Sep 9, 2015 10:03 AM - bamhm182: Not to say they're bad by any means, but I don't plan on buying an iPhone ever, and I don't see myself buying another Mac
Sep 9, 2015 10:03 AM - Mike Kelly: eh to each their own
Sep 9, 2015 10:03 AM - Mike Kelly: i love my apple products, they're super
Sep 9, 2015 10:03 AM - bamhm182: Additionally, I notice a pretty good battery drop off on my Macbook with every upgrade
Sep 9, 2015 10:03 AM - bamhm182: Especially that one that added the sidebar with twitter and facebook and all that
Sep 9, 2015 10:03 AM - donhuevo: I have an iphone and love it but would never drive a mac
Sep 9, 2015 10:04 AM - Mike Kelly: i'm hoping that they come out with a new apple tv that's been rumored
Sep 9, 2015 10:04 AM - Bill Monroe: ya bam, turns out it was ABS. I didnt look that close to the label.
Sep 9, 2015 10:04 AM - bamhm182: That would DESTROY my battery life in standby, might as well not even shut the lid
Sep 9, 2015 10:04 AM - Mike Kelly: i don't run on battery enough to notice
Sep 9, 2015 10:04 AM - bamhm182: Haha, so is it still shitty, or is it acceptable as ABS?
Sep 9, 2015 10:05 AM - bamhm182: I mean, don't get me wrong, Apple is great for what they are, which is shiny
Sep 9, 2015 10:05 AM - Mike Kelly: so shiny
Sep 9, 2015 10:05 AM - Mike Kelly: it's not for everyone but i enjoy the ecosystem
Sep 9, 2015 10:05 AM - Mike Kelly: airplay and mirroring is really helpful
Sep 9, 2015 10:05 AM - bamhm182: If I'm looking for a slick computer and have no plans on upgrading it and money isn't a concern, by all means, I'll get a Mac
Sep 9, 2015 10:05 AM - Mike Kelly: and other stuff like find my friends, find my iphone, etc
Sep 9, 2015 10:06 AM - Mike Kelly: probably nothing you can't do on an andorid
Sep 9, 2015 10:06 AM - bamhm182: iPhones on the other hand. No, ain't gonna do it
Sep 9, 2015 10:06 AM - jbigler1986: do you still need a board for that thermocouple
Sep 9, 2015 10:06 AM - Mike Kelly: yes JB
    Sep 9, 2015 10:07 AM - jbigler1986: thought so
Sep 9, 2015 10:13 AM - jbigler1986: i need to get that IR sensor. I have to keep twisting the rods to get first level good
Sep 9, 2015 10:14 AM - bamhm182: Any of you guys try to download an ISO of Windows 7 from Microsoft?
Sep 9, 2015 10:14 AM - bamhm182: They have like EVERY language besides English
    Sep 9, 2015 10:14 AM - jbigler1986: why would you do such a thing
    Sep 9, 2015 10:14 AM - Mike Kelly: it's pretty sweet jb, not sure it's worth 40
    Sep 9, 2015 10:14 AM - bamhm182: I have a key, but my disc stopped working
Sep 9, 2015 10:14 AM - Bill Monroe: i dunno.. when I put it on my ABS machine I'll know more..
Sep 9, 2015 10:15 AM - jbigler1986: it's probably due to my switch location not getting triggered at the same time
Sep 9, 2015 10:15 AM - bamhm182: I decided to go with Arabic because I figured I could navigate it well enough to install English, but I forgot to account for everything being backwards. Looks so weird
    Sep 9, 2015 10:15 AM - jbigler1986: are you bored?
Sep 9, 2015 10:15 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah being so far from the sensing point means those sensors are unreliable
Sep 9, 2015 10:15 AM - Mike Kelly: just nothing can be done to fix that
    Sep 9, 2015 10:16 AM - bamhm182: How's your servo work, MK?
Sep 9, 2015 10:17 AM - jbigler1986: well only one gets triggered at a time. not both. i could adjust where the switches are but i'm to lazy
Sep 9, 2015 10:17 AM - Mike Kelly: it was good, just can be a bit finnicky
Sep 9, 2015 10:17 AM - Mike Kelly: plus i like new toys
Sep 9, 2015 10:17 AM - Mike Kelly: jb pretty much no matter what it'll trigger one
Sep 9, 2015 10:17 AM - Mike Kelly: maybe in the middle you could do both
Sep 9, 2015 10:17 AM - Mike Kelly: but it will always teeter
    Sep 9, 2015 10:17 AM - jbigler1986: dumb
Sep 9, 2015 10:18 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah but it was a cheap fix
Sep 9, 2015 10:18 AM - jbigler1986: i really don't mind twisting the rods as i know the first layer will be perfect
Sep 9, 2015 10:18 AM - jbigler1986: for now anyways. it will get old soon
Sep 9, 2015 10:19 AM - bamhm182: My first layer is always screwed up, but I just ignore it as it always works itself out in the second or third layer
Sep 9, 2015 10:19 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i still twist the rods on my r1.7
Sep 9, 2015 10:19 AM - donhuevo: I got my McMaster order yesterday so got the screws I needed to completely assemble the new carriage with the servo on it
Sep 9, 2015 10:20 AM - bamhm182: Tried doing something about it by twisting the rods today, but my drivers are up too high for me to be able to twist them while they're activated
    Sep 9, 2015 10:20 AM - Mike Kelly: lol
Sep 9, 2015 10:20 AM - Bigc: Any advice on how to press the linear bearings in to mikes x carriage
    Sep 9, 2015 10:20 AM - jbigler1986: c clamp
    Sep 9, 2015 10:21 AM - donhuevo: ^
Sep 9, 2015 10:21 AM - bamhm182: I just used some channel locks, but a c clamp would work better if you've got one
Sep 9, 2015 10:21 AM - donhuevo: I've pushed bearings with a drill press too
Sep 9, 2015 10:22 AM - bamhm182: Want to do school work, but the school's website is undergoing maintenance... Ugh...
Sep 9, 2015 10:22 AM - Mike Kelly: i pretty much always use my bench vise
Sep 9, 2015 10:22 AM - bamhm182: A bench vise is somewhere on the list of tools I want but don't have
    Sep 9, 2015 10:23 AM - jbigler1986: they aren't very expensive
    Sep 9, 2015 10:23 AM - bamhm182: Yeah, I know
Sep 9, 2015 10:23 AM - jbigler1986: i need to mount one to my table
Sep 9, 2015 10:23 AM - donhuevo: they may very well be on the dollar menu at Harbor Freight
    Sep 9, 2015 10:23 AM - bamhm182: Neither are C-clamps, but I don't have any of those either, haha
Sep 9, 2015 10:23 AM - Bigc: So how would I take them out if 1 was defective or I screwed it up in this case
    Sep 9, 2015 10:24 AM - Mike Kelly: a bolt
    Sep 9, 2015 10:24 AM - jbigler1986: ^
    Sep 9, 2015 10:24 AM - donhuevo: I press again with a 3/8 socket
Sep 9, 2015 10:24 AM - jbigler1986: are you at home today don
Sep 9, 2015 10:24 AM - donhuevo: at the office
    Sep 9, 2015 10:24 AM - donhuevo: but it's hump day already
Sep 9, 2015 10:25 AM - bamhm182: We're doing this project right now where we have to come up with uses for common house hold items. Someone in my group chose bread clips, so that's what we're doing. I throw away my bread clips in favor of just twisting the bags shut. Need this print to finish up so I can print a bread clip to take pictures of in various use cases
Sep 9, 2015 10:26 AM - bamhm182: Hey Mike, guess what day it is
    Sep 9, 2015 10:26 AM - donhuevo: LOL
    Sep 9, 2015 10:26 AM - bamhm182: It's your birthday! Happy birthday, Mike!
    Sep 9, 2015 10:27 AM - Mike Kelly: haha
Sep 9, 2015 10:27 AM - donhuevo: you know those rings that come off milk jug lids?
    Sep 9, 2015 10:27 AM - bamhm182: Yeah
    Sep 9, 2015 10:27 AM - donhuevo: milkcaprings.com
Sep 9, 2015 10:27 AM - jbigler1986: get this for your wife MK
Sep 9, 2015 10:27 AM - donhuevo: gave myself a similar assignment when I was learning html
Sep 9, 2015 10:28 AM - bamhm182: "It was a milk-cap ring that led prehistoric man to invent the wheel."
    Sep 9, 2015 10:28 AM - bamhm182: Perfect
Sep 9, 2015 10:37 AM - Mike Glass: what is this, edit is back woohoo
    Sep 9, 2015 10:38 AM - jbigler1986: MK is ordering that now
Sep 9, 2015 10:41 AM - Mike Glass: That is so cool don, im gonna print some now.
Sep 9, 2015 10:43 AM - Mike Kelly: print what now
Sep 9, 2015 10:43 AM - Mike Glass: milk cap rings
    Sep 9, 2015 10:48 AM - bamhm182: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17038
Sep 9, 2015 10:50 AM - Mike Kelly: oral groove
Sep 9, 2015 10:50 AM - donhuevo: printing milk cap rings. never thought of that
Sep 9, 2015 10:51 AM - bamhm182: It's literally a gold mine once people find out you can print them
    Sep 9, 2015 10:52 AM - daniel871: ?
    Sep 9, 2015 10:53 AM - bamhm182: Step 1. Print milk cap rings
    Sep 9, 2015 10:53 AM - bamhm182: Step 2. ???
    Sep 9, 2015 10:53 AM - daniel871: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:231094
    Sep 9, 2015 10:53 AM - bamhm182: Step 3. Profit
Sep 9, 2015 10:53 AM - daniel871: The thing I was looking at were bread clips.
Sep 9, 2015 10:54 AM - daniel871: Where did the milk cap ring bit come from?
Sep 9, 2015 10:54 AM - NFOsec: now that is something I'd print.
Sep 9, 2015 10:54 AM - bamhm182: Yeah, but then I decided to jump on the milk ring bandwagon.

Sep 9, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Glass: I use those for marking wiring in my electrical boxes.
Sep 9, 2015 10:55 AM - donhuevo: the milk cap rings was a similar thought experiment to bread ties
Sep 9, 2015 10:56 AM - NFOsec: bam: are you delusional or was there a reference link to "milk cap rings"?
    Sep 9, 2015 10:56 AM - NFOsec: :)
    Sep 9, 2015 10:56 AM - donhuevo: http://milkcaprings.com/index.html
    Sep 9, 2015 10:57 AM - NFOsec: Good Grief!
Sep 9, 2015 10:57 AM - NFOsec: might as well print the whole cap with the breakaway milk cap ring, a two-color process perhaps?
    Sep 9, 2015 10:58 AM - daniel871: I'd rather have this. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:957211
    Sep 9, 2015 10:58 AM - Mike Kelly: neat
Sep 9, 2015 11:00 AM - bamhm182: I'm also probably delusional at this point. Been up for longer than I would like because I screwed up and slept in way too late yesterday and am trying to wake up "early" tomorrow
Sep 9, 2015 11:01 AM - bamhm182: Oh man, that candy plinko is awesome
Sep 9, 2015 11:01 AM - daniel871: Also I want to print one of these and see if it works. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:909985
Sep 9, 2015 11:02 AM - NFOsec: Daniel: I did a variation of that, it works. sort of like the acrobat trick to counter-balance.
Sep 9, 2015 11:03 AM - Mike Kelly: huh thingiverse adding a page to tell people what to CAD in, maybe now those questions will be less common
    Sep 9, 2015 11:04 AM - daniel871: What page is that, MK?
    Sep 9, 2015 11:04 AM - bamhm182: What's CAD and how do I do it?
    Sep 9, 2015 11:04 AM - bamhm182: It's linked on the front page
    Sep 9, 2015 11:05 AM - bamhm182: http://www.thingiverse.com/jumpstar...e&utm_medium=spotlight&utm_campaign=jumpstart
Sep 9, 2015 11:05 AM - Mike Kelly: jumpstart, yeah
Sep 9, 2015 11:06 AM - Bigc: Well time to order some more Bearings i managed to destroy two more
Sep 9, 2015 11:06 AM - bamhm182: Hooray! How are you destroying them?
Sep 9, 2015 11:07 AM - daniel871: Probably be cheaper to buy a vise and mount it on a table before you try again.
Sep 9, 2015 11:07 AM - Mike Glass: 22 pistol does wonders to them bearings
Sep 9, 2015 11:07 AM - Mike Kelly: how did you manage to destroy two bearings, that's impressive
Sep 9, 2015 11:07 AM - daniel871: Has anyone tried those IGUS versions of LM8UU bearings?
Sep 9, 2015 11:07 AM - Mike Glass: wooden vise works the best
Sep 9, 2015 11:08 AM - Mike Kelly: don bought some iirc
Sep 9, 2015 11:08 AM - Mike Glass: I have some coming some day.
Sep 9, 2015 11:09 AM - donhuevo: I'm getting closer to using the IGUS bearings
    Sep 9, 2015 11:10 AM - Bigc: Do y'all think this will work http://www.harborfreight.com/4-inch-jaw-capacity-drill-press-vise-30999.html
Sep 9, 2015 11:12 AM - Mike Kelly: 4" is kinda small, you'd need to measure to make sure a bearing + carriage would fit
    Sep 9, 2015 11:12 AM - Mike Kelly: it should though\
    Sep 9, 2015 11:13 AM - Mike Glass: negatory
Sep 9, 2015 11:13 AM - Mike Glass: Just bought one of those
Sep 9, 2015 11:14 AM - Mike Glass: its 4 1/2 so it may be enough, I can check tonight
    Sep 9, 2015 11:16 AM - donhuevo: just under 3 inches
    Sep 9, 2015 11:16 AM - donhuevo: 48mm carriage and 24mm bearing
Sep 9, 2015 11:17 AM - Mike Kelly: thanks don, math is hard
    Sep 9, 2015 11:17 AM - donhuevo: haha
Sep 9, 2015 11:20 AM - Mike Glass: do you know what carriage he is using MR?
    Sep 9, 2015 11:22 AM - Mike Kelly: he's using the mod carriage v2
Sep 9, 2015 11:22 AM - Mike Glass: the hinged one?
Sep 9, 2015 11:23 AM - Mike Kelly: right, dual hinges
Sep 9, 2015 11:23 AM - daniel871: The Humble Bundle site has a Neil Gaiman-centric book bundle for some of the more off the wall stuff he's done.
Sep 9, 2015 11:24 AM - Mike Glass: what no picture?
    Sep 9, 2015 11:24 AM - daniel871: https://www.humblebundle.com/books
Sep 9, 2015 11:25 AM - daniel871: "Feeders and Eaters" is one of the books, Don.
Sep 9, 2015 11:26 AM - donhuevo: I've learned my lesson. I'm done with hungry strippers
    Sep 9, 2015 11:26 AM - daniel871: Neil Gaiman isn't (see: Amanda Palmer)
    Sep 9, 2015 11:39 AM - Nickbrown17: hey guys, I have a noob question
    Sep 9, 2015 11:39 AM - Nickbrown17: anyone on?
Sep 9, 2015 11:39 AM - Mike Glass: I think Don pulled a Annie Wilkes on her.
Sep 9, 2015 11:39 AM - Mike Glass: yea nick
Sep 9, 2015 11:40 AM - Nickbrown17: is 1.75 ABS supposed to snap when you bend it? or bend?
Sep 9, 2015 11:40 AM - Mike Kelly: depends how new it is
Sep 9, 2015 11:40 AM - Mike Kelly: new it bends, old it snaps
Sep 9, 2015 11:40 AM - Mike Glass: well depends on how far you bend it
Sep 9, 2015 11:40 AM - Nickbrown17: it's a few weeks old, it's snapping now, and my prints are stopping after about 10min
    Sep 9, 2015 11:41 AM - Nickbrown17: I was wondering if it's the ABS I'm using or something else
Sep 9, 2015 11:41 AM - Mike Kelly: if you don't keep it in a dehydration bin then that's what happens
Sep 9, 2015 11:41 AM - Mike Kelly: even then, hydrogen embrittlement is a real thing
Sep 9, 2015 11:41 AM - Nickbrown17: is it still ok to use or would it cause issues?
Sep 9, 2015 11:42 AM - Mike Glass: does it pop and steam when it extrudes?
    Sep 9, 2015 11:42 AM - Nickbrown17: no
Sep 9, 2015 11:42 AM - Mike Glass: then probably not the filament
Sep 9, 2015 11:42 AM - Nickbrown17: but I think it's so rigid that the hobbled bolt digs a bit and then it fails
    Sep 9, 2015 11:42 AM - Mike Kelly: it's fine to use
Sep 9, 2015 11:43 AM - Mike Kelly: is the filament breaking off before the feed?
Sep 9, 2015 11:43 AM - Mike Glass: can you extrude the filament by pushing it with your hand easily?
Sep 9, 2015 11:43 AM - Nickbrown17: no, it stops extruding and then the printer continues in thin air
Sep 9, 2015 11:43 AM - Mike Kelly: does it grind down the filament
Sep 9, 2015 11:44 AM - Nickbrown17: I can push the filament through and I can manually extrude when I get it set up. It is grinding the filament
Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - Mike Glass: do you have fans on or off?
Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - Mike Kelly: what speeds and temps
Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - Mike Kelly: is your hobbed bolt clean
Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - Mike Kelly: try seasoning
Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - Nickbrown17: I have the screws with the springs for the extruder almost all the way out, but it seems like they're still pushing it too hard. The only fan I have on it is the heatsink fan
Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - Mike Kelly: buy cleaning nylon
    Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - Nickbrown17: it's running through an oiler
Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - Mike Kelly: my usual suggestions
    Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - daniel871: Oil + ABS = no benefit, IIRC.
Sep 9, 2015 11:45 AM - Nickbrown17: I've got cleaning filament, I'll run some through and try again
Sep 9, 2015 11:46 AM - Mike Kelly: too loose on the hobb won't help
Sep 9, 2015 11:46 AM - Mike Kelly: daniel it does, just less necessary
Sep 9, 2015 11:46 AM - Mike Kelly: could be crappy filament, what brand
Sep 9, 2015 11:46 AM - Mike Glass: you need it tighter on the hob.
    Sep 9, 2015 11:47 AM - Nickbrown17: 230 for ABS with E3D V6, 100% speed from stock s3d. Filament is Hatchbox
Sep 9, 2015 11:47 AM - Mike Kelly: hmm yeah probably not the filament then
Sep 9, 2015 11:47 AM - Mike Kelly: more likely it's a piece of dust or gunk in the nozzle
    Sep 9, 2015 11:47 AM - Mike Glass: nope.
Sep 9, 2015 11:47 AM - Mike Kelly: i'd invest in replacement nozzles if you print a lot of ABS
Sep 9, 2015 11:47 AM - Mike Kelly: stuff carbonizes crazy easy and will clog nozzles
Sep 9, 2015 11:47 AM - Mike Glass: take the oiler off and just season the nozzle.
Sep 9, 2015 11:47 AM - Mike Kelly: i use an "oiler" mostly just to remove dust
Sep 9, 2015 11:48 AM - Nickbrown17: I'll clean the hobbled bolt, run the cleaning filament through it and try again. The nozzle is new, only printed half of a 20mm cube
Sep 9, 2015 11:48 AM - Mike Glass: I run mine in a clean room so no need for it
Sep 9, 2015 11:51 AM - donhuevo: cleaning the hob's teeth after every filament meal?
Sep 9, 2015 11:54 AM - NFOsec: Perhaps the filament from the spool had too much tension and it pulled it back enough during a retraction that it couldn't feed forward again? I've had that happen once or twice.
Sep 9, 2015 12:13 PM - Mike Glass: what is the differnce between a DUE R3 and non DUE R3?
Sep 9, 2015 12:13 PM - donhuevo: the word 'non'. did I win?

