Each of the assembly video starts with the parts you need. Might be the best bet to figure out what's in use

The videos doesnt describe all the specs for all the parts, there are a lot of missing information.
From the kickstart page they mention that it is:

"The low-cost, open source, easy to use 3D printer we've all been waiting for. Help bring your ideas to life, one layer at a time."

So I need the BOM to "clone" my printer

You're right in the videos they just specify the individual bags.

If it helps they use metric screws so M3, M4, M5, etc. If you have a caliper (I suggest having one regardless) you can measure the diameter and length below the head to determine what each is.

    Mike,
How hard would be for then to provide a BOM???

I need the specs for the rods, for example that they don't describe. I dont think I am asking for much, since this is a open source project

I don't want to disassemble my printer in order to get this information, by the way, the only reason why I want to clone my printer is that I don't have do disassemble mine in the first place.

While it is an open source printer that doesn't mean it's like a RepRap Mendel. They gotta hold some ammo to keep people buying :)

it really shouldnt be that big of a deal to take apart your printer, thats the fastest way to get all of the information.

    Mike,

I disagreed. you don't buy because it is a closed system, you buy because you don't either have the knowledge or experience to build one.

They already made available all the specs for the case on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:69794)

We know that the eletronics are a taurino board + plus RAMP 1.4
we have the step motor info, 12V 30A power source, etc.

All I am asking is to have all organized in one place so we can source whatever is broken or need to be replaced or if you would like to learn more about 3d printers (my case)

Do you want to know why I wouldn't disassemble mine???

Because I still want to have a functional printer until I learn all I have about R3D.

So the best for me is to build one, by myself, following the videos, with the BOM provided.

Yeah but being an open source community we should be able to do that ourselves. Open Source doesn't mean spoon fed :)

I'll message coby but I get the feeling he won't respond to that request since it might not be something he wants to share.

    LOL.
Dude, that's why I am asking for the BOM, so I can do it by myself.
Isn't the basis for "Open Source" to be that the sources are "Open" ??????

    you are funny

dont take me wrong, but in my mind I am not asking nothing secret, the videos showed, if you buy as a kit you will have it, I just dont want to disassemble my printer to source the materials. I am not that experienced with 3d printers and I dont want to mess with mine at this point.

But I am willing try build one and post here my results.

Yeah I get ya, but I could see their side of the "Not wanting to do that because then it would be too easy for someone to replicate by just following the BOM". But who knows, maybe he'll post the BOM.

I believe one would never be able to build one, sourcing individual parts, at a R3D price point.

    Anyway, lets see what happens.

Yeah I'm definitely curious how much it would cost to build one.

Yeah, the Printer is "open source" and they are using open source hardware in their printer, which means that they should be sharing all the information about it, I believe I asked before for the details/dimensions of the bed (hole locations) but never got that, I would still like that since I plan on replacing my crap birch wood bed with glass. I don't get why it's so hard to get this information (it's all been asked for before). Also, there is nothing really secrete about the RoBo, it's pretty much your typical RepRap. -PC check out the Prusa i3, pretty much identical to the RoBo in it's workings and everything is available, since it is actually Open source.
