Sep 2, 2015 at 11:27 AM - Blake Benefield: i thought the printing on the filament was sort of neat
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:27 AM - daniel871: Hey Bill. Have you printed the full CES Robby yet?
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:27 AM - Bill Monroe: heck, I'm halfway through the second one... for my gameroom :)
    Sep 2, 2015 at 11:27 AM - daniel871: Haha.
    Sep 2, 2015 at 11:27 AM - danzca6: Is it pink?
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:28 AM - Bill Monroe: actually, I ran out of purple today and switched to the gold, but things went to crap so I'll play with a bit tonight
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:29 AM - danzca6: oh that was purple. looked pink on your video
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:29 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, lights did goofy things
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:29 AM - Bill Monroe: it isnt all that purple in person either
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:30 AM - Bill Monroe: the reel was a tangled mess too.. robo boyz should visit them
    Sep 2, 2015 at 11:30 AM - Bill Monroe: reel=spool
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:31 AM - Bill Monroe: roboyz
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:32 AM - Bill Monroe: i should make a robby head for halloween, and trick or treat Braydon's house
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:33 AM - danzca6: Get the model from RoboBeast with the jagged teath
    Sep 2, 2015 at 11:33 AM - danzca6: teeth
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:35 AM - Bill Monroe: i wonder why we never hear about the other principles.. they took they're "who we are" page down and never heard form them again... hmmm
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:35 AM - Bill Monroe: from
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:35 AM - jbigler1986: so after switching to gold she is going to let you play with it Bill?
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:35 AM - Bill Monroe: huh?
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:36 AM - Bill Monroe: she lets me play with it all the time, but I dont know what that's got to do with the Robo
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:36 AM - jbigler1986: i am just scrambling your sentence is all
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:37 AM - Bill Monroe: and you did it well :)
    Sep 2, 2015 at 11:38 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.3ders.org//articles/2015...version-of-x1000-large-format-3d-printer.html
    Sep 2, 2015 at 11:39 AM - jbigler1986: Print speed: 10 – 150 mm/s hmmm. I don't like. Seems like it may be on the lower end
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:42 AM - daniel871: Nah, actual CNC machines will list minimum speeds in addition to top speeds.
    Sep 2, 2015 at 11:42 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.3ders.org//articles/2015...-jet-engine-made-on-household-3d-printer.html cool
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:42 AM - daniel871: Usually means "motors will not move if requested speed is lower than this"
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:43 AM - Bill Monroe: the pic of the cabinet internals is from an unfinished machine :)
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:45 AM - jbigler1986: i want to print that engine. pretty awesome
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:50 AM - Bill Monroe: let me know when you light it up
Sep 2, 2015 at 11:58 AM - Mike Glass: ahaha it doesnt even do ABfnS
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:05 PM - Mike Kelly: how the hell do you call that thing RepRap
    Sep 2, 2015 at 12:08 PM - danzca6: MK, I found some semiflex for $39 at amazon
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:09 PM - danzca6: You left right before I posted the link
    Sep 2, 2015 at 12:09 PM - danzca6: http://www.amazon.com/NinjaFlex-Sem...1441218119&sr=8-12&keywords=semiflex+filament
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:10 PM - Mike Glass: dont you love when people get you mixed up..lol
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:10 PM - danzca6: Oh that was you MG
    Sep 2, 2015 at 12:10 PM - danzca6: son of a buck
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:10 PM - Mike Glass: happens all the time
    Sep 2, 2015 at 12:10 PM - danzca6: sorry about that
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:11 PM - Mike Glass: Yea too bad it was not on prime
    Sep 2, 2015 at 12:11 PM - danzca6: agreed...almost $5 for shipping
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:11 PM - danzca6: and then you get it some time in 2 weeks probably
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:12 PM - Mike Kelly: just say mike if you're not sure, we'll know
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:12 PM - Mike Glass: I can get TPU for $32 but not sure what the difference is.
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:50 PM - Mike Kelly: man i really don't know why this printers arduino is so finicky
    Sep 2, 2015 at 12:51 PM - Mike Kelly: i guess i should get a rambo
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:55 PM - Mike Glass: what printer?
    Sep 2, 2015 at 12:55 PM - Mike Kelly: MkR1
Sep 2, 2015 at 12:55 PM - Mike Glass: maybe time for a overhaul
    Sep 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM - Mike Kelly: "laptop" http://www.engadget.com/2015/09/02/rog-g752-gx700-water-cooling-laptop/
    Sep 2, 2015 at 1:02 PM - Mike Glass: 8.4 lbs, superlight
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:02 PM - Mike Glass: the should of at least put a 22" on it.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:10 PM - daniel871: Your Arduino is acting up, MK?
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:10 PM - daniel871: Rambo should be in for me some time tomorrow, if I get it installed over the weekend between family stuff I'll let you know what I think of it.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:23 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah it's showing up in the device manager but i can't connect to it or flash it
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:27 PM - daniel871: Yeah, I had trouble with that before. Had to Troubleshoot the driver for it and fight to update it with the drivers that came with the Arduino software.
    Sep 2, 2015 at 1:27 PM - daniel871: Windows 7 made it very difficult.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:28 PM - daniel871: Think I eventually had to delete the device and reinstall everything.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:28 PM - daniel871: That ArduinoDroid app works wonderfully though.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:29 PM - daniel871: Have to issue compile and upload commands separately, but other than that it updated the Robo like you would with a PC (just on the smaller touch screen).
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:30 PM - daniel871: Once you compile the sketch it saves it as a separate one with the date you compiled it as the filename, though, so I can see it being tricky if you have multiple machines with different settings.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:30 PM - daniel871: Or you just re-compile your original sketch every time you make a change and upload (compiles based on a sketch replace older compiles automatically).
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:31 PM - Mike Kelly: i've got spare megas so I'm just gonna flash a new one and throw it in
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:31 PM - Mike Glass: you cant select a seperate sketch?
    Sep 2, 2015 at 1:33 PM - daniel871: Yeah.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:34 PM - daniel871: I just have the two sketches to work from right now though.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:34 PM - daniel871: Modified Dual Robo firmware for Leadscrews and Waldo's version modified for the same.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:36 PM - daniel871: I liked Waldo's version because it actually gave me errors when things didn't work properly vs. the Robo firmware just sitting there idling and trying to do whatever in spite of errors.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:39 PM - Mike Kelly: i've got so many firmware versions it's hard to keep track of
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:39 PM - Mike Kelly: i wish my mini diff IR sensor would show up before i go back to work
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:39 PM - Mike Kelly: which i guess i should do
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:41 PM - Mike Glass: dont do it
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:42 PM - daniel871: As long as you have distinct names for the firmware versions you use it should be easy for the app to sort.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:47 PM - Mike Glass: If you had one printer, wouldnt you just have one version?
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:53 PM - daniel871: I only had the Waldo version because I was seeing if it would run better than the Robo-provided version.\
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:53 PM - Mike Glass: and?
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:53 PM - daniel871: Turned out firmware had little to do with it.
    Sep 2, 2015 at 1:53 PM - daniel871: (board was dying)
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:53 PM - Mike Glass: getting too hot?
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:53 PM - daniel871: Time to play in traffic.
Sep 2, 2015 at 1:54 PM - daniel871: Not from any evidence I could see. All fans were working in the case and it was actually cooler these last few weeks than it had been.
    Sep 2, 2015 at 2:01 PM - jbigler1986: back
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:01 PM - donhuevo: back too
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:02 PM - jbigler1986: almost got the carriage done. just need to print 1 more clip
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:02 PM - donhuevo: threads tight but working?
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:02 PM - jbigler1986: there are actually not as tight as i would like. gonna use some loc tite probably
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:03 PM - Mike Glass: hot glue would work best
    Sep 2, 2015 at 2:03 PM - jbigler1986: or teflon tape maybe
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:03 PM - donhuevo: until you need to pull a hot end for service or change out a nozzle
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:04 PM - Mike Glass: just a tiny dab to make the threads tighter is all
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:04 PM - Mike Glass: not to totally seal it up for eternity
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:05 PM - jbigler1986: think teflon tape would be ok with the heat?
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:05 PM - donhuevo: absolutely. they use it on steam pipes
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:05 PM - Mike Glass: yea its basically ptfe
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:05 PM - jbigler1986: that would probably be the easiest route
    Sep 2, 2015 at 2:05 PM - jbigler1986: it doesn't need a lot.
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:05 PM - donhuevo: besides if it got that hot at the top of the heatsink you have much bigger problems
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:06 PM - jbigler1986: it just threads easier than i would like

Sep 2, 2015 at 2:06 PM - Mike Glass: yea shouldnt be that hot anyways
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:06 PM - donhuevo: yep. drawing and printing 1mm pitch threads was more of a challenge than I thought it would be
    Sep 2, 2015 at 2:06 PM - jbigler1986: well i am printing glass
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:07 PM - jbigler1986: it threads great. just a little to well
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:07 PM - Mike Kelly: well i took the arduino off and it connected fine
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:07 PM - Mike Kelly: something is wonky on my ramps i guess
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:07 PM - donhuevo: man, you guys and your engineering terms. I can't keep up
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:08 PM - Mike Kelly: technical term
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:08 PM - Mike Glass: Don, im not sure I got the top part for the car mount, is that the same thing jb is using?
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:08 PM - donhuevo: should be yes
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:09 PM - Mike Glass: hopefully my lights show up soon.
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:13 PM - jbigler1986: should be name "top clip" i believe
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:13 PM - jbigler1986: one with support and one without support
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:14 PM - Mike Glass: I will check when I get home.
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:18 PM - jbigler1986: i hope jim gets the ir sensor done
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:19 PM - Mike Kelly: i'll have mine tonight
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:19 PM - Mike Kelly: i think i'm gonna try and clean up my rats nest of a wiring
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:19 PM - jbigler1986: mine is a mes right now too
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:19 PM - jbigler1986: need to fix the extruder first
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:22 PM - donhuevo: how do you rotate on the x axis in S3D
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:24 PM - Mike Kelly: double click the object
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:24 PM - Mike Kelly: http://i.imgur.com/3UHgBmp.png MG is this how you would do it to make a 36x36 work table?
Sep 2, 2015 at 2:29 PM - donhuevo: thanks, that got it

    Sep 2, 2015 at 4:32 PM - jbigler1986: For 3D printers: use TEMP_SENSOR 11 in Marlin firmware
    Sep 2, 2015 at 4:33 PM - jbigler1986: why is there no 11 in robo 3.0 firmware
Sep 2, 2015 at 4:34 PM - jbigler1986: Support for NTC 3950 is included in Marlin firmware, use TEMP_SENSOR 11 in firmware configuration

Sep 2, 2015 at 4:42 PM - jbigler1986: well i'm going to replace the 8 thermistor table with the one i need and use number 8

Sep 2, 2015 at 7:38 PM - Mike Kelly: ok
Sep 2, 2015 at 7:38 PM - Mike Kelly: he should have don a cam of sorts on the latch
Sep 2, 2015 at 7:39 PM - Mike Glass: yea if it had more of a cam it would be nice. but it pretty stiff, I used bolts on mine.
Sep 2, 2015 at 7:39 PM - Mike Glass: [IMG]

Sep 2, 2015 at 7:51 PM - Mike Glass: Mike you should make the feet so a pipe strap would fit instead of srews

Sep 3, 2015 5:00 AM - JeffTheMess: Good morning robonauts
Sep 3, 2015 5:01 AM - Bill Monroe: Hi Jeff
Sep 3, 2015 5:02 AM - JeffTheMess: (since you know alot) you know about rustoleum flexidip?
Sep 3, 2015 5:05 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, reminds me of Plastisol
Sep 3, 2015 5:07 AM - JeffTheMess: cool, do you know if that stuff is food safe? as in making, for example ice molds or chocolate molds?
Sep 3, 2015 5:08 AM - Bill Monroe: hey.. neato idea. dont know about foodsafe.. lets google it :)
Sep 3, 2015 5:09 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah, i tried google but nothing I saw
    Sep 3, 2015 5:11 AM - JeffTheMess: maybe you'll have better luck
Sep 3, 2015 5:11 AM - Bill Monroe: ya,me either.. might want to send the question to their customer service but it looks like they intended it primarly for the automotive market and probably wont approve it, just becuase they havnt tested it
Sep 3, 2015 5:12 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah, seems easier to do that way than make the two part mold, annoying way to do it
Sep 3, 2015 5:13 AM - Bill Monroe: I use a silicone latex to make molds for 2.0's soap business
Sep 3, 2015 5:14 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah thats seems good because you won't put the output of that mold in a drink or eat maybe the silicone is food safe? got a link?
Sep 3, 2015 5:16 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, hang on..
    Sep 3, 2015 5:18 AM - Bill Monroe: http://www.makeyourownmolds.com/mold-making-materials-products
Sep 3, 2015 5:19 AM - Bill Monroe: you'll have to look around and find the right stuff for you, especially temp-wise.. there's a LOT of different types
    Sep 3, 2015 5:19 AM - JeffTheMess: cool thanks
    Sep 3, 2015 5:19 AM - Bill Monroe: anytime
Sep 3, 2015 5:28 AM - JeffTheMess: got any plans for the day?
Sep 3, 2015 5:36 AM - Bill Monroe: working.. more wiring on my router when I get home.. nothing exciting

Sep 3, 2015 6:01 AM - daniel871: Is Plasti Dip® safe to use on children's toys, animal containment, and/or on kitchen utensils? Plasti Dip® does not contain any heavy metals, and when completely dry, is considered harmless. However, it is not recommended that it be used on items that may be chewed or inserted into the mouth as it may present a choking hazard.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:01 AM - daniel871: Nothing on Flexidip though.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:02 AM - Bill Monroe:
    Sep 3, 2015 6:03 AM - JeffTheMess: nice
    Sep 3, 2015 6:03 AM - JeffTheMess: thanks dan
Sep 3, 2015 6:03 AM - daniel871: Some people on FB have been using EasyMold 33710 to shape two halves of a mold around a printed part, take the part out and then use the mold.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:03 AM - daniel871: For Chocolates, metals are a little trickier.
Sep 3, 2015 6:09 AM - JeffTheMess: that easy mold seems good
Sep 3, 2015 6:09 AM - JeffTheMess: no two part mold i like it
Sep 3, 2015 6:10 AM - daniel871: I like the idea of the Silicone Spread on the site Bill linked.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:11 AM - daniel871: http://www.makeyourownmolds.com/silicone-spread
Sep 3, 2015 6:12 AM - daniel871: Could still be tricky on intricate shapes that don't have a good flat surface resting on the table you're working on.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:13 AM - daniel871: Ooh, beginner kits. http://www.makeyourownmolds.com/beginner-mold-making-kit
Sep 3, 2015 6:13 AM - JeffTheMess: not I gotta find a store to buy it from
    Sep 3, 2015 6:14 AM - JeffTheMess: now*
Sep 3, 2015 6:14 AM - Bill Monroe: you got Michaels in your town?
    Sep 3, 2015 6:15 AM - JeffTheMess: i think so yeah
Sep 3, 2015 6:15 AM - Bill Monroe: try there
Sep 3, 2015 6:15 AM - Bill Monroe: I have one just about 6 miles away, but I still buy online
    Sep 3, 2015 6:15 AM - daniel871: Micheal's, Hobby Lobby as well.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:17 AM - JeffTheMess: [IMG]
Sep 3, 2015 6:17 AM - JeffTheMess: flexidippin' my quad
    Sep 3, 2015 6:18 AM - daniel871: Maybe a Jo-Ann's if you get desperate.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:30 AM - Bill Monroe:
Sep 3, 2015 6:30 AM - JeffTheMess: how many parts you printed so far?
Sep 3, 2015 6:35 AM - daniel871: Bill is going to win the R1 by attrition.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:35 AM - daniel871: R1+, rather.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:36 AM - JeffTheMess: "R1+"
Sep 3, 2015 6:36 AM - daniel871: Which may or may not have started shipping to people that ordered one.
Sep 3, 2015 6:36 AM - daniel871: Got a notification from Amazon where someone was asking about the differences between the R1 and R1+ with a "Can you answer this question?" email
Sep 3, 2015 6:37 AM - daniel871: They were all "The website says they are shipping at the end of August and it's September and I'm not seeing anything here where I can order one and have it shipped any time soon."
Sep 3, 2015 6:38 AM - JeffTheMess: lol good ol' robo
Sep 3, 2015 6:38 AM - daniel871: LOL the Amazon listing for the R1Plus says "Ships in 3-5 weeks.
Sep 3, 2015 6:41 AM - Bill Monroe: naw.. I never win anything
Sep 3, 2015 6:42 AM - Bill Monroe: some nutjob in alaska will get it with the one part he sends in.
Sep 3, 2015 6:42 AM - donhuevo: hey now... my uncle is a nutjob that lives in Alaska
Sep 3, 2015 6:43 AM - Bill Monroe: well good, he'll have someone he can call for tech help :)
Sep 3, 2015 6:45 AM - donhuevo: he'd be more likely to try and carve a Robbie part
    Sep 3, 2015 6:45 AM - Bill Monroe: with a chainsaw?
    Sep 3, 2015 6:45 AM - donhuevo: whittle
Sep 3, 2015 6:46 AM - daniel871: Good grief, the negative reviews on Amazon around the same time I got mine are all 1 star and awful.
Sep 3, 2015 6:47 AM - daniel871: Lots of broken parts, missing wires, bad suggestions from Support to unplug cooling fans because of heater cooling errors. Holy Fn LOL.
Sep 3, 2015 6:49 AM - daniel871: Someone in the Q&A section claiming to work for Robo3D said none of the verified purchases on Amazon gave the printer a bad review, in spite of 20% of the reviews for it on Amazon being 1 star and almost all Verified purchases.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:49 AM - daniel871: Sheesh.
Sep 3, 2015 6:49 AM - Bill Monroe: one canot give serious consideration to reviews without knowing the source..
    Sep 3, 2015 6:50 AM - JeffTheMess: ^
Sep 3, 2015 6:51 AM - daniel871: Lying about the actual number of bad reviews not being from people that actually bought a printer is just pathetic though.
Sep 3, 2015 6:51 AM - Bill Monroe: we dont know that's not true
Sep 3, 2015 6:52 AM - daniel871: Amazon marks reviews based on the customer profile. It's wholly automatic.
Sep 3, 2015 6:52 AM - daniel871: So if you look at a review and it's by someone that bought the printer thru Amazon, there will be a "Verified Amazon Purchaser" under the review title.
Sep 3, 2015 6:52 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, online websites cant be fooled either :)
    Sep 3, 2015 6:52 AM - daniel871: If they didn't buy the item, that won't be there.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:53 AM - daniel871:
Sep 3, 2015 6:53 AM - donhuevo: there's no denying that back in the day, more of them showed up with something broken than not
Sep 3, 2015 6:53 AM - Bill Monroe: for all we know, some jr high site hacker got a free pass to Dave & Busters from Tiko for posting false bad reviews
    Sep 3, 2015 6:54 AM - JeffTheMess: lol
    Sep 3, 2015 6:54 AM - daniel871: That's pure idiocy Bill.
Sep 3, 2015 6:55 AM - Bill Monroe: say it with me "everything on the internet is true" rinse, repeat..
Sep 3, 2015 6:56 AM - donhuevo: is it possible that the internet is Fox News sole source of information?
Sep 3, 2015 6:56 AM - daniel871: The problem with that argument is that it falls apart if you turn around and apply it to the 54% 5 star rating it has.
Sep 3, 2015 6:57 AM - daniel871: Saying "None of the 1 star reviews are from people that actually bought our printer" is idiotic and easily disproven is the point.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:57 AM - daniel871: Because I'm one of them, for one.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:58 AM - Bill Monroe: you left a 1 star review?
Sep 3, 2015 6:59 AM - donhuevo: I was way too busy trying to fix it. I had no time to leave a review
    Sep 3, 2015 7:01 AM - daniel871: Yeah.
Sep 3, 2015 7:01 AM - Bill Monroe: oh man, now you're not going to get a cookie
Sep 3, 2015 7:01 AM - daniel871: It never delivered on any of the claims in the marketing material, and it's been an uphill "something always breaking/needing replacement" process since I got it.
Sep 3, 2015 7:02 AM - Bill Monroe: to me, anyone blindly buying something without research is a 1-star buyer
    Sep 3, 2015 7:03 AM - donhuevo: researching a kickstarter is difficult
Sep 3, 2015 7:03 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, few kickstarters succeed
Sep 3, 2015 7:03 AM - Bill Monroe: it's too easy to get money, no effort = no quality
Sep 3, 2015 7:04 AM - donhuevo: you're right though Bill. There should be a rule. Never have a kickstarter be your first machine

