High Temp Filament for automotive use ?

    Does anyone know of a temp resistant filament that could be used inside of a car.

    I have made several custom phone holders for Porsches. But on a hot day in Nebraska they tend to warp from the heat.

    Does anyone know of a filament that has a high temp threshold ??

    Some of the Taulman (sp) nylon filaments have higher temperature ratings if I recall correctly. There are new materials coming out all the time...its kinda hard to keep up :p

    There's high temp PLA. Has a post processing cure that increases it's max temp.

    ABS also withstands higher heat better as well.

    Hey John, PLA has a pretty low glass transition temp.
    Nylons will work. PET (colorfabb XT, t-glase, etc) will also work well as will ABS.

    Second, no wait, third :) the notion on the nylons, they can run quite hot.

    Thanks .. the other part I left out is that it needs to be black.
    I have tried the PET and some nylons (but they are not black, can be dyed but would rather have black)
    got some samples of PFE but need my heated bed to arrive before I try those

    What is PFE?
    Madesolid does offer a black PET now and colorFabb will be releasing colored XT very soon. The black beta I tested was possibly the best overall filament I have ever used.
