The 1/8" thick version will only weigh around a kilo and a half so I guess that's not very much to support.

I'm kind of liking the slide in concept from a safety / error proofing perspective.
If you have it hinged, you can drop it on your head. It certainly won't kill you, but it won't be comfortable.
The more concerning issue would be that if you propped it up, forgot about it, then it came loose during an unattended print.

The slide can be like a French hanger right? Sort of like mounts for cabinets.

Looks great! As long as those 2 sliders will hold the weights of the enclosure and there's enough clearance under the bed to lift it.

BTW, what do you use to make the drawings and models like that? Is it SketchUp?

It's essentially the same design I use now but without most of the front. There's 13mm clearance under my design and this requires 10mm to lift out.

    I use solidworks.

I like it as well, If we can keep travel to a minimum, we can remove mid-print!

Thanks for the correction. I used that to mount my projection screen and it really helped make it easy to mount, secure, and also allowed a little bit of horizontal travel to let everything line up properly.

The french cleat idea is simple and very practical! I like it.

There are enough people who have expressed interest now that we are going to get everything over to the laser cutter today.
We should have kits ready to ship within 2 weeks.

For everyone interested, please message me your email address. Invoices will be sent out through paypal. If you'd prefer to use bitcoin or some other payment method, let me know.

Quick update. First unit has been cut. I'm going to swing by the shop to double check fit for the slight changes that were made since Mike printed the first one.
If everything looks good, we'll get the first batch shipped by Friday at the latest.

Purty. I grabbed the rest of the first orders today. Will ship them out tonite.
Please try to assemble as soon as you can and post feedback here.

A suggestion on assembly: don't do any solvent bonding until you've done a dry fit on everything. I got a few pieces put together backwards while we were dry fitting our first test cut. Taking off the tape and flipping the part around was no big deal, but I would have been SOL if I had solvent welded.

Any chance you guys would be willing to post a .dxf file of the acrylic and a .stl of the clips so those of us with access to a laser cutter could go ahead and make our own?

Yeah I'll be uploading everything online Soon™

Do you want the .125" thick version or the .25"?