Sep 3, 2015 7:05 AM - Bill Monroe: well, one can always adopt it as a personal creedo
Sep 3, 2015 7:06 AM - donhuevo: never liked the word creedo. don't know why
Sep 3, 2015 7:06 AM - Bill Monroe: i had more than one face-to-face grilling session with one the robo principles
Sep 3, 2015 7:06 AM - Bill Monroe: bought it knowing what I was getting, at a Costco
Sep 3, 2015 7:07 AM - Bill Monroe: and got a deal, to boot :)
Sep 3, 2015 7:07 AM - donhuevo: when Black Friday rolls around, I'm taking you with me
Sep 3, 2015 7:08 AM - Bill Monroe: in fact, right now, I'm running the extra roll of filament I got in the deal
Sep 3, 2015 7:08 AM - Bill Monroe: 10 months old and stored sitting ont he shelf.. no bag, no dessicant
Sep 3, 2015 7:09 AM - Bill Monroe: you can take me, but I expect to be fed
    Sep 3, 2015 7:09 AM - donhuevo: done
Sep 3, 2015 7:10 AM - Bill Monroe: Baked White Sea Bass in a french sauce
    Sep 3, 2015 7:10 AM - donhuevo: mayonaisse is a french sauce
    Sep 3, 2015 7:11 AM - donhuevo: mayonnaise
    Sep 3, 2015 7:11 AM - Bill Monroe: .... in France
Sep 3, 2015 7:11 AM - donhuevo: damn french and their extra letters
Sep 3, 2015 7:14 AM - daniel871: I wasn't expecting a perfect printer, I'm more aggravated with how "support" has functioned whenever I've contacted them for parts that arrived broken or stopped working shortly after getting the printer.
Sep 3, 2015 7:15 AM - Bill Monroe: maybe it's your execution? I had a power supply fail.. sent an email, had another one in a week.
Sep 3, 2015 7:15 AM - Bill Monroe: turned out it didnt fail after all.. sent it back, got a nice thank you
    Sep 3, 2015 7:16 AM - daniel871: Depended on the part.
Sep 3, 2015 7:16 AM - daniel871: Y-clips and the first stepper motor that failed were sent without hassle. Everything else required paying for it and waiting two weeks to get it.
Sep 3, 2015 7:17 AM - Bill Monroe: of course, I only live 9 miles from them.. maybe they were afraid I'd walk in :)
Sep 3, 2015 7:17 AM - daniel871: And I'm probably being irrational about it, but that line I got about printing a smooth first layer breaking my glass bed because it stuck to the glass too hard still rubs me the wrong way when I think about it.
Sep 3, 2015 7:17 AM - daniel871: Using it as an excuse not to warranty the bed.
Sep 3, 2015 7:18 AM - Bill Monroe: dont think about it :)
Sep 3, 2015 7:19 AM - daniel871: Kind of difficult to not think about it in a discussion about whether or not Robo lives up to any of their marketing claims regarding the printer itself or their support/warranty system.
Sep 3, 2015 7:20 AM - Bill Monroe: I dunno what to tell ya.. I modded mine to death when I first got it but in the end, it only has 3 well- proven mods and it cranks out parts with no tweaking...
Sep 3, 2015 7:21 AM - Bill Monroe: i know two others (work in my company) that both bought theres on Amazon, copied what I did and now thiers crank em out too... so I dont think I'm some outlier
    Sep 3, 2015 7:21 AM - Bill Monroe: theirs
Sep 3, 2015 7:22 AM - Bill Monroe: of course, we're all engineers.. (but I'm a fake one I'm told)
Sep 3, 2015 7:28 AM - daniel871: Mechanically, everything on the Robo I have has been tightened/smoothed out as best as I can get it without scrapping everything and starting over (new bearings, all gears tightened on stepper shafts/belts tightened). I'm down to bent lead screws being the only issue on Z and my electronics failing.
    Sep 3, 2015 7:31 AM - WheresWaldo: Morning
    Sep 3, 2015 7:31 AM - Bill Monroe: Wally
    Sep 3, 2015 7:31 AM - WheresWaldo: Billy
Sep 3, 2015 7:32 AM - WheresWaldo: It seems like today's topic is the trials and tribulations of Dannyboy?
Sep 3, 2015 7:33 AM - daniel871: I was talking about the reviews Robo has on Amazon and it kind of went from there.
Sep 3, 2015 7:34 AM - WheresWaldo: Ah. Of course some of those Amazon buyers just expect to believe all the hype
Sep 3, 2015 7:34 AM - daniel871: Set off by whoever runs the Robo3D account on Amazon saying nobody that posted a negative review actually bought a printer in spite of the Verified Purchaser marks Amazon puts on there.
Sep 3, 2015 7:35 AM - WheresWaldo: Well, I could post a review, I like my Robo, but have been and still am critical of many of the design compromises they made, Plus all the BS about how easy it is to use.
Sep 3, 2015 7:36 AM - WheresWaldo: Of course the last part applies to nearly any current 3D Printer
Sep 3, 2015 7:37 AM - daniel871: Most of the negative reviews I've seen complain more about the support than the printer itself.
Sep 3, 2015 7:37 AM - WheresWaldo: Except I didn't buy from Amazon, daughter used EP from BB.
Sep 3, 2015 7:40 AM - Bill Monroe: Express Pay from Bath & Bodyworks?
    Sep 3, 2015 7:41 AM - WheresWaldo: Why not.
    Sep 3, 2015 7:41 AM - daniel871: Best Buy I think.
Sep 3, 2015 7:41 AM - daniel871: Not sure about the EP bit.
    Sep 3, 2015 7:41 AM - WheresWaldo: Employee Purchase
Sep 3, 2015 7:42 AM - Bill Monroe: oo gettin the hookup on eployee discount
Sep 3, 2015 7:43 AM - WheresWaldo: Yep, makes USB cables cheaper than Monoprice and no shipping.
    Sep 3, 2015 7:44 AM - Bill Monroe:
Sep 3, 2015 7:44 AM - WheresWaldo: Bill what is the warped piece in front?
Sep 3, 2015 7:45 AM - Bill Monroe: Some Gold filament I was asked to try.. i gave it 1 star
    Sep 3, 2015 7:45 AM - Bill Monroe: on amazon :)
    Sep 3, 2015 7:45 AM - Bill Monroe: j/k
Sep 3, 2015 7:46 AM - WheresWaldo: I have done a few endorsed reviews for Amazon, but the crap is mostly snake oil shit.
Sep 3, 2015 7:48 AM - Bill Monroe: I have fantastic luck with anything Hatchbox
    Sep 3, 2015 7:48 AM - donhuevo: ^
Sep 3, 2015 7:48 AM - daniel871: I usually don't bother to post a review unless what I bought was really good or a piece of junk.
    Sep 3, 2015 7:48 AM - Mike Kelly: mornin
Sep 3, 2015 7:48 AM - daniel871: Or unless the manufacturer ticked me off when I tried to address issues with them.
Sep 3, 2015 7:48 AM - WheresWaldo: I am haing issues with Hatchbox ABS, but their PLA (what little PLA I use) is not bad.
Sep 3, 2015 7:49 AM - Bill Monroe: you're not alone.. a 3 review is rare.. people only put out the effort when they're either enraged or ecstatic
Sep 3, 2015 7:49 AM - daniel871: JustPLA worked pretty well for me, but their JustABS stuff has had a lot of issues delaminating at the S3D temps.
    Sep 3, 2015 7:49 AM - daniel871: Hatchbox ABS worked much better.
    Sep 3, 2015 7:49 AM - donhuevo: morning miguel
Sep 3, 2015 7:49 AM - WheresWaldo: Dan, I got a box of Kona coffee for like two bucks to write an Amazon review, wasn't bad but just not dark enough for me
Sep 3, 2015 7:50 AM - daniel871: Haha. I get Kona coffee every year from some sales guy that does rounds in Hawaii.
Sep 3, 2015 7:50 AM - daniel871: That stuff is actually pretty good from that company.
Sep 3, 2015 7:50 AM - daniel871: (beats the crap out of Folger's and Maxwell House any way)
Sep 3, 2015 7:51 AM - WheresWaldo: I like Kona, but some of the African beans can be roasted darker without becoming bitter
    Sep 3, 2015 7:51 AM - Mike Kelly: that's not saying much
Sep 3, 2015 7:51 AM - Bill Monroe: if I get anything but Starbucks beans 2.0 will dress street legal until I get it
Sep 3, 2015 7:51 AM - daniel871: Mostly about what's available locally. Starbuck's has always been overpriced for the coffee it brews to me.
Sep 3, 2015 7:51 AM - WheresWaldo: Starbucks burns all their roasts, some of the worst coffee I have ever had.
    Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - donhuevo: ^
Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - daniel871: Yeah, not even throwing salt in the grounds saves it for me.
Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah starbucks isn't very good
Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - Mike Kelly: i like my local brand
Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - daniel871: And doing that to Folger's or Maxwell House makes them actually taste somewhat decent.
Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, that's why people line up at them
    Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - Bill Monroe: cuz it's crap
Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - donhuevo: imagine starting a 6 hour drive with a killer hangover and the only coffee to be found is Starbucks
    Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - Mike Kelly: convenience
Sep 3, 2015 7:52 AM - daniel871: They line up because the storefront drowns the coffee in sugar and milk.
    Sep 3, 2015 7:53 AM - Mike Kelly: ^
Sep 3, 2015 7:53 AM - Mike Kelly: how many people go to starbucks for the black coffee, not many
Sep 3, 2015 7:53 AM - WheresWaldo: Sumatran and Kenyan roasts are my current favorites
Sep 3, 2015 7:53 AM - daniel871: Waffle House has some surprisingly good coffee.
Sep 3, 2015 7:53 AM - Bill Monroe: whatever, i dont drink coffee at all, I think it's all a close cousin to compost tea
Sep 3, 2015 7:53 AM - WheresWaldo: So does McD
Sep 3, 2015 7:53 AM - WheresWaldo: For a cheap cup of coffee
Sep 3, 2015 7:53 AM - Mike Kelly: caramel latte with low fat dairy removed milk with a shot of vanilla
Sep 3, 2015 7:53 AM - daniel871: Must be a local thing because the local McD burns their coffee worse than Starbuck's.
Sep 3, 2015 7:54 AM - daniel871: Lately I've just been getting coffee at QuikTrip or Racetrac. They do surprisingly well on their coffee setups.
Sep 3, 2015 7:54 AM - WheresWaldo: I was visiting Vancouver BC a while ago and walking around downtown, there was one streat corner that had a Starbucks on each corner of the intersection.
Sep 3, 2015 7:55 AM - donhuevo: we have a growing Dunkin population here
Sep 3, 2015 7:55 AM - daniel871: Probably did that so all the hipsters would be in one general area.
Sep 3, 2015 7:55 AM - WheresWaldo: Now they just need a fence
    Sep 3, 2015 7:55 AM - daniel871: Never tried Krispy Kreme coffee.
Sep 3, 2015 7:56 AM - daniel871: They're kind of hard to get into anyway whenever I've gone through an area one was located at.
Sep 3, 2015 7:56 AM - WheresWaldo: Our newly remodeled Krispy Kreme took out their HOT sign, now I don't know when to stop there.

    Sep 3, 2015 7:57 AM - Mike Kelly: lmao
Sep 3, 2015 7:59 AM - daniel871: That means you just get microwaved donuts there now.
Sep 3, 2015 7:59 AM - JeffTheMess: lol good one
Sep 3, 2015 8:00 AM - daniel871: There is this one local donut shop that makes weird donuts that seem to be soaked thru with maple syrup and made out of pancake batter.
Sep 3, 2015 8:00 AM - daniel871: They keep weird/irregular hours though so you almost never find them open to try one.
Sep 3, 2015 8:01 AM - daniel871: (only know about them thru a person at work bringing some in one day because they happened to be open that morning)
    Sep 3, 2015 8:04 AM - daniel871: Vogelsburg's or something like that.
Sep 3, 2015 8:05 AM - Mike Glass: lol, morning that was good MK.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:07 AM - Mike Kelly: right?
Sep 3, 2015 8:07 AM - Mike Kelly: I slept with bill nye the science guy. "you bitch"
    Sep 3, 2015 8:09 AM - Mike Glass: I just saw that part..LMAO
Sep 3, 2015 8:10 AM - donhuevo: only white bitches wear that shade of lipstick
Sep 3, 2015 8:13 AM - Mike Kelly: do you think filament warrants its own forum or would it be fine under general, right now there's only 9 threads
Sep 3, 2015 8:16 AM - Mike Glass: what about a sla forum.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:18 AM - Mike Kelly: maybe when there's a bigbox sla
Sep 3, 2015 8:19 AM - daniel871: It'd be nice if there was a Filament mega-thread of some sort with the recommended temps/feeds/speeds/retraction settings for Robo's filament for the people that actually buy their filament from Robo3D
Sep 3, 2015 8:20 AM - daniel871: Though I suppose that information would have to be put together by someone actually using that filament to start with. :/
Sep 3, 2015 8:21 AM - daniel871: Why would Robo3D have a forum about SLA printing? Are they making an SLA printer at some point?
    Sep 3, 2015 8:24 AM - JeffTheMess: (thats the r2)
Sep 3, 2015 8:25 AM - Mike Glass: yeah because that will never happen..haha
Sep 3, 2015 8:25 AM - JeffTheMess: my point exactly lol
Sep 3, 2015 8:27 AM - daniel871: Where is the page where I can place a Big Box pre-order? The website is all about the features and pricing but no actual page to place orders from.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:27 AM - jbigler1986: back
    Sep 3, 2015 8:27 AM - jbigler1986: i mean good morning
    Sep 3, 2015 8:27 AM - Mike Kelly: mornin
Sep 3, 2015 8:27 AM - WheresWaldo: Problem with filament threads is that everyone has different ideas of what works as well as people using MC vs. Slic3r vs. Cura vs. S3D
Sep 3, 2015 8:28 AM - daniel871: Also your settings change slightly depending on the actual model you print.
Sep 3, 2015 8:28 AM - Mike Glass: Dan it is over
Sep 3, 2015 8:28 AM - Mike Glass: you cant buy untill they go into production
Sep 3, 2015 8:28 AM - WheresWaldo: And no matter how much you yell dump MC people still will use it because its bundled.
Sep 3, 2015 8:28 AM - daniel871: I know the kickstarter is over, but the E3D website has a big banner about the company now taking pre-orders since the kickstarter is done.
Sep 3, 2015 8:29 AM - jbigler1986: still having extruding issues. i think it's related to the bowden adapter. no positive though. going to thread the ptfe and try it that way. MK did you have any issues with that
Sep 3, 2015 8:29 AM - Mike Kelly: lemme find out for you daniel
Sep 3, 2015 8:29 AM - Mike Kelly: i never had issues with that but i didn't put a whole ton of hours
    Sep 3, 2015 8:29 AM - jbigler1986: well i might as well try it
Sep 3, 2015 8:29 AM - daniel871: I put the nut in a drill and threaded it on the PTFE that way, then put a 2mm drill bit in the drill and drilled thru the PTFE and nut to remove the collapsed wall.
Sep 3, 2015 8:30 AM - Mike Kelly: i bet that would work well
    Sep 3, 2015 8:30 AM - daniel871: That's for the Hercustruder, right?
    Sep 3, 2015 8:30 AM - jbigler1986: so you didn't even use a die? nice
    Sep 3, 2015 8:30 AM - daniel871: M4 nut IIRC, right?
    Sep 3, 2015 8:30 AM - jbigler1986: for the hecustruder yes
Sep 3, 2015 8:31 AM - daniel871: And no, the PTFE is really soft, it's just tricky to start on the end of the tube (have to be somewhat lined up properly, though the nut will straighten itself out as you go up the tube).
Sep 3, 2015 8:32 AM - Mike Glass: I just shaved the tube a little to start the threads
    Sep 3, 2015 8:32 AM - Mike Glass: with a pencil sharpener
Sep 3, 2015 8:32 AM - Mike Kelly: daniel: scroll to the bottom of this page: http://e3d-online.com/BigBox
    Sep 3, 2015 8:32 AM - daniel871: That'll work too.
Sep 3, 2015 8:32 AM - daniel871: I was on the actual BigBox website looking.
Sep 3, 2015 8:34 AM - Mike Kelly: which one are you thinking
    Sep 3, 2015 8:35 AM - daniel871: I would love to get the Dual.
Sep 3, 2015 8:35 AM - daniel871: Still cheaper than an Ultimaker and probably a solid printer.
Sep 3, 2015 8:35 AM - daniel871: If I knew prices wouldn't jump up I'd wait until someone else had one and see how they liked it.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:36 AM - Mike Glass: Back this one. 4x extruders https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1624260277/the-beast-a-large-and-precise-4x-extruder-3d-print
    Sep 3, 2015 8:37 AM - Mike Kelly: Soon™
Sep 3, 2015 8:37 AM - Mike Kelly: that thing is so ludicrous mike
Sep 3, 2015 8:37 AM - Mike Glass: thats what makes its fun
    Sep 3, 2015 8:38 AM - Mike Kelly: yup
    Sep 3, 2015 8:38 AM - daniel871: I don't like that one.
Sep 3, 2015 8:38 AM - Mike Kelly: lol they don't even have a heated bed
Sep 3, 2015 8:38 AM - daniel871: I don't see where I'd be printing multiples of the same thing like that.
Sep 3, 2015 8:38 AM - Mike Glass: yea im not a fan of that
Sep 3, 2015 8:39 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah that makes sense if you're like small scale manufacturing
Sep 3, 2015 8:39 AM - Mike Kelly: allted should buy that to sell his MPCNC kits
Sep 3, 2015 8:39 AM - daniel871: Also the build area is a little misleading since it's divided up into four sections by the heads.
Sep 3, 2015 8:39 AM - Mike Kelly: you can do a single head
Sep 3, 2015 8:39 AM - Mike Glass: you can still build of one extruder
Sep 3, 2015 8:40 AM - donhuevo: and how are you supposed to gap all four of them when they share the same z?
    Sep 3, 2015 8:40 AM - donhuevo: #FirstLayerProblems
Sep 3, 2015 8:41 AM - Mike Kelly: bet that's super fun to level
Sep 3, 2015 8:41 AM - daniel871: Hm. BigBox Pro comes with Octoprint and a Camera already set up and ready to go on it.
Sep 3, 2015 8:41 AM - donhuevo: I'm thinking the time lapse of the levelling would be way longer than the time lapse print they show
Sep 3, 2015 8:43 AM - Mike Kelly: the assembled daniel?
    Sep 3, 2015 8:44 AM - Mike Kelly: i want mah bigbox
Sep 3, 2015 8:45 AM - Mike Glass: Don, I believe they are on a quick release mechanism.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:45 AM - daniel871: Yeah.
Sep 3, 2015 8:46 AM - Mike Glass: I wanted one, but dont like that fact they come with a wood case, and then charge you like $150 for plexi.
Sep 3, 2015 8:48 AM - daniel871: There should be a S3D profile for them some time after they start shipping, since they offer it as an option for purchasing a license, right?
    Sep 3, 2015 8:49 AM - daniel871: That's an After-Christmas gift for myself, anyway, but it's going in my E3D wishlist.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:52 AM - Mike Kelly: https://i.imgur.com/iOIaAJN.png neat
Sep 3, 2015 8:52 AM - Mike Kelly: yes there should be daniel
Sep 3, 2015 8:52 AM - Mike Kelly: mg just cut your own acrylic
    Sep 3, 2015 8:54 AM - Mike Kelly: https://i.imgur.com/5dmq06h.jpg lmao
    Sep 3, 2015 8:56 AM - JeffTheMess: lol
    Sep 3, 2015 8:56 AM - daniel871: Love this one. http://i.imgur.com/Qn6BHZN.jpg
Sep 3, 2015 9:01 AM - Mike Kelly: lol mike does that mean you're making a DLP
Sep 3, 2015 9:01 AM - Kevin Nguyen: hey guys
Sep 3, 2015 9:02 AM - Kevin Nguyen: so im loving the xxl screen except for when i turn it off.
Sep 3, 2015 9:03 AM - Mike Glass: dont turn it off kevin
Sep 3, 2015 9:03 AM - Mike Glass: I have everything except for juice so why not MK.
Sep 3, 2015 9:03 AM - Kevin Nguyen: but why? is there nothing i can do to change the presets?
Sep 3, 2015 9:04 AM - Mike Glass: presets are in the firmware
Sep 3, 2015 9:04 AM - Kevin Nguyen: what section of the firmware because i never saw it.
Sep 3, 2015 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: fair enough, i'd need the projector
Sep 3, 2015 9:06 AM - daniel871: Why would you turn the LCD screen off anyway if you're printing?
Sep 3, 2015 9:06 AM - Kevin Nguyen: its not during prints
Sep 3, 2015 9:06 AM - Kevin Nguyen: its when im done printing for the day
    Sep 3, 2015 9:06 AM - daniel871: I'm not sure I see the problem.
Sep 3, 2015 9:07 AM - Kevin Nguyen: when i turn it off all the presets change. im wondering if i can have them not change. mike said its in the firmware so im looking for it right now
    Sep 3, 2015 9:07 AM - Mike Glass: its in the configuration.h i believe
Sep 3, 2015 9:08 AM - daniel871: Pretty sure you can go under Control and scroll down to "Store Memory" to save your changes.
Sep 3, 2015 9:08 AM - Kevin Nguyen: i probably never saw that xD

