So measuring the diameter is not how you know. You need to either count the TPI (threads per inch) or if you have a 5/16" nut or an 8mm nut to try and see which threads onto the rod.

How to measure that? Lets play simpler and metric: I wanna refute 5/16 rod. I have metric ruler, what digit I'm gonna find or not?

ok...so take your metric ruler and put it next to the rod and count how many threads are in 25.4 mm or 2.54 cm...if it is 20 then you have 8mm rods, if not then they are 5/16".

See if a 5/16 nut will screw onto it.

Sounds silly, but it will be a certain way to tell.

    Nominal Size
    Major Diameter
    Threads/inch
    Basic Pitch Diameter
    Minor Diameter
    Lead Angle
    at Basic Pitch Diameter
    Height of Fundamental Triangle
    Tensile Stress Area

I don' know how from these get lead per 1 round.. When I seek for upgrade lead screws there will be written just "lead 4mm" and i knew what we are talking about. Now I'm not

If you are replacing the threaded rows with leadscrews then whatever the specs are on the ones you use will determine what needs to be configured in the firmware.

The current beta firmware has all of the correct values for the 5/16 threaded rods.

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do or what information you need.

I do software leveling wrong, once I changed one digit and nuts got out of grooves, was fun

What there gonna be set if i want to make offset (want printer to print -0,05 from z-home) 0,05mm lower?

    http://prntscr.com/cpsdg6

    mattercontrol settings

Seems I found bed level in corners, and it's about normal, but adhesion not well.. So maybe somebody help with link video/photo on software mattercontrol Z offset setting? Manual leveling screw can't help me to find this 0,05 anymore

    Thank you

MatterControl handles this a different way then in a Starting Script like most Slicers, so to answer your question I believe you need to decrease that number to 0.75mm. But do not quote me on that, a simple test will give you your definite answer.

Otherwise do like the screenshot I attached and put the M565 in the Starting Script:

In the Starting Script, to move the extruder 0.05mm closer to the bed you would change the M565 Z-0.8 to M565 Z-0.75.

More negative means the extruder is further away from the bed.

This can be confusing for anyone using MatterControl. Someone else may have a better way to explain it.

Well thanks all! I'm just on the way to solve it! And had several 'almost good' prints. And I've decided to make video of these troubles.

I think it's about my nozzle defective or firmware translation/setting problem

    1. Typical 'snot' case

    2. Almost good printing but as a miracle - it stinks to nozzle!

All print settings screenshots in the video description

    my final product photo:
    bottom http://prntscr.com/ct3qj9
    top http://prntscr.com/ct3qxh
    side http://prntscr.com/ct3r55

    Final product photo 2:
    bottom http://prntscr.com/ct3so2
    top http://prntscr.com/ct3skq

and another product with the same s..it^
    http://prntscr.com/ct3t4e
    http://prntscr.com/ct3t7y
    http://prntscr.com/ct3tkb

So maybe hairspray is bad, but i'm not about that mostly. Z-offset seems good

    QQ:

How does it seem I do printing right way? Why printings looks so :not ideal:?

How i'm gonna clean the nozzle/hotend? Cloth or smth else? Can we make automation of nozzle cleaning?

And one more: I printed left smooth rod support http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:263141 and it's not good hold that. How d'you think maybe better to print another variant like this? http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:199407 or yet another

It almost looks like your Z-offset is too low. You could try some elmers glue stick to see if that works, since it doesn't seem to be sticking very well. Possibly try slowing it down and see if that helps

    Thank you.

you mean paper glue stick? I can't find 'elmers' here, but can find the other producer (if you can tell please what its contents from chemicals). Problem is - i tried 0,15 offset (plus), but starting drob is big enough for sticking to the hotend surind 2nd passage. It seems too big

You think using washable sticking glue stick, drop will stick to the bed hard enough to stick to the hotend then?

And besides: all i do on the video - looks right way?
