Has this ever happened to anyone at the start of their print? Also my x axis doesnt home. It manually moves, but when I try to gome it just moves a little to the right.

Check the X home microswitch. It could be that a wire is getting in the way and triggering it prematurely. Just make sure that:
    1) it is clear of obstructions and moving the carriage manually easily and cleanly makes the switch work.
    2) none of the wires are loose/diconnected on the switch.

I have done that. It doesn't mess up like this all the time. Once every three prints or so.

Then it is a loose switch connection most likely (trace the wire back to the RAMPS and make sure it is all landed solid)..

I have unplugged it, and plugged it back in again. X is plugged in firmly.

And the connections to the switch are solid?

The switch will not stop manual movement (i.e. telling the software to move it further). You can drive them to the ends all day long :) The switches control automatic movement when it is told to HOME.

If you can read the switch with a multimeter (no power on, just read resistance and look for it to open and close correctly when the button is pushed).

Switch is connected firmly. Is there any way to test the connection to my switch to make sure its working? Could this be my problem?

Looks fine. Like I said with the power off take a meter to it and read resistance across where those wires attach to the switch and manually press and release the switch. You should see it toggle between high and low resistance.

    Yes, I got that :)
The switch might be defective and triggering a 'home' just from vibration or other movement. That would stop the X travel before it reached the switch.

I metered the switch and when I put the terminals on the switch it reads that it is on all the time, and when the switch is pressed it turns off. Should it be like this, or should be off all the time, and only be on when pressed?

I tried to move the plug to the other terminals on the switch. Still didn't work.

they are wired nc (normally closed) so yes it's on all the time until the switch is depressed. When pressed does it show open on the meter?

When I try to home the X axis it moves the X about 10mm in the wrong direction. Again this doesn't happen every time. However I'm not sure how to make it not do it.