Sep 3, 2015 9:08 AM - Kevin Nguyen: ill check that now
Sep 3, 2015 9:08 AM - daniel871: That may only apply to the settings you change under the Control menus though.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:08 AM - daniel871: (Temperature and Motion settings)
Sep 3, 2015 9:08 AM - Mike Glass: I think you have to do something else to make it writeable
    Sep 3, 2015 9:09 AM - daniel871: I thought the most recent Robo firmware made EEPROM write-able.
Sep 3, 2015 9:09 AM - Mike Kelly: you'd need to enable eeprom writing
Sep 3, 2015 9:09 AM - Kevin Nguyen: well i found it in the firmware so i changed it there
    Sep 3, 2015 9:10 AM - Mike Glass: Hi<5> Kevin
Sep 3, 2015 9:11 AM - daniel871: Ugh, World of Warships dropped a 1.5GB update and I'm waiting on it so I can play during lunch.
Sep 3, 2015 9:12 AM - Mike Glass: great, better start mine now then
    Sep 3, 2015 9:12 AM - daniel871: Yeah.
Sep 3, 2015 9:12 AM - daniel871: I like the idea of the huge guns on Battleships but they're so *slow*
Sep 3, 2015 9:13 AM - Mike Glass: looks like I have a 250 mb to do first..
Sep 3, 2015 9:13 AM - daniel871: (Idiots in destroyers running close enough to me for my secondaries to open up is nice though)
Sep 3, 2015 9:14 AM - Mike Kelly: that sounds like a thing
    Sep 3, 2015 9:15 AM - daniel871: The game?
    Sep 3, 2015 9:21 AM - Mike Kelly: yes
    Sep 3, 2015 9:21 AM - Mike Kelly: i'm just confused
Sep 3, 2015 9:25 AM - daniel871: You've got the main guns that you can control, and a set of secondary guns that are basically automatic and only start firing when an enemy ship is close to you.
Sep 3, 2015 9:27 AM - Mike Glass: its installing the 1.5 update now.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:28 AM - daniel871: It says 0.4.1 update on my screen.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:28 AM - daniel871: lol
    Sep 3, 2015 9:28 AM - Mike Glass: I meant the 1.5 gb..lol
    Sep 3, 2015 9:28 AM - daniel871: Mine is still downloading.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:28 AM - daniel871: 80%
Sep 3, 2015 9:28 AM - Mike Kelly: man it makes me sad there's 2 perfectly good drill press just sitting collecting paint dust
Sep 3, 2015 9:29 AM - Mike Kelly: is thingiverse down?
    Sep 3, 2015 9:30 AM - daniel871: Loads for me.
Sep 3, 2015 9:35 AM - daniel871: Yeah ok, get to 1544.5 out of 1550mb on the download and stall.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:35 AM - daniel871: Come on.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:36 AM - Mike Kelly: hahaha
Sep 3, 2015 9:36 AM - daniel871: Okay, done downloading and now installing.
Sep 3, 2015 9:37 AM - Mike Kelly: your lunch break is practically over though
Sep 3, 2015 9:37 AM - daniel871: Nah, got interrupted a little while ago by the shop so I can fudge the break a little bit.
Sep 3, 2015 9:38 AM - Mike Glass: geez another update after that..haha
    Sep 3, 2015 9:38 AM - daniel871:
Sep 3, 2015 9:39 AM - Mike Glass: Is there any reason you have to use dlp for a resin printer, I have 2 non dlp also I have rotting around doing nothing.
Sep 3, 2015 9:39 AM - daniel871: Something to do with image resolution.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:41 AM - daniel871: . should be ?
Sep 3, 2015 9:41 AM - Mike Glass: probably, but they look just as nice as this newer benq dlp. although these were $7K new
Sep 3, 2015 9:41 AM - Mike Kelly: i think it has to do with the spectrum
Sep 3, 2015 9:41 AM - Mike Glass: oh the light spectrum, gotcha
    Sep 3, 2015 9:42 AM - daniel871: UV?
Sep 3, 2015 9:42 AM - Mike Glass: Think I will make a sand table with one of the other ones.
Sep 3, 2015 9:43 AM - daniel871: God this thing is installing so slow.
Sep 3, 2015 9:44 AM - daniel871: Computer can render a paper machine in less than 5 minutes, but this installation has been running for at least that long.
Sep 3, 2015 9:44 AM - Mike Kelly: the more urgently you want to use something the slower your computer goes
Sep 3, 2015 9:44 AM - Mike Glass: Im glad solidworks doesnt do that:)
Sep 3, 2015 9:45 AM - Mike Kelly: solidworks is perfect in every way
    Sep 3, 2015 9:45 AM - daniel871: Another 45MB update after the 1.5GB update, lol.
Sep 3, 2015 9:45 AM - Mike Glass: yep thats what mine did
Sep 3, 2015 9:45 AM - daniel871: Solidworks just likes to reject assembly mates after being perfectly fine with them in a previous session.

Sep 3, 2015 10:00 AM - Mike Kelly: i don't really see the point since it seems like it would just get full of saw dust
Sep 3, 2015 10:05 AM - Mike Glass: I wear carpenters pants so have everything I need at my side, nothing to fall in a tool by accident.
Sep 3, 2015 10:08 AM - Mike Kelly: mg new CNC project: https://i.imgur.com/Cwtq54P.jpg

Sep 3, 2015 10:11 AM - Mike Glass: A woody, sweet. you may need a bigger platform for that one.
    Sep 3, 2015 10:11 AM - jbigler1986: back bitches
    Sep 3, 2015 10:11 AM - jbigler1986: that bike is awesome
    Sep 3, 2015 10:12 AM - Mike Kelly: right?
Sep 3, 2015 10:12 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah some of those big pieces are at least 4-5'
Sep 3, 2015 10:12 AM - Mike Kelly: http://curbed.com/archives/2015/09/01/escondido-estate-auction.php who wants to pool some money together and buy this?
    Sep 3, 2015 10:12 AM - Mike Glass: [IMG]
Sep 3, 2015 10:13 AM - Mike Glass: not sure if this is the same build, this has red rims.
    Sep 3, 2015 10:13 AM - Mike Kelly: that's cool yeah
    Sep 3, 2015 10:14 AM - jbigler1986: interior needs redecorated
Sep 3, 2015 10:15 AM - Mike Glass: probably built with drug money
Sep 3, 2015 10:15 AM - Mike Kelly: [IMG] this would be fun to make on the CNC
Sep 3, 2015 10:15 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah the pharmaceutical industry has crazy amount of money (see what I did there)
Sep 3, 2015 10:16 AM - Mike Kelly: [IMG] also this workbench...
Sep 3, 2015 10:17 AM - Mike Glass: needs wheels imo
Sep 3, 2015 10:20 AM - Mike Kelly: wheel all the things
    Sep 3, 2015 10:36 AM - jbigler1986: have those been invented yet?
Sep 3, 2015 10:44 AM - Mike Glass: or at least retractable wheels, like on the shopsmith, that is nice.
Sep 3, 2015 10:47 AM - Mike Glass: put motors on these to raise a table could be cool. [IMG]
Sep 3, 2015 10:53 AM - daniel871: Yay, just got a notification that the Rambo kit was delivered.
    Sep 3, 2015 10:54 AM - daniel871: Motorized scissor jacks with casters.
Sep 3, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Glass: that would work as well
Sep 3, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Glass: probably cheaper also
Sep 3, 2015 10:55 AM - Mike Kelly: kinda concerning that it's been a week since the lead screws arrived and no update on anything
Sep 3, 2015 10:56 AM - daniel871: Maybe they checked them before shipping them and found out every single one was bent and are having to complain to their supplier.
    Sep 3, 2015 10:56 AM - Mike Kelly: haha
Sep 3, 2015 10:56 AM - Mike Kelly: as long as they checked them...
Sep 3, 2015 10:57 AM - daniel871: Best case scenario, really. Otherwise someone is sitting around not packing things up for shipment and everyone gets bent leadscrews anyway.
    Sep 3, 2015 10:58 AM - jbigler1986: sounds about right
Sep 3, 2015 10:59 AM - daniel871: Since the Rambo is in now I think I'll just work on getting that put in, cleaning up all of the wiring and put the original HfnC's on if they managed to stay un-f-ed while sitting in a cabinet, put the old firmware Z steps in for Z and start trying to print stuff again until I save up enough money for the Big Box.
Sep 3, 2015 10:59 AM - PeterkSharma: hey morning all
    Sep 3, 2015 10:59 AM - PeterkSharma: quick question
    Sep 3, 2015 11:00 AM - jbigler1986: ?
    Sep 3, 2015 11:00 AM - daniel871: No, they haven't shipped yet.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:00 AM - Mike Kelly: lol

Sep 3, 2015 11:01 AM - PeterkSharma: lol no its about the bondtech
Sep 3, 2015 11:01 AM - PeterkSharma: I actidentaly pushed some ptfe into the wrong side of the extruder. I was not able to pull out the tubing.
Sep 3, 2015 11:02 AM - PeterkSharma: will i be able to get the ptfe out if i take it apart? (trying to avoid this)
Sep 3, 2015 11:02 AM - PeterkSharma: its in the push to fit connector
Sep 3, 2015 11:02 AM - Mike Kelly: there is not really a wrong side
Sep 3, 2015 11:02 AM - Mike Kelly: you pushed the black connector down and pulled?
    Sep 3, 2015 11:02 AM - Mike Glass: doh
    Sep 3, 2015 11:03 AM - jbigler1986: well
    Sep 3, 2015 11:03 AM - PeterkSharma: yeah
Sep 3, 2015 11:03 AM - PeterkSharma: its locked in there
Sep 3, 2015 11:04 AM - PeterkSharma: yeah i agree about the wrong side but didnt get any extra.... ohwelll
Sep 3, 2015 11:04 AM - Mike Kelly: pull harder
    Sep 3, 2015 11:04 AM - PeterkSharma: i did
    Sep 3, 2015 11:04 AM - PeterkSharma: i used a wrench
    Sep 3, 2015 11:04 AM - jbigler1986: ummmm
    Sep 3, 2015 11:04 AM - Mike Kelly: picture?
Sep 3, 2015 11:04 AM - PeterkSharma: it must be some swedish black magic
    Sep 3, 2015 11:04 AM - Mike Kelly: i think it's a case of pebkac
    Sep 3, 2015 11:04 AM - PeterkSharma: pebkac?
    Sep 3, 2015 11:05 AM - PeterkSharma: does printed solid sell ptfe/
    Sep 3, 2015 11:06 AM - jbigler1986: amazon
Sep 3, 2015 11:06 AM - PeterkSharma: jb how much did you get per extruder? a foot?
    Sep 3, 2015 11:07 AM - jbigler1986: i got 5 feet total. so 2 1/2 per
Sep 3, 2015 11:07 AM - daniel871: Sounds to me like you've got a good inlet feeding to the gears now.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:07 AM - jbigler1986: it was like $16 for 5'
    Sep 3, 2015 11:07 AM - PeterkSharma: ^^ could be worse
    Sep 3, 2015 11:07 AM - PeterkSharma: rgr
Sep 3, 2015 11:08 AM - daniel871: I just used the tubing that came with my v6s (chose the Bowden option though).
Sep 3, 2015 11:08 AM - jbigler1986: i have bought 5' two or three times from amazon. no issues with it
Sep 3, 2015 11:08 AM - daniel871: But that's for a Hercustruder where I have PTFE going in and going from the struder to the hotend.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:09 AM - PeterkSharma: Yeah its $16 for 5 feel or 19 for 10
Sep 3, 2015 11:09 AM - daniel871: Buy 10', use what you need, then use the rest on a panic-attack inducing mockup of a catheter and hang it from a wall somewhere.
Sep 3, 2015 11:10 AM - jbigler1986: the ptfe going into the hercustruder isn't really needed
    Sep 3, 2015 11:10 AM - daniel871: I know, just have about 2" on the incoming end.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:11 AM - daniel871: I only did it "just because".
    Sep 3, 2015 11:11 AM - jbigler1986: it won't hurt anything
    Sep 3, 2015 11:11 AM - daniel871: That $40 semiflex someone found yesterday is only .5kg.
Sep 3, 2015 11:12 AM - daniel871: Just got a response from Amazon about it where I posted a question asking how much filament was actually on the spool since the listing didn't say.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:13 AM - jbigler1986: not easy to find a 2mm drill bit
    Sep 3, 2015 11:14 AM - donhuevo: http://www.mscdirect.com/product/de...gle-PLA+-+Test&CS_003=7867724&CS_010=01076082
    Sep 3, 2015 11:15 AM - jbigler1986: in a B&M store that is
    Sep 3, 2015 11:15 AM - daniel871: 3/16 will be pretty close for what you're doing.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:15 AM - daniel871: Wait, no.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:16 AM - daniel871: Christ, 13/64. Sorry
    Sep 3, 2015 11:16 AM - daniel871: I'll get my fraction right in a second.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:17 AM - jbigler1986: 5/64th
Sep 3, 2015 11:17 AM - daniel871: 5/64 was what I used, the other was drilling out hole on the hercustruder for the OD of the tube.
Sep 3, 2015 11:18 AM - daniel871: For the clamp bit that the nut will be held by, not the actual hole leading to the gear.
Sep 3, 2015 11:18 AM - daniel871: For some reason that hole came out too small.
Sep 3, 2015 11:20 AM - jbigler1986: the extruder holes are good to go. i widened those when i had to edit the hercustruder
Sep 3, 2015 11:26 AM - jbigler1986: i need to print the last part for the carriage
Sep 3, 2015 11:26 AM - daniel871: On a side note, the soundtrack for that Metal Gear game is amazing. Opening song when you start the game is David Bowie's The Man That Sold The World.
Sep 3, 2015 11:29 AM - Mike Glass: sure its not Nirvana?
    Sep 3, 2015 11:30 AM - daniel871: Pretty sure.
Sep 3, 2015 11:30 AM - daniel871: Doesn't sound anything like Nirvana and the credit for it says it's from 1970.
Sep 3, 2015 11:31 AM - Mike Glass: is there a link to listen?
Sep 3, 2015 11:32 AM - daniel871: Several shared recordings where people played it and uploaded as they played.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:32 AM - daniel871: Here's one:
Sep 3, 2015 11:33 AM - daniel871: They're just playing it from the soundtrack section of the game instead of the actual intro though.
Sep 3, 2015 11:33 AM - daniel871: LOL "She Blinded Me With Science" is in the game too.
Sep 3, 2015 11:33 AM - Mike Glass: LOL, thats great
Sep 3, 2015 11:34 AM - Mike Glass: Europe, the final countdown also
Sep 3, 2015 11:34 AM - daniel871: Haha, that person set The Final Countdown as their helicopter drop off/pickup music.
Sep 3, 2015 11:34 AM - daniel871: Here's the intro someone recorded on their Xbox version of the game.
Sep 3, 2015 11:35 AM - daniel871: Turns out the actual version in the intro is by some band called Midge Ure, but the in-game one you get later is the David Bowie one.
Sep 3, 2015 11:37 AM - daniel871: Game is kind of slow to get going because it works hard to sell that you're someone waking up from a 9 year coma.
    Sep 3, 2015 11:39 AM - jbigler1986: i am tired as hell
Sep 3, 2015 11:41 AM - Mike Glass: thats what I feel like.
Sep 3, 2015 11:42 AM - jbigler1986: i was good until i went to lunch. then holy hell
Sep 3, 2015 11:45 AM - Mike Glass: go purge, then you will wake up..lol
    Sep 3, 2015 11:51 AM - daniel871: What was lunch?
    Sep 3, 2015 11:52 AM - jbigler1986: lettuce wrap at a local pub
    Sep 3, 2015 11:52 AM - jbigler1986: nothing heavy
Sep 3, 2015 11:53 AM - Mike Glass: Turkey by chance?
    Sep 3, 2015 11:54 AM - jbigler1986: chicken

