According to this, I can actually control it wirelessly and can watch it printing as well. That's amazing! I could print things while I'm at work once it's cali rated well enough. Thank you.

When you figure that the OctoPi is linux based, a perl script will do a lot :)

If Octoprint has an Android app, it would dominate that $300 add on tablet.

There are a couple others, but that was the first result.

That might be worth investing in a 50 buck droid tablet. Just for that.

There are actually a couple of good apps to control OctoPi. Just to be clear, OctoDriod is just a front end, like all the octo apps for android, you still need a Linux box running Octoprint or Raspberry Pi running OctoPi as a print server connected directly to your Robo. So you can't just take a $50.00 Chinese Android tablet and control your Robo directly. In order to have direct control from a tablet, it must support USB Host Mode (USB OTG), most cheap tablets do not so you need an adapter cable. Then you need software that actually uses USB Host Mode. That is why MatterControl has what they call a proprietary tablet. To be honest it isn't that special, it has USB Host enabled in Android and the appropriate driver chip inside.

LCD, if you use the 4 x 20 LCD Smart Controller, that one is enabled by default in the Robo firmware, but why buy that when you can get the Full Graphics LCD Smart Controller for a couple of dollars more. I got mine from Banggood and it was $12.97 - a $3.00 coupon I had, so it was cheaper than an eBay 4 x 20 character LCD, that one has to be enabled in firmware.

    Don't we all have those?
    ;)

Good elaboration -- (shop around, some of them do support host mode)

Still, a good LCD is probably better than messing with this for most people. I find keeping a PC tethered was just easier and with the LCD/SD card you don't have to keep it running. Cameras via internet can be done both ways as well. So go whichever route works best for you.

Add a wifi outlet so you can kill the printer remotely too and you are golden.

Is there really that big of a difference from the full graphics? The only issue with the cheap ones is that I'm afraid it won't work with the enclosure.

I plan on using my phone not a tablet, but I probably won't do that just yet.

Google them and compare the features.
The full graphics is a bit larger and has more stuff on the screen, but is it 'stuff' you want on the screen?
    Only you know :)

I went ahead and got it. The cheaper version looks the same as the better one, so hopefully it fits in that enclosure. I'll just design another one if not. Either way, is there a guide for setting that up in the firmware? Not gonna lie. Messing with firmware scares me. Lol

That's extremely helpful and not to be too picky, but what about specifically for the graphical LCD? I'll search for it also. I feel like I'm asking way too many questions.

I think that the going theory is that the full graphics LCD is also "plug and play". The firmware updates are if you want to add mods to the display beyond what it is already set up for.