    Sep 9, 2015 12:14 PM - Mike Glass: i dunno
    Sep 9, 2015 12:14 PM - donhuevo: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/ArduinoBoardDue
    Sep 9, 2015 12:16 PM - Mike Glass: thanks, now I know
    Sep 9, 2015 12:17 PM - donhuevo: I was just guessing
Sep 9, 2015 12:17 PM - Mike Glass: That you are still a turd. :)
    Sep 9, 2015 12:17 PM - donhuevo: that I am
Sep 9, 2015 12:23 PM - Mike Glass: haha that board and lcd I bought is half off now..
Sep 9, 2015 12:25 PM - bamhm182: You guys see the later development on my heating issue? Turns out the lcd will only heat it to 195/205, but S3D will heat it to 205/205 no problem
Sep 9, 2015 12:26 PM - bamhm182: Does the LCD have any say in how the board heats up?
    Sep 9, 2015 12:26 PM - Mike Glass: Reflash
    Sep 9, 2015 12:26 PM - donhuevo: LCD embrittlement
    Sep 9, 2015 12:27 PM - bamhm182: I flashed the firmware a few times last night
    Sep 9, 2015 12:27 PM - bamhm182: LCD embrittlement?
Sep 9, 2015 12:28 PM - donhuevo: just mk and his made-up words

Sep 9, 2015 12:29 PM - Mike Kelly: ok apparently hydrogen embrittlement is the wrong term for plastics embrittlement
Sep 9, 2015 12:29 PM - Mike Kelly: JB i keep my printers in a garage
Sep 9, 2015 12:29 PM - jbigler1986: no excuse MK. they have medical tents in deserts
Sep 9, 2015 12:30 PM - Mike Kelly: sawdust mang
    Sep 9, 2015 12:30 PM - jbigler1986: yeah sawdust is a bitch

Sep 9, 2015 12:30 PM - jbigler1986: used the router finally over the weekend and holy hell
Sep 9, 2015 12:30 PM - bamhm182: And them I dump all the dust into my printer
    Sep 9, 2015 12:30 PM - bamhm182: It's good for it, right?
    Sep 9, 2015 12:30 PM - Mike Kelly: haha
Sep 9, 2015 12:30 PM - bamhm182: It's like a vaccine. Going to be completely immune to dust one of these days
Sep 9, 2015 12:31 PM - Mike Kelly: hope you like sawdust!
    Sep 9, 2015 12:31 PM - jbigler1986: Narcos on Netflix. Watch it
    Sep 9, 2015 12:34 PM - jbigler1986: I didn't mean you had to right now
Sep 9, 2015 12:34 PM - Mike Kelly: sounds like what you meant
Sep 9, 2015 12:34 PM - jbigler1986: I started it on Monday morning and finished the whole season Monday night. I got hooked
    Sep 9, 2015 12:34 PM - Mike Kelly: haha
Sep 9, 2015 12:34 PM - Mike Kelly: so that's where you were all day
Sep 9, 2015 12:35 PM - Mike Glass: I cant watch that much porn in one day.
Sep 9, 2015 12:35 PM - bamhm182: You obviously aren't dual monitoring, or doing it correctly
Sep 9, 2015 12:36 PM - bamhm182: I can watch all the porn in the world with the help of the second 27" monitor I picked up
Sep 9, 2015 12:37 PM - donhuevo: given what 'all the porn in the world' encompasses... are you sure that's what you want to do?
Sep 9, 2015 12:39 PM - donhuevo: two girls and a cup comes to mind...
Sep 9, 2015 12:39 PM - Mike Kelly: if you want to be scarred for life, look up SWAP.avi
Sep 9, 2015 12:40 PM - donhuevo: and then plaster it all over a nice big 27" screen
Sep 9, 2015 12:40 PM - donhuevo: then go wash your eyes out
    Sep 9, 2015 12:41 PM - Mike Kelly: [IMG]
Sep 9, 2015 12:41 PM - Mike Kelly: yes my desk is a mess
    Sep 9, 2015 12:41 PM - Mike Glass: sweet
Sep 9, 2015 12:41 PM - bamhm182: No amount of soap can undo that
    Sep 9, 2015 12:42 PM - bamhm182: Fancy, MK
    Sep 9, 2015 12:42 PM - Mike Kelly: it's fun
Sep 9, 2015 12:43 PM - jbigler1986: oh god. two girls and one cup is the most disgusting thing ever
Sep 9, 2015 12:44 PM - Mike Kelly: thankfully that's something i managed to avoid
    Sep 9, 2015 12:44 PM - jbigler1986: keep it that way
Sep 9, 2015 12:45 PM - jbigler1986: to bad that didn't actually get you oil
Sep 9, 2015 12:46 PM - bamhm182: Not as bad as SWAP.avi from the description I just read on urban dictionary
Sep 9, 2015 12:48 PM - daniel871: Yeah, SWAP.AVI is basically the king of all shock videos.
Sep 9, 2015 12:48 PM - daniel871: Shame it faded into obscurity where you can't trick people into seeing it.
Sep 9, 2015 12:51 PM - daniel871: There is still supposedly a torrent for it out there somewhere, but I'll be damned if I download it.
    Sep 9, 2015 12:51 PM - jbigler1986: WTF is wrong with people
    Sep 9, 2015 12:51 PM - bamhm182: http://goo.gl/2SYY6R << Don't click that link
    Sep 9, 2015 12:52 PM - jbigler1986: you know don already did
Sep 9, 2015 12:52 PM - daniel871: There is the Something Awful article about it from back when they created it. http://www.somethingawful.com/horrors-of-porn/horrible-saga-swapavi/
    Sep 9, 2015 12:52 PM - Mike Kelly: uh
Sep 9, 2015 12:52 PM - Mike Kelly: bam are you sure you want to post that link, i don't want to click it to find out
Sep 9, 2015 12:52 PM - Mike Kelly: because if it is what i think it is i'd need to ban you
    Sep 9, 2015 12:53 PM - bamhm182: It's not, don't worry
Sep 9, 2015 12:53 PM - bamhm182: It links to Not a Virus, just wanted to see if anyone would actually click it
Sep 9, 2015 12:53 PM - daniel871: "I told you not to click that link, why did you click it?"
    Sep 9, 2015 12:53 PM - bamhm182: dan gets it
    Sep 9, 2015 12:53 PM - jbigler1986: that's the human nature
Sep 9, 2015 12:53 PM - daniel871: Seriously though, if you really want the details on SWAP.AVI that SomethingAwful link will give you everything short of the video itself.
Sep 9, 2015 12:54 PM - daniel871: There are screenshots after the warning page you click thru.
    Sep 9, 2015 12:54 PM - bamhm182: I'm good, haha
Sep 9, 2015 12:54 PM - Mike Kelly: it's even worse than you can imagine
    Sep 9, 2015 12:55 PM - bamhm182: And that's bad, because I'm imagining it's pretty terrible
    Sep 9, 2015 12:55 PM - Mike Kelly: yup
Sep 9, 2015 12:56 PM - daniel871: The backstory before the screenshots is pretty funny to read though.
Sep 9, 2015 12:57 PM - daniel871: Pretty much all of it was based on a Brazilian film company posting an ad saying "We'll make anything if you are willing to pay for it!" and some particularly nasty people on SomethingAwful thinking up some nasty stuff and pulling the money together to see if they'd go through with it.
Sep 9, 2015 12:57 PM - bamhm182: Backstory: Some hookers get paid a lot of money to poop inside each other
Sep 9, 2015 12:57 PM - Mike Kelly: not just poop either
Sep 9, 2015 12:57 PM - Mike Kelly: god why are we still discussing this
Sep 9, 2015 12:57 PM - Mike Kelly: NEW TOPIC BELOW THIS LINE
    Sep 9, 2015 12:57 PM - Mike Kelly: _________________________________________
    Sep 9, 2015 12:58 PM - jbigler1986: who wants cake?
    Sep 9, 2015 12:58 PM - bamhm182: Haha
Sep 9, 2015 12:58 PM - Mike Kelly: oh man so funny story about cake
    Sep 9, 2015 12:58 PM - daniel871: That is a lie.
    Sep 9, 2015 12:58 PM - bamhm182: I love cake, too bad it's a lit
Sep 9, 2015 12:58 PM - Mike Kelly: i went to my friends bday on friday
Sep 9, 2015 12:58 PM - Mike Kelly: and the hostess starts walking outside with the cake, studder steps, and the cake slides off the platter onto the ground
Sep 9, 2015 12:58 PM - Mike Kelly: it was hilarious and sad, mostly sad because i wanted cake
Sep 9, 2015 12:58 PM - bamhm182: My roommate's girlfriend had a birthday. Her sister made a cake and it was amazing. I'm usually not a cake person.
    Sep 9, 2015 12:59 PM - bamhm182: Aww, such disappoint
    Sep 9, 2015 12:59 PM - jbigler1986: was she hot
    Sep 9, 2015 1:00 PM - Mike Kelly: she was p cute
    Sep 9, 2015 1:00 PM - Mike Kelly: kinda like a topanga
Sep 9, 2015 1:00 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, but I mean, she had to be, with cake dropping skills like those
    Sep 9, 2015 1:00 PM - bamhm182: So yeah, hot
    Sep 9, 2015 1:00 PM - bamhm182: Well, at prior age standards
Sep 9, 2015 1:01 PM - bamhm182: And Danielle Fishel is apparently still hot, so that's cool

    Sep 9, 2015 1:20 PM - daniel871: Man, I can't wait until the weekend is here again.
Sep 9, 2015 1:21 PM - daniel871: The worst thing about holiday/vacation time is that first week back at work because I'd rather be on vacation.
    Sep 9, 2015 1:21 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, that's the worst
Sep 9, 2015 1:23 PM - Mike Glass: So can buy 2 pulley for $6 or get it with 5 meters of belt for $9.75
Sep 9, 2015 1:24 PM - daniel871: Also, is it me, or is a different person posting every day on FB about wanting to sell their Robo and get a better printer?
Sep 9, 2015 1:25 PM - Mike Glass: what for money could possibly be better.
Sep 9, 2015 1:27 PM - Mike Glass: what to do with 500 bright white led's.
Sep 9, 2015 1:27 PM - daniel871: Being advised to save up another $800 and get the E3D BigBox next year, or save up another $300 and get the Rostock Max Delta kit.
    Sep 9, 2015 1:28 PM - bamhm182: [IMG]
    Sep 9, 2015 1:28 PM - bamhm182: About time!
Sep 9, 2015 1:28 PM - daniel871: Or save some money and get an HICTop like Blake did and learn on it.
Sep 9, 2015 1:29 PM - Mike Glass: how about just build one from the openbuilds platform?
Sep 9, 2015 1:30 PM - Mike Kelly: nice print bam, lead screws?
    Sep 9, 2015 1:30 PM - bamhm182: Nope

Sep 9, 2015 1:34 PM - daniel871: Will probably wait to order until the first reviews come in after it's released in 2016.
Sep 9, 2015 1:34 PM - daniel871: Just for the extra bit of paranoia.