Sep 3, 2015 11:55 AM - Mike Kelly: i really want some irwins, mine are just cheap harbor freights
    Sep 3, 2015 11:56 AM - jbigler1986: i have 2 irwins then 2 cheap ones
Sep 3, 2015 11:57 AM - jbigler1986: gonna thread the ptfe when i get home. if it fails i'm moving on to building my file cabinet
    Sep 3, 2015 11:59 AM - Mike Glass: lol
Sep 3, 2015 11:59 AM - Mike Glass: If I were in tx I would jump on those clamps
Sep 3, 2015 11:59 AM - jbigler1986: Hey MK. I think we will be selling our chairs soon really soon. Can get it for you for like $100

    Sep 3, 2015 12:00 PM - jbigler1986: I will give you a heads up when I get a date
    Sep 3, 2015 12:00 PM - jbigler1986: red wings right?
Sep 3, 2015 12:00 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm trying to decide between a red wings or texas tech

    Sep 3, 2015 12:03 PM - jbigler1986: question for you guys
    Sep 3, 2015 12:04 PM - jbigler1986: way off topic
    Sep 3, 2015 12:04 PM - Mike Glass: im married dude...haha
Sep 3, 2015 12:04 PM - jbigler1986: Does it make any sense that they are using tax dollars for court with the Tom Brady case
Sep 3, 2015 12:05 PM - Mike Glass: Isnt he dead as broke?
Sep 3, 2015 12:05 PM - Mike Kelly: no i can't believe that went to public court, seems like something they needed to resolve privately
    Sep 3, 2015 12:06 PM - daniel871: I thought that case was thrown out?
Sep 3, 2015 12:06 PM - Mike Kelly: they did
Sep 3, 2015 12:06 PM - daniel871: And it's not new, they did similar stuff for the steroids in baseball stuff so it set precedents.
Sep 3, 2015 12:06 PM - jbigler1986: it makes 0 sense to me at all
Sep 3, 2015 12:07 PM - Mike Kelly: our courts are used so frivolously it makes me angry
    Sep 3, 2015 12:07 PM - jbigler1986: Tom Brady's suspension was overturned today
Sep 3, 2015 12:08 PM - jbigler1986: So basically anything the commissioner does doesn't really matter
Sep 3, 2015 12:08 PM - daniel871: They probably did the public court thing so that any backlash would be directed at the courts instead of the companies running the teams.
Sep 3, 2015 12:08 PM - Mike Kelly: only 2 of the last 10 people actually got suspended when the commissioner said they should be
Sep 3, 2015 12:09 PM - Mike Kelly: those 2 were indefinite suspensions though
Sep 3, 2015 12:09 PM - Mike Kelly: like fucking michael vick
    Sep 3, 2015 12:09 PM - Sonny's Robo3D: anyone heard anything on lead screws shipments? tomorrow? ;-)
    Sep 3, 2015 12:09 PM - daniel871: Always Tomorrow.
Sep 3, 2015 12:10 PM - Mike Kelly: tomorrow indeed
Sep 3, 2015 12:10 PM - Mike Kelly: until friday
Sep 3, 2015 12:10 PM - Mike Kelly: then not tomorrow because that would be saturday
Sep 3, 2015 12:10 PM - Mike Kelly: but once we get to sunday, then tomorrow
    Sep 3, 2015 12:10 PM - daniel871: Nope, Monday is a holiday.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:10 PM - jbigler1986: nope. monday is a holiday
    Sep 3, 2015 12:10 PM - jbigler1986: haha
    Sep 3, 2015 12:10 PM - daniel871: Ha!
    Sep 3, 2015 12:10 PM - Sonny's Robo3D: there goes tomorrow
Sep 3, 2015 12:11 PM - Sonny's Robo3D: Still stuck in customs? or they came all bent from china?
Sep 3, 2015 12:11 PM - daniel871: I'm thinking the 2nd one and they don't want to say anything because they're contemplating shipping them anyway to buy time until the next set comes in.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:12 PM - jbigler1986: i'm thinking they don't even have them
    Sep 3, 2015 12:12 PM - Mike Glass: haha
Sep 3, 2015 12:12 PM - daniel871: Yeah, "pics or it didn't happen" would be nice to pull in the thread about them the next time an update is posted. :p
Sep 3, 2015 12:13 PM - daniel871: Hey Mike, did you pull the trigger on a Rambo as well, or you waiting to see how it works for me?

Sep 3, 2015 12:14 PM - jbigler1986: MK did you install the ir sensor
    Sep 3, 2015 12:14 PM - jbigler1986: don, you have quiet lately
Sep 3, 2015 12:14 PM - Mike Glass: MK did you see the printer that prints glass.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:14 PM - daniel871: Hong Kong, Don.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:14 PM - daniel871: According to Google.
Sep 3, 2015 12:14 PM - donhuevo: were they even in WWII?
    Sep 3, 2015 12:15 PM - daniel871: Maybe technically.
Sep 3, 2015 12:15 PM - Bigc: When they say tomorrow the only thing i can of is this
    Sep 3, 2015 12:15 PM - Bigc: think of
Sep 3, 2015 12:15 PM - daniel871: Yeah, they were fighting the Japanese on that side of things when they were invaded.
Sep 3, 2015 12:15 PM - Mike Kelly: daniel if i rewire everything and still have issues i'll buy it

    Sep 3, 2015 12:18 PM - jbigler1986: ir sensor
Sep 3, 2015 12:18 PM - Mike Kelly: the ir sensor is really small, like surprisingly small
    Sep 3, 2015 12:19 PM - daniel871: Tom's review of the Rambo board:
Sep 3, 2015 12:21 PM - Mike Kelly: did your rambo have built in stepper drivers
    Sep 3, 2015 12:28 PM - daniel871: Yes. Firmware controlled voltages.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:28 PM - daniel871: Very excited about that.
Sep 3, 2015 12:28 PM - Mike Kelly: where did you buy it again

    Sep 3, 2015 12:29 PM - daniel871: I got the 1.3 vs. the 1.1 tom talks about.
Sep 3, 2015 12:30 PM - Mike Kelly: woof that price
    Sep 3, 2015 12:30 PM - jbigler1986: damn
Sep 3, 2015 12:31 PM - Mike Glass: holy helllllll
    Sep 3, 2015 12:32 PM - jbigler1986: no thanks
Sep 3, 2015 12:32 PM - daniel871: Paying for buying it from the original designers (according to the bit in Tom's video about them coming up with it).
    Sep 3, 2015 12:32 PM - jbigler1986: you can buy a tiko for that price. :D
    Sep 3, 2015 12:32 PM - Mike Glass: haha
    Sep 3, 2015 12:32 PM - Mike Kelly: i support that but damn i can't afford that
Sep 3, 2015 12:33 PM - daniel871: Yeah, but it was delivered today vs. the Tiko never shipping.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:33 PM - daniel871: :p
Sep 3, 2015 12:33 PM - daniel871: I like that everything was integrated and there being no physical dials to adjust anywhere. Just fuses to replace and firmware to modify.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:34 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah it's a really nice board
    Sep 3, 2015 12:34 PM - Mike Kelly: i'd buy it if i could
Sep 3, 2015 12:35 PM - Mike Glass: wouldnt a smothieboard be about the same thing?
Sep 3, 2015 12:35 PM - daniel871: Not sure, was mainly looking for something largely compatible with the Marlin firmware.
Sep 3, 2015 12:36 PM - Mike Kelly: yup, you can't use marlin then
    Sep 3, 2015 12:36 PM - daniel871: Marlin = Rambo, Smoothieboard = something else.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:36 PM - Mike Kelly: smoothieware
    Sep 3, 2015 12:37 PM - daniel871: Well, that makes sense then.
Sep 3, 2015 12:37 PM - daniel871: Ah, what kind of crimper was it that was needed for the thermistor wire plugs again? I think I'm going to get a proper tool to use instead of needle nose pliers.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:38 PM - jbigler1986: soldering iron. :D
Sep 3, 2015 12:38 PM - daniel871: Same tool will be used for some of the connectors on the Rambo as well.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:38 PM - daniel871: Ha, no.
    Sep 3, 2015 12:38 PM - jbigler1986: why not
Sep 3, 2015 12:38 PM - donhuevo: place soldering iron on crimp. Hit soldering iron with hammer
    Sep 3, 2015 12:38 PM - Mike Kelly: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OMM4YUY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 these are what i bought

Sep 3, 2015 12:40 PM - Bigc: When i add the 2 extruder to my printer do i have to add another stepper driver
    Sep 3, 2015 12:40 PM - jbigler1986: yep
    Sep 3, 2015 12:40 PM - Mike Kelly: yes
    Sep 3, 2015 12:40 PM - jbigler1986: good to have spares anyways
Sep 3, 2015 12:41 PM - Bigc: But i don't have to change them all on
    Sep 3, 2015 12:41 PM - Bigc: on = out
Sep 3, 2015 12:41 PM - donhuevo: no, just add the one additional
Sep 3, 2015 12:41 PM - Mike Glass: I have that one as well Daniel
Sep 3, 2015 12:43 PM - Mike Glass: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CGWVFWW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 need these as well
Sep 3, 2015 12:43 PM - Mike Glass: if they are just like the robo pins

    Sep 3, 2015 12:54 PM - jbigler1986: I just saw a post about a glass 3d printer. It was epic
Sep 3, 2015 12:58 PM - Mike Kelly: haha i hate you all
    Sep 3, 2015 12:58 PM - Mike Glass: lol

Sep 3, 2015 1:03 PM - Mike Glass: thats what happens when you let a capenter hook up electronics. had it happen here before.
    Sep 3, 2015 1:04 PM - donhuevo: that's some craftsmanship right there
Sep 3, 2015 1:05 PM - jbigler1986: question is. which one was installed first?
Sep 3, 2015 1:05 PM - Mike Kelly: just cut the screen in half, problem solved
Sep 3, 2015 1:05 PM - donhuevo: no just put a hole in the screen for the channel
Sep 3, 2015 1:06 PM - donhuevo: may already be there
Sep 3, 2015 1:06 PM - jbigler1986: I would hope the screen was installed first. if not that makes it even worse
    Sep 3, 2015 1:07 PM - Mike Kelly: i'd buy that
Sep 3, 2015 1:09 PM - Mike Kelly: crazy to me there's 10 core processors now
Sep 3, 2015 1:09 PM - Mike Glass: not sure what the poop on the wall represents.
Sep 3, 2015 1:09 PM - Mike Kelly: oh phones no less
    Sep 3, 2015 1:09 PM - Mike Kelly: that's his signature
Sep 3, 2015 1:09 PM - Mike Kelly: he does crap work
Sep 3, 2015 1:10 PM - Mike Glass: we have 16 core processors in or vm environment that are 32 threads when hpyervised.
Sep 3, 2015 1:10 PM - daniel871: Move the screen to the other side of the room and rotate the projector. Solved.
Sep 3, 2015 1:12 PM - Mike Glass: let me correct that when two sockets are installed.
    Sep 3, 2015 1:14 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah that's different

Sep 3, 2015 1:16 PM - Mike Glass: well depending on memory, but the have 400 gigs of memory each
Sep 3, 2015 1:18 PM - Mike Kelly: vapor polishing is seriously the best thing
Sep 3, 2015 1:19 PM - Mike Glass: only in an enclosed space
Sep 3, 2015 1:19 PM - Mike Kelly: not following
Sep 3, 2015 1:20 PM - Mike Glass: well you would probably be dead if you did..lol
    Sep 3, 2015 1:22 PM - jbigler1986: with no fans
Sep 3, 2015 1:22 PM - Mike Kelly: i've lit the vapor on fire before
    Sep 3, 2015 1:23 PM - Mike Kelly: it's not really a big deal
Sep 3, 2015 1:23 PM - jbigler1986: well it was nice knowing you MK
    Sep 3, 2015 1:23 PM - Mike Kelly: haha
Sep 3, 2015 1:24 PM - donhuevo: dad used to light his farts on fire til mom bought him flammable pajamas
    Sep 3, 2015 1:25 PM - Mike Glass: haha
Sep 3, 2015 1:26 PM - Mike Glass: don do you have a dict for me
    Sep 3, 2015 1:26 PM - Mike Kelly: everone wants don's dicts
Sep 3, 2015 1:26 PM - donhuevo: no sir and I'll thank you not to ask again
Sep 3, 2015 1:27 PM - Mike Glass: its just plastic don!
    Sep 3, 2015 1:27 PM - donhuevo: true
Sep 3, 2015 1:32 PM - donhuevo: I'm back to the drawing board on the whole dict thing. Now I'm thinking I need the entire dict to live below the bottom of the heater block. It'll have a little less than the nozzle height
Sep 3, 2015 1:33 PM - donhuevo: Something to add to the holiday weekend list
Sep 3, 2015 1:36 PM - Mike Glass: yea, gonna work on mine as well
Sep 3, 2015 1:50 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm finally putting my engine back together
Sep 3, 2015 1:50 PM - Mike Kelly: moves a bit smoother now
Sep 3, 2015 1:50 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm considering removing some material from the crank shaft, rubs against the ends
    Sep 3, 2015 1:50 PM - donhuevo: 10w40
    Sep 3, 2015 1:51 PM - donhuevo: boom
Sep 3, 2015 1:52 PM - Mike Kelly: actually now that all the bearings are tightened down it moves pretty smooth
Sep 3, 2015 1:52 PM - Mike Glass: Silicone of 350 cst or greater
Sep 3, 2015 1:52 PM - Mike Kelly: i'll use superlube once it's all assembled
Sep 3, 2015 1:52 PM - donhuevo: as long as it won't be missed from the nightstand...
    Sep 3, 2015 1:53 PM - Mike Glass: haha
Sep 3, 2015 1:53 PM - Mike Kelly: only reason superlube should be in the bedroom is for drawer slides
Sep 3, 2015 1:54 PM - donhuevo: it's a big world and there are enough stupid people in it that pretty much every stupid thing that could be done is being done
Sep 3, 2015 1:55 PM - Mike Kelly: people are monumentally stupid
Sep 3, 2015 1:55 PM - donhuevo: and someone has already tried to have sex with a monument using superlube. I guarantee it
Sep 3, 2015 1:55 PM - Mike Glass: what works best on furniture is actually paste wax. Just FYI
    Sep 3, 2015 1:55 PM - Mike Kelly: rule 34
Sep 3, 2015 1:56 PM - PeterkSharma: Anyone hear about this chick in Kentucky refusing to sign marriage license for gay couples? I guess federal court threw her in jail hahahhahaha
Sep 3, 2015 1:57 PM - Mike Kelly: contempt of court yeah
Sep 3, 2015 1:57 PM - Mike Kelly: she sounds like a winner
Sep 3, 2015 1:57 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm sure her 3 ex husbands would agree
Sep 3, 2015 2:00 PM - donhuevo: all three were her cousins and two of them were each other's brother
    Sep 3, 2015 2:01 PM - donhuevo: but seriously... is robo y smooth rods center-to-center 224mm?
Sep 3, 2015 2:01 PM - Mike Kelly: and then the ex-husbands got married out of a mutual connection for their hatred for her hence the rage
Sep 3, 2015 2:01 PM - Mike Kelly: lemme check my model
Sep 3, 2015 2:04 PM - Mike Kelly: don, yes
Sep 3, 2015 2:04 PM - donhuevo: cool! that's what it looked like but wasn't totally sure. thank you
    Sep 3, 2015 2:07 PM - bamhm182: Hey guys, how's it going?
Sep 3, 2015 2:07 PM - daniel871: I'm surprised there were that many same sex couples in Kentucky
    Sep 3, 2015 2:07 PM - donhuevo: hey bam
Sep 3, 2015 2:08 PM - bamhm182: The ex-husbands are the ones she refused to sign the marriage certificate for
Sep 3, 2015 2:09 PM - bamhm182: Got my E3D v6 in today, also got a bunch of Nylon twist locks, so needless to say, my printer is going to be broke as hell in a few hours
Sep 3, 2015 2:11 PM - bamhm182: Planning on tossing in the v6, seeing if it would be a good idea to modify the current bed cable so it reaches behind the printer like the new ones, instead of going through that hole under the bed. It always seems to get bound up there for me recently

