Answered Second extruder not showing temperature, and extruders are not heating up

    I installed a ramps 1.4 board and I've had many problems, most of them have been solved, there are just two left. I have installed two extruders the second extruder thermistor does not tell the tempurture its just zero, and the extruder that does tell the temp does not heat. Help

    Likely the wiring to/from the RAMPS or (in the case of the thermistor) a bad one.

    Look at the GCode terminal for any errors as far as the extruder not heating.

    Doing what you have done correctly is a lot of wiring, electronic and firmware modifications so you need to check all of those. Not a simple project.

    when i go into simplify 3d, i try to turn on the hear and it lights up for a second then shuts off

    Helps if you provide the information I asked for.
    Save an entire terminal output for a session where you turned it on, hooked it up and then tried to heat.
    Upload that.

    Im going to put my printer back to normal becuase this is too much, im starting to see what you mean

    It is a fair amount of work and includes a lot of firmware, electrical and mechanical effort.
    Not really worth it. Just get a machine that already has two extruders.

    My work on converting the C2 to dual extruders was far easier (since it already had much of the foundation in place) and still was more effort that it was worth.