Sep 9, 2015 1:36 PM - Mike Glass: He has like 13 now
Sep 9, 2015 1:36 PM - bamhm182: I think I might call it good at 4. That's still about a 2% chance, which is better than any other contest I've ever been a part of
Sep 9, 2015 1:36 PM - Mike Kelly: just give him a R1+ and have him print the rest
Sep 9, 2015 1:36 PM - daniel871: His streaming channel has saved videos for each of his prints on it, but I haven't counted them.
Sep 9, 2015 1:37 PM - Mike Glass: I have other builds going on, and out of special filament.
Sep 9, 2015 1:37 PM - bamhm182: Plus I really want to print some other things. Gotta finish up this raspberry pi gameboy and when I was on vacation, I rewatched all of the star wars episodes and have been dying to print out a couple of things
Sep 9, 2015 1:38 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm not looking forward to the shipping costs of returning these pieces
Sep 9, 2015 1:38 PM - Mike Glass: not that heavy

Sep 9, 2015 1:38 PM - Mike Kelly: i might just offer that if someone else pays the shipping they can have my entries
    Sep 9, 2015 1:38 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, but it's going to need a big box
    Sep 9, 2015 1:39 PM - Mike Kelly: ^
Sep 9, 2015 1:39 PM - Mike Glass: not really, 11 fit nice in a shoebox

    Sep 9, 2015 1:39 PM - bamhm182: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:970868
Sep 9, 2015 1:39 PM - Mike Kelly: and the leg pieces are big
    Sep 9, 2015 1:40 PM - bamhm182: Yeah they are
Sep 9, 2015 1:40 PM - Mike Kelly: i hope the pieces i got last night aren't so crazy big
Sep 9, 2015 1:41 PM - bamhm182: I was going to have to ship my lead screws back anyways, so I asked harry if I could toss them in a box with those and he didn't have a problem with it
Sep 9, 2015 1:43 PM - Mike Glass: I think I got screwed on that deal, still have not heard a word from them.
    Sep 9, 2015 1:43 PM - bamhm182: Try contacting Harry again

Sep 9, 2015 1:47 PM - bamhm182: They shipped mine but didn't give me a tracking number until last night.
Sep 9, 2015 1:47 PM - bamhm182: Until Harry told me that, I was thinking that they would send me them once they received my bent ones
    Sep 9, 2015 1:48 PM - bamhm182: The bigbox looks pretty epic
Sep 9, 2015 1:48 PM - bamhm182: Wouldn't mind having one of those at all
Sep 9, 2015 1:49 PM - Mike Kelly: they decided to do an advanced RMA
Sep 9, 2015 1:53 PM - daniel871: Someone just said if you're spending more than $1,000 on a printer you're doing it wrong on FB. Wonder if that's the guy you were arguing with, MK?
    Sep 9, 2015 1:54 PM - bamhm182: Probably
Sep 9, 2015 1:54 PM - Mike Kelly: it was the community owner
Sep 9, 2015 1:55 PM - Mike Kelly: not him
Sep 9, 2015 1:55 PM - Mike Kelly: also hilarious that that guys already jumping ship
    Sep 9, 2015 2:00 PM - bamhm182: Anyways, I've decided that it's late enough that I can go to sleep. I'll see y'all around

Sep 9, 2015 2:26 PM - donhuevo: mercury switch on the float
Sep 9, 2015 2:28 PM - Blake Benefield: our dryer start switch went out a few years ago on our old dryer... wife was out of work and our company was still fledgling. I used a doorbell switch and a 110-5v led to fix it. Wife hated it... buddy that got the dryer from me thought it was awesome
Sep 9, 2015 2:32 PM - Mike Kelly: anyone else build a cornhole set?
Sep 9, 2015 2:32 PM - Blake Benefield: been a while, but yeah
Sep 9, 2015 2:32 PM - Mike Kelly: http://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/outdoors/structures/how-to-build-a-regulation-cornhole-set looks like decent instructions
Sep 9, 2015 2:33 PM - Mike Kelly: i wonder if there's a design that would store better

    Sep 9, 2015 2:34 PM - Mike Kelly: https://translate.google.com/transl...to-build-a-regulation-cornhole-set&edit-text= this works?
Sep 9, 2015 2:35 PM - jbigler1986: No MK. I deal with enough of them. I don't want to touch them when I get off of work
Sep 9, 2015 2:35 PM - Mike Glass: I thought we were done talking about cornholes.
Sep 9, 2015 2:35 PM - Mike Kelly: seriously, worst game name ever
Sep 9, 2015 2:35 PM - Mike Kelly: that reminds me i want to make a 3d printed + 1/2" pvc ladderball set
    Sep 9, 2015 2:35 PM - jbigler1986: we call it Tailgate Toss
Sep 9, 2015 2:36 PM - Mike Glass: redneck golf you mean?
    Sep 9, 2015 2:36 PM - jbigler1986: i do like ladderball. I have a nice metal set from work
Sep 9, 2015 2:36 PM - NFOsec: monkey golf is another one.
Sep 9, 2015 2:36 PM - jbigler1986: the bean bags use to be filled with corn
    Sep 9, 2015 2:36 PM - jbigler1986: bollo toss as well

Sep 9, 2015 2:37 PM - NFOsec: I actually run a league of 12 teams during the summer.
    Sep 9, 2015 2:37 PM - Mike Kelly: lmao
    Sep 9, 2015 2:37 PM - NFOsec: :)
    Sep 9, 2015 2:37 PM - jbigler1986: homemade boards?
    Sep 9, 2015 2:38 PM - donhuevo: http://www.cornhole.com/Default.asp

Sep 9, 2015 2:39 PM - Blake Benefield: JB... you gonna hook me up with some bama gear?
Sep 9, 2015 2:39 PM - donhuevo: there's a new game my dad just turned me onto involving two six foot poles, two empty beer bottles and a frisbee
Sep 9, 2015 2:39 PM - Blake Benefield: i'll get you some too, its ok.
    Sep 9, 2015 2:39 PM - jbigler1986: what kind of bama gear
Sep 9, 2015 2:40 PM - Blake Benefield: lol, i dunno man. i'm mostly kidding really
Sep 9, 2015 2:40 PM - Mike Kelly: i think i've seen that game before don
Sep 9, 2015 2:40 PM - jbigler1986: i know what you are talking about don. I just sent one of those out to one of our factories last week. Probably to rip off
Sep 9, 2015 2:40 PM - Mike Kelly: oh no you're a bama fan, i don't think we can be friends
    Sep 9, 2015 2:41 PM - jbigler1986: I'm not a fan but i don't hate them either

Sep 9, 2015 2:42 PM - Mike Kelly: JB i saw you guys lost this last week :-\
Sep 9, 2015 2:42 PM - jbigler1986: yep. football sucks. we played in the 3rd and 4th like we were up by 20
Sep 9, 2015 2:43 PM - donhuevo: almost everyone in my company are diehard buckeye fans
Sep 9, 2015 2:43 PM - NFOsec: well, half of that donut batter maker is pumped out.
Sep 9, 2015 2:43 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm still sour at bama for the 2005 holiday bowl when bama made the worst kick to win
Sep 9, 2015 2:43 PM - Mike Kelly: thing was a duck, but somehow went 37 yards
    Sep 9, 2015 2:44 PM - jbigler1986: happens
Sep 9, 2015 2:44 PM - jbigler1986: I'm ready for college basketball. We are going to dominate people

    Sep 9, 2015 2:48 PM - jbigler1986: good luck pushing them around
    Sep 9, 2015 2:48 PM - Mike Kelly: eh
Sep 9, 2015 2:48 PM - Mike Kelly: ok i got unbanned from the 3d printing group
    Sep 9, 2015 2:49 PM - jbigler1986: lol
    Sep 9, 2015 2:54 PM - Blake Benefield: lol
Sep 9, 2015 2:54 PM - Blake Benefield: that was when we had shula too mk
Sep 9, 2015 2:56 PM - Blake Benefield: jamie christensen or something. we called him "money". he couldn't kick for shit but somehow always made it when the game was on the line
Sep 9, 2015 2:59 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm still confused how you went to auburn but like bama, that makes no sense
Sep 9, 2015 2:59 PM - Blake Benefield: I was a bama fan before i went to auburn
    Sep 9, 2015 3:02 PM - Blake Benefield: jb, who's your team?
Sep 9, 2015 3:02 PM - daniel871: Bama is only good for football. You go to Auburn if you actually want a career outside college.
    Sep 9, 2015 3:02 PM - Mike Kelly: ah
    Sep 9, 2015 3:02 PM - Mike Kelly: haha
    Sep 9, 2015 3:03 PM - daniel871: Kind of like UGA/Ga Tech.
Sep 9, 2015 3:04 PM - daniel871: (All of it assumes you can afford to mortgage your career or are already from a rich family or qualify for scholarships though)
    Sep 9, 2015 3:05 PM - Blake Benefield: [IMG]
Sep 9, 2015 3:05 PM - Blake Benefield: MK... when i played wow i did signature banners for people... look behind the 100
Sep 9, 2015 3:05 PM - Blake Benefield: which do you put first in the UGA/tech debate daniel
    Sep 9, 2015 3:06 PM - Mike Kelly: bitchen
Sep 9, 2015 3:08 PM - Blake Benefield: for alabama/auburn it depends on what you want to do. Alabama is one of the best med schools in the country. Auburn is more of an agricultural school
Sep 9, 2015 3:14 PM - Mike Kelly: texas tech has one of the best petroleum engineering programs in the country, and surprisingly good law and business schools
Sep 9, 2015 3:16 PM - Blake Benefield: alabama has a really good law school as well. business I would give the upper hand to auburn.
Sep 9, 2015 3:17 PM - Blake Benefield: the problem is that the university is so big it gets diluted. university of north alabama, UAB, USA etc are all extensions of University of Alabama. They all fall under the same umbrella but they're all separate
Sep 9, 2015 3:17 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm sure texas beats us in most everything, but they're freaking LOADED with oil money
    Sep 9, 2015 3:17 PM - Mike Kelly: assholes
Sep 9, 2015 3:19 PM - Blake Benefield: yep, they're huge like that too
Sep 9, 2015 3:19 PM - Blake Benefield: they're bigger than any institution in the country and they don't dilute their name either
Sep 9, 2015 3:21 PM - NFOsec: MK: Good old Lubbock, TX.
Sep 9, 2015 3:22 PM - NFOsec: My profile pix is "on location, in Lubbock"
Sep 9, 2015 3:22 PM - Mike Kelly: yup lubbock is... something
    Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: you mean besides UT:SA?
Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - NFOsec: well, the campus is something else, the houses that line the west road are unbelievable.
Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: for sure
Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: the campus is amazing, i love it
Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - NFOsec: very strong Alumnus and boostered school that's for sure.
    Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: yup
    Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - NFOsec: me too.
Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: we have a lot of pride in our university
Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: lubbock leaves something to desired culture wise
Sep 9, 2015 3:23 PM - Mike Kelly: but i had fun there
Sep 9, 2015 3:24 PM - NFOsec: most amazing thing was seeing the stages of the destruction of the southern side homes -- skid row, the blighted areas... at one point, there was just about 15-20 homes left and next door was the latest hotel.
Sep 9, 2015 3:24 PM - NFOsec: yeah, but they're all friendly. lol.
Sep 9, 2015 3:25 PM - NFOsec: leave the campus, there is no life.
Sep 9, 2015 3:25 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah even while i was there there was a ton of demolition
    Sep 9, 2015 3:25 PM - Mike Kelly: yup
Sep 9, 2015 3:25 PM - Mike Kelly: kinda sad really
Sep 9, 2015 3:25 PM - Mike Kelly: apparently there used to be a whole area of crap housing they called the "tech ghetto"
    Sep 9, 2015 3:25 PM - NFOsec: true
    Sep 9, 2015 3:25 PM - Blake Benefield: bbl
Sep 9, 2015 3:25 PM - NFOsec: yeah, all gone.
Sep 9, 2015 3:25 PM - Blake Benefield: mk... at least tubby left ya without sanctions!
Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - Mike Kelly: then they elect a mayor, declares it all imminent domain, and sold the land to his family
Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - Mike Kelly: which i still find funny
Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - NFOsec: I have a good number of pictures from the last razings.
Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah fuck tubby, i hate that asshole
    Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - NFOsec: haha..
    Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - NFOsec: yeah.
    Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - Mike Kelly: Mcsomething
Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - NFOsec: got you started now.
    Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - NFOsec: McButt.
Sep 9, 2015 3:26 PM - Mike Kelly: there we go, mcdougal
Sep 9, 2015 3:27 PM - Mike Kelly: though the new housing they put there is top notch
Sep 9, 2015 3:27 PM - Mike Kelly: i lived in the center across campus one year
Sep 9, 2015 3:27 PM - Mike Kelly: place was really nice
Sep 9, 2015 3:28 PM - Mike Kelly: ah college days
    Sep 9, 2015 3:28 PM - NFOsec: *sigh* yeah.
Sep 9, 2015 3:29 PM - NFOsec: I was there mostly on business, but always got my share of the sights.
Sep 9, 2015 3:30 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah last time i was there was for business
Sep 9, 2015 3:30 PM - Mike Kelly: my friend drove me around though
Sep 9, 2015 3:30 PM - Mike Kelly: and i spent way too much at the apparel store
Sep 9, 2015 3:31 PM - Mike Kelly: we keep talking about going down for a game but it hasn't been in the cards
Sep 9, 2015 3:31 PM - Mike Kelly: i know someone who has box seats, really need to convince her to let us go
Sep 9, 2015 3:38 PM - NFOsec: boy, that would be a fun excursion, but yeah...
    Sep 9, 2015 3:38 PM - Mike Kelly: http://e3d-online.com/is-carbon-killing-your-nozzle
Sep 9, 2015 3:38 PM - Mike Kelly: she owes me too lol
Sep 9, 2015 3:40 PM - NFOsec: good stuff on the nozzles. lasers have similar dynamics with the lens, people don't take care of them they lose out.
Sep 9, 2015 3:40 PM - NFOsec: but abraisive materials are going to become the norm anyway unless they can composition them and have them change their states in heat/cold/treated situations.
Sep 9, 2015 4:27 PM - donhuevo: quite a few special shots in this search... https://www.google.com/search?q=awk...&bih=993#tbm=isch&q=awkward+80s+school+photos
Sep 9, 2015 4:29 PM - donhuevo: someone's next desktop wallpaper could be in there somewhere
Sep 9, 2015 4:56 PM - Kevin Nguyen: If I wanted to print an intake for my car what material should I use.
    Sep 9, 2015 5:12 PM - Mike Kelly: ABS or ABS/PC
    Sep 9, 2015 5:16 PM - jbigler1986: Concrete
Sep 9, 2015 5:17 PM - Mike Kelly: damn imgur over capacity

Sep 9, 2015 5:58 PM - Printed Solid: Mike, I'm stocking those nozzles. Was super excited to see that post today.
Sep 9, 2015 5:59 PM - Printed Solid: wow. that is an odd PR move. I've got to think that people who JUST bought R1s before the plus was announced are probably irritated enough without a contest rubbing it in their faces.
    Sep 9, 2015 6:07 PM - Kevin Nguyen: Mike what is abs/pc
Sep 9, 2015 6:27 PM - NFOsec: PS: yeah, and how many used the meme generator online...
Sep 9, 2015 6:43 PM - Sims Reaper: well, I finally bucked up and installed a second nozzle fan with duct. Also upgraded fans to 40mm Noctua's. Hopefully this will solve my PLA curling issue.
Sep 9, 2015 6:44 PM - Sims Reaper: I will need to find a fan and duct combo that is a bit smaller, as the one I picked does hit the top on the back side.
Sep 9, 2015 6:52 PM - Sims Reaper: I'm trying to print an Aria Dragon in Glow in the Dark PLA, but at 50% size. Littlest mistake and I lose a leg :(
Sep 9, 2015 6:53 PM - jbigler1986: Yep. We just bought one at work. Bullshit
    Sep 9, 2015 6:54 PM - daniel871: Ugh, those memes are painful.
Sep 9, 2015 6:57 PM - Mike Kelly: I don't know how to meme, but when i do it's on facebook
Sep 9, 2015 6:57 PM - Mike Kelly: Aria is super hard sims
Sep 9, 2015 6:57 PM - Mike Kelly: took so many tries
Sep 9, 2015 7:00 PM - Sims Reaper: I have a really nice full size one. Just want a mini one too... Greedy

Sep 9, 2015 7:03 PM - daniel871: Someone take that "It's Goofy Time!" Meme with the kid on the floor shouting "No dad, no!"; change the goofy voice bubble to say "I bought an R1 one month before the R1+ was released!" and post it.
Sep 9, 2015 7:04 PM - Sims Reaper: This weekend I'm gonna put on a full loop of Bright White LEDs, replacing those blues. Have the Led string, just need an hour of free time
    Sep 9, 2015 7:05 PM - daniel871: For reference: http://static.fjcdn.com/pictures/It_9e0b12_368693.jpg
Sep 9, 2015 7:06 PM - Mike Kelly: do it daniel
Sep 9, 2015 7:06 PM - daniel871: Thunderstorm knocked the power out and I'm phone posting.
Sep 9, 2015 7:07 PM - Mike Kelly: man that happens to you so much just buy a generator man
    Sep 9, 2015 7:07 PM - daniel871: Can't do it myself right now.
Sep 9, 2015 7:07 PM - daniel871: Be my luck lightning would hit the generator.
Sep 9, 2015 7:08 PM - daniel871: I figure the meme contest will be over before I get to it tomorrow, so was throwing that idea out for someone else.
Sep 9, 2015 7:09 PM - daniel871: Bonus points if they change goofy's head into and R1 printer like the Steam Sale version tgat has the Steam logo on goofy and a wallet where the kid is.
    Sep 9, 2015 7:10 PM - Mike Kelly: don't have an R1 to upgrade

Sep 9, 2015 7:12 PM - daniel871: Hm. Got some sample filaments with my Rambo.
Sep 9, 2015 7:13 PM - Mike Kelly: neat anything good
Sep 9, 2015 7:13 PM - daniel871: Some super clear stuff and some bright lime green. Would be nice if they were labelled.
    Sep 9, 2015 7:13 PM - Mike Kelly: haha
Sep 9, 2015 7:14 PM - daniel871: Probably PLA and some petg variant.
Sep 9, 2015 7:15 PM - daniel871: Whatever ultimachine sells, haven't looked at their filament pages.
    Sep 9, 2015 7:16 PM - Mike Kelly: maybe it's polycarbonite
    Sep 9, 2015 7:17 PM - daniel871: The clear one?
Sep 9, 2015 7:17 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah, doubt it though
Sep 9, 2015 7:17 PM - daniel871: Here is some filament, enjoy your clogged nozzle because we coukdn't be bothered to tell you what it is.
    Sep 9, 2015 7:18 PM - Mike Kelly: hahaha
Sep 9, 2015 7:19 PM - daniel871: Come home from work to find it partially melted because it is PVA and the high humidity ruined it.
Sep 9, 2015 7:19 PM - Mike Kelly: that's the only thing that's clear they sell
    Sep 9, 2015 7:19 PM - Mike Kelly: they don't sell PET
    Sep 9, 2015 7:19 PM - daniel871: What is? PVA or PC?
Sep 9, 2015 7:19 PM - Mike Kelly: PVA is kinda yellowish
    Sep 9, 2015 7:20 PM - Mike Kelly: but it's so expensive i can't imagine they'd just sample it
    Sep 9, 2015 7:20 PM - daniel871: It isn't a lot. Probably 5ft.
Sep 9, 2015 7:20 PM - Mike Kelly: their filament is pricey in general
Sep 9, 2015 7:21 PM - daniel871: Probably just sampling to go with the rambo.
Sep 9, 2015 7:21 PM - daniel871: Doubt they just do it for any order.
    Sep 9, 2015 7:22 PM - Mike Kelly: natch
Sep 9, 2015 7:22 PM - daniel871: You ordered some filament? Have this sample to try too.
Sep 9, 2015 7:22 PM - nonmindo: whats up bitches!
    Sep 9, 2015 7:22 PM - Mike Kelly: howdy
    Sep 9, 2015 7:22 PM - daniel871: The humidity.

