnt touch the bed. I had it dialed in yesterday with height but not its not the same.

Do you have autolevel turned on within MatterControl? If so disable it.

Under configuration automatic print leveling should be disabled.

Using a piece of paper lower the nozzle just until you can barely touch the paper. With the stepper motors disabled/power off you should be able to slide the carriage back and forth without a change in height on the paper.

This will improve the reliability of the autolevel sensors.

It looks like your printer might be angled slightly so your switch isn't making contact.

Otherwise it could be a firmware issue.

I turned autoleveling off and it fixed z height problem, did a print and then had filament grinding issue. took filament out and cut off the grinded part now running another cycle to test.

Was it too low? You still need a Z offset or else the filament won't be able to extrude and grind down.

Start with a simple object like a calibration cube.

is there a way to do all nine points of calibration manually? be a whole lot easier than this. Been messing with this for 2 days no. So much for turn key operation.

Just a shot... when I set my temps outside the firmware range, the software would say it was printing but it wouldn't. Changed my firmware to allow .. whatever temp I was trying.. think It was too low.. (black pla). it would do the g29 then stop.

Problem now is that its laying down inconsistent layers. did it fine for calibration cube now i go to print my design and its to low. I redo the 3 point z height calibration and to low still. the nozzle isnt allowing filament to come through on first layer just pushing it around.
