    They just tried (apparently) to significantly reduce the extra parts count/pin count on the new style RAMPS and that can only be to try and trim costs. Even a buck a board adds up.

    Ok so I'm wiring now. The r1+ d9 is extruder heat. This needs to go to d10 on the generic board? And the d9 on the r1+ board is the 4 wire bed heat that needs to go to the generic boards d19

    • Swaps D10 and D9 positions, adds 2 pin connector for D10. Firmware stays the same (Pin 9 is fan, Pin 10 is extruder heater)
    • Removes E1 port and reroutes the trace to use as secondary Z driver
    • Adds 2 additional 12v pin outputs for LED's. Removes Aux 2 and 1
    What was wired to D10 goes to D9 (and vice versa) I assume (don't have one to compare to).
    On the Std Ramps mine are wired like this:

    D08 -> Heated Bed
    D09 -> Parts fan
    D10 -> Extruder Heater

    That goes to a thermistor connector. Those are in a different spot (towards the back of the RAMPS).
    T0 is extruder thermistor, T1 is heated bed thermistor

    When you get this done you should document it in a MODS thread with pictures.

    Hey, you at least have an R1+ specific RAMPS to compare to :)
    And take pictures of ...

    Lol I'm getting ballsy haha or cheap. So the z stepper drive has a dual pin, but the wiring has a single header for the single header on the r1+ boards. Do I need to just plug into 1 side of the dual pin? Or will I need to short the pins together?

    End stops have a dual and single header together on the generic. Same question as these are dual pin headers on the r1+ board

    Pictures of what you are asking please.
    I have no idea what you mean.
    On the standard ramps there are two Z stepper connectors and one comes from each Z stepper motor.

    The connector header for the endstops have 3 pins on the standard ramps (-/+/gnd) only the outermost ones are jumpered by the two pin header. If you jumper - to + that would be a problem :)

    Looks correct to me.
    One thing to bear in mind so I will throw it out there now (so you don't panic)... If you test a stepper and it is running the wrong way, simply reverse the connector by the stepper driver card (flip it around 180 degrees and plug it back in).
