I am very close to trashing this thing...
my extruder was making my pla black, a friend suggested I clean my hotend. So I took it apart. Put it all back. now my Y axis isn't moving at all. It's funny because I didn't touch anything to do with the bed. Actually nothing is moving when I use the control. But when I press home, it at least moves the x and z. After that it won't let me move them with the controller. Y isn't moving at all. When i tell it to, I hear the mother noise, but it's not even moving. Any idea?

Might be something binding, loose pulley, or loose belt

Can you move it freely by hand?

Yes I can. But I guess it felt bad for me, because it's working now. after 4 hours of messing with it. The thing that fixed it was leaving it alone I guess.

The rule of tech support. It doesn't work, until you ask for help

True that. Haha and now I have a whole new problem. My thermostat came off of my extruder. How do I put it back on? Do I glue it on (prob not) or is it something more technical?

    Hexagon or jhead?

The hexagon just presses in and held in place with the black boot.

You can also use kapton tape and/or high temp silicone. Like permatrex ultra copper

Okay, so the problem came back. The it isn't released you can still move the Y Axis, but not as freely as when it is released

Sounds like you are getting a low thermistor reading by the arduino and it is not letting the carriage move. If it is hard to move when not released, that is because the servos are holding it in place till the temp reads correctly.

check the wiring from the thermistor to the board and make sure it does have a broken or loose wire. An intermittent connection is the most irritating thing to try and track down.

I can't seem to find anything wrong. But yeah now the whole printer is not working. Won't connect with cura or mattercontrol. It's seen by adrino Prog tho.

If matter control is already running and connected, a new instance of matter control can't connect. Happens sometimes if you minimize matter control. I also had other connect issues and fixed it by removing the driver and re installing it. Right click my computer, select properties, select device manage. right click on the com port that says Arduino Mega and remove it. Reboot

I checked the drivers and everything was fine. I'll just stop using MC. I've Uninstalled and reinstalled that thing so many times. also, figured out why the printer stopped moving thermistor cracked, and the wires were touching each other. Still can't figure out why my bed wasn't moving tho...

People keep telling me I should get off MC, but so far it's working fine for me. I have about 30 prints using it now.
