Waviness or not...That is the question

    Mike,

    I certainly do understand why you would expect and assume the smooth rods to be 8mm. I did too until I measured them. But despite the rods being manufactured as 5/16" , only one of mine is at the bottom end of the diameter tolerance and rattles in the x axis 8mm linear bearing.

    Given that I will have to replace one rod and strip my Robo down I will replace the lot.

    It would be very helpful to know the precise length of the X axis rods please. This would avoid having to strip the machine down before ordering the replacements.

    As an update on the "waviness" issue I have identified and confirmed one clear cut root cause of the Z Axis ribbing. The fix is simple but the explanation will take me a little time to write up and post.

    I also look forward to this update. Since I cleared the clog on my extruder I'm back to having ribbing. I'm interested in what you've found.