Sep 9, 2015 7:23 PM - nonmindo: didnt know you could to begin with lol
    Sep 9, 2015 7:24 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm pretty beat
Sep 9, 2015 7:24 PM - daniel871: There was a brief glorious afternoon when everyone could edit any comment and we lost editing altogether until that was sorted.
Sep 9, 2015 7:24 PM - nonmindo: and..... apparently i cant modify or delete my comments from work computer....boeing MCAfee just flagged the shoutbox operation as a virus lol
    Sep 9, 2015 7:25 PM - daniel871: I pity the office that uses McAfee.
    Sep 9, 2015 7:25 PM - Mike Kelly: extended this earlier: http://imgur.com/a/8N6xW
Sep 9, 2015 7:25 PM - nonmindo: sadly every company I have worked for here in WA has used McAfee
Sep 9, 2015 7:27 PM - nonmindo: So checked back on my previous question from last night in the shoutbox archive, thanks to those who answered about the lulzbot mini pre-print wipe question i had.... I figured I would have to sacrafice some bed area if i wanted to make it work....i'll prolly not do it
Sep 9, 2015 7:27 PM - daniel871: PCDecrapifier > Remove McAfee > get MS Security Essentials and be better off.
Sep 9, 2015 7:27 PM - daniel871: Be the only person at the office getting work done instead of fighting McAfee all the time.
Sep 9, 2015 7:27 PM - nonmindo: MS Sec Essentials is what I use at home.....Boeing is strict on their installations and stuff...we have to maintain FAA compliance so we have to use a lot of programs they tell us
Sep 9, 2015 7:28 PM - Mike Kelly: just take it off the Y it's not like the heated pad uses all 10"
Sep 9, 2015 7:29 PM - nonmindo: that was what i was thinking
Sep 9, 2015 7:29 PM - nonmindo: i also noticed that my heater doesnt even heat all of the heated area lol, it disipates from inner to outer (which is kinda to be expected)
Sep 9, 2015 7:29 PM - Mike Kelly: it uses a 8.2"x8.2" as listed on the product specs
Sep 9, 2015 7:30 PM - Mike Kelly: which is crap
Sep 9, 2015 7:30 PM - Mike Kelly: but oh well
Sep 9, 2015 7:30 PM - nonmindo: MK would it just be as simple as reducing the print area in slicer, then putting the holder onto the bed, putting the felt in, and yanking the G-Code for the process from the lulzbot/
Sep 9, 2015 7:30 PM - daniel871: You'd think Boeing would spring for NOD32 or TrendMicro or AVG
Sep 9, 2015 7:31 PM - nonmindo: We have to use McAfee for FAA encryption requirements
Sep 9, 2015 7:31 PM - Mike Kelly: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1682938109/robo-3d-printer/description always funny going back and reviewing this
Sep 9, 2015 7:31 PM - Mike Kelly: sounds more or less right
Sep 9, 2015 7:33 PM - nonmindo: ok cool, i might take on that as a "finishing touches" project... there are more important things for me to get sorted...like why my magnets keep coming unglued, upgrading the z to lead screw, getting e3dv6 and simplify3d lol
Sep 9, 2015 7:33 PM - nonmindo: and holy crap, that KS robo looks HAGGARD AF
Sep 9, 2015 7:34 PM - Mike Kelly: the video shows an entirely different model from the pictures
Sep 9, 2015 7:34 PM - Mike Kelly: and both of those are far from what was shipped to the backers
Sep 9, 2015 7:34 PM - nonmindo: I like that robo is not only re-releasing the printer as a whole new printer revision, but also allowing past customers to buy the upgraded components
Sep 9, 2015 7:34 PM - Mike Kelly: like using lead screws
Sep 9, 2015 7:35 PM - daniel871: I actually like the look of that aluminum carriage.
Sep 9, 2015 7:35 PM - nonmindo: probably stop doing that though once they release the R2
    Sep 9, 2015 7:35 PM - Mike Kelly: the mythical R2
    Sep 9, 2015 7:35 PM - nonmindo: lol
    Sep 9, 2015 7:35 PM - daniel871: BigBox 2 will happen first.
Sep 9, 2015 7:35 PM - nonmindo: I'd be ok if they didnt release it and only kept upgrading the R1 lol
Sep 9, 2015 7:36 PM - nonmindo: MK is that IR sensor project you were working on yesterday for bed leveling or just like an endstop replacement?
    Sep 9, 2015 7:36 PM - Mike Kelly: i bet at CES they'll announce a release date
Sep 9, 2015 7:36 PM - Mike Kelly: uh, well it's both yes
    Sep 9, 2015 7:36 PM - nonmindo: ohh neat
Sep 9, 2015 7:37 PM - nonmindo: I couldnt tell from the product desc exactly what it was for
    Sep 9, 2015 7:37 PM - Mike Kelly: yup
Sep 9, 2015 7:37 PM - nonmindo: you plan on doing a "how-to" for it?
Sep 9, 2015 7:37 PM - daniel871: Does it work with tape on the bed or are you having to go with shiny adhesives?
Sep 9, 2015 7:37 PM - Mike Kelly: it works with pretty much everything except mirrors
    Sep 9, 2015 7:38 PM - nonmindo: nice
Sep 9, 2015 7:38 PM - nonmindo: so does it go in place of the z-axis end stops only or does it work for the x as well?
Sep 9, 2015 7:39 PM - Mike Kelly: it replaces the Z axis endstops, doesn't impact the X at all
    Sep 9, 2015 7:39 PM - nonmindo: ok
Sep 9, 2015 7:39 PM - Mike Kelly: i wasn't planning on a how to, too expensive right now
Sep 9, 2015 7:39 PM - Mike Kelly: maybe if it was like half as much
Sep 9, 2015 7:39 PM - nonmindo: $40 doesnt seem too bad to me if its super accurate and uses less power
Sep 9, 2015 7:39 PM - Mike Kelly: uses less power?
    Sep 9, 2015 7:39 PM - nonmindo: nvm
Sep 9, 2015 7:40 PM - nonmindo: i didnt think about that part of my statement
Sep 9, 2015 7:40 PM - nonmindo: mainly i just care its more accurate lol
Sep 9, 2015 7:41 PM - nonmindo: what would you guys suggest to use to re-attach my bed magnets....both of the back ones have popped off the bed.... i tried superglue and that was well....less than effective...right now i just have the dammn glass electrical taped to my carriage on the corners
Sep 9, 2015 7:42 PM - nonmindo: i have all sorts of electrical tape on my machine now lol....some holding my web cam on till i can figure out a good mounting method for a fixed focus cam.....and i have some putting tension on the right z rod cause it was vibrating on x movements at the top of the housing where it goes into the little stabilizer
Sep 9, 2015 7:43 PM - Mike Kelly: accuracy is the main draw for me
Sep 9, 2015 7:43 PM - Mike Kelly: and reliability
Sep 9, 2015 7:44 PM - Mike Kelly: my probe was fun but sometimes it wouldn't trigger right

Sep 9, 2015 7:44 PM - Mike Kelly: i used two part epoxy to secure my magnets on my original bed, they're still stuck on good
Sep 9, 2015 7:44 PM - Mike Kelly: my home made bed the magnets came off for some reason
Sep 9, 2015 7:44 PM - nonmindo: ok like the epoxy that comes as a single unit with 2 tubes attached and you squeese out equal parts and mix?
    Sep 9, 2015 7:44 PM - Mike Kelly: exactly
Sep 9, 2015 7:45 PM - Mike Kelly: i used the kind for plastic because i used it to make my Y axis
Sep 9, 2015 7:45 PM - Mike Kelly: i printed my linear rail upgrade that now comes stock
Sep 9, 2015 7:45 PM - nonmindo: ok i was thinking epoxy too, but wasnt sure about the adherance between metal/glass
    Sep 9, 2015 7:45 PM - nonmindo: ohh nice
    Sep 9, 2015 7:45 PM - Mike Kelly: well it's really metal/paint
Sep 9, 2015 7:45 PM - Mike Kelly: but yeah
Sep 9, 2015 7:45 PM - Mike Kelly: ymmv but it's worked well enough
Sep 9, 2015 7:45 PM - Mike Kelly: CA glue is also good but i think two part is best
Sep 9, 2015 7:46 PM - Mike Kelly: doesn't turn everything around the glue area white either
Sep 9, 2015 7:46 PM - Mike Kelly: which is a weird side effect
Sep 9, 2015 7:47 PM - nonmindo: true true....my refurb bed has all sorts of scratches in the paint...kinda sad, but also i'll live with a few scratches and scuffs (outer housing has a couple black marks) if i can save a couple hundred lol
Sep 9, 2015 7:48 PM - nonmindo: i knew i was going to need/want to do some upgrades so it was important for me to try and get it as low as possible
Sep 9, 2015 7:48 PM - nonmindo: I have plastruct plastic weld... i dont suppose that would work for the adherance since it relies on chemical welding plastics, rather than adhesion
Sep 9, 2015 7:50 PM - Mike Kelly: they use high temp black paint to repair paint scratches like that
Sep 9, 2015 7:50 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah wouldn't work, you need a bonding agent
Sep 9, 2015 7:52 PM - nonmindo: ahh kk.... i think my pops has some of that 2-part epoxy around......
Sep 9, 2015 8:13 PM - NFOsec: lets put it this way, you need something that smells, that junkies sniff on a regular basis because that'll probably be the product to support adhesion.
Sep 9, 2015 8:14 PM - BryZad: the liner steppers upgrade is not that hard as i though t
Sep 9, 2015 8:17 PM - NFOsec: Well, if you do it one step(per) at a time it shouldn't be right?
    Sep 9, 2015 8:20 PM - BryZad: i am doing both
Sep 9, 2015 8:28 PM - nonmindo: for anyone interested in the GCODE for the lulzbot mini pre-print head wipe, here it is :)

Sep 9, 2015 at 9:14 PM - BryZad: can you connect a stepper the wrong way ?
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:15 PM - BryZad: one side of the lead screw upgrade will not home and looks like the stepper hardly moves
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:17 PM - Mike Glass: I suppose you could plug it in backwards
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:17 PM - BryZad: well when i pulled the left stepper connector off it it was flip from the right one
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:18 PM - BryZad: its like the left one freaks out when trying to auto home
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:20 PM - Mike Glass: wonder if you unplugged something else then.
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:20 PM - BryZad: damn guss i am taking the bottom off agian lol

Sep 9, 2015 at 9:30 PM - BryZad: I just got done printing a 32INch halo 4 battle rife prop that streached the spool to less than a foot left lol
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:30 PM - Bill Monroe: it does look like that huh :)
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:30 PM - Mike Glass: I decided to get back to printing my chair.
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:35 PM - Bill Monroe: i getting close to finishing the wiring on my router
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:35 PM - Bill Monroe: just have the E-Stop circuit and the encoders left to connect
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:38 PM - Bill Monroe: two more layers, think I'm good
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:49 PM - BryZad: yea auto leveles will mes with it more in the morning
Sep 9, 2015 at 9:57 PM - Bill Monroe: done

Sep 10, 2015 at 2:40 AM - Bill Monroe: good morning
    Sep 10, 2015 at 4:56 AM - bamhm182: Morning, Bill
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:18 AM - JeffTheMess: morning robonauts
    Sep 10, 2015 at 5:18 AM - bamhm182: Hey Jeff
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:19 AM - JeffTheMess: hows it going bam
    Sep 10, 2015 at 5:25 AM - bamhm182: Not too bad
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:25 AM - bamhm182: Finally got around to cleaning out my desk and work bench
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:25 AM - bamhm182: About to go to the gym and ship off a couple pieces of Robbie and my bent steppers
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:26 AM - JeffTheMess: how many you printed?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 5:26 AM - bamhm182: 4
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:27 AM - bamhm182: Probably going to stop there. 2% is still pretty good odds compared to most contests I've entered
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:27 AM - bamhm182: Of course, if time passes and they're far behind, I'll probably pick up some more
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:28 AM - JeffTheMess: you know how many parts are there in total?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 5:28 AM - bamhm182: 200ish
    Sep 10, 2015 at 5:28 AM - JeffTheMess: wow
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:30 AM - bamhm182: Yeah, thing is going to be HUGE
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:35 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah it is
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:36 AM - daniel871: Hopefully my leadscrews supposedly coming in tomorrow aren't bent.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 5:36 AM - bamhm182: Same
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:38 AM - JeffTheMess: you'd think they would give it extra packing precaution for that reason
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:38 AM - daniel871: Just bubble wrap piled around it in my first shipment that this one is replacing.
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:39 AM - daniel871: The Rambo board I ordered was packaged in static bags, inside a sectioned cardboard box, which was then surrounded by actual styrofoam packing in the shipping box that came to me.
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:41 AM - daniel871: Reminds me that I need to spend some time finishing dissassembling the Robo tonight and start mounting and wiring the Rambo up so that I can put the leadscrews in after they arrive.
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:45 AM - bamhm182: Rambo looks pretty sweet. I like how the stepper drivers are controlled via software. Only 1/16 though, not that 1/32 changes anything
    Sep 10, 2015 at 5:59 AM - daniel871: Stock Robo is 1/16, right?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 6:08 AM - bamhm182: Yeah
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:14 AM - bamhm182: Anyways, going to the gym, I'll be on later
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:38 AM - JeffTheMess: when you want to "fly" over someone you don't like
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:58 AM - daniel871: Posted that meme to the Robo3D facebook meme "contest" that I was talking about with Mike last night in the Shoutbox.