Sep 3, 2015 2:11 PM - bamhm182: Also, going to try and do a good deal of cable management and general cleaning
    Sep 3, 2015 2:12 PM - donhuevo: [IMG]
Sep 3, 2015 2:13 PM - bamhm182: That works pretty well for you?
    Sep 3, 2015 2:13 PM - donhuevo: it can't bind anymore
    Sep 3, 2015 2:14 PM - bamhm182: Is that on Thingiverse?
    Sep 3, 2015 2:14 PM - donhuevo: it is
    Sep 3, 2015 2:14 PM - bamhm182: Sweet, I think I'm going to give that a try first
    Sep 3, 2015 2:14 PM - donhuevo: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:384066
Sep 3, 2015 2:15 PM - bamhm182: I was also thinking about adding cable chains like that to the carriage after seeing how nice it looks in Novice Expert's setup
Sep 3, 2015 2:16 PM - donhuevo: it is a nice clean look
Sep 3, 2015 2:17 PM - bamhm182: Agreed, the green and black scheme looks pretty slick too
Sep 3, 2015 2:17 PM - donhuevo: oh, I was talking about novice's machine but thank you
    Sep 3, 2015 2:18 PM - bamhm182: Well I mean, they're both the same, just different places
Sep 3, 2015 2:18 PM - donhuevo: I don't think he used my chain design but yep, the principle is the same
Sep 3, 2015 2:19 PM - bamhm182: Right now I've got some cable sleeving over it. It works and looks better than it did before, but the cable sleeving keeps pushing through the heat shrink tubing. Probably because I didn't use small enough tubing, but I'd still like to redo it
Sep 3, 2015 2:20 PM - Mike Glass: man get rid of those connectors those are from the 70's..lol
Sep 3, 2015 2:21 PM - donhuevo: my deans connector is good for 30A. #suckit
Sep 3, 2015 2:22 PM - bamhm182: I've got an 8-pin PCI-e power cable running up to the carriage so that I could easily swap out hotends if I wanted to quickly switch between say the cyclops and the v6. I might see what I can do about creating a link that can attach to the PCI-e end, but that's a project for another day
    Sep 3, 2015 2:22 PM - Mike Glass: you need Xt-60 to for 6 amps. #suckthis
    Sep 3, 2015 2:22 PM - Mike Glass: err 60 amps i meant
Sep 3, 2015 2:24 PM - Mike Glass: You just need a hot glue gun Bam
Sep 3, 2015 2:25 PM - donhuevo: if mg has his way, it'll be a hot glue gun that saves the world from the apocalypse
Sep 3, 2015 2:26 PM - Mike Glass: well if you think about it, its just a hand held 3d printer.
Sep 3, 2015 2:26 PM - donhuevo: threads too loose... hot glue gun. messy wiring... hot glue gun. sore throat... hot glue gun
Sep 3, 2015 2:27 PM - donhuevo: having trouble getting or keeping an erection... hot glue gun
Sep 3, 2015 2:28 PM - donhuevo: I'm kinda kicking myself right now for not having one
Sep 3, 2015 2:29 PM - Mike Glass: oh the erectile issue again?
    Sep 3, 2015 2:29 PM - Bigc: Would this be sufficient http://www.amazon.com/Mcdectech-A49...&ie=UTF8&qid=1441315874&sr=1-4&keywords=a4988
Sep 3, 2015 2:29 PM - Mike Glass: I ordered the same ones. good for backups
    Sep 3, 2015 2:30 PM - bamhm182: Didn't think of that, MG. Worth a shot
Sep 3, 2015 2:30 PM - Mike Glass: or if you really want you could go to the 8825 drivers.
Sep 3, 2015 2:30 PM - bamhm182: I often talk about hot glue guns when explaining how a 3D printer works to new people, so yeah, I agree that it's basically a hand held 3d printer
Sep 3, 2015 2:31 PM - Mike Glass: and you can print pla glue sticks also, if it gets hot enough
Sep 3, 2015 2:31 PM - bamhm182: One thing to consider with the 8825s is that the pots are MUCH more sensitive
Sep 3, 2015 2:32 PM - bamhm182: The same amount of turning that you would do on a 4988 will turn up the 8825 a LOT more
Sep 3, 2015 2:32 PM - Mike Glass: im not sure why you had issues with that bam, I used a metal screwdriver connected to a multimeter when I set mine up without issue.
Sep 3, 2015 2:33 PM - bamhm182: A LOT of my issues came from the fact that I was thinking about it backwards and not using my multimeter
Sep 3, 2015 2:33 PM - Mike Glass: thats the nice thing about them, you dont have to run as much power either.
Sep 3, 2015 2:33 PM - bamhm182: For the longest time, I was thinking that clockwise turned it up, when in reality, clockwise turns them down
Sep 3, 2015 2:34 PM - bamhm182: So for a long time, I was turning mine until it had too much voltage, then slowly turning it down until the voltage was just high enough that it would work, then a bit more
Sep 3, 2015 2:34 PM - bamhm182: I've got it figured out now though, thank god. It just cost me a month and a little bit of money
Sep 3, 2015 2:34 PM - Mike Glass: you didnt watch the video first did ya..lol
Sep 3, 2015 2:35 PM - bamhm182: Was it mentioned in there? *facepalm*
Sep 3, 2015 2:36 PM - Mike Glass: first thing I do when I dont know what im doing..
Sep 3, 2015 2:37 PM - Bigc: So does anybody have a good place to buy a Second hobbed bolt
Sep 3, 2015 2:38 PM - Mike Glass: you wore it out?
    Sep 3, 2015 2:38 PM - daniel871: Filastruder or tridprinting right?
Sep 3, 2015 2:39 PM - Mike Glass: this is the one I watched bam
    Sep 3, 2015 2:40 PM - daniel871: http://www.filastruder.com/products/hobb-goblin-8mm-hobbed-shaft-kit
    Sep 3, 2015 2:40 PM - Bigc: I just bought 2 e3dv6s i need a way of running it and mike recommend A wade's extruter
    Sep 3, 2015 2:40 PM - daniel871: Bigc
Sep 3, 2015 2:41 PM - daniel871: That link I just posted will get you set up.
Sep 3, 2015 2:42 PM - Mike Glass: Im trying the bic flintsaint struder, seems promising, no special gears or anything but a stepper a and few bearings.
    Sep 3, 2015 2:42 PM - bamhm182: I bought mine on eBay
    Sep 3, 2015 2:42 PM - bamhm182: #NoRagrats
Sep 3, 2015 2:43 PM - Mike Glass: they should really be around $5
Sep 3, 2015 2:43 PM - bamhm182: Seriously though, it worked and was dirt cheap
Sep 3, 2015 2:43 PM - Mike Glass: how much bam
    Sep 3, 2015 2:44 PM - bamhm182: Don't remember, hold on
    Sep 3, 2015 2:45 PM - bamhm182: $6.50
    Sep 3, 2015 2:46 PM - bamhm182: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Robo-3D-Hob...st-from-USA-/221562560673?hash=item33962860a1
    Sep 3, 2015 2:47 PM - bamhm182: I like your style better though, daniel.
Sep 3, 2015 2:50 PM - bamhm182: Pretty good video, MG. He goes into a TON of detail
Sep 3, 2015 2:51 PM - Kevin Nguyen: should my filament be making squeeky noises as i print?
    Sep 3, 2015 2:51 PM - bamhm182: The filament itself?
Sep 3, 2015 2:51 PM - Kevin Nguyen: like the printhead and the layer before it are squeeking lol
    Sep 3, 2015 2:52 PM - bamhm182: What brand filament?
Sep 3, 2015 2:52 PM - Kevin Nguyen: cheap brand idr
Sep 3, 2015 2:52 PM - Kevin Nguyen: its been in my closet for months
    Sep 3, 2015 2:52 PM - bamhm182: Well then maybe
    Sep 3, 2015 2:52 PM - bamhm182: You use an oiler?
    Sep 3, 2015 2:52 PM - Kevin Nguyen: nope
Sep 3, 2015 2:52 PM - Kevin Nguyen: should put one on shouldnt i?
    Sep 3, 2015 2:53 PM - bamhm182: I don't have one, but I probably should
Sep 3, 2015 2:53 PM - bamhm182: It might help with the squeeking since my random guess is that it's coming from friction in the hot end, but I can't say for sure
    Sep 3, 2015 2:54 PM - Mike Glass: squeaky filament..lol
Sep 3, 2015 2:54 PM - Mike Glass: probably the extruder bearings
Sep 3, 2015 2:54 PM - Kevin Nguyen: i found the brand. its aspetek
    Sep 3, 2015 2:55 PM - Kevin Nguyen: aspectek**
    Sep 3, 2015 2:55 PM - donhuevo: bless you
Sep 3, 2015 2:55 PM - bamhm182: That sounds like it would make more sense
Sep 3, 2015 2:55 PM - Kevin Nguyen: thank you
Sep 3, 2015 2:55 PM - Mike Glass: try to push the filament through by hand, does it extrude easily?
Sep 3, 2015 2:55 PM - Kevin Nguyen: it does.
Sep 3, 2015 2:55 PM - Kevin Nguyen: should i oil my smooth rods?
    Sep 3, 2015 2:55 PM - Mike Glass: yes
Sep 3, 2015 2:55 PM - Kevin Nguyen: and with what
Sep 3, 2015 2:56 PM - Mike Glass: always oil your rods and screws
Sep 3, 2015 2:56 PM - Mike Glass: I use sewing machine oil
    Sep 3, 2015 2:56 PM - Mike Glass: 3n1 would work also
    Sep 3, 2015 2:56 PM - donhuevo: or a hot glue gun
    Sep 3, 2015 2:56 PM - bamhm182: hahaha
Sep 3, 2015 2:56 PM - Kevin Nguyen: hmm all i have on hand is gun oil O.O
Sep 3, 2015 2:56 PM - Mike Glass: some use lithium, but dont like the looks of it when it turns black.
Sep 3, 2015 2:57 PM - bamhm182: I didn't see anything about stepper driver calibration in that video, MG
    Sep 3, 2015 2:57 PM - Mike Glass: maybe part2
Sep 3, 2015 2:57 PM - Kevin Nguyen: so any news on those lead screws?
    Sep 3, 2015 2:58 PM - bamhm182: Oh, yeah, probably
Sep 3, 2015 2:58 PM - bamhm182: Harry said that he would send me new ones as soon as he gets mine back
    Sep 3, 2015 2:58 PM - Mike Glass:

    Sep 3, 2015 2:58 PM - bamhm182: Thanks
Sep 3, 2015 2:59 PM - Mike Glass: I used super glue on my heat sinks they are still on..woot
    Sep 3, 2015 3:00 PM - bamhm182: Haha, I mean, whatever works, right?
Sep 3, 2015 3:01 PM - Mike Glass: that one doesnt show it though, hmm
Sep 3, 2015 3:02 PM - Sonny's Robo3D: I use Lithium grease and it works great but you have to clean it up after a few weeks and reapply - gets messy.
Sep 3, 2015 3:02 PM - Sonny's Robo3D: Been asking around about the lead screws - still no word.
Sep 3, 2015 3:03 PM - Kevin Nguyen: so its been almost a year of owning my r1 and the one thing i have yet to fix is my heated bed wire getting snagged after 3 or so prints
Sep 3, 2015 3:04 PM - bamhm182: Wait, did I just write that? It came up under Kevin's name...
    Sep 3, 2015 3:04 PM - bamhm182: Haha, just kidding
    Sep 3, 2015 3:04 PM - bamhm182: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:384066/#comments
Sep 3, 2015 3:05 PM - bamhm182: I'm going to print that out and fix my heated bed wire as I'm also having the same problem
Sep 3, 2015 3:05 PM - Kevin Nguyen: oh nice. and made by don
Sep 3, 2015 3:05 PM - bamhm182: We were talking about that like 30 minutes back. Don posted a picture. Looks pretty slick
    Sep 3, 2015 3:05 PM - Mike Glass: its a trojan
Sep 3, 2015 3:06 PM - donhuevo: yep. totally photoshopped
Sep 3, 2015 3:06 PM - bamhm182: Alright, well, I'm going to let the breaking of my printer commence. I'll be around
    Sep 3, 2015 3:06 PM - bamhm182: sort of
Sep 3, 2015 3:07 PM - Mike Kelly: i would ask robo about the lead screws, but i'm sure they'd have some excuse as to why it hasn't shipped yet
Sep 3, 2015 3:07 PM - Mike Glass: tomorrow MK
    Sep 3, 2015 3:08 PM - Mike Kelly: right?
Sep 3, 2015 3:08 PM - Sonny's Robo3D: They should just put a note everyday in the thread "Hey guys, not today" so at least we don't have to wonder
Sep 3, 2015 3:09 PM - Mike Kelly: that would take effort on their part
    Sep 3, 2015 3:12 PM - Kevin Nguyen: so much effort :(
Sep 3, 2015 3:14 PM - Mike Kelly: this is why they don't like doing upgrade kits
Sep 3, 2015 3:16 PM - NFOsec: So, is it easier to jump off a short bridge or have a pictorial of how to remove the extruder to check for clogs?
Sep 3, 2015 3:17 PM - Mike Kelly: watch this NFO: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zbxooxjflp44m82/Extruder and Nozzle Removal.mp4?dl=0
    Sep 3, 2015 3:17 PM - Kevin Nguyen: jump
Sep 3, 2015 3:17 PM - NFOsec: Will do Mike, thanks.
Sep 3, 2015 3:17 PM - Kevin Nguyen: its faster
Sep 3, 2015 3:18 PM - NFOsec: @Kev haha. true, but a long bridge with a short jump is always my favorite.
Sep 3, 2015 3:19 PM - Kevin Nguyen: hey mike is there a quiet 25mm fan or all they all just loud
Sep 3, 2015 3:20 PM - NFOsec: Well, when you're like ME, noise pollution doesn't matter (deaf), but if that baby rumbles, the vibrations would be irritating.
Sep 3, 2015 3:21 PM - NFOsec: Mike: Thanks, good video of a hand model (and removal too).
Sep 3, 2015 3:21 PM - Kevin Nguyen: Don't meet many deaf people anymore. must be irritating to feel some vibrations and cant find them
Sep 3, 2015 3:22 PM - bamhm182: I just bought the E3D v6 kit and was blown away with how quiet the fan was at 12v
Sep 3, 2015 3:22 PM - NFOsec: Yeah, we try to stay silent and deadly.
Sep 3, 2015 3:22 PM - bamhm182: All the other 25mm fans I've found are loud as hell
Sep 3, 2015 3:22 PM - Mike Kelly: 25mm are either stupid loud but good airflow, or quiet but no airflow
Sep 3, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: for cooling the hot end i'd suggest the former
    Sep 3, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: or upgrade to a 30mm fan
Sep 3, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: i guess i should add transcription for ya nfo
    Sep 3, 2015 3:25 PM - NFOsec: you kidding/ I can lipread well manicured hands. :)
Sep 3, 2015 3:26 PM - NFOsec: Actually, I use a program called Write & Read Gold, darn pricey tool, but it's better than any Google Translate or tool out there that I know...
Sep 3, 2015 3:26 PM - Mike Kelly: haha glad you like my hands
Sep 3, 2015 3:27 PM - NFOsec: My favorite is when you removed the first spring-loaded screw - normal speed, then suddenly it's like super-powers at 50x to rmove the other. blurrrrr..
    Sep 3, 2015 3:27 PM - Mike Kelly: hahaha
Sep 3, 2015 3:28 PM - NFOsec: I can't figure out what you were doing at 2:21-29, a mysterious pliers pulled out nothing.
    Sep 3, 2015 3:28 PM - Mike Glass: ha you had a leaky heatbreak..lol
Sep 3, 2015 3:28 PM - Bigc: What type of bearing do i need for well this if any http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:828849/#files
Sep 3, 2015 3:29 PM - Mike Kelly: right mike? that made me laugh
Sep 3, 2015 3:30 PM - Mike Glass: You were "surprised" really..lol ok off to home.
Sep 3, 2015 3:30 PM - Mike Kelly: NFO i was saying sometimes you can grab the broken filament from there, then i cut my filament out so i didn't need to heat it up to remove it
    Sep 3, 2015 3:31 PM - Mike Kelly: BigC you use 608zz's
    Sep 3, 2015 3:31 PM - Mike Kelly: http://poliapof.blogspot.com/2014/10/assembly-of-extruder-gregs-wade-reloaded.html
Sep 3, 2015 3:32 PM - Kevin Nguyen: mike if i went up to a 40mm for the heat sink would that be sufficient cooling?
Sep 3, 2015 3:32 PM - Mike Kelly: yup, just kinda hard to fit cause it's longer than the hexagon
Sep 3, 2015 3:33 PM - NFOsec: yeah, I kind of figured you tweezed, then you squeezed. With my ZenbotCNC, I retrofitted a 3Dprinter to it and was using Mach3/Simplify3D and had a awesome all-metal extruder that never clogged.
    Sep 3, 2015 3:34 PM - bamhm182: I wouldn't recommend that one Bigc
    Sep 3, 2015 3:34 PM - bamhm182: Well actually, nevermind
Sep 3, 2015 3:34 PM - NFOsec: http://www.micron3dp.com/ was what I had used. I hear alot about others upgrading to new ones, what's the primary reason they do?
Sep 3, 2015 3:34 PM - bamhm182: It worked pretty well and then I screwed up the stepper driver and the motor got too hot and warped the print
Sep 3, 2015 3:34 PM - Mike Kelly: their extruder is stupid expensive
    Sep 3, 2015 3:35 PM - Mike Kelly: PLfnA
Sep 3, 2015 3:35 PM - NFOsec: Stupid expensive is stupid does as Forrest Gump would say. :)
Sep 3, 2015 3:35 PM - Mike Kelly: their hot end is interesting I just don't see how they can have their fan mount connected directly to the heater block
Sep 3, 2015 3:36 PM - bamhm182: Either way, you don't need anything except for what you pull off your stock extruder, in addition to a bowden coupler and a nut for the bowden coupler to screw into
Sep 3, 2015 3:36 PM - NFOsec: but, you're right, it was, but it's now around $250 whereas I got in when it was around $160.
    Sep 3, 2015 3:37 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah
Sep 3, 2015 3:37 PM - Mike Kelly: my old coworkers favorite expression was "Nothing exceeds like excess"
Sep 3, 2015 3:37 PM - NFOsec: The concept behind the fan on the heater block is a very innovative heat sink.
Sep 3, 2015 3:38 PM - NFOsec: literally nothing that hot around it, it's all focused to the end.
Sep 3, 2015 3:39 PM - NFOsec: they use a top-swionging clam type assembly (metal) for the feeder which reduces many of the strip, drag, and other issues seen, but for every extruder/hot end you see, there is 10 more out there. :)
Sep 3, 2015 3:41 PM - NFOsec: Mmm... the forearm removal of an extruder was clever Mike. didn't see where the "screw" was you magically rmeoved.
Sep 3, 2015 3:42 PM - Mike Kelly: http://i.imgur.com/9B0nCmf.gifv the way it pops off is so satisfying
Sep 3, 2015 3:42 PM - donhuevo: is that the same video where you called your needle nose vice grips and then a wrench?
Sep 3, 2015 3:42 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah black screws against a black part behind wires = impossible to see
    Sep 3, 2015 3:42 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah that's the one!
Sep 3, 2015 3:43 PM - NFOsec: man, what kind of pressure did that baby have?
    Sep 3, 2015 3:43 PM - NFOsec: great, not only can't I hear, now I can't see.
    Sep 3, 2015 3:43 PM - NFOsec: HA!
Sep 3, 2015 3:45 PM - NFOsec: Does anyone know how many parts it takes to lick a 6 foot Robbie?
    Sep 3, 2015 3:46 PM - Mike Kelly: somewhere around 200
Sep 3, 2015 3:47 PM - Mike Kelly: i should reshoot that clip i think
Sep 3, 2015 3:48 PM - danzca6: To lick a six foot Robbie, just one part, your tongue
    Sep 3, 2015 3:48 PM - danzca6: :)
Sep 3, 2015 3:52 PM - NFOsec: That's cool. I used AutoDesk's 123D Make to laser cut a 6' idiot. stacked pieces was extensive, interlocked was much better.
    Sep 3, 2015 3:52 PM - NFOsec: was over 600.
    Sep 3, 2015 3:52 PM - danzca6: Tough crowd tonight
    Sep 3, 2015 3:53 PM - Mike Kelly: lol
    Sep 3, 2015 3:53 PM - NFOsec: how's that?
Sep 3, 2015 4:00 PM - jbigler1986: got it threaded and installed. test time
    Sep 3, 2015 4:01 PM - donhuevo: the dual?
Sep 3, 2015 4:01 PM - Mike Glass: Mike, you asked about the bosch mount?
Sep 3, 2015 4:02 PM - jbigler1986: not yet. was having extruder issues. i think it was the bowden adapter. threaded a 4mm nut on the ptfe for the hercustruder
Sep 3, 2015 4:02 PM - jbigler1986: the bowden adapter was letting the ptfe slip then the filament would buckle
Sep 3, 2015 4:04 PM - jbigler1986: if this clip prints good then it's time for the dual
    Sep 3, 2015 4:04 PM - donhuevo: fingers crossed
    Sep 3, 2015 4:05 PM - Mike Glass: Dict!
    Sep 3, 2015 4:05 PM - donhuevo: [IMG]
Sep 3, 2015 4:06 PM - Mike Glass: Is that your final answer.

