    I bought 8mm threaded rod for the Z axis from bilbycnc and they were bent. When I followed it up with Bilbycnc they told me it wouldn't affect the Z axis printing. That's BS. How about sending straight rods. Not impressed.

    hi,

    i managed to break one end of the Hot end Resistor. any ideas of the values/type of it ?
    3W ? 5W? 6W?
    i tried ebay but the sizes are bigger than what i pulled out of the hot end
    and it's some type of ceramic resistor which isn't available at any of the local shops

    would appreciate any help

    The heater core is a ceramic core 40 watt unit.
    The thermistor is much different... which part did you break?
    (pictures if you don't know)

    the thermistor is the temperature sensor, that is not what i'm looking for

    i already have it, wanted this up and running so i could print the fan bracket to install the E3D

    lol the irony , ya know you can just print the fan bracket with the e3d installed and just point a desk fan at it, ( i didnt do that, i had my mechine shop cut a notch for the e3d, so i still have a metal fan trow).

    so, no one knows the values of the resistor on the hot end...

    funny thing is i asked the Robo support team and Jerry tells me he's going to send me a thermistor ?

    i mean seriously google RESISTOR before replying

    There is no resistor on the hotend that I am aware of. Unless there is one internally somwhere that I have never seen (and I have had mine all apart a few times).

    There is the heater core, the thermistor and the metal bits that make up the nozzle and hotend itself...

    EDIT: that sort of looks like the heater core. 40w ceramic. It 'technically' is a sort of resistor just like the hot elements in a space heater or on your stove are 'resistors' but it is not actually a resistor...

    Probably because you weren't asking for the right thing.

    First off, the part you want is called a "HEATER RESISTOR". It's different from a normal resistor. http://reprap.org/wiki/J_Head_Nozzle#Heater_Resistor 5.6ohm or 6.8ohm

    Secondly, they switched to heater cartridges a long time ago. Doubtful they have any heater resistors lying around.