    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:02 AM - JeffTheMess: lol
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:04 AM - JeffTheMess: refurbished robo3d plus lol
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:05 AM - daniel871: Refurbished already?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:06 AM - JeffTheMess: possibly
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:08 AM - daniel871: I know internet memes by definition are awkward, but good grief most of the ones posted there make me cringe.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:16 AM - JeffTheMess: no originality most are indeed stupid
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:18 AM - NFOsec: lol. yeah. the last one wasn't that bad.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:20 AM - NFOsec: not sure if it qualifies as a meme, but perhaps.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:22 AM - Mike Glass: haha funny daniel
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:26 AM - NFOsec: risky comment for a free robo isn't it?
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:30 AM - Kevin Nguyen: e3d comes in today. once that happens its 3d teardown time
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:33 AM - daniel871: Free Robo is never going to happen so I figure why not?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:33 AM - daniel871: And yeah, it's a meme. http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/its-goofy-time
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:35 AM - NFOsec: I meant the last one, hanging by a thread.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:36 AM - NFOsec: looks like it is. a few of those are HIGHLY questionable.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:36 AM - NFOsec: Well, the Taulman 910 comes in today, can't wait to test that out.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:36 AM - Mike Kelly: morning
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:37 AM - daniel871: Morning MK. Looks like I had time to make that meme after all.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:38 AM - Mike Kelly: hahaha
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:38 AM - Mike Kelly: woo getting my lead screws today
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:38 AM - daniel871:
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:38 AM - daniel871: Mine are some time tomorrow.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:38 AM - daniel871: Hopefully yours aren't bent.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:38 AM - Mike Kelly: inorite
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:40 AM - Kevin Nguyen: i received mine yesterday.... but my hotend snapped
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:40 AM - daniel871: Welp.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:40 AM - Kevin Nguyen: ikr
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:40 AM - Kevin Nguyen: today is printer day with my e3d comingin
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:41 AM - daniel871: At least the Robo is a less expensive learning experience than a Makerbot would have been (given their lawsuits for crappy printers).
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:41 AM - Mike Glass: Mike, I mailed support on my lead screws, I WASN'T on the list.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:41 AM - WheresWaldo: Morning everyone, I'm praying we are not discussing politics this morning.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:42 AM - Mike Kelly: oh geez are you shitting me mike
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:42 AM - Mike Kelly: i even told jerry about you
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:42 AM - Mike Kelly: wtf
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:42 AM - Kevin Nguyen: rip the mike supprt team

Sep 10, 2015 at 7:43 AM - NFOsec: WW: they are.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:43 AM - Mike Glass: I even sent them the original email I sent. with the pictures.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:43 AM - Mike Kelly: *smdh*
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:44 AM - Mike Kelly: remember that thing I said about 3d printers being bipartisan so there's no need to discuss politics on here
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:44 AM - WheresWaldo: Hey @NFOsec, a word of caution, Alloy 910 does warp on larger parts. You will need all the tricks used in ABS to stop it.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:44 AM - daniel871: Robo politics at the moment Waldo.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:44 AM - daniel871: I haven't tried any nylons on the PEI sheet yet.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:44 AM - WheresWaldo: And maybe even printing on a raft.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:44 AM - daniel871: Should probably do that after I get the Robo running again.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:45 AM - Mike Glass: On another note, I was printing my chair parts last night and it failed, filament has a bunch of spots where it reaches 2.35mm. :(
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:45 AM - Mike Kelly: big name company in the office today
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:45 AM - Mike Kelly: whoa what filament mike
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:45 AM - Mike Glass: guess
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:45 AM - Mike Kelly: robo
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:45 AM - Mike Glass: haha no
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:45 AM - Mike Kelly: justpla?
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:46 AM - Mike Glass: JustPla, white, this is my 2nd roll of white the first one was fine.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:46 AM - Mike Kelly: super strange
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:46 AM - Mike Glass: but now I have justabs and justpla that have the same issue
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:47 AM - Mike Kelly: man i hope i don't get that
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:47 AM - daniel871: I think Just* filaments may be slipping in quality trying to keep up with orders after people realized how cheap they were.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:47 AM - daniel871: Or how cheap so many Amazon listings were.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:47 AM - WheresWaldo: Agree with Dan
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:48 AM - Mike Glass: I dont want to change in the middle of this chair print
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:48 AM - daniel871: I had that one roll of JustABS that had several breaks in the spool where you didn't discover the line was broken until you came back and saw the slack spool and the printer running in the air.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:48 AM - NFOsec: actually, one of the primary issues I have heard in the composite industry is post-production quality control, these things could sit out unwrapped for a period of time too.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:48 AM - NFOsec: MG: how big is this "chair"?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:49 AM - daniel871: Lawn chair size, I think
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:49 AM - daniel871: Divided up into Robo-printable pieces.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:49 AM - NFOsec: strange that I can't seem to find specifics on MSDS for polyetherimide for laser cutting safety.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:49 AM - Mike Glass: its huge, no not a lawn chair..lol
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:49 AM - NFOsec: cool.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:49 AM - NFOsec: to go with the American Girl doll collection you have?
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:51 AM - NFOsec: mmm... charring, no thanks, will hand-cut the sheet with the sheet cutter.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:52 AM - NFOsec: so what was used to slice the big project?
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:58 AM - bamhm182: Man, cost $15 to ship the leadscrews back with the 4 Robbie parts
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:58 AM - bamhm182: And that was the "cheapest" option
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:59 AM - Mike Kelly: MG did you see my welding job
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:59 AM - daniel871: How did you ship them, Bam?
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:02 AM - danzca6: Harry didn't give you anything to return the leadscrews for free?
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:02 AM - daniel871: Yeah, shipping them back is at your own expense.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:02 AM - bamhm182: I like that "One does not simply leave a 10 hour print unattended" one
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:03 AM - bamhm182: If I leave a print anymore, it's either got a camera on it or my roommates get a phone call or two
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:03 AM - bamhm182: USPS
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:03 AM - daniel871: I'm thinking USPS will be the cheapest option and I'm going to put exactly as much protection around the parts as was in the box shipped to me.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:03 AM - daniel871: Did you use a flat-rate box or the box they sent you?
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:03 AM - bamhm182: Might have been cheaper with Fedex or something, but I didn't check
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:04 AM - bamhm182: Weight was like 3 pounds, so use that how you will
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:04 AM - danzca6: Couldn't Bill just fly out and get them from you?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:04 AM - danzca6: lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:04 AM - Mike Kelly: man if they made me pay to return mine i wouldn't
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:04 AM - bamhm182: Haha
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:04 AM - bamhm182: It's whatever
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:05 AM - bamhm182: Well, now that I'm caught up on my Robbie prints, what should I print now?
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:05 AM - daniel871: Are your new screws straight?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:05 AM - bamhm182: My 3 options are 1) Lightsaber 2)Kirby that I owe someone 3)Raspberry Pi Gameboy
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:06 AM - bamhm182: I haven't gotten them yet. Should be coming in tomorrow
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:06 AM - bamhm182: I feel like I want to do the Kirby just to get it out of the way, then maybe I'll set up the Gameboy to print while I'm at work
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:06 AM - danzca6: Bam, checked my z screws for the new couplers I ordered the other day. Mine don't have threads all the way down.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:07 AM - bamhm182: Actually, I have 4 nuts that I'll need to drop in the Gameboy and I don't know exactly how long it will be before I can drop them in... Hmn...
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:07 AM - danzca6: maybe I won't need to shave them
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:07 AM - bamhm182: Nice
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:07 AM - danzca6: See a pic here http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:990408
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:07 AM - bamhm182: Did you see the picture I posted of the latest Robbie piece?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:07 AM - bamhm182: SUCH a difference
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:07 AM - daniel871: Could've shipped for $6 if you put them in the padded flat rate envelope that was 9.5" x 12.5" Bam.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:07 AM - danzca6: no I didn't
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:07 AM - bamhm182: Oh, but they're circular?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:08 AM - bamhm182: Shit... You're right, dan... I'm so bad at USPS
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:08 AM - danzca6: they are circular
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:08 AM - danzca6: do I need to make it flat on two sides?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:08 AM - bamhm182: [IMG]
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:08 AM - daniel871: I figure the box doesn't matter since the screws are fucked anyway.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:09 AM - daniel871: Looks like a wedge of cheddar.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:09 AM - danzca6: wow, that does look a lot better
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:09 AM - danzca6: looks like the piece I have to print
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:09 AM - bamhm182: I would, and believe me, when you upgrade to these new couplers, returning to the old couplers isn't even going to seem like an option for you
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:09 AM - bamhm182: If you get results like mine
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:10 AM - daniel871: Not a fan of the flat facets in the model.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:10 AM - bamhm182: Probably is. There's a handful of parts that are going to look like that since it's 1/4 of one of the 6 leg rings
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:11 AM - bamhm182: I really want this Gameboy to get done. I'm just going to go ahead and start that print
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:11 AM - daniel871: *1 hour later* bamhm182: Argh! The couplers came loose!
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:12 AM - danzca6: did you put lock tite on the screws securing the coupler to the stepper and lead screw
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:12 AM - bamhm182: Haha, better knock on wood now
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:12 AM - Mike Kelly: they should have resliced it at a higher mesh density
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:12 AM - Mike Glass: what welding job MK?
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:13 AM - bamhm182: No, but that may have been a good idea. I just made sure they were as tight as I felt like making them
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:13 AM - Mike Glass: use superglue in the couplers with some tinfoil
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:13 AM - Mike Kelly: the dog bowl extension: http://imgur.com/a/8N6xW
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:13 AM - bamhm182: I don't think they're going anywhere... *checks them again*
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:13 AM - daniel871: Fill them with soldering silver.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:13 AM - daniel871: Then chew some gum and put that in there too.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:14 AM - Mike Kelly: duct tape
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:14 AM - daniel871: HVAC tape.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:14 AM - Mike Glass: you added the top and bottom?
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:14 AM - Mike Kelly: the bottom
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:14 AM - Mike Kelly: everything above the curved parts was on there
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:14 AM - Mike Glass: nice
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:14 AM - Mike Kelly: i added the 6 posts and the bottom ring
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:14 AM - Mike Kelly: that tape they use on mythbusters to make thing water tight

Sep 10, 2015 at 8:25 AM - Mike Kelly: http://imgur.com/gallery/bmFaD these are great
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:31 AM - danzca6: LMAO
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:31 AM - bamhm182: Ordered 2 spools of black PLA and 1 spool of Red ABS(Apparently screwed that up) and I got 3 spools of ABS... Ugh...
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:32 AM - danzca6: amazon?
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:41 AM - Mike Kelly: wow
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:41 AM - Mike Kelly: fail
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:41 AM - Blake Benefield: mornin fellas
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:41 AM - bamhm182: Yeah
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:42 AM - bamhm182: Wish they would have screwed up in the opposite direction and given me 3 spools of PLA instead
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:42 AM - donhuevo: morning blake
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:42 AM - bamhm182: Now I've got 4 spools of hatchbox ABS and no reason to use it. >_<
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:42 AM - bamhm182: Hey Blake
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:43 AM - Blake Benefield: MK, larger parts will require less, but for something roughly 6"x3.5" printing at 102% seemed perfect for last nights casting. The standard 100% part did not fit when cooled.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:43 AM - danzca6: You might like ABS. They should at least send you the correct ones. They normally just let me keep whatever came in error.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:44 AM - Mike Kelly: sweet blake
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:44 AM - Blake Benefield: really small holes, like 1/8 inch did not fill with sand either. They were basically indentations that had to be tapped
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:45 AM - Mike Kelly: oh yeah that's kinda what i excpected
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:45 AM - Mike Kelly: all my holes are 2.5mm
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:45 AM - Blake Benefield: the bearing holes were perfect.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:45 AM - Mike Kelly: so i'll just turn them into indents for casting
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:45 AM - Blake Benefield: you can leave them as holes if you like, we will try to push more resin into them next time. we casted both molds side by side to see what to do
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:46 AM - Mike Glass: morning Blake
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:48 AM - Mike Glass: I emailed Justpla, see what happens, I cannot return to amazon as it expired on the 3rd..:(
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:48 AM - Mike Kelly: blast
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:48 AM - Mike Kelly: maybe they won't suck...
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:49 AM - Blake Benefield: what are we contacting justpla for?
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:49 AM - donhuevo: to tell them they suck
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:52 AM - daniel871: "Your filament quality has hit the dumpster lately when ordering thru Amazon, what gives?"
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:52 AM - daniel871: "You should order direct from us, then."
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:53 AM - Mike Kelly: sup don
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:54 AM - donhuevo: not much mike
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:55 AM - daniel871: Hey guys if I get the Robo running again and the leadscrews aren't bent, I'm doing to drink something.
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:55 AM - Blake Benefield: define something.... kerosene might not be a good decision
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:56 AM - donhuevo: same with hemlock
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:56 AM - daniel871: Glass of Wine, so boring.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:56 AM - donhuevo: Goldschlagger
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:57 AM - danzca6: College ruined me for Goldschlagger
Sep 10, 2015 at 8:57 AM - Blake Benefield: hemlock the pirate?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 8:57 AM - daniel871: This. http://www.cranecreekvineyards.com/wines-hellbender.php
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:01 AM - Mike Kelly: usually when my robo isn't running and my lead screws are bent is when i drink something
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:01 AM - Blake Benefield: what are you doing that keeps bending your screws?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:02 AM - Blake Benefield: seems like a "that's what she said' scenario
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:02 AM - Mike Kelly: they were shipped that way
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:02 AM - Mike Kelly: but it was mostly a joke
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:03 AM - bamhm182: So that meme competition, it requires you to return your Robo to get an R1+plus
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:03 AM - danzca6: looks like it
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:03 AM - bamhm182: I'm pretty sure most of our Robos are worth more than an R1+plus at this point
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:04 AM - danzca6: other than lead screws upgrade, what else is new with the + that makes a difference
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:04 AM - donhuevo: make THAT a meme Bam
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:04 AM - Blake Benefield: next step for me... cast aluminum belt tensioners!
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:04 AM - danzca6: they mentioned a new filament feeder, but maybe that will be something printable to upgrade for us
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:05 AM - danzca6: Blake, you could sell those...lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:05 AM - Blake Benefield: anything cast is a printable upgrade
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah the gregs wade body has a few revisions to it for the "quick" release hinge
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: it has white LED's instead of blue
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: lead screws w/ new autolevel switch mounts
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: uh and i think that's it
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Blake Benefield: white led's are nice... I've got to get a 12v to 5v led kit... the straight 12v kit is flickerish
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: mine does that too but i think it's from my regulator
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:06 AM - bamhm182: Amazon said they'd create me a shipping label
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:07 AM - Blake Benefield: the 5v led should fix it... in theory
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:07 AM - daniel871: No fn way will I send my dual bowden Robo in after I get it running again.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:07 AM - bamhm182: I'm going to make it a first world problems meme
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:07 AM - Mike Kelly: haha
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:07 AM - Blake Benefield: i'll send you a picture of broken Y clips
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:07 AM - Blake Benefield: JB can do the same
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:07 AM - daniel871: "I've modded my R1 so much, the R1+ would be a downgrade"
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:07 AM - Blake Benefield: im sure there are more
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:08 AM - Blake Benefield: get like 5 people to do it lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:08 AM - Blake Benefield: its sort of sad really... I've been tweaking and teweaking the robo and I still haven't gotten the overall quality as good as the hictop was after about 5 days
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:09 AM - Mike Kelly: ribbing?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:09 AM - donhuevo: no I think he's being serious
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:09 AM - NFOsec: btw, that last cat walking was green-screened. sad fake, the rest are hilarious.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:10 AM - Mike Kelly: joshing?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:10 AM - Mike Kelly:

Sep 10, 2015 at 9:10 AM - Mike Kelly: hey NFO, jerry tells me they include a "filament guide" with the printer now, do you know what he means by that
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Blake Benefield: yea MK, even with the set screw couplers there is more ribbing than on the hictop
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:11 AM - danzca6: I'd like to see some pics of the the changes to get an idea NFO
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Blake Benefield: bought some hardened stainless allthread from fastenal after it came in with a bent part
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:11 AM - Blake Benefield: put them on the hictop and it was significantly improved.. the robo was still sort of meh
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:12 AM - Mike Kelly: blake you won't fix it unless you gety lead screws
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:12 AM - NFOsec: yeah, picture is coming.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:12 AM - Blake Benefield: I know MK, company printer not mine lol. not gonna spend a lot of money until they're willing to pay for it
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:12 AM - NFOsec: I thought it was "stock", but I'm showing two, one where the "guide" is there and the other where the slot looked like it was hacksawed.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:12 AM - Blake Benefield: the hictop is 'mine"
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:15 AM - Mike Glass: are you working today Blake?