    Sep 3, 2015 4:07 PM - donhuevo: ummmm
Sep 3, 2015 4:07 PM - NFOsec: Almost passes for an "R" for Robo.
Sep 3, 2015 4:08 PM - Mike Glass: Good Eye
Sep 3, 2015 4:09 PM - Mike Glass: Did you try the igus yet Don
Sep 3, 2015 4:10 PM - donhuevo: I'm not tearing apart my only working printer for experiments. I'm working on getting those onto the one that has the bushings right now
Sep 3, 2015 4:10 PM - NFOsec: by design, those "notches" could be made into vents if you're not getting cool.
Sep 3, 2015 4:10 PM - donhuevo: the one with the open builds v-slot z
    Sep 3, 2015 4:11 PM - donhuevo: [IMG]
    Sep 3, 2015 4:11 PM - donhuevo: [IMG]
    Sep 3, 2015 4:11 PM - NFOsec: nice.
    Sep 3, 2015 4:14 PM - donhuevo: thank you
Sep 3, 2015 4:14 PM - donhuevo: but that design was ultimately a failure. didn't account for how fat the hot end heater wires were
Sep 3, 2015 4:16 PM - NFOsec: So, there is a side fan covering the heat sink, two holes above that in a black bracket (both go straight thru to gear on other side), can't see any other "screws" with the black on black... time to pull out the USB microscope....
Sep 3, 2015 4:17 PM - NFOsec: Yeah, most of us can't account for how fat things really are.
Sep 3, 2015 4:17 PM - donhuevo: this'll give you a rough idea where to look... [IMG]
Sep 3, 2015 4:22 PM - Mike Glass: Don like I said just go wireless, its the in thing.
    Sep 3, 2015 4:23 PM - donhuevo: you make a good point.
Sep 3, 2015 4:48 PM - donhuevo: trying to decide if I want to integrate the y pillow block with the z base or keep them separate
Sep 3, 2015 4:49 PM - Bill Monroe: Please, remain seated.
Sep 3, 2015 4:51 PM - donhuevo: shit bill... I was standing when you wrote that
    Sep 3, 2015 4:52 PM - Bill Monroe: no need :)
    Sep 3, 2015 4:52 PM - donhuevo: sitting now
    Sep 3, 2015 4:52 PM - Bill Monroe: what's the latest?
    Sep 3, 2015 4:53 PM - donhuevo: ummmmm....
Sep 3, 2015 4:54 PM - Mike Glass: watching the muppets don?
    Sep 3, 2015 4:54 PM - donhuevo: didn't know I was supposed to
Sep 3, 2015 4:54 PM - donhuevo: I was actually making the dogs chase the laser
    Sep 3, 2015 5:13 PM - jbigler1986: success
    Sep 3, 2015 5:13 PM - jbigler1986: gonna eat the install it
    Sep 3, 2015 5:13 PM - jbigler1986: then*
    Sep 3, 2015 5:13 PM - donhuevo: alrighty
    Sep 3, 2015 5:46 PM - Mike Glass: boom
    Sep 3, 2015 5:48 PM - Bill Monroe: MG
    Sep 3, 2015 5:54 PM - Mike Glass: Bill
    Sep 3, 2015 5:55 PM - jbigler1986: Jogn
    Sep 3, 2015 6:04 PM - Bill Monroe: back
Sep 3, 2015 6:08 PM - NFOsec: donhuevo - I'm not sure if it matters, but I've got the R1+ model and nothing even comes near resembling those screw sets.
Sep 3, 2015 6:08 PM - NFOsec: dinner was good btw.
Sep 3, 2015 6:09 PM - Bill Monroe: I must have missed my invitation
    Sep 3, 2015 6:11 PM - Bill Monroe:
Sep 3, 2015 6:11 PM - NFOsec: well, classic broiled flank steak with parmesan and wortcheshire crust, bow tie pasta (farfel) and a nice balsamic/oil spinach/tomato salad.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:11 PM - Bill Monroe: <-- meat loaf
Sep 3, 2015 6:12 PM - NFOsec: not to mention a rock-a-bye-baby 3D print going on... great hypnosis live feed.
Sep 3, 2015 6:14 PM - Bill Monroe: should take just about 24 hours
    Sep 3, 2015 6:15 PM - NFOsec: that's cool.
Sep 3, 2015 6:16 PM - NFOsec: earlier I was asking about how to remove the extruder from my R1+model, can't see the "obvious" anywhere. Mike's video obscured the key shot wtih a forearm block of where the screw supposedly is.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:16 PM - NFOsec: :)
Sep 3, 2015 6:16 PM - NFOsec: donhuevo threw some eggs at me, but no dice.
Sep 3, 2015 6:16 PM - NFOsec: much different design than my Micron3DP, but I'm sure it is in there somewhere.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:26 PM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Sep 3, 2015 6:32 PM - donhuevo: sorry... had to go dark for a bit. screw sets?
Sep 3, 2015 6:34 PM - donhuevo: not sure how I feel about your color choices jb but ok... are the tops going to hold their positions? are the hot ends being held snug?
Sep 3, 2015 6:34 PM - jbigler1986: The blue one is a little loose. Red one is good. Thats the one i scaled a little
Sep 3, 2015 6:35 PM - jbigler1986: I will just add teflon tape for now
Sep 3, 2015 6:35 PM - donhuevo: enough room for both heatsink fans?
Sep 3, 2015 6:35 PM - jbigler1986: No zip ties so i cant finish it tonight
Sep 3, 2015 6:36 PM - jbigler1986: Let me check. Only added one so far

Sep 3, 2015 6:42 PM - jbigler1986: The have to be hosted somewhere
Sep 3, 2015 6:42 PM - NFOsec: blah nevermind. duh.
    Sep 3, 2015 6:42 PM - jbigler1986: They*
Sep 3, 2015 6:42 PM - NFOsec: yeah, didn't think about checking properties.
Sep 3, 2015 6:43 PM - jbigler1986: Damnit. Im to lazy right now to go get zip ties
Sep 3, 2015 6:43 PM - Mike Glass: damn you JB
    Sep 3, 2015 6:43 PM - donhuevo: damnit
    Sep 3, 2015 6:43 PM - Mike Glass: shit I didnt add a endstop to mine yet..oops
Sep 3, 2015 6:44 PM - jbigler1986: Someone drone drop me some zipties
Sep 3, 2015 6:44 PM - Mike Glass: I cant believe you dont have any
Sep 3, 2015 6:45 PM - Mike Glass: or they being held hostaage
Sep 3, 2015 6:45 PM - NFOsec: perhaps you could get creative and print a ziptie?
Sep 3, 2015 6:46 PM - Mike Glass: no velcro ties?
Sep 3, 2015 6:49 PM - Mike Glass: I guess I should take this robbie part off my bed thats been there all week..lol
    Sep 3, 2015 6:51 PM - jbigler1986: Held hostage
Sep 3, 2015 6:52 PM - jbigler1986: I know i did have some. Oh well. Store tomorrow i guess. Need to get some dial calipers anyways
Sep 3, 2015 6:53 PM - jbigler1986: I need them for the x belt. Cant print without them
Sep 3, 2015 6:53 PM - donhuevo: hot glue gun
Sep 3, 2015 6:53 PM - Mike Glass: your gonna make us wait, FCOL
    Sep 3, 2015 6:56 PM - jbigler1986: No. Going to gets
    Sep 3, 2015 6:56 PM - jbigler1986: Some
    Sep 3, 2015 6:57 PM - Mike Glass: yay
Sep 3, 2015 6:58 PM - Mike Glass: even cat five wire you could make a tie out of if you had too.
Sep 3, 2015 7:09 PM - Mike Glass: I need the top part to hold the extruder in, I cant find it
Sep 3, 2015 7:10 PM - donhuevo: or print your own zip tie with the hot glue gun
    Sep 3, 2015 7:11 PM - donhuevo: should be in here... http://oddhobs.com/jb
Sep 3, 2015 7:13 PM - Mike Glass: doh, I had the file, didnt know what it was called.
Sep 3, 2015 7:14 PM - Mike Glass: looks like the nozzle sits down exactly 20 mm for the carriage
    Sep 3, 2015 7:15 PM - donhuevo: que?
Sep 3, 2015 7:17 PM - Mike Glass: trying to envsion the best way for part cooling
    Sep 3, 2015 7:17 PM - donhuevo: ah
Sep 3, 2015 7:18 PM - NFOsec: liquid nitrogen or a blast chiller. :) well, I've about given up for the night, can't get this thing unclogged or unassembled, will tackle another year.

    Sep 3, 2015 7:44 PM - NFOsec: [IMG]
Sep 3, 2015 7:45 PM - NFOsec: That is the configuration as is when received. Precisely WHERE would there be screws to remove the extruder?

    Sep 3, 2015 7:46 PM - NFOsec: opposite side.
Sep 3, 2015 8:00 PM - jbigler1986: i need to make a new spacer for this 6mm shaft. theis one is not straight. hmm
    Sep 3, 2015 8:03 PM - jbigler1986: any ideas?
    Sep 3, 2015 8:03 PM - Bill Monroe: punt

Sep 3, 2015 8:04 PM - jbigler1986: will probably just have to buy another geared stepper
Sep 3, 2015 8:04 PM - Bill Monroe: or, you could do that
    Sep 3, 2015 8:10 PM - jbigler1986: http://www.amazon.com/6mmx8mm-Stain...d=1441336427&sr=8-1&keywords=6mm+8mm+coupling
    Sep 3, 2015 8:10 PM - jbigler1986: hmmmmm
    Sep 3, 2015 8:11 PM - jbigler1986: nvm
Sep 3, 2015 8:11 PM - Bill Monroe: dont do it
    Sep 3, 2015 8:13 PM - jbigler1986: need a spacer like this [IMG]
    Sep 3, 2015 8:14 PM - NFOsec: What about going to: http://www.mcmaster.com/#spacers/=ysagme
    Sep 3, 2015 8:15 PM - jbigler1986: i am impatient
Sep 3, 2015 8:16 PM - NFOsec: they are fast.
Sep 3, 2015 8:16 PM - NFOsec: otherwise you'll have to go CNC and mill your own? :)
    Sep 3, 2015 8:16 PM - NFOsec: I thought I was impatient until I realized I may have gotten a lemon today.
Sep 3, 2015 8:17 PM - NFOsec: I think by nature we're all impatient. creative minds don't have the time.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:21 PM - Bill Monroe: <-- infinite patience
Sep 3, 2015 8:27 PM - NFOsec: probably more than me, I'm bald now trying to figure out why I'm missing screws and can't remove the extruder on this new machine. It smells like a lemon right now.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:42 PM - Blake Benefield: gotten a lemon what?
    Sep 3, 2015 8:42 PM - Blake Benefield: robo?
    Sep 3, 2015 8:45 PM - NFOsec: Yeah, got the Robo R1 +plus today.
Sep 3, 2015 8:45 PM - NFOsec: I've been doing 3dprinting for a few years with a customized set up using my ZenbotCNC machine and a micron 3DP all metal extruder.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:45 PM - Blake Benefield: what's it doing?
Sep 3, 2015 8:46 PM - Blake Benefield: I had some broken clips I had to print for mine when it came in, but other than that it was fine.
Sep 3, 2015 8:46 PM - NFOsec: 5 minutes in after set up, start running, nothing extrudes... turns out it's "clogged" to some degree, but I can't remove the extruder.
    Sep 3, 2015 8:46 PM - Blake Benefield: got a bad z end stop I think
Sep 3, 2015 8:46 PM - NFOsec: missing 2 screws for the table (end screws but I put ones I had).
Sep 3, 2015 8:47 PM - Blake Benefield: you contact robo?
Sep 3, 2015 8:47 PM - NFOsec: all the other folks talk about is removing 2 screws (see my picture above) I have none, but extruder/hot-end will not budge.
Sep 3, 2015 8:47 PM - NFOsec: yeah, they gave me the traditional "how to unclog" routine, but went by the assumption the extruder could be removed and turned upside down while heating (but can't remove).
Sep 3, 2015 8:47 PM - NFOsec: this peeves me.
Sep 3, 2015 8:48 PM - NFOsec: I literally think I would have to take apart the entire assembly off the rails and strip it down.
Sep 3, 2015 8:48 PM - NFOsec: at risk of ruining calibration, etc. I hate doing that.
Sep 3, 2015 8:48 PM - NFOsec: ANDshouldn't for something that just came today.
Sep 3, 2015 8:52 PM - Blake Benefield: take the fan off
Sep 3, 2015 8:56 PM - Blake Benefield: in the first picture there is a fan centered on the carriage between the rails. Remove the fan and see if those screws aren't going to the hot end and holding it into place. On my hictop the assembly is pretty much held together with long screws that secure the fan in place, go through the heatbreak, and then into the extruder
Sep 3, 2015 8:57 PM - NFOsec: mm... that would be an interesting thing to look at, I'll check that.
Sep 3, 2015 8:57 PM - NFOsec: all the other videos, documents, etc. show the screws ABOVE the fan, but mine is empty.
Sep 3, 2015 8:58 PM - NFOsec: I kind of figured this to be the new R1 +plus version so I have nothing to go bye.

Sep 3, 2015 9:02 PM - Blake Benefield: no couplers on the screws?
    Sep 3, 2015 9:06 PM - NFOsec: nope.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:14 PM - Blake Benefield:
Sep 3, 2015 9:14 PM - Blake Benefield: see if that helps
Sep 3, 2015 9:20 PM - NFOsec: well, after fan comes off the heat sink wiggles a little, but it looks like I have to take off the top feeder section to get this out, I'll look at the vid. thanks.
Sep 3, 2015 9:30 PM - NFOsec: well, got it out.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:30 PM - NFOsec: what a pain.
Sep 3, 2015 9:31 PM - NFOsec: thanks for the info.
Sep 3, 2015 9:49 PM - NFOsec: now that I underswtand the construction of this, piece of cake.
    Sep 3, 2015 9:49 PM - NFOsec: wish there were diagrams. :)
    Sep 3, 2015 9:50 PM - bamhm182: what's up, guys?
Sep 3, 2015 9:52 PM - Mike Glass: hey nfo
    Sep 3, 2015 9:52 PM - Mike Glass: bam
Sep 3, 2015 9:53 PM - Mike Glass: nfo you got a new one it has the new quick release we havent seen yet
    Sep 3, 2015 9:53 PM - bamhm182: Hey, MG
Sep 3, 2015 9:54 PM - Mike Glass: basically just unloosen the two screws from underneath then you pull that tab then the extruder comes out.
Sep 3, 2015 9:54 PM - Blake Benefield: Yeah. Cant really look at mine and tell. Mine is the 2 screws lol
Sep 3, 2015 9:54 PM - Mike Glass: you dont have the new mount on yours blake
Sep 3, 2015 9:54 PM - Mike Glass: remember the piece that I cnc'd that is the same part
    Sep 3, 2015 9:55 PM - bamhm182: Okay, I see how that workd
    Sep 3, 2015 9:55 PM - bamhm182: *works
Sep 3, 2015 9:55 PM - bamhm182: that's pretty awesome. I always hated how the screws dug into the hotend
    Sep 3, 2015 9:55 PM - Mike Glass: [IMG]
Sep 3, 2015 9:56 PM - bamhm182: Like MG said, there are two vertical bolts that hold the top of the carriage on. When you take those out, you can pull the top half off and then release the hotend
Sep 3, 2015 9:56 PM - bamhm182: You make that on your CNC, MG?
    Sep 3, 2015 9:56 PM - Mike Glass: yup
    Sep 3, 2015 9:56 PM - bamhm182: Nice
    Sep 3, 2015 9:56 PM - bamhm182: I won't be getting a CNC any time soon. :(
Sep 3, 2015 9:57 PM - bamhm182: Between talks of maybe moving me and having to make a surprise payment of $3000 for student loans, it's not a good idea at the moment
Sep 3, 2015 9:58 PM - Mike Glass: ugg, that blows
Sep 3, 2015 9:59 PM - Mike Glass: Im churning out piece left and right on the cnc, got 8 more signs to do, just takes forever to paint them.
Sep 3, 2015 10:00 PM - Mike Glass: Blake what are you still doing up?
Sep 3, 2015 10:08 PM - Mike Glass: ok well im off to bed. night
Sep 3, 2015 10:12 PM - Blake Benefield: Was cleaning up a bit. Going ti bed now
    Sep 3, 2015 10:19 PM - bamhm182: Finally "finished" my cable management
Sep 3, 2015 10:20 PM - bamhm182: I think there's still room for improvement, but it looks alright for now
Sep 3, 2015 10:20 PM - NFOsec: lol. always room for improvement. time to go wireless.
    Sep 3, 2015 10:23 PM - bamhm182: [IMG]
    Sep 3, 2015 10:23 PM - bamhm182: Thoughts?
    Sep 3, 2015 10:25 PM - bamhm182: Shoot, I just realized I don't have a parts fan wired up...
Sep 3, 2015 10:38 PM - bamhm182: Alright, now I've got leads for two parts fans wired up
Sep 4, 2015 3:27 AM - Bill Monroe: good morning
    Sep 4, 2015 4:45 AM - jbigler1986: morning
Sep 4, 2015 4:47 AM - Bill Monroe: hey Justin
    Sep 4, 2015 4:48 AM - jbigler1986: thank god it's Friday
Sep 4, 2015 4:50 AM - Bill Monroe: yep.. company is closing at noon today
    Sep 4, 2015 4:50 AM - jbigler1986: I'm leaving early myself. Because I can
    Sep 4, 2015 4:50 AM - Bill Monroe: I'm leaving before I get there
    Sep 4, 2015 4:52 AM - Bill Monroe:
Sep 4, 2015 4:53 AM - jbigler1986: I have the dual almost completely installed. Just need to wire up the 2nd heatsink fan
Sep 4, 2015 4:58 AM - jbigler1986: and then find a solution to the spacer right now. Don't feel like spending $50 on another stepper right now
    Sep 4, 2015 5:00 AM - Bill Monroe: trippy
    Sep 4, 2015 5:02 AM - Bill Monroe: I need another Snapple™
    Sep 4, 2015 5:02 AM - jbigler1986: give me some idea
Sep 4, 2015 5:02 AM - JeffTheMess: good morning roboneers tgif
Sep 4, 2015 5:03 AM - bamhm182: So I take it your printer works, jb?
    Sep 4, 2015 5:03 AM - jbigler1986: it does
    Sep 4, 2015 5:04 AM - bamhm182: Morning, Jeff
Sep 4, 2015 5:04 AM - jbigler1986: one extruder anyways. the other one i need a spacer for the drive gear
    Sep 4, 2015 5:04 AM - bamhm182: and everyone else
    Sep 4, 2015 5:05 AM - bamhm182: Like a washer?
Sep 4, 2015 5:05 AM - jbigler1986: that would work. would need to add a bunch of them
    Sep 4, 2015 5:06 AM - Bill Monroe: mmmm 2.0 made cookies....
    Sep 4, 2015 5:06 AM - jbigler1986: needs to be 6mm ID and 8mm OD
Sep 4, 2015 5:06 AM - Bill Monroe: print one with the good side
Sep 4, 2015 5:06 AM - Bill Monroe: sheesh.. i have to think of everything...
Sep 4, 2015 5:07 AM - bamhm182: Overkill: Because science is about can, not should...
    Sep 4, 2015 5:07 AM - bamhm182: [IMG]
    Sep 4, 2015 5:07 AM - jbigler1986: i have a printed one now. it's messed up though
Sep 4, 2015 5:07 AM - jbigler1986: whip one up for me Bill
Sep 4, 2015 5:07 AM - Bill Monroe: bam is showing us his bottom

