OK. I might give it a shot. Might try to exchange it again like 3D printing Robo said. I like to give things my best shot before I resort to requesting a new part. I already had to exchange one printer. I just got this printer maybe 2 weeks ago. I from the start had trouble with it getting clogged.

OK. If that doesn't fix it, do you think I should probably request a new printer? I feel like with your guys' help I'm narrowing down the long long list of possible problems it could be haha

Up to you and how comfortable you are working with it. After warranty even a perfect printer all need maintenance.

Yah I totally get that. This problem just doesn't have a clear answer obviously. I did tighten the y axis belt so that should be good. I'll tighten the x tomorrow. Can it be any other issue you can think of?

Also, thank you guys for all the help. I really appreciate it. It means the world to a n00b.

Im ok with tearing into my printer so i turn down the exchange option and recommend the same.for everyone as you have to learn to fix these things. The plus side we have is this forum and tons of helpful members. Im sure we will get this sorted :)

Edit : its almost never clear but it always gets sorted one way or another :)

Yah I have no doubt about that. I just have to print stuff out for my job. So I'm just trying to get it fixed ASAP.

Not sure if I posted these here: http://m.imgur.com/Akychhr,8h5IH1X

Could the top layer being under extruded be related to the belt tension?

Its doubtful. How many top layers are you using ?i try ro always do 1mm of solid layers all the way around. The belt being tight can help with alot of defects
Id tighten it up and try that cube again and we can keep going.

Could be the drive cogs for the belt are loose on the stepper motor shaft.

Sort the tension and check the screws, those are the "low hanging fruit"

Is there such thing as the belt being too tight?

I would guess it will involve power tools.

What's happening? I tightened the belt. Now it's going the wrong direction.

Yea defianently need to know what the command given was. Im sure we can sort it. Tightening the belt would not change direction of the stepper (unless somehow the stepper got umplugged and plugged back in backwards)

I told it to home. Does the same thing for print. Instead of going to the left and hitting the endstop, it is going to the right. I did my best to open it up last night and make sure everything was plugged in.

Ok so it seems I attached the belt wrong which is what's causing it. Can i cut the belt and do what you did Mark?