Sep 10, 2015 at 9:16 AM - Mike Kelly: wait is the supplied spool holder a top mount now?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:16 AM - Blake Benefield: I am MG
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:16 AM - Blake Benefield: that's why its sporatic replys
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:16 AM - Blake Benefield: replies even
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:17 AM - NFOsec: no, I printed the spool holder.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:17 AM - NFOsec: :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:17 AM - NFOsec: look at that insignificant spectacle of filament in between the slots.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:17 AM - NFOsec: (that's what she said)
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:17 AM - danzca6: lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:18 AM - danzca6: that looks to do what my oiler does the sits in the top slot
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:18 AM - danzca6: does it slide, or is fixed

Sep 10, 2015 at 9:18 AM - NFOsec: the problem is the gap on mine was not a crisp molded line, but rather one that was cut and chip/pushed out since the edges are not clean, so that "guide" slides all over the place and is often the reason for filamenst bundling up on the spool.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:18 AM - NFOsec: so I fixed it.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:18 AM - NFOsec: it slides.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:19 AM - danzca6: mine was a bit jagged as well
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:19 AM - danzca6: some exacto work helped mine as well
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:19 AM - Bill Monroe: good morning
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:19 AM - danzca6: Morning Bill
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:19 AM - NFOsec: not to mention, sliding, it started damaging the edges so I fixed it in place with painters tape for now.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:20 AM - Mike Kelly: gotcha
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:20 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah my spool holder was cutting into the lid
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:20 AM - Mike Glass: maybe its best if you just throw it away..lol

Sep 10, 2015 at 9:20 AM - Mike Kelly: so now i run through a PTFE tube
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:20 AM - NFOsec: yeah, that was my thought as well.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:21 AM - NFOsec: the best way to facilitate this would have been with rails and a properly squared top not jagged.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:21 AM - NFOsec: danz: this is after 6 days of usage.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:21 AM - Mike Glass: not sure why they look like the tops are cut out with a jig saw, so unprofessional looking.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:22 AM - Mike Kelly: https://plus.google.com/u/1/+AlexAnderson3D/posts/HPoRY4zDSLY?cfem=1
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:23 AM - Mike Glass: so here is my 3rd one done out of 12. [IMG]
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:23 AM - NFOsec: yeah, so, what I did was get some teflon molding so I can wrap the top edges around with a non-abbraisive material -- I've had the edges actually cut into the filament causing the hobbed wheel to cut into it more and jam up
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:23 AM - Mike Kelly: what do the colors represent, or just pretty
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:23 AM - Mike Kelly: maybe a mountain range?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:23 AM - bamhm182: I could see the purple being mountains
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:25 AM - Mike Glass: Montana purple mountains
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:25 AM - bamhm182: What do you guys have your first layers set to? I think I want to increase the size because mine always comes out screwed up
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:25 AM - NFOsec: so 407 thru 414 are due? :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:25 AM - Blake Benefield: MG... you should have positioned that knot on the moose a little more strategically
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:26 AM - Mike Glass: Montana purple mountains
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:26 AM - Mike Glass: blow me
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:26 AM - Mike Kelly: TSA are genius: http://3dprint.com/95010/tsa-keys-3d-printed
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:26 AM - Mike Kelly: LET'S RELEASE A PICTURE OF OUR MASTER KEYS WHAT CAN GO WRONG THEY DON'T HAVE THE KEYS LOL
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:27 AM - danzca6: saw that article this morning
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:27 AM - Mike Kelly: bam, i pretty much always do a .3 first layer
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:27 AM - danzca6: be careful what you take pictures of now I guess
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:27 AM - NFOsec: so 407 thru 414 are due? :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:28 AM - Mike Glass: thats not good.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:28 AM - Mike Glass: how do you do that in s3d Mike?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:28 AM - danzca6: I should take a pic of my car key and see if I can model a copy off of the pic that works
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:28 AM - NFOsec: actually, one of my old friends posted a picture of their keys on facebook (they were trying to signify the Green Bay Packers fan support keychain) when I quickly noticed a master on the ring. OH MAN! I said it would be VERY easy to file up a dummy with that.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:28 AM - bamhm182: Just checked my S3D settings and my first layer is set to 90%, so I don't know why it is so terrible with every single print I do
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:29 AM - NFOsec: don't. and if you have a newer car, chances are it might not work if there is an embedded chip in the key tied to the vehicle.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:29 AM - NFOsec: bamh: your first layer is your problem. The glass, filament, etc. are all absolutely perfect.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:29 AM - Mike Kelly: MG first layer height is a % so for .2mm set it to 150%, for .1mm set it to 300% etc
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:29 AM - danzca6: I'm old old school
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:29 AM - NFOsec: <ducks>
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:29 AM - bamhm182: You could just do it with math, MG. Printing at .2? 150% layer height.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:30 AM - Mike Glass: i use 70-80 for my first layer hieght.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:30 AM - Mike Glass: comes out perfect
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:30 AM - Mike Kelly: thick layers help with ABS
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:30 AM - Mike Kelly: https://plus.google.com/u/1/+CameronNorrisUK/posts/9NjiJLJvb5M?cfem=1 whoa
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:31 AM - Blake Benefield: I'm surprised that i can't 3d scan with my lg since it uses IR beams for autofocus distance
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:31 AM - NFOsec: danz: good deal then.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:31 AM - danzca6: my luck would it would snap off and I would be stuck
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:31 AM - Blake Benefield: i know there are sub $200 cell phones that have 3d camera's too
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:31 AM - bamhm182: NFO, I know my glass, filament, etc aren't perfect, but it seems like the first layer is just way too thin
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:31 AM - NFOsec: but, please post samples and give your GPS long/lat specifics of the vehicle, and don't be around it between 1:37pm and 1:38pm today.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:31 AM - bamhm182: Isn't there a setting in the configuration.h for nozzle offset or something?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:31 AM - NFOsec: bamh: that's an insider joke to a posting daniel did earlier. :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:32 AM - Blake Benefield: I need to start using s3D... i've still just been using Cura since i knew how to work it
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:32 AM - Mike Kelly: nozzle offset bam?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:32 AM - NFOsec: how fast are you laying the first layer?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:32 AM - Mike Kelly: you mean like z offset?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:32 AM - NFOsec: slower speeds help too.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:32 AM - bamhm182: 50%
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:32 AM - bamhm182: Yeah, z offset
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:33 AM - Mike Kelly: yes there is a place to define the "probe offset" which is the same thing
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:33 AM - Mike Kelly: it's under the autolevel section of configuration.h
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:34 AM - NFOsec: I always do my first layers at 30%, but that's me.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:34 AM - NFOsec: what do I know.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:34 AM - Blake Benefield: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2490080,00.asp
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:34 AM - donhuevo: someone needs to make a chart with apples-to-apples gcode placeholders for the different software packages
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:34 AM - NFOsec: yeah, not published yet, but there will be a few others that are beating MS to the bone.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:35 AM - Mike Glass: I vote you don
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:35 AM - NFOsec: doneggs: yeah, I was building that up myself. I have a chart I use for my laser and materials, haven't seen anything else yet.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:35 AM - danzca6: Saw that app a few weeks ago and was excited, but then saw it wasn't ready for prime time yet
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:35 AM - Mike Glass: MS can suck it
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:35 AM - bamhm182: Actually, maybe I'll just give rafts another shot
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:35 AM - NFOsec: MG: they do, and they have, and they will.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:36 AM - NFOsec: MK: get any PEI yet?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:36 AM - Blake Benefield: i've gotten to where I brim almost everything bam
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:36 AM - Mike Kelly: i can't believe how often things are reposted in the 3d printing group within like 12 hours
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:36 AM - Mike Glass: He will give you a brim job?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:36 AM - Mike Kelly: i use a printinz plate
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:36 AM - NFOsec: I use a sense scanner (foundation is a kinect 2) I believe and Skanect, works really well.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:37 AM - Mike Glass: skankect is cool
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:37 AM - bamhm182: I tried using skanect with my Kinect, but it worked like crap
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - bamhm182: Probably because the lighting in my garage is terrible
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - Mike Glass: it worked fairly well for me, have to have good lighting
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - NFOsec: mmm.. what size is the Robo3D heated bed?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - Mike Kelly: 8.2x8.2
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - NFOsec: bam: Make SURE you have the latest OpenNI drivers installed, and you need fairly good lighting.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - Mike Glass: ?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - Mike Kelly: not necessarily centered though
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - NFOsec: v1.8 did improve.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - bamhm182: Is it? I thought it was longer than it was wide
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - NFOsec: ok.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:38 AM - Mike Kelly: nope it's a square
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:39 AM - Mike Glass: the heater is square
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:39 AM - bamhm182: Weirdest thing for me was that I could NOT get it to work on Windows, but I plugged it into my Mac Mini and it worked without a second thought
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:40 AM - NFOsec: yeah, so do you cover the whole bed or just the heated portion?

    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:40 AM - bamhm182: So... Scheming time...
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:40 AM - NFOsec: sense? well Windows 10 doesn't support sense.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:40 AM - NFOsec: you need the Kinect drivers, primesense drivers, openNI, and a shitload of patience.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:40 AM - bamhm182: Win the meme contest, find an R1 for cheap because the guy gave up on it, send it in for an R1+plus
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:40 AM - Mike Glass: at least the where it prints on, which is messed up. it will print off of where the heated bed sits
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:41 AM - Mike Kelly: wow robo does not spec that the heated bed is smaller than the build area anymore
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:41 AM - Mike Kelly: deception much?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:41 AM - NFOsec: what about the last one I saw on there with the lizard?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:41 AM - NFOsec: that one should win.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:41 AM - NFOsec: MK: they've withdrawn a lot of tec h specs, even in the user guide/manuels. only the tech reporters and techies reporting it to various sites by self investigation is what you see.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:41 AM - Mike Glass: maybe they put a bigger heater on it.. na
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:42 AM - bamhm182: The hanging by a thread one?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:42 AM - NFOsec: for example, even with print speed standards at 60mm, they don't post it.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:42 AM - Mike Kelly: lol MG yeah right
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:42 AM - NFOsec: bamh: yeah. that was funny.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:43 AM - bamhm182: Yeah, I liked that one, but then I thought for a second and was reminded of the couple of times that my carriage climbed my filament because it got stuck
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:43 AM - bamhm182: *shudders*
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:44 AM - bamhm182: http://bambuser.com/v/5780652
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:44 AM - NFOsec: thus it hung by the thread.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:44 AM - bamhm182: See, like look how SCREWED that first layer is
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:44 AM - bamhm182: But by the second or third layer it will fill in and be fine
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:44 AM - bamhm182: Sure it'll have some blemishes, but it meets my expectations
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:45 AM - Mike Glass: that is ugly
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:45 AM - NFOsec: MK: is the printinz able to be cut to size or?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:45 AM - NFOsec: what temps you running on that? t-glase?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:45 AM - donhuevo: that IS ugly
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:46 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah he can cut the printinz to size
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:46 AM - danzca6: bam, is it under extruding or something
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:46 AM - Mike Kelly: i haven't tried t-glase yet
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:46 AM - NFOsec: why do I see bubbles in the filament?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:46 AM - NFOsec: too hot?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:46 AM - Mike Kelly: moisture probs
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:47 AM - NFOsec: MK: ok, I think I'm going to order a sheet, just wondering if there was a size I should shoot for.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:47 AM - NFOsec: I'm thinking the whole bed. 10" by 14" or whatever it is.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:47 AM - donhuevo: or over cooling
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:47 AM - bamhm182: It's just hatchbox PLA running at 205C
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:47 AM - Mike Kelly: 10x14 is overkill
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:47 AM - Mike Kelly: 10x10 is probably fine, 10x11 will give you a bit more clamping area
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:47 AM - bamhm182: It's being forced to under extrude because of how close the carriage is to the bed
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - danzca6: don, do you think it is the fans putting out too much
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - donhuevo: As an experiment bam, would you be willing to tape off 1/2" or so of the centers of both your ducts?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - NFOsec: 10x11 sounds good.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - NFOsec: ok.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - danzca6: bam, do you have the fans running on first layer
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - NFOsec: thanks bud.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - danzca6: mine are off on first layer
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - Mike Kelly: lol have you guys seen the donaldo trumpez
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - bamhm182: Fans are off on the first layer
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:48 AM - donhuevo: then that ain't the problem
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:49 AM - bamhm182: Don, do you mean so there's no air blowing on the nozzle?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:49 AM - donhuevo: right
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:49 AM - bamhm182: I can try that next time, might be hard to get it in there without stopping this print, but at the same time, maybe I should just call it screwed and stop it anyways
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:49 AM - danzca6: are youprinting the first layer now
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:49 AM - NFOsec: MK: how much Z you lose? (not sleep). :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:50 AM - Mike Kelly: uh whatever the thickness of the bed is
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:50 AM - bamhm182: It's the second layer now
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:50 AM - Mike Kelly: i think like 3mm
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:50 AM - Mike Kelly: not sure what the default zebra plate is, ask daniel
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:50 AM - danzca6: oh, ok...my screen is very small
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:51 AM - donhuevo: from what little of the first layer I can see, it looks awful thin
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:51 AM - bamhm182: Yeah, that's what the issue is
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:52 AM - bamhm182: So that's why I was thinking I should try to increase the first layer thickness by a good deal
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:52 AM - donhuevo: yep
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:53 AM - Mike Glass: wait that makes no sense
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:53 AM - bamhm182: Why?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:53 AM - Mike Glass: if you increase your layer thickness you just smooshing more out the sides
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:53 AM - NFOsec: MK: ordered, looking forward to it.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:53 AM - Mike Glass: you need to raise the z offset
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:53 AM - Mike Kelly: MG no
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:54 AM - donhuevo: bigger z offset to start the print with the nozzle higher to start
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:54 AM - Mike Kelly: if you increase the first layer thickness it will raise the Z axis up more
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:54 AM - Mike Glass: ?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:54 AM - donhuevo: ^
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:54 AM - Mike Kelly: so a 0.8mm offset and a .1mm layer height will get you .9 on z, vs .3mm layer height would be 1.1 on z
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:54 AM - Mike Kelly: if you increase the first layer width it would do what you said
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:54 AM - bamhm182: I've only got an hour and a half before I leave for work... I'm thinking that's not going to be enough time to get to the point where I need to put the nuts in there...
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:54 AM - Mike Kelly: but not thickness
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:55 AM - bamhm182: Kind of thinking about scrapping it and printing something tiny with a larger first layer to see what happens
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:55 AM - Mike Glass: ok I learned something today, time for nap.
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:55 AM - Mike Kelly: bam are you on days now?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:56 AM - bamhm182: I'm working 3-12 EST
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:57 AM - donhuevo: worst shift ever
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:57 AM - Mike Kelly: #TheMilitary
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:58 AM - jbigler1986: hola
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:58 AM - Mike Kelly: yo
    Sep 10, 2015 at 9:58 AM - jbigler1986: miss anything good?
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:59 AM - bamhm182: Oh hey, it's learned another new trick!
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:59 AM - Mike Kelly: not really
Sep 10, 2015 at 9:59 AM - bamhm182: Look at my feed again, the X got thrown off for some reason
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM - Mike Kelly: ouch
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM - bamhm182: Yup
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM - bamhm182: Game over coach, throwing in the towel
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM - donhuevo: looks like it hit some rough terrain and jumped a few teeth
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM - Mike Glass: did you do mutiple layers for your skirt
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah that first layer looks a bit too low
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM - Blake Benefield: i had a pistol grip get jacked up on the Y
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:01 AM - Blake Benefield: figured out the travel distance needed was making the level screws hit the smooth rod brackets
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:02 AM - danzca6: your coupler come loose? LOL
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:03 AM - Blake Benefield: nope, Y axis... it just shifted everything in the print and created weird bridging holes, then because it kept hitting the level screws it pulled the bed out of level
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:04 AM - Mike Kelly: daniel i was expecting more from your meme

