No i didnt get a chance to update the firm ware all i did was i put paper under the magnets in front and did a paper level and now if i home one axis at a time the x and z work ok but when i try and home y standing at the front of the machine the table just moves forward a tiny bit and if i hit home y again it just moves forward alittle more like its just jogging and i can keep doing that untill it gets all the way to the back and it still calls it y 0

Then you have a problem with the Y home switch (under the bed) take a look and make sure it is not getting blocked or pushed by something else (like a wire)

When that switch trips that is Y 0
No matter where it really is.

Maybe your switch is disconnected? or pressed?

it never really goes to the limit switch and bounces back like the others do

then something is miswired with the Y limit.
Either it is always on or off. Check it out. It is the one under the bed.

Because it thinks it is already hitting the switch I bet.
Lift the bed up and review the wiring to the switch.

So with the bed at what it thinks is home use the GCode terminal and enter this:

    M119;

tell us what that reports (and where the extruder is actually positioned on the bed)

OK THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A SHORT OR SOMETHING BECAUSE ITS WORKING NOW QUESTION THE G CODE FOR HOME IS NOT G28 RIGHT
BECAUSE WHEN I DO THAT IT PUTS THE EXTRUDER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TABLE AND WHEN I SAY HOME WITH THE PROGRAM IT GOES TO THE LIMIT SWITCHES

And where did you get that "stock" firmware from exactly?

be specific as to WHAT you downloaded and installed.

That is strange because when i just push the home button it moves to the limit switches and when i manualy type in g28 it does its homing moves then moves to the center of the print area from home and puts the tip on the table
im trying a print right now

If you loaded the wrong firmware then odd things will happen.
The switches for the X/Y/Z define the home and that is the only position the printer actually "knows" everything else is math.

i purchased this 3d printer used i got home and purchased simplified 3d and then i had to install only the usb driver so the printer would show up and then i used the setup wizard in simplified 3d to select the robo3d r1 with autoleveling from the list of profiles in the program to get all the right settings

and thats it ive been trying to get it level enough to get it to print nice ever since

OK, good then at least that can be removed from the list of possible problems :)
There are several different versions due to the fact that there are several (4 now, soon 5) different flavors of the hardware.
