I will be posting some incremental parts pictures here for the 'new' project.
I am not going to 'fess up to what it is, yet. You will have the progress and I am sure some intuitive soul will easily figure it out. About a dozen parts printed, plus some exiting non-printable components. Will be cool.

Spill it dude, or I'm gonna have to eat a box of raisins, and send a cloud your way.

    Ah, it is this one:

Photo attached of parts. I printed the flash arrester out of bronzefill. The rest is PLA. Will be painted and then aged.

The airsoft model this is based on is like 12 bucks all day long on ebay (new even).

20150319_111535.jpg Current status. Looks like it is starting to resemble the item :)
I am probably going to CAD and reprint the wooden grips using woodfill.
That will look better than the cheap plastic.

The weight of the blaster nozzle (since we used BronzeFill) really adds to the realism of the unit so WoodFill will really help on the grips as well.

Here is a rough out of the details. The scope will need an eye piece (NinjaFlex? Yeah, probably).

20150320_110021[1].jpg Here it is assembled, but not painted. The eye-piece is still yet to be printed for the scope. There are a few minor bits (knobs and such) that still need to be added for effect. I am also going to print the handle grips out of WoodFill so I have to cad those up, but the original plastic one helps show what it will look like.

20150328_161414[1].jpg Painting is all that is left.
Well, still working on replacing the fake plastic/wood handles with Woodfill handles, but pfft. Rest is done.

Nice! Are you going to polish the Bronze part?

I am torn between polishing it (and aging it) or going with a chrome finish that we age.
The real one was aged chrome, but I am leaning towards aged bronze :)
It is hard to really polish the bronzefill effectively* so just doing that means I wouldn't need to do anything extra to age it.

*at least I have not found the magic to doing it very good. It still always looks like aged bronze regardless of what I do

Very cool! I have a cast metal DEC kit for the Solo Blaster that is begging to be assembled to a denix mauser.

Here is where we are. I need to age/distress it. I was not happy with the plasitc/fake wood handles.
I can always switch to something else (even them I suppose) for now I am trying a leather wrap. It looks more rough and tumble.
I may print some out of laywood, but not sure.