Sep 10, 2015 at 10:05 AM - bamhm182: So you know how the original RAMPS has two 12v pairs going into it?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:06 AM - bamhm182: This new board only had a place for 1 pair, so I only gave it 1 pair. I wonder how many of my problems are coming from not having enough power...
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:07 AM - Mike Kelly: won't matter
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:07 AM - Mike Kelly: the PSU is a single rail
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:07 AM - donhuevo: try a small cal cube while you still have time with a higher z offset
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:07 AM - bamhm182: Don't think so?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:07 AM - Mike Kelly: it'll provide whatever is requested ofi t
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:08 AM - bamhm182: I'm still trying to figure out what that X shift is about. My stepper driver is up high enough that it shouldn't slip, and the motor is cool to the touch and with the giant fan, I SERIOUSLY doubt the driver is overheating
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:08 AM - bamhm182: Oh, alright, that makes sense
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:08 AM - donhuevo: was that 1st layer bumpy in places like the nozzle could've gotten hung up?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:10 AM - Blake Benefield: quick question... what do you guys use to clean your beds?? the aluminum on the hictop seems to get tiny spots on it from various adhesives etc.
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:10 AM - Mike Kelly: razor blade but i have glass
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:10 AM - Kevin Nguyen: same as mike
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:10 AM - Mike Kelly: acetone's a good option, or even denatured alcohol
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:10 AM - donhuevo: laquer thinner if you're into that sort of thing
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:10 AM - jbigler1986: i use glass cleaner
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:11 AM - Mike Kelly: bam i think your skip was caused by a bumpy first layer like don said
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:12 AM - Mike Glass: use metal polish to clean it
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:12 AM - danzca6: watching your new print bam
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:12 AM - danzca6: darn fans are big
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:12 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, I'm with jb.. windex exclusively
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:12 AM - donhuevo: the skirt looked a lot better
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:13 AM - Mike Glass: good car buffer works good too
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:13 AM - bamhm182: Could have been the bumpy layer, don. I've noticed the E3D nozzle does like to catch more than the hex did
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:13 AM - jbigler1986: stream didn't work for me. let me try a different browser
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:13 AM - bamhm182: Blake, I use a damp sponge to clean my bed
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:13 AM - danzca6: I use simple green
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:14 AM - bamhm182: Fans really are in the way...
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:14 AM - Mike Glass: tomato juice also works good
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:14 AM - Bill Monroe: simple greens has compnents that are corrosive to some bare metals
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:15 AM - danzca6: that's better
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:15 AM - Mike Glass: yea that is harsh on aluminum
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:15 AM - Bill Monroe: ^^
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:15 AM - Bill Monroe: panned by the FAA
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:15 AM - Bill Monroe: err Banned
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:15 AM - danzca6: I just have glass
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:15 AM - Bill Monroe: then they came out with an "aviation" blend
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:15 AM - Bill Monroe: not corrsive, and it's doesnt clean either :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:16 AM - Mike Glass: but they sell it to them still right?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:16 AM - danzca6: taking the fan off for us bam, that is actually pretty slick
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:16 AM - Mike Glass: cause we all know how smart they are
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:16 AM - Mike Kelly: $50,000 per bottle
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:17 AM - Bill Monroe: oh ya.. appliance operators (pilots who dont know anything other than which knobs to turn) will buy anything that says aviation on it
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:19 AM - jbigler1986: dangerious game there bam
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:20 AM - danzca6: stupid bed buggers
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:20 AM - bamhm182: Fan's moved, printing again
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:22 AM - jbigler1986: is it a first layer issue?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:22 AM - bamhm182: I think it looks "better"
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:22 AM - bamhm182: Going to try a larger size
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:22 AM - danzca6: looks similar to my first layer
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:23 AM - JeffTheMess: very cool http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-Laser-Cut-and-Soldering-Dobot-arm/
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:23 AM - jbigler1986: i see nothing yet. just heating up
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:29 AM - bamhm182: @jb, what's a dangerous game?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:29 AM - danzca6: grabbing the boogers off the plate
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM - Mike Kelly: http://i.imgur.com/yeV8D8w.jpg dammit all
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM - Mike Kelly: MEK substitute polishing fail
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM - bamhm182: MK, whoops
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM - bamhm182: Alright, printing out a 5"x5" first layer now
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM - bamhm182: How's that a dangerous game?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM - NFOsec: so, Bluprint and Taulman 910 just came in, going to start a part in Bluprint first.
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:30 AM - bamhm182: Figure it's better than leaving them on
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:31 AM - NFOsec: MK: ABS and trying to smooth?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:31 AM - danzca6: oh I know, I do the same thing. Hate those boogers
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:31 AM - danzca6: just funny to watch someone else do the same thing
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:32 AM - bamhm182: I also wipe away the excess hairspray with my hand. Probably not the smartest, but meh
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:32 AM - bamhm182: I just try to avoid doing it when it's about to touch the bed for the autolevel
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:32 AM - danzca6: I normally spray the plate once it hits 50C and then by the time the extruder hits temp it's dry
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:33 AM - jbigler1986: i have burnt the hell out of my hand wiping boogers off and scraping the nozzle with my hand
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:33 AM - danzca6: I use a tweezers to grab the hanging filament from the nozzle on it's way to the first touch of the bed
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:33 AM - bamhm182: So I just had a thought, what if the reason that it's coming out all screwed up is because my axis isn't perfectly level
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:33 AM - bamhm182: Because it seems like the left size is higher than the right side on this print
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:33 AM - Mike Kelly: have you not leveled your x axis lately
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:33 AM - danzca6: could be
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:34 AM - danzca6: after the coupler upgrade, that could very well be
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:34 AM - bamhm182: I leveled it as best I could without something to hold my dial indicator
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:34 AM - bamhm182: I really wish my magnets would arrive so I could get my dial indicator to attach to my rods...
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:35 AM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:185643
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:35 AM - jbigler1986: might have to just twist the rods. that's what I have to do
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:35 AM - bamhm182: I'd just print the thing already, but I wanted to check the diameter of the magnets to the dial indicator holder before printing it
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:35 AM - bamhm182: Drivers are up too high to twist them ATM
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:36 AM - bamhm182: Yeah, that's what I want to print, dan, but I've been waiting for these magnets to arrive for like 2 weeks now
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:36 AM - jbigler1986: use your manly grip
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:36 AM - jbigler1986: i dont like that one on the rods. I prefer the one on the extruder so you can slide the carriage back and forth
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:37 AM - bamhm182: Yeah, might just do that. Maybe I'll have the printer print that while I'm at work
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:37 AM - bamhm182: what one are you talking about, jb?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:37 AM - jbigler1986: let me find it
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:37 AM - Mike Kelly: put 2 m8 nuts on to create a lock nut then use that to twist with this: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:729919
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:37 AM - NFOsec: MK: the booger in the pan, was that ABS with attempt to acetone?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:37 AM - Mike Kelly: PLA with an attempt to polish with MEK substitute
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:38 AM - NFOsec: ah.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:38 AM - Mike Kelly: http://i.imgur.com/oGVHksd.jpg
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:38 AM - NFOsec: well, foil would have been a contributor.
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:38 AM - Mike Kelly: looked like that originally
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:38 AM - NFOsec: er could have been.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:39 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:571047 this one
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:39 AM - danzca6: i like that one
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:39 AM - jbigler1986: it's nice because you can slide it back and forth to check the bed level
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:40 AM - bamhm182: I like that one too. Going to print that out
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:40 AM - danzca6: yeah, that would make it easier to see
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:40 AM - Mike Kelly: that's a nice design

Sep 10, 2015 at 10:40 AM - Mike Kelly: haven't used my gauge in forever though
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:40 AM - jbigler1986: it works great if using gregs wade
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:41 AM - bamhm182: Which I still am, so no problems
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:41 AM - Mike Kelly: might make that and shim my R1.7 and disable autolevel
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:41 AM - danzca6: "works well for ploting as well" I can see this being true
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:41 AM - Mike Kelly: that's like the plotter MG made
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:42 AM - jbigler1986: you may have to edit it for your dial indicator
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:42 AM - bamhm182: Hey MG, you know that plate you use to hold your hotend in place? Still got the STL for that?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:42 AM - Mike Kelly: for bowden or gregs wade
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:43 AM - bamhm182: Greg's wade
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:43 AM - Mike Kelly: sure one sec
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:43 AM - bamhm182: My screws stripped a while back and I replaced them with M3 screws, but I feel like the hotend may be a little loose
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:44 AM - Mike Kelly: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nue66uwppx1vly9/Hexagon Quick Release.STL?dl=0
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:44 AM - Mike Kelly: you may need M4-25mm screws but i'm not sure
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:45 AM - donhuevo: bam, I can't tell, is it printing better?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:45 AM - JeffTheMess: you do, you told me that awhile ago and replaced mine
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:45 AM - jbigler1986: MK how is the IR? tested it more?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:45 AM - Mike Kelly: na i didn't play with the mkr1 at all
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:45 AM - Mike Kelly: waiting for my lead screws
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:45 AM - bamhm182: M4 is too big
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:46 AM - Mike Kelly: Bam, M4 is what the greg's wade secures to the carriage with
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:46 AM - bamhm182: Oh wait, do you mean for your quick release?
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:46 AM - jbigler1986: left side looks "higher" than the right
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:46 AM - donhuevo: BAMNIT Bam... answer my bamn question
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:46 AM - bamhm182: I thought you meant for the ones I replaced with M3s
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:46 AM - Mike Kelly: well it's not mine
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:47 AM - bamhm182: It looks like it so far
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:47 AM - bamhm182: I mean, at least this time it's not missing rows
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:47 AM - bamhm182: I'll take a picture when it's done
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:47 AM - donhuevo: smooth on top?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:47 AM - bamhm182: Smoother
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:47 AM - danzca6: bam, did you think the other model might just have an issue?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:48 AM - bamhm182: No
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:48 AM - danzca6: weird to be having gaps like that one did
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:48 AM - bamhm182: Well, maybe, but that's not its problem there
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:48 AM - bamhm182: It's happened like that on a handful of models
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:48 AM - bamhm182: Skipped some rows on some of the robbie parts
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:48 AM - danzca6: ok
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:49 AM - bamhm182: Thanks for the model, MK
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:49 AM - donhuevo: is the left side of the skirt way thinner compared to the right?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:50 AM - danzca6: from our angle, yes.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:50 AM - bamhm182: Yeah
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:50 AM - bamhm182: It also seems to get worse the further back it gets
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:50 AM - donhuevo: is your autolevel doing 9 points
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:50 AM - bamhm182: Yeah
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:51 AM - NFOsec: So, printing a small cup (stock cup at .5 scale) in the taulman bluprint as a test before doing the mounting bracket I want to do. 265-270c extrusion heat and 90c on the bed. coming out really clean.
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:51 AM - NFOsec: in fact, too clean based on daniel's standards.
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:52 AM - danzca6: bam, did you have any of these issues before the new couplers
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:52 AM - bamhm182: Yeah
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:53 AM - NFOsec: MK: This was what I was using, haven't heard of that MEX stuff. http://www.amazon.com/XTC-3D-High-Performance-Print-Coating/dp/B00PFXK4JY
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:53 AM - donhuevo: maybe have a peek around the bed and make sure the gap between glass and end bracket look the same front and back
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:54 AM - donhuevo: I had an issue once where one corner wasn't seating all the way in
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:55 AM - bamhm182: Will do
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:56 AM - Mike Glass: mex..lol its not from mexico
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:56 AM - jbigler1986: XTC
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:56 AM - NFOsec: LOL.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 10:56 AM - jbigler1986: i like mexican food though
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:56 AM - NFOsec: no doubt.
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:57 AM - bamhm182: Done with the first layer
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:57 AM - Mike Glass: MEK- Methyl Ethyl Ketone
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:57 AM - Mike Glass: not sold in most states
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:57 AM - bamhm182: Got worse when it got closer to the left side, but I mean, it's not missing any lines this time...
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:58 AM - jbigler1986: which means the autolevel sucks and your bed isn't level
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:59 AM - jbigler1986: i don't use the autolevel anymore. it pissed me off to much
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:59 AM - Mike Kelly: MEK subs is ethyl acetate iirc
Sep 10, 2015 at 10:59 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah XTC-3D is just a coating, i prefer polishes
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM - Mike Kelly: acetone+abs is fantastic but haven't found something consistent for PLA yet
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM - Mike Kelly: i hear chloroform works...
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM - NFOsec: if you can only stay awake long enough to do it.
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM - NFOsec: but coat then polish?
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:01 AM - jbigler1986: you have lots of that around don't you MK?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:01 AM - bamhm182: [IMG][IMG][IMG]
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:01 AM - NFOsec: heh. MEK MEX MEH MES all look so much alike.
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:01 AM - Mike Glass: change your width on your first layer to 60
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:01 AM - NFOsec: bam: what temp are you extruding at?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:01 AM - jbigler1986: still to low
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:02 AM - bamhm182: jb, so you just manually level it and have autolevel disabled?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:02 AM - bamhm182: I've got it at 205C
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:03 AM - bamhm182: It's currently at 100
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:03 AM - bamhm182: The width
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:04 AM - jbigler1986: i have autolevel disabled and then while it's printing the skirt i twist the rods to get the perfect layer
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:04 AM - bamhm182: Whoops, just realized what time it is, better get ready for work. Later
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:04 AM - jbigler1986: see ya
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:04 AM - bamhm182: Fair enough. May give that a try
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:05 AM - Mike Glass: Hey MK

Sep 10, 2015 at 11:12 AM - daniel871: Wait, what was disappointing about the meme, MK? The lack of reaction?
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:16 AM - Mike Kelly: it wasn't funny, more bitchy
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:17 AM - Mike Kelly: MG yup
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:17 AM - Mike Kelly: jb that goes great with his creepy face avatar
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:18 AM - Mike Kelly: but that's actually the linear bearing model i use
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:18 AM - NFOsec: So, cup printed out, I stood on it full weight bearing, top and side, pretty impressive bluprint material.
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:19 AM - bamhm182: Which meme?

Sep 10, 2015 at 11:22 AM - Mike Kelly: i bet we could design one pretty easily that uses the MPCNC principle
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:23 AM - bamhm182: You Daniel Turner?

    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:25 AM - bamhm182: Yeah, haha
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:25 AM - daniel871: Yeah, the meme I used goes back to 1998.

