Hey all. I have a printer that I am using for educational purposes and I have my students using Tinkercad to draft up their designs. I have recently run into issues with the transition of the .stl file from tinker to matter control. It looks fine when I export, but as soon as I upload it to matter, the print is sitting about 1mm above the print surface in the preview, and prints as such. When I try to edit the print and lower it to the bed level, it never saves that change. I should also mention that it doesn't have this issue if I upload it to Simplify3D. (The printer we use has to run through matter control) Has anyone else run into this issue? The prints aren't adhering to the bed properly as a result.

Any info would be greatly appreciated (by the kids as well)

Looks like TinkerCad, MatterControl and S3D (just for testing).
Apparently something is going awry between TinkerCad and MatterControl.

Even if the model were NOT on the platform, most slicers have a way to force it to drop to the platform
I don't know MatterControl well enough to comment.

I remember something similar on Matter control and after you changed anything on the "screen" you had to hit save so it would print the changes. Matter control is so glitchy that if you have S3D you really should just use that. Cura is also a massive step up from Matter Control.

I'd love to, but the printer we use at the school runs only on matter control. I've saved it before trying to print. Any other aspect that I change (size, bed placement) will save, just not that height.

Only other suggestion is to try a global Z offset. That might get it closer to the bed.

Doesn't MatterControl have an ALIGN TO BED option. I think that forces MatterControl to place a flat surface adjacent to the build surface.
