We got the Robo3D printer today but I can't get the motors to move during the pre-print testing. Am I doing something wrong?

if you look in the upper right of repetier host do see that you are connected?
If not and you are windows you may need to get teh right USB-serial driver
Mac should be OK but we need to get a bit more information
DO you see lights on the ramps board etc.

I'll have to try it out after work this evening. I can get the exturder and the bed to heat up but can't get the motors to move. Other than that, it's great so far :).

We are connected and the extruder head heats up but the motors will not move using the manual controls in Repetier. We are trying to go through the pre-print testing.
    Any ideas?

I disconnected everything and plugged the printer back in. I saw a green light under the right side of the printer flash twice when I turned on the printer. I clicked the button to heat the print bed and even though the Repetier program says that it is heating up, it isn't. Still no movement from the motors.

Everything seems in order but it is taking a long time to start to print. I reloaded an object to print but it is taking more than30 minutes and it is still not printing. Is this normal?

    no that is not normal
here is a normal process flow
    with approximate times

load stl in to repeteir host minimal time
slice stl into gcode usually less than 1 minutes on complex or large stl files can take longer
start print takes just as long sd it take the extruder to get up to the designated extruder temp

I usually follow this process load stl , start slicing, as it slices I manually turn on the extruder heat so it heats up as slic3r slices I then put hairspray on the bed and when the heating is done so is everything else usually and I sart the print which then takes about 5 seconds
so you probably haveother issues which we need to go through one at a time
so try this start over and do the 15mm cube and time everything you do and put it in the order you do it and maybe I can see where you are having issues

OK. I went step by step and found that I was missing a decimal point in one of the settings, I fixed it and things started to work just fine until; the ABS plastic started to ball up under the extruder head and the printer stopped working. Now I cannot get the printer to turn on. Is there a breaker inside somewhere that can check?

The saga continues. Now the printer is working but not printing. Good thing there is alcohol :).
I've tried doing what I did earlier to get it to print but so far, nothing. I'll keep you posted.

I have a STL object on the grid. The temperature is to the required settings and temperatures. I hit the RUN button and nothing happens and the blue bar over the manual control reads IDLE.

Got things working but the filament is not sticking to the bed. We put the blue painters tape on the bed as it says in the directions, is this the problem?

Mr. Jaws is not working out. The print head is moving like it should but the filament is not sticking to the bed.

Ok I ask that you slow down a bit now I can help but I need to know things got setup right so we can go forward most likely the reason is the height of the nozzle to give you a quick answer but we need to go through a few things to get it set right
