Title pretty much says it all.

I get SD read fail (or whatever it said) in the terminal as a response.

Wouldn't be a big deal, but I want to make some 12-24 hour prints, and printing from the PC directly, it freezes after about 4-5 hours. Froze like that with the OEM firmware as well, but running from SD card was fine.

Does this (non-functional SD card printing and freezing after running x hours) from both S3D and MC.

Now, I get no SD card printing :(

    Any thoughts?

    Reformat the SD card
    Try a different SD card
last option, add an LCD Display with a new SD Card reader :)

Under warranty omit the last step and ask for a replacement part.

    Format SD card: no good
    Different SD card: Nope

I get that the SD card is OK when I power up and connect, but it spits back a "open failed" message.

What type of file are you putting on the sd card?

I dont know that anyone has used the OEM sd card with the mesh leveling procedure but didn't robo have some goofy way of initiating the start ? I'm not a fan of the OEM SD Card reader, well worth the upgrade to the full LCD

In S3D, just exporting to SD card instead of printing over USB, like I've always done.

I'd really rather not shove another $100 plus on this machine just to have the SD print feature working again, but I understand that it may be a bug in the mesh firmware.

@Rat_Patrol The only thing that it might be in MESH is if the SDSUPPORT is not enabled, otherwise it works for me. I made sure it was enabled, it is in Configuration.h.

If it is enabled, then double check that the ribbon cable is still plugged in and in it's proper location. Otherwise it might just be a bad SD Card socket.

Ribbon cable looks good, the board will show what files I have on the card, just fails when I try to print from SD card.

I would advise trying it with the 1.0 version of the firmware to insure that it is a hardware issue (although I think we are pretty sure it is).
The Sd card reader like the factory one is cheap (or under warranty have them replace it):

Make sure your card is not a class 10, the cheap components used may choke on faster SD cards. I saw a few comments on other forums that said switching to a class 4 SD card fixed all their SD issues.