Sep 4, 2015 5:07 AM - JeffTheMess: that reminds me i need a fan for my ps
Sep 4, 2015 5:08 AM - jbigler1986: needs to have a slot for the set screw on the drive gear

Sep 4, 2015 5:08 AM - Bill Monroe: right now my Robo is printing robbie parts
Sep 4, 2015 5:08 AM - bamhm182: What do you guys think of the wiring picture I posted earlier?
Sep 4, 2015 5:08 AM - Bill Monroe: it gave me nightmares
    Sep 4, 2015 5:08 AM - bamhm182: Why?
Sep 4, 2015 5:09 AM - bamhm182: The board is a LOT more open than a stock Robo, which I like
Sep 4, 2015 5:09 AM - Bill Monroe: cant remember, whiped it from my memory as a defense mechanism
    Sep 4, 2015 5:09 AM - bamhm182: Hahaha
    Sep 4, 2015 5:09 AM - Bill Monroe: Rambo?
Sep 4, 2015 5:09 AM - JeffTheMess: http://www.instructables.com/id/Phone-webcam/ for those who want a camera for their printer

Sep 4, 2015 5:10 AM - bamhm182: I was using my phone as a camera for a day or two waaaay back when. Bought a GoPro and was using that for a while, not I'm using a $15 Havit camera
Sep 4, 2015 5:10 AM - jbigler1986: specs for it. I expect to have a perfect design within the next hour Bill
Sep 4, 2015 5:10 AM - JeffTheMess: and finally for those who want to make chocolate creations on their printer http://www.instructables.com/id/Cartridge-extruder/
Sep 4, 2015 5:11 AM - bamhm182: I saw those, jb, but because I'm impatient, I bought some geared steppers on Amazon instead
    Sep 4, 2015 5:11 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Sep 4, 2015 5:11 AM - jbigler1986: they are available on amazon bam. Was just posting the specs
    Sep 4, 2015 5:12 AM - JeffTheMess: and check your printer's overall heat http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-thermal-imaging-infrared-camera/
    Sep 4, 2015 5:13 AM - JeffTheMess: ok im done :)

Sep 4, 2015 5:19 AM - Bill Monroe: ya well, not really.. the phone was the FAA
Sep 4, 2015 5:20 AM - Bill Monroe: A plane crashed here yesterday, a plane I inspected a couple of years ago
    Sep 4, 2015 5:20 AM - JeffTheMess: oops
    Sep 4, 2015 5:21 AM - Bill Monroe: http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/2015/sep/03/plane-crash-/
Sep 4, 2015 5:22 AM - Bill Monroe: back then it had a forced landing right after takeoff.. landed without damage or injuries on a highway
Sep 4, 2015 5:22 AM - Bill Monroe: I found some shady workmanship.. wrote an SDR and did not return it to service
    Sep 4, 2015 5:23 AM - jbigler1986: think this would work? [IMG]
Sep 4, 2015 5:23 AM - Bill Monroe: the owner got some mechanic to tweak some stuff and release it..
Sep 4, 2015 5:23 AM - Bill Monroe: yesterday, it crashed for the same reason
Sep 4, 2015 5:23 AM - Bill Monroe: killed both occupants
Sep 4, 2015 5:24 AM - NFOsec: Chocolate creations? Looks like Hershey kisses is about all you can pump there. :)
Sep 4, 2015 5:24 AM - Bill Monroe: so now, the Feds want to chat
    Sep 4, 2015 5:24 AM - NFOsec: HAHA
Sep 4, 2015 5:25 AM - JeffTheMess: nice knowing ya Bill
    Sep 4, 2015 5:25 AM - Bill Monroe: heh.. naw, I'm good..
Sep 4, 2015 5:25 AM - NFOsec: Yikes, never good when they circle back on ya - but, if you did your due dilligence, I wouldn't even sweat.
    Sep 4, 2015 5:25 AM - NFOsec: @Bill cool.
Sep 4, 2015 5:26 AM - Bill Monroe: basically I said it wasnt safe to fly.. the same mechanic that did the shady work "fixed" it
    Sep 4, 2015 5:26 AM - NFOsec: Aha, a scrape goat.
Sep 4, 2015 5:26 AM - NFOsec: (yeah, pun intended)
    Sep 4, 2015 5:26 AM - Bill Monroe: it's not like that
Sep 4, 2015 5:26 AM - NFOsec: btw guys, thanks for the help last night.
Sep 4, 2015 5:27 AM - NFOsec: Well, the best part is if you have plausible deniability as to how the shady mechanic fixed it, you'll be fine.
Sep 4, 2015 5:27 AM - jbigler1986: Bill. Do you think that space would work?
Sep 4, 2015 5:27 AM - Bill Monroe: I have no idea Justin, dont know what your issue(s) is/are
    Sep 4, 2015 5:29 AM - jbigler1986: I have a 8mm bore drive gear and a 6mm shaft on the stepper
Sep 4, 2015 5:29 AM - Bill Monroe: basically, the incident that put the plane on the highway was caused when the engine-driven fuel pump quit, and the electric aux was already inop
    Sep 4, 2015 5:29 AM - jbigler1986: that's shitty
Sep 4, 2015 5:30 AM - Bill Monroe: ooooo. well, if you get the fit snug, it should be OK for while
Sep 4, 2015 5:31 AM - Bill Monroe: ya.. in that case the pilot was blamed since he flew it with an inop pump, with the owner sharing since it was documented as inop already
Sep 4, 2015 5:31 AM - Bill Monroe: when I checked it, the engine driven pump was fixed, but the didnt touch the aux pump
    Sep 4, 2015 5:31 AM - Bill Monroe: idiots
Sep 4, 2015 5:31 AM - jbigler1986: I feel like the spacer needs to take in effect for the flat on the shaft though
Sep 4, 2015 5:32 AM - Bill Monroe: then you wouldnt need a set screw
Sep 4, 2015 5:38 AM - jbigler1986: well when tightening the current one down it kind of got flat becuse of the flat on the shaft. hmmmm
Sep 4, 2015 5:40 AM - NFOsec: @Bill, all for the sake of convenience/inconvenience.. sheez.
Sep 4, 2015 5:42 AM - Bill Monroe: with those guys, it's all about money
Sep 4, 2015 5:43 AM - Bill Monroe: "it's broke? well ya got two, use the other one"
Sep 4, 2015 5:44 AM - Bill Monroe: shoulda heard them when I handed them the invoice for the inspection
Sep 4, 2015 6:09 AM - bamhm182: Gonna head to bed, I'll see y'all around. Good luck with the mess, Bill
Sep 4, 2015 6:10 AM - Bill Monroe: sleep tight
    Sep 4, 2015 6:22 AM - Mike Glass: Bill
    Sep 4, 2015 6:23 AM - Bill Monroe: Mike
Sep 4, 2015 6:24 AM - Mike Glass: I see you have some fun with the FAA
Sep 4, 2015 6:24 AM - Bill Monroe: heh ya... no biggie really..
Sep 4, 2015 6:25 AM - Bill Monroe: I'm kinda glad to get some face time with the NTSB. wished it wasnt under these circumstances
Sep 4, 2015 6:26 AM - JeffTheMess: didnt know this was a thing
Sep 4, 2015 6:26 AM - Bill Monroe: oh ya.. that'sbeen around for years
Sep 4, 2015 6:26 AM - Mike Glass: some companies use that for putting rims together
Sep 4, 2015 6:27 AM - Bill Monroe: friction-stir is used a lot in plastic fab
Sep 4, 2015 6:28 AM - Mike Glass: linear friction is cool also
    Sep 4, 2015 6:28 AM - NFOsec: talk about a "lathe".
Sep 4, 2015 6:28 AM - Bill Monroe: the parts are super-concentric too
    Sep 4, 2015 6:29 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah
Sep 4, 2015 6:29 AM - NFOsec: sorry, don't have the power requirements in this place. :)
    Sep 4, 2015 6:29 AM - Bill Monroe:
Sep 4, 2015 6:30 AM - Mike Glass: this is cool also
Sep 4, 2015 6:31 AM - NFOsec: goold old trusty Taulman bridge nylon doing its job today on the Roboni
Sep 4, 2015 6:31 AM - Mike Glass: NFO did you see my post last night on how to remove your hotend.
    Sep 4, 2015 6:31 AM - JeffTheMess:
Sep 4, 2015 6:32 AM - NFOsec: The drilling thing is definitely ingenuis. great way to do the job AND save material costs/no need to weld.
Sep 4, 2015 6:45 AM - NFOsec: Mike: Another victim suggested that I have the new mount and I would need to remove the fans and the two screws underneath to get to it. after doing that it was a cinch.
Sep 4, 2015 6:45 AM - NFOsec: been printing nonstop since.
Sep 4, 2015 6:45 AM - NFOsec: tested using taulman bridge nylon to make a whistle and phone case.
Sep 4, 2015 6:47 AM - NFOsec: however, your input was valuable. I'd give you a gold sticker, but I can't print gold right now. :)
Sep 4, 2015 6:48 AM - NFOsec: Jeff: I've seen the industrial version of that machine, 16-foot wide, 4 foot tall grinders.
Sep 4, 2015 6:50 AM - NFOsec: even How ITs' Made did an episode on it once.
Sep 4, 2015 6:51 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah i was strolling through youtube looking at these http://www.filastruder.com/products/filastruder-kit
Sep 4, 2015 7:04 AM - Mike Glass: yeah guess we never thought the R1Plus what actually shipped.
Sep 4, 2015 7:04 AM - NFOsec: Hard to say that printing glass is going to be the next "hot thing", but the article is interesting. Talk about "hot"

    Sep 4, 2015 7:22 AM - Bill Monroe: whatever
Sep 4, 2015 7:22 AM - jbigler1986: Sould I just add a 1mm wall on the inside of the spacer for the flat?
Sep 4, 2015 7:23 AM - jbigler1986: or not even worry about it
Sep 4, 2015 7:23 AM - Bill Monroe: i'd add whatever it takes to match the motor
    Sep 4, 2015 7:23 AM - jbigler1986: hmmm
    Sep 4, 2015 7:24 AM - jbigler1986: sounds like a fail coming. lol
Sep 4, 2015 7:24 AM - jbigler1986: the blueprint is hard to read
Sep 4, 2015 7:26 AM - NFOsec: Well, one could easily get the coordinates within a specific place in the stadium/target, set the drone to auto-home and then start it off with a return to home flight. .
Sep 4, 2015 7:26 AM - Bill Monroe: make a sample.. try it.. adjust as necessary... rinse... repeat
Sep 4, 2015 7:27 AM - Bill Monroe: or could keep them the fack way from people
Sep 4, 2015 7:39 AM - JeffTheMess: anybody knows a good place to find a design like this?
    Sep 4, 2015 8:16 AM - Mike Kelly: morning
    Sep 4, 2015 8:17 AM - JeffTheMess: morning Mike
Sep 4, 2015 8:20 AM - Mike Glass: you need this jeff

Sep 4, 2015 8:24 AM - Mike Glass: Mike, you ask my about the files for the Bosch on thingiverse, I thought I gave you the files?
Sep 4, 2015 8:24 AM - JeffTheMess: I can't look at that no more i may scrap all projects to work on that
Sep 4, 2015 8:24 AM - Mike Glass: so effen cool aint it
    Sep 4, 2015 8:25 AM - Mike Kelly: i did?

Sep 4, 2015 8:27 AM - Mike Glass: this what you posted on mine. Did you happen to design this in solidworks? I'd appreciate the source file if you have them but I can use the step just fine!
Sep 4, 2015 8:29 AM - Mike Glass: I didnt realize he had the step file..lol

    Sep 4, 2015 8:31 AM - Mike Kelly: derp
Sep 4, 2015 8:31 AM - Mike Glass: lol yes you did.
Sep 4, 2015 8:32 AM - Mike Glass: how do you edit the step files then, I think that was my issue
    Sep 4, 2015 8:32 AM - Mike Kelly: cut/extrude's mostly
Sep 4, 2015 8:33 AM - Mike Kelly: then the delete face tool is good for removing things like screw holes and fillets
Sep 4, 2015 8:35 AM - Mike Glass: oh gotacha, wish I knew that before..haha
Sep 4, 2015 8:38 AM - Blake Benefield: Mk. Shipp9ng hatch out. Should the stock box survive or do you want it packed first?
Sep 4, 2015 8:41 AM - Mike Kelly: i'd say the stock box should be fine but doesn't it have a hole in it?
    Sep 4, 2015 8:43 AM - jbigler1986: think this will do? [IMG]
    Sep 4, 2015 8:43 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Sep 4, 2015 8:45 AM - Mike Kelly: what am i looking at here
    Sep 4, 2015 8:46 AM - jbigler1986: spacer for my drive gear
    Sep 4, 2015 8:46 AM - jbigler1986: stepper shaft is 6mm and bore is 8mm
Sep 4, 2015 8:47 AM - jbigler1986: so the ID of this is 6mm and the OD is 8mm. the opening is for the set screw and the tab inside is for the flat on the shaft
Sep 4, 2015 8:47 AM - jbigler1986: unless you wanna whip me up something better
    Sep 4, 2015 8:48 AM - Mike Kelly: i see
Sep 4, 2015 8:48 AM - Mike Kelly: i could ship you some of the spacers i made for mine
Sep 4, 2015 8:49 AM - jbigler1986: that would be sweet. do you think this would work for now? i'm totally guessing on the length and the side the tab needs to be
Sep 4, 2015 8:49 AM - Mike Kelly: it might work, you should double check how deep the groove is
Sep 4, 2015 8:49 AM - Mike Kelly: also why just a tab and not a whole flat face
    Sep 4, 2015 8:49 AM - jbigler1986: idk
    Sep 4, 2015 8:50 AM - jbigler1986: bc i don't know what the hell i am doing
    Sep 4, 2015 8:50 AM - jbigler1986: let me get the blueprint
    Sep 4, 2015 8:51 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]

Sep 4, 2015 8:52 AM - jbigler1986: what do you mean by a whole flat face?
Sep 4, 2015 8:53 AM - Mike Glass: the flat part on the spindle?
Sep 4, 2015 8:53 AM - Mike Kelly: those are like the exact one i just sold michael
Sep 4, 2015 8:54 AM - Mike Kelly: appears to be 5mm from the flat to the outer face
Sep 4, 2015 8:57 AM - jbigler1986: hold on. let me get a better pic
    Sep 4, 2015 8:59 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
    Sep 4, 2015 8:59 AM - jbigler1986: the "tab" is 5mm long
Sep 4, 2015 9:01 AM - jbigler1986: however. going to have to make a slot/hole for the set screw on that
    Sep 4, 2015 9:01 AM - Mike Kelly: here's what i mean: [IMG]
    Sep 4, 2015 9:02 AM - jbigler1986: i like that way better
Sep 4, 2015 9:03 AM - jbigler1986: only issue is not sure of the exact location for the set screw
Sep 4, 2015 9:03 AM - Mike Kelly: what are you using for the hobbed gear
    Sep 4, 2015 9:05 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
    Sep 4, 2015 9:06 AM - jbigler1986: like an MK7
Sep 4, 2015 9:07 AM - Mike Kelly: probably an M3 set screw right?
    Sep 4, 2015 9:07 AM - jbigler1986: yeah

Sep 4, 2015 9:22 AM - donhuevo: haha... already am
Sep 4, 2015 9:22 AM - jbigler1986: new spacer for my drive gear
Sep 4, 2015 9:25 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah jb it's hard for slicers when the wall isn't an even multiple of the nozzle diameter
    Sep 4, 2015 9:26 AM - Mike Kelly: got a .25mm nozzle? or even a .5
    Sep 4, 2015 9:27 AM - jbigler1986: i have a .25 i think. I "had" a .25. Not sure if it's in the box of stuff or not
Sep 4, 2015 9:29 AM - Mike Kelly: that would help
    Sep 4, 2015 9:30 AM - jbigler1986: should i try to print it with .4
Sep 4, 2015 9:30 AM - Mike Kelly: you can but it might have a weak bond between walls
Sep 4, 2015 9:30 AM - jbigler1986: even with .25 nozzle it looks the same
    Sep 4, 2015 9:31 AM - donhuevo: .25 should give you 4 shells
    Sep 4, 2015 9:31 AM - Mike Kelly: really?
    Sep 4, 2015 9:31 AM - jbigler1986: yep
Sep 4, 2015 9:31 AM - donhuevo: you did it wrong
Sep 4, 2015 9:31 AM - jbigler1986: can you make the ID smaller to make the walls thicker then I can just file it
    Sep 4, 2015 9:34 AM - JeffTheMess:
Sep 4, 2015 9:34 AM - JeffTheMess: crawl away folks
Sep 4, 2015 9:34 AM - donhuevo: it could get a little weird and maybe need a skirt but try laying it down and slicing it
    Sep 4, 2015 9:35 AM - donhuevo: sorry, brim
    Sep 4, 2015 9:39 AM - Mike Glass: Huevo
Sep 4, 2015 9:43 AM - Mike Kelly: hmm i'm seeing the same thing JB
Sep 4, 2015 9:44 AM - jbigler1986: laying it down and slicing it looks like will work
Sep 4, 2015 9:44 AM - Mike Kelly: ok i figured it out
Sep 4, 2015 9:44 AM - Mike Kelly: is your extrusion width set to manual or automatic
    Sep 4, 2015 9:44 AM - jbigler1986: auto
Sep 4, 2015 9:44 AM - Mike Kelly: try set it to manual at .25
    Sep 4, 2015 9:44 AM - Mike Kelly: then do 100% infill
    Sep 4, 2015 9:44 AM - jbigler1986: no. manual
Sep 4, 2015 9:45 AM - jbigler1986: let me print it here with it laid down. see how it turns out
Sep 4, 2015 9:45 AM - Mike Kelly: ok then
Sep 4, 2015 9:45 AM - Mike Kelly: i got it to work on a .25 nozzle though
    Sep 4, 2015 9:46 AM - jbigler1986: ok. hopefully i still have the .25
Sep 4, 2015 9:46 AM - Mike Kelly: you could also try setting the extrusion width to .5 and hope it doesn't jam

