I just came up with another plan.
I moved Y Motor to the left, had to flip the connectors for it to go in the right direction and get a longer belt as well as getting Y end stop switch relocated.
I got more room for bed wires to move around so happy happy.
I had to re-design the bed mounts for it to work, so i did and posted it on my thingiverse page along with all of the instructions.
Its already printing parts and works great.

Question. Does anybody know whats wrong with forum image upload ?
I get error no matter what image i upload.

Tony, I just ordered rods and bearings and have printed all but the bed mounts. Still trying to decide whether or not to start with your "330mm" version. I was wondering what your or anyone else's experience has been with that one?

Doubt. I designed everything in 3ds max.
So far everything was accurate so i wouldn't doubt that 330mm would be an issue.
It would need to be as accurate as possible and PLA printed to avoid shrinkage as much as possible to allow bed platform to be as flat as it can get.

Print at lower temps and slower speed.. Lower temps will help to make it precise and lower speed will help cooler extrusion to stick better.
I'd say 16-24 hrs print would be OK.

No clue, never tried. Dont have rods long enough to even try.
    Should be OK in theory.

Since I'm buying a meter of rod I might give the "330mm" a shot. I can always cut them down to the standard size if it doesn't work out. I'll post results once I've upgraded. Nice work on the design and videos!

Hardware acquired and the printing of parts will commence in the coming days. Really looking forward to this upgrade. Massive thank you to Tony for his continued design tweaks and advice.

Does anyone know what the drive belt specs. are and a good place to buy them? I'd like to acquire a longer one just in case I need it when I try the "330mm" upgrade.

    Tony,

I have a Robo3d (Kickstarter version, PLA/ABS) with a heated bed. The bed is currently stock, and consists of a 1/4" sheet of plywood mounted to the drawer slides, and on that a PCB heating element is mounted, and then that is topped with a piece of 3mm borosilicate glass as the print surface. Your bed appears to be different, but I can't tell from the video.

For me to complete your linear bed upgrade, do I reuse the plywood, PCB and borosilicate? How do I secure the glass? It is not the same dimension as the plywood sheet.

Thanks for any help on this.

    Cheers

Reuse screws that held rails to attach bearing housing. Reuse borocilicate bed that is secured by printed retainers using what ever screw fits into made holes.

Can you post a photo of your bed from underneath and the side please. It sounds like you'll either need a new bed or at least attach a kapton heater instead. We'll have a look at your photos and go from there.