    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:26 AM - bamhm182: I think S3D is drunk...
    Sep 10, 2015 at 11:26 AM - bamhm182: Look at where it's putting support
Sep 10, 2015 at 11:26 AM - jbigler1986: Everyone that bought a robo within the last month should get some kind of deal

Sep 10, 2015 at 2:19 PM - Mike Kelly: that's a kickstarter printer, you can tell cause it's got the grey j-head
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:20 PM - Kevin Nguyen: the ebay one?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 2:21 PM - jbigler1986: yeah
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:21 PM - Mike Glass: good luck getting one Kevin, thats what Blake was going to get but they couldnt deliver
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:22 PM - Mike Glass: not the ebay one, Folgertech.
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:23 PM - Kevin Nguyen: well i wasnt planning on getting one. but a friend was. ill have to tell him.
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:25 PM - Kevin Nguyen: okay when i change the firmware for the e3d thermistor is it okay to leave it if im going to use my old hexagon thermistor?
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:26 PM - Mike Glass: can you do that?
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:26 PM - Kevin Nguyen: use my old thermistor for e3d
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:26 PM - Kevin Nguyen: and not change firmware
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:26 PM - Mike Glass: I guess as long as you dont go over 260
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:27 PM - Kevin Nguyen: does the new one from e3d able to go over that?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 2:27 PM - jbigler1986: yeah
    Sep 10, 2015 at 2:27 PM - Mike Glass: 300 I think
    Sep 10, 2015 at 2:27 PM - jbigler1986: i believe 300 before it looses accuracy
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:27 PM - Mike Glass: [IMG]
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:28 PM - Blake Benefield: lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:29 PM - Blake Benefield: yeah, i was ordering the folgertech delta kevin
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:29 PM - Mike Kelly: the old thermistor won't fit the e3d
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:29 PM - jbigler1986: usually when we bash robo someone shows us
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:30 PM - Blake Benefield: also, the hictop has a better parts fan and the z steppers are bottom mounted. people report having prints thrown off at anymore than 30mm/s because the z motors create wobble from the Y carriage
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:31 PM - Blake Benefield: JB, I like the robo all in all. I for sure love the community they provide.
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:31 PM - Blake Benefield: but a new printer showing up with a busted y clip, a broken z end stop and a bent screw is just dumb
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:32 PM - Blake Benefield: box wasn't bashed in or anything
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:32 PM - Mike Glass: Should I post that one
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:33 PM - Kevin Nguyen: mk is because its to small or too big?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 2:33 PM - Mike Glass: e3d is smaller I believe
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:33 PM - Kevin Nguyen: the ones i have were smaller than the stock hex so i hope they fit.
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:34 PM - Kevin Nguyen: but if they dont ill just switch
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:35 PM - Blake Benefield: i think so mg
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:35 PM - Blake Benefield: post it
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:37 PM - danzca6: Blake, like your meme about ebay best offer...I felt the same way
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:40 PM - Blake Benefield: heh, poor harry was in here telling jb to offer $499 and they'd accept it (printers were $599 at the time for refurb) and i was like LIES!
    Sep 10, 2015 at 2:40 PM - danzca6: yeah, I wish I knew Harry before I bought mine :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:40 PM - Blake Benefield: i even offered $520 ($550 after shipping) and got nothing
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:41 PM - Blake Benefield: thus the hictop!
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:41 PM - Blake Benefield: hictop has been pretty good. a few learning bits, but i'm glad i got it
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:41 PM - danzca6: that one was funny as well...fix your printer with another printer

Sep 10, 2015 at 2:42 PM - Mike Glass: haha i did it
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:44 PM - danzca6: I'm going to use that on my wife for an excuss to get another printer some day :) It will go along with her "you need to spend money to save money" theory
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:45 PM - Blake Benefield: well, when i put the hictop together I only had a vague understanding of how this worked (barely have more than that now) and i learn something everyday.
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:46 PM - Blake Benefield: But in terms of just working reliably for basic
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:46 PM - Blake Benefield: PLA prints, the hictop is pretty good with stock stuff
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:46 PM - Blake Benefield: I haven't had any issues as of yet anyway
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:47 PM - Blake Benefield: I did learn to ziptie the end stop wires to the carriages to prevent them breaking off from flexing.
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:48 PM - danzca6: I haven't had any regrets getting the Robo for my first printer. I learn a lot each day wether I am printing or not thanks to following this forum
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:48 PM - Mike Glass: now print some lead screws..lol
    Sep 10, 2015 at 2:48 PM - Kevin Nguyen: i wish mike
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:48 PM - Blake Benefield: well, i need to buy some lol, not gonna print them
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:48 PM - Kevin Nguyen: i have just finished installing mine. waiting on my amazon package with my e3d lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:49 PM - danzca6: MG, my z ribbing would ruin it :) Haven't tried threads yet. Waiting to get the ribbing issue fully resolved.
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:49 PM - Mike Glass: Lead screws?
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:49 PM - Mike Glass: best thing you could do
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:53 PM - Blake Benefield: I've thought about ordering an e3d for the hictop but honestly not sure where to start
    Sep 10, 2015 at 2:53 PM - Blake Benefield: it's sort of a mk8 type hotend configuration
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:54 PM - Kevin Nguyen: i ordered one because i broke my hexagon for the second time and im sick of not being about to just great the heater break.
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:55 PM - BryZad: Hey does anyone have ideas to get a good first layer with the lead screw upgrade
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:56 PM - BryZad: I have the first layer not really squashed to the build plate
Sep 10, 2015 at 2:56 PM - BryZad: Would that be in the gcode or firmware ?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 2:59 PM - Mike Glass: gcode, z offset
    Sep 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM - Kevin Nguyen: G1 Z
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM - Kevin Nguyen: after z is the number your raising to
    Sep 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM - Kevin Nguyen: like G1 Z0.448
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM - Blake Benefield: MK, you have some makerbot stuffs don't you?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 3:02 PM - Mike Glass: z -0.50
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:03 PM - Kevin Nguyen: ^if your not low enough
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:04 PM - Mike Glass: I would start at -.7 though
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:04 PM - BryZad: Thanks Mike
    Sep 10, 2015 at 3:04 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah i have a rep2 and there's a 2x at work
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:24 PM - Mike Kelly: yay lead screws arrived
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:24 PM - Mike Kelly: and they look straight
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:24 PM - Mike Kelly: they also have connectors now
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:27 PM - Blake Benefield: might get you to take a look at the current X carriage for the hictop and see how i should mod it for an E3D v6
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:28 PM - Blake Benefield: was looking at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:887386 but i sort of want to be able to easily access it.
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:28 PM - Mike Kelly: sure
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:28 PM - Mike Kelly: did you still want direct drive or would you go bowden
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:29 PM - Blake Benefield: bowden means firmware etc, figured I might keep the same drive
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:29 PM - Blake Benefield: honestly i haven't had a jam yet. biggest issue is feeding the new filament in when swapping
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:30 PM - Mike Kelly: oh
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:30 PM - Mike Kelly: well that mk7 (or maybe 8 or 9 or 10 i can never tell with that style) extruder isn't easy to transition to a v6
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:31 PM - Blake Benefield: well I'm willing to change things up, just hate coding lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:31 PM - Blake Benefield: its just marlin though, so shouldn't be too difficult
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:32 PM - Blake Benefield: my main concerns are that if you use something like http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:905619 then you lose some of your z height due to the length
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:33 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah it's not coding lol just changing a couple numbers
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:33 PM - Mike Kelly: and also you can design it so you won't lose any z height since it won't hit anything above the carriage
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:34 PM - Mike Kelly: oh i see the spool mounts above
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:34 PM - Blake Benefield: not on mine
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:34 PM - Blake Benefield: i mounted it to a solid shelf above the printer that I use for filament storage
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:35 PM - Mike Kelly: so then yeah, easy to design something that won't make you lose Z
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:37 PM - Blake Benefield: I need to play with solid works, this is so simple really that I feel sort of dumb lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:37 PM - Blake Benefield: the current hictop carriage is steel
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:37 PM - Mike Kelly: eh it's only simple when you understand the basics
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:38 PM - Blake Benefield: oh i know. same with photoshop, its overwhelming until you know how the tools work
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:39 PM - Mike Kelly: exactly
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:47 PM - Mike Kelly: arghh print failures
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:47 PM - Blake Benefield: guess i could always use a bowden like http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:711401 to make things easier
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:47 PM - Blake Benefield: then if it sucks I'm not out much lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:47 PM - Mike Kelly: if you keep the same hobbed gear your esteps won't change
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:49 PM - Blake Benefield: right
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:49 PM - Blake Benefield: in theory the saintflint may work too, just wouldn't be the lighter striker
Sep 10, 2015 at 3:59 PM - Blake Benefield: looks like the only make on it for thingiverse used a mk8 gear
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:12 PM - Blake Benefield: the big issue (I think) is that the hictop uses pillowblock bearings with the steel frame mounted to them, then the X belt carriage mounts to the frame. anything I print will need the belt brackets too
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:13 PM - Mike Kelly: yup
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:13 PM - Blake Benefield: crap.. and the parts fan! lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:13 PM - Mike Kelly: i helped someone design a mount for their i3 that's pretty similar to what the hictop uses
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:13 PM - Blake Benefield: well the hictop is considered an i3 variant
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:14 PM - Blake Benefield: i need to look at the frame and see what the deal is. might can get it sorted and setup
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:19 PM - bamhm182: Hey, MK, do you have one of those Quick Releases for the E3D v6? It's just a SMIDGE thicker than the hexagon, so it's loose on the E3D v6
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:19 PM - bamhm182: If you don't, no worries, I'll make it real quick
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:20 PM - bamhm182: Well, not really make as much as modify
    Sep 10, 2015 at 4:32 PM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:33 PM - jbigler1986: New direct drive. Looks like it will work really well. Ran a small test
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:36 PM - bamhm182: Gave up on the Hercastruder?
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:37 PM - jbigler1986: Yeah. Bowden in General for now
    Sep 10, 2015 at 4:37 PM - bamhm182: Fair enough
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:37 PM - bamhm182: Anyways, gotta get back to work. Later
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:38 PM - jbigler1986: If this works good going to try to fit 2 on the carriage
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:45 PM - Mike Kelly: is this the 3rd or 4th time you've given up bowden
    Sep 10, 2015 at 4:46 PM - jbigler1986: 3rd
    Sep 10, 2015 at 4:46 PM - jbigler1986: I said for now
Sep 10, 2015 at 4:58 PM - danzca6: So this Facebook Meme contest requires having a facebook account right? That sucks. I have some good ones and no interest in Facebook
    Sep 10, 2015 at 5:23 PM - Mike Glass: 10th time i think
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:24 PM - Mike Glass: MK im replacing my Z screw on the cnc.
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:26 PM - Mike Glass: this one seems to work better but seems smaller as it doesnt tighten in the HC. so super glue and tinfoil FTW.
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:57 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm just gonna use my old robo one, i hope it doesn't cause ribbing :-X
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:58 PM - Mike Glass: lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:58 PM - Mike Kelly: how long do you let your red loctite sit? a day?
Sep 10, 2015 at 5:59 PM - Mike Glass: I hate that stuff never dries for me, I use superglue
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:04 PM - Mike Kelly: isn't that what you used in your video?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 6:11 PM - BryZad: G1 Z15.0 F{travel_speed} ;move the platform down 15mm
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:11 PM - BryZad: i think that is not right
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:12 PM - BryZad: or would the off set be M565 ?
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:14 PM - Mike Kelly: M565 is the offset. That move command is just a prep deal
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:14 PM - BryZad: okay so if i set the z ofset should make the first layer squish more to the bed
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:15 PM - Mike Glass: Oh for that, it was the blue loctite, I heated it up to make it cure faster.
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:16 PM - Mike Glass: I also used super glue
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:17 PM - BryZad: Mike G you were saying to start at _.7 for the ofset for a better first layer?
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:22 PM - Mike Glass: -.7 is where mine is just at the point of smooshing but not quite.

Sep 10, 2015 at 6:31 PM - Bill Monroe: Still have it
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:32 PM - BryZad: Yeah my Robot part is going to be neon Green
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:32 PM - BryZad: not like anyone else would have pick a outlandish color lol
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:33 PM - Bill Monroe: put some flashing LEDs in it
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:33 PM - Blake Benefield: mine's an anchutz model 54 bill
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:33 PM - Blake Benefield: have a few of them actually
    Sep 10, 2015 at 6:33 PM - Blake Benefield: http://milpas.cc/rifles/ZFiles/Manufacturers/Anschutz/Anschutz Model 54/Anschutz Model 54.jpg
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:34 PM - Bill Monroe: we didnt shoot kraut rifles in those days :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:34 PM - Blake Benefield: I've got some savage bull barrels too
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:34 PM - Bill Monroe: also didnt load them up with crutches.. you shot well or went home
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:35 PM - BryZad: ha ha called you wild Bill
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:35 PM - Bill Monroe: maybe, but they always called me :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:36 PM - Blake Benefield: what crutch do you see there? its an 11 lb rifle with peep sights? doesn't matter what it has, if you can't shoot you can't shoot
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:36 PM - BryZad: do they have a place where you can see where you Robot part will be on the finished statue ?
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:37 PM - Bill Monroe: pistol grips, adjustable stocks, armput hook, forearm aids... that's a chick's rifles
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:38 PM - Blake Benefield: spoken by someone who's never shot one I see :)
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:39 PM - Blake Benefield: that's ok, I know technology can be hard for you older types to adjust to
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:40 PM - Blake Benefield: truthfully all the armpit supports are in box in the garage. don't use them unless you're shooting biath
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:40 PM - Bill Monroe: and the man's rifle is harder to shoot for ladies...
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:40 PM - Bill Monroe: can you get that stock in pink too?
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:41 PM - Bill Monroe: I'll bet I can even find a pic of the stevens... let's see
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:42 PM - Bill Monroe: well, shut my mouth... http://www.icollector.com/STEVENS-M...fle-with-heavy-walnut-stock-and-leat_i9480543
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:43 PM - Blake Benefield: i like stevens.. i have a few of the single shot shotguns
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:43 PM - Bill Monroe: the M44US was match legal too..
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:43 PM - Bill Monroe: ya, thier shotguns were very popular
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:45 PM - Blake Benefield: you should shoot an anchutz if you ever get the chance. you might just like it
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:45 PM - Bill Monroe: naw.. i'm old school
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:46 PM - Bill Monroe: I quit match shooting in my 40s, then I was doing service rifle
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:47 PM - Bill Monroe: i do SASS competitions one in awhile.. those are just plain fun
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:50 PM - Mike Glass: how deep is a vacuum table suppose to be.
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:51 PM - Bill Monroe: vacuum is all about flow so, the larger the passages the better
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:52 PM - Bill Monroe: you only get 14.7 psi on a perfect day so.. more area is in orfer
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:52 PM - Bill Monroe: err order
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:57 PM - Mike Glass: This is just a small 8x8.
Sep 10, 2015 at 6:58 PM - Bill Monroe: table size?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 6:59 PM - Mike Glass: 8"x8"
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:03 PM - NFOsec: MG: doesn't have to be too deep.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:04 PM - Mike Glass: 3.58 mm seem good?
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:04 PM - NFOsec: I have about 6 V-CLAMPs, one is retrofitted against a vacuum table where I made holes.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:04 PM - NFOsec: there is a formula for the vacuum thing, let me see if I can find it.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:05 PM - Mike Glass: I guess it for fitting a certain sealing rope.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:07 PM - NFOsec: well, a lot of those vacuum grids are designed to seal off some of the vacuums as needed or the perimeter of the entire grid for a maximum coverage. what exactly are you using a vac-table for?
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:08 PM - Mike Glass: just small parts for metal
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:08 PM - NFOsec: CNC/milling work?
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:09 PM - Mike Glass: yep
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:11 PM - NFOsec: what kind of vacuum? home made, a product? I have http://vac-clamp.com/, but I've only used them for wood, plastic, PVC, and some masonite/corian materials, never metal.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:12 PM - NFOsec: although I could use aluminum for milling/CNC, it would be a shaving mess doing straight on the vacuum vs. using a spoiler board or something above.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:12 PM - NFOsec: the holding power information gives you some good advice, but might not be what you want.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:25 PM - BryZad: hey if i run out of filament on the robot peice can i just slice it where it ran out and epoxy the other piece to it ?
    Sep 10, 2015 at 7:28 PM - danzca6: so much for perfect
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:29 PM - NFOsec: well, rule is to not run out.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:29 PM - Mike Kelly: alright lead screws are in
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:29 PM - NFOsec: cool thing MK.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:31 PM - Bigc: lead screws showed up yesterday in perfect condition they get installed tomorrow
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:31 PM - Mike Glass: what are you waiting for Big
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:31 PM - Mike Kelly: just gotta update my firmware, calibrate my new z offset and do a test print
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:32 PM - Mike Glass: NFO those are cool clamps
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:32 PM - Bigc: Some sleep
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:32 PM - Mike Kelly: crap i had a question for you MG but now i don't remember
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:33 PM - Mike Kelly: oh yeah
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:33 PM - Mike Kelly: for the 5" 5/16" allthread you use in the micro adjuster feet
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:33 PM - Mike Kelly: does it have to be 5"
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:33 PM - Mike Kelly: i cut my first one 5" then i kinda think I can just cut my other rod in half for 6"
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:34 PM - NFOsec: MG they are, work awesome with my wood and plastic CNC stuff.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:35 PM - Mike Glass: yea it only goes in so far MK, it would just hang out the bottom more.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:35 PM - Mike Kelly: that's kinda what i was thinking
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:36 PM - Mike Glass: I was thinking maybe next ones I make will be larger so I can get some thick foamboard under there.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:36 PM - NFOsec: I was tempted to put together a 12x12" enclosed CNC machine using the spare NEMA-23 motors and G540 driver I had just for metal, would need to find a decent spindle with tool changer at a reasonable cost.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:37 PM - Mike Kelly: define "reasonable"
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:38 PM - NFOsec: well, a "router", something like a Hitachi M12V itself is < $150, a spindle would probably be closer to $500 with a small tool changer (my guess).
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:39 PM - NFOsec: still, with vacuum capabilities, dust/debris containment, it would be easy, but the reality is, I'd be better having a water-cooling based solution, so I think spindle is required.
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:39 PM - BryZad: well i do have another spool of the green i was going to use but i hate to waist a hours worth of printing
Sep 10, 2015 at 7:39 PM - NFOsec: I'm not a CNC / engineer kind of guy, but deep into technology.