    Sep 4, 2015 9:53 AM - Mike Kelly: yes i did

Sep 4, 2015 10:46 AM - NFOsec: but sometimes it doesn't hurt to have a few other options.
Sep 4, 2015 10:46 AM - Mike Kelly: i used MC for a while to get the "new user experience"
Sep 4, 2015 10:46 AM - Mike Kelly: i got so frustrated by it's lack of running autolevel each time and having to twist the rods and/or close and reopen MC
Sep 4, 2015 10:47 AM - NFOsec: yeah, that's like having to wait for the party to start -- what a delay.
Sep 4, 2015 10:47 AM - donhuevo: you turned into this... [IMG]
Sep 4, 2015 10:48 AM - NFOsec: I've been using Kisslicer for a few years with the CNC/3DP I put together, but Cura wouldn't work well with the drivers so I ended up going with Simplify3D then. worked well.
Sep 4, 2015 10:48 AM - NFOsec: Now now Marcia, eat a snickers...
    Sep 4, 2015 10:48 AM - NFOsec: <Marcia> WHY! </Marcia>

Sep 4, 2015 10:50 AM - donhuevo: I'm still waiting for Samuel L. Jackson to do a snakes on a plane version of the Snicker's commercial

    Sep 4, 2015 10:51 AM - NFOsec: lol.
Sep 4, 2015 10:51 AM - NFOsec: you know why they use beeps with "censored" words on TV adn Radio don't you?
    Sep 4, 2015 10:52 AM - NFOsec: it's an embedded hearing test.
    Sep 4, 2015 10:52 AM - donhuevo: maybe?
Sep 4, 2015 10:52 AM - Mike Kelly: whoa, NFO when did you get your printer?
Sep 4, 2015 10:53 AM - NFOsec: when you get to a show like Andrew Dice Clay, it's like sonar, constant beeps/pings/screeches between a few stuttered words on syndicate cable.
Sep 4, 2015 10:53 AM - Mike Kelly: you have the quick release on yours
Sep 4, 2015 10:53 AM - Mike Glass: yea mike its the R1plus
Sep 4, 2015 10:53 AM - Mike Kelly: they started shipping them?
Sep 4, 2015 10:53 AM - NFOsec: Mike: The Robo3D R1+plus was literally yesterday. My original ZenbotCNC router table was retrofitted with a Micron3DP all metal head.
Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - NFOsec: there is no "quick release" mike.
    Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Glass: umm
Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Kelly: yes there is
Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Glass: the metal tab that I showed you
Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Kelly: lemme find you some pictures
Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - NFOsec: but, if removing a fan and undoing 2 screws to remove the head from the alum plate is considered quick release, then yes.
    Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - NFOsec: yeah.
    Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Glass: haha
Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - NFOsec: I have that tab. very pretty, but no blue chrome you had. :)
Sep 4, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Kelly: you should only need to loosen one screw
Sep 4, 2015 10:55 AM - Mike Glass: quicker then unblolting 2 more 25mm screws
Sep 4, 2015 10:55 AM - donhuevo: getting ready to print these... [IMG]
Sep 4, 2015 10:55 AM - NFOsec: yeah, then swing it.
Sep 4, 2015 10:55 AM - Mike Kelly: and even then i just pull mine out
Sep 4, 2015 10:55 AM - Mike Kelly: nice don
    Sep 4, 2015 10:55 AM - donhuevo: we'll see...
    Sep 4, 2015 10:55 AM - Mike Kelly: [IMG]
    Sep 4, 2015 10:56 AM - Mike Kelly: [IMG]
Sep 4, 2015 10:56 AM - Mike Kelly: so you should only need to loosen the screw that's not covered by the fan

Sep 4, 2015 10:56 AM - Mike Kelly: the other one can stay tight
Sep 4, 2015 10:56 AM - NFOsec: so, the plot thickens.
Sep 4, 2015 10:56 AM - NFOsec: in order to get at the screw which allows you to get the plate to swing, you have to remove the angled fan.
Sep 4, 2015 10:56 AM - Mike Kelly: it's not the best possible solution, but it's much better than the old method which was a PITA
    Sep 4, 2015 10:57 AM - Mike Kelly: no you don't
Sep 4, 2015 10:57 AM - NFOsec: then maybe someone assembled the collar in reverse order for me.
Sep 4, 2015 10:57 AM - Mike Glass: yep very nice, I should mount mine see how it works.
    Sep 4, 2015 10:58 AM - Mike Kelly: [IMG] nope you're fine
Sep 4, 2015 10:58 AM - Mike Kelly: you don't need to touch the one under the fan
Sep 4, 2015 10:58 AM - NFOsec: to be honest, while I like it configured as is, I'd be darn tempted to see what i would need to do to move the Micron3DP extrudor to this. In over 1k prints I've never had a clog.
Sep 4, 2015 10:58 AM - Mike Glass: doesnt matter what side its on
Sep 4, 2015 10:58 AM - NFOsec: yeah, appears that way.
Sep 4, 2015 10:58 AM - Mike Glass: Did you season your nozzle?
Sep 4, 2015 10:59 AM - NFOsec: ok, I might clog it intentionally just to test the theory. lol
Sep 4, 2015 10:59 AM - Mike Kelly: i've been pretty happy with my R1 "plus"'s gregs wade extruder
Sep 4, 2015 11:00 AM - NFOsec: now, if you showed THAT picture yesterday I probably would have saved an hour. :)
Sep 4, 2015 11:00 AM - Mike Glass: btw if you print Justabs brand, it does not like lower then 230c
Sep 4, 2015 11:00 AM - JeffTheMess: really that high?
    Sep 4, 2015 11:00 AM - Mike Kelly: i didn't know you had an R1+ :)
Sep 4, 2015 11:01 AM - Mike Glass: abs jeff
Sep 4, 2015 11:01 AM - Mike Glass: the pla I print at 215 most of the time.
Sep 4, 2015 11:01 AM - Mike Kelly: i misread that as well
    Sep 4, 2015 11:01 AM - JeffTheMess: ahh
Sep 4, 2015 11:02 AM - NFOsec: lol. I've been using Taulmans and Hatchbox mostly.
Sep 4, 2015 11:02 AM - Mike Kelly: hatchbox is super
Sep 4, 2015 11:03 AM - Mike Glass: I take that back Justabs is complete crap 3rd failure with it
    Sep 4, 2015 11:03 AM - donhuevo: ouch
Sep 4, 2015 11:03 AM - jbigler1986: my robo at work doesn't have the quick release
    Sep 4, 2015 11:03 AM - Mike Kelly: it's a new feature of the R1+
Sep 4, 2015 11:03 AM - Mike Glass: its jamming in my heatbreak
Sep 4, 2015 11:04 AM - Mike Kelly: NFO does your printer have white LEDs?
Sep 4, 2015 11:04 AM - NFOsec: One thing I liked about the Micron3DP was I had easy heat option of 280-300degres for polycarbonates.
Sep 4, 2015 11:04 AM - NFOsec: yeah, the blinking and flashing and flashing and blinking and... <screen from Airplane 2>
    Sep 4, 2015 11:05 AM - jbigler1986: i print justpla at 176c
Sep 4, 2015 11:05 AM - NFOsec: thinking about retrofitting those with a little more fun light show.
    Sep 4, 2015 11:05 AM - jbigler1986: i'm crazy like that
Sep 4, 2015 11:05 AM - Mike Kelly: could you snap me some pictures of your plus?
Sep 4, 2015 11:05 AM - Mike Kelly: curious what all changed
Sep 4, 2015 11:05 AM - donhuevo: novice has that tutorial out there somewhere for the light show
    Sep 4, 2015 11:05 AM - NFOsec: Sure, gimme a sec.
Sep 4, 2015 11:06 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i want to add the RGB sequences
Sep 4, 2015 11:06 AM - Mike Glass: Do you think 1.94mm would jam in the hex?
Sep 4, 2015 11:06 AM - donhuevo: it wasn't cool when I did it but now that novice has it, all the other kids want it too
Sep 4, 2015 11:06 AM - Mike Kelly: absolutely mike
Sep 4, 2015 11:07 AM - Mike Kelly: the ID is only 1.8mm
Sep 4, 2015 11:07 AM - Mike Glass: well then... thats the issue
Sep 4, 2015 11:07 AM - Mike Kelly: lol don i wanted it when you did it as well
Sep 4, 2015 11:07 AM - Mike Kelly: but didn't have any at the time
Sep 4, 2015 11:07 AM - Mike Glass: thats the stuff I got for my new carriage
Sep 4, 2015 11:07 AM - Mike Glass: back to blue hatchbox
Sep 4, 2015 11:08 AM - donhuevo: I'm printing blue hatchbox right now
    Sep 4, 2015 11:08 AM - donhuevo: I'm a trendsetter
Sep 4, 2015 11:08 AM - Mike Kelly: yes you are
Sep 4, 2015 11:08 AM - Mike Glass: it the very first think i printed with, I love it
Sep 4, 2015 11:09 AM - Mike Kelly: NFO, can you get a picture like this as well: http://i.imgur.com/4DDweh3.jpg
    Sep 4, 2015 11:09 AM - jbigler1986: i read that as "transgender" at a quick glance
Sep 4, 2015 11:09 AM - Mike Glass: I ordered it with my robo, been using ever since.
Sep 4, 2015 11:09 AM - donhuevo: not gonna date you jb. don't even ask
    Sep 4, 2015 11:09 AM - jbigler1986: no thanks
Sep 4, 2015 11:10 AM - NFOsec: Mike, that one is the same.
Sep 4, 2015 11:11 AM - NFOsec: actually the rod goes up then the other is a threaded of course (you knew that).
Sep 4, 2015 11:12 AM - Mike Kelly: right, just curious if they included caps now
    Sep 4, 2015 11:13 AM - jbigler1986: i have caps on mine
    Sep 4, 2015 11:13 AM - Mike Kelly: stock?
Sep 4, 2015 11:14 AM - NFOsec: black caps inside the sleeve, yes.
Sep 4, 2015 11:14 AM - NFOsec: but, be an idiot like me and only leave one in and one out when putting the top on.. good grief.
Sep 4, 2015 11:14 AM - jbigler1986: my one at home came with caps. my one at work does not
    Sep 4, 2015 11:14 AM - Mike Kelly: :)

Sep 4, 2015 11:18 AM - NFOsec: both sides are blank except USB port and SD card near bottom. No suicide doors or anything.
    Sep 4, 2015 11:19 AM - Mike Kelly: right
Sep 4, 2015 11:21 AM - jbigler1986: anyone that gets the R1+ you are welcome. We put the pressure on them showing them what the integrated can do
Sep 4, 2015 11:22 AM - Mike Kelly: yup JB really harped on braydon to do it :)
Sep 4, 2015 11:23 AM - donhuevo: and again... it wasn't cool when I did it

Sep 4, 2015 11:34 AM - NFOsec: I wouldn't want to be IN that thing during descent.
Sep 4, 2015 11:35 AM - donhuevo: mg, it looks like robbie puked all over your bed
Sep 4, 2015 11:36 AM - Mike Kelly: he's using corpses of robbies past to print more robbies
    Sep 4, 2015 11:36 AM - Mike Glass: lol
Sep 4, 2015 11:37 AM - Mike Glass: don do you even have hairspray on your bed?

Sep 4, 2015 11:39 AM - Mike Kelly: i don't know how he has patience for that, i just keep adding more and more hairspray until it's white
Sep 4, 2015 11:40 AM - donhuevo: I've cut back on cleaning in between prints. I'll go maybe 10 or so just adding more hairspray before I scrub up
Sep 4, 2015 11:40 AM - donhuevo: but I still spray the paper towel and apply it that way
Sep 4, 2015 11:41 AM - Mike Glass: when its warm or cold?
Sep 4, 2015 11:42 AM - jbigler1986: my glass bed is dirt as hell
Sep 4, 2015 11:42 AM - NFOsec: Will probably have to invent a Razoomba, a razor blade robot that can scour the table.
Sep 4, 2015 11:42 AM - donhuevo: it goes on easier cold but it really doesn't matter
    Sep 4, 2015 11:42 AM - jbigler1986: glass cleaner cleans it perfectly
Sep 4, 2015 11:44 AM - donhuevo: i still like my laquer thinner
Sep 4, 2015 11:47 AM - NFOsec: yeah, you and your huffing problem.
Sep 4, 2015 11:48 AM - donhuevo: it goes great with coffee and M&M's
Sep 4, 2015 11:48 AM - jbigler1986: well have you seen his girlfriend? you has to have a cludy head all the time or he might vomit
    Sep 4, 2015 11:48 AM - jbigler1986: he has to have a cloudy*
    Sep 4, 2015 11:49 AM - donhuevo: ex girlfriend.
Sep 4, 2015 11:49 AM - donhuevo: although, I'm keeping the Hooter's shirt for sentimental reasons
    Sep 4, 2015 11:49 AM - Mike Kelly: it's his nighty
    Sep 4, 2015 11:50 AM - jbigler1986: lol

Sep 4, 2015 11:51 AM - donhuevo: I wonder if I can find that picture again...
Sep 4, 2015 11:52 AM - jbigler1986: just go take one now. we know she is still there
Sep 4, 2015 11:52 AM - donhuevo: using google images and searching fat stripper got some interesting results

Sep 4, 2015 11:55 AM - donhuevo: no, I can't remember what I searched to find that picture the first time
    Sep 4, 2015 11:55 AM - jbigler1986: he is at home anyways
    Sep 4, 2015 11:56 AM - jbigler1986: mildly nsfw: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/35/24/72/3524728b07b37a2cc7e51f9b25e46a2c.jpg

    Sep 4, 2015 11:56 AM - donhuevo: yep!
    Sep 4, 2015 11:57 AM - jbigler1986: i forgot how gross that is
Sep 4, 2015 11:57 AM - donhuevo: in my travels though... best halloween costume ever: [IMG]
    Sep 4, 2015 11:57 AM - NFOsec: OMG.
Sep 4, 2015 11:57 AM - donhuevo: ok mike... start deleting...
Sep 4, 2015 11:58 AM - donhuevo: and I can't believe you wanted her phone number jb
Sep 4, 2015 11:59 AM - jbigler1986: i wanted to ask her where she got her shoes
Sep 4, 2015 11:59 AM - NFOsec: mmm... well, I did my first and last MatterControl print -- probably should have ressorted to Simplify3D. I think this needs to be redone, top end had 3 "spots" that could be sanded down but...
    Sep 4, 2015 12:01 PM - NFOsec: [IMG]
Sep 4, 2015 12:01 PM - NFOsec: Slice of pumpkin anyone?
    Sep 4, 2015 12:01 PM - NFOsec: [IMG]
Sep 4, 2015 12:01 PM - donhuevo: thought it was canteloupe
Sep 4, 2015 12:01 PM - NFOsec: I'm thinking, too hot, too fast.
Sep 4, 2015 12:02 PM - Mike Glass: is that a robbie part?
Sep 4, 2015 12:02 PM - NFOsec: yeah, good deal.
    Sep 4, 2015 12:02 PM - NFOsec: it was.
Sep 4, 2015 12:02 PM - NFOsec: my quality standards don't think it measures up.
Sep 4, 2015 12:02 PM - Mike Glass: man how did you get the small ones
Sep 4, 2015 12:03 PM - donhuevo: an empathetic she said that
Sep 4, 2015 12:03 PM - NFOsec: well, the Robo3D r1 +plus only is capable of small things due to the new quick release (1 screw) thingy. Remember, if you get screwed once, it's usually enough.
    Sep 4, 2015 12:03 PM - NFOsec: LOL.
    Sep 4, 2015 12:03 PM - jbigler1986: only capable of small things?
    Sep 4, 2015 12:03 PM - NFOsec: it's about a 3x4x2.
Sep 4, 2015 12:04 PM - NFOsec: it was a bad joke jbigler.
Sep 4, 2015 12:04 PM - jbigler1986: all the other parts people have been getting were huge
    Sep 4, 2015 12:04 PM - jbigler1986: where did you get the R1+ from
Sep 4, 2015 12:05 PM - NFOsec: Maybe I should start printing using Ninjaflex some complimentary tools to handle the issue donhuevos talked of.
Sep 4, 2015 12:05 PM - donhuevo: when god was handing out parts, NFO got in the wrong line
    Sep 4, 2015 12:05 PM - NFOsec: Robo3D
Sep 4, 2015 12:05 PM - NFOsec: Well, even so, I'm not sure if that is quality enough.
Sep 4, 2015 12:05 PM - NFOsec: take a risk and send to Henry?
Sep 4, 2015 12:06 PM - jbigler1986: that part looks pretty good to me
    Sep 4, 2015 12:06 PM - donhuevo: I don't see anything wrong with it
Sep 4, 2015 12:06 PM - NFOsec: people are going to say: "Oh, look, a 6 foot Robbie -- wait, why is his right gluticus maximus shiney and burned?"
Sep 4, 2015 12:06 PM - NFOsec: yeah, that goes to bias, we're all Robos.
Sep 4, 2015 12:06 PM - donhuevo: gluticus: next screen name
    Sep 4, 2015 12:07 PM - NFOsec: gluticushuevocusmaximus
    Sep 4, 2015 12:07 PM - Bill Monroe:
Sep 4, 2015 12:07 PM - NFOsec: now THAT would be a good scientific name if any.
Sep 4, 2015 12:07 PM - NFOsec: see, bill is going to shame me righ toff.
    Sep 4, 2015 12:07 PM - Bill Monroe: it's a curse
    Sep 4, 2015 12:07 PM - jbigler1986: well Bill's robo isn't stock
Sep 4, 2015 12:08 PM - Bill Monroe: your part looks fine
Sep 4, 2015 12:08 PM - NFOsec: yeah, for now.
    Sep 4, 2015 12:08 PM - Bill Monroe: it's IN stock :)
Sep 4, 2015 12:08 PM - Bill Monroe: it's only got three mods
Sep 4, 2015 12:08 PM - NFOsec: but, I still think I should watch the speed.. I think this is an armpit.
Sep 4, 2015 12:08 PM - jbigler1986: i bet your part looks better than Makernot parts
    Sep 4, 2015 12:08 PM - NFOsec: actually, it's RA18.
    Sep 4, 2015 12:08 PM - NFOsec: right-ass part #18.
Sep 4, 2015 12:08 PM - NFOsec: or right arm?
Sep 4, 2015 12:09 PM - donhuevo: if it's an armpit, zero your retraction so it's got lots of strings on it
Sep 4, 2015 12:09 PM - Mike Glass: ok how does this camp work on this mount don?
    Sep 4, 2015 12:09 PM - donhuevo: camp?
    Sep 4, 2015 12:09 PM - donhuevo: mount?
    Sep 4, 2015 12:09 PM - donhuevo: don?
    Sep 4, 2015 12:10 PM - Mike Glass: carriage v6 mount
Sep 4, 2015 12:10 PM - NFOsec: bill: what filament are you using there? brand-wise?
    Sep 4, 2015 12:10 PM - NFOsec: temp/speed?
Sep 4, 2015 12:10 PM - Bill Monroe: the yellow is Hatchbox.. the only PLA one should use
    Sep 4, 2015 12:10 PM - Bill Monroe: 200/50
