Im guessing but it probably shows r1+ because of the autolevel and the lead screw alternative. Raise that z offset

Oh in Matter Control? It says R1 AND R1 +Plus. You have the beta, but it has been updated to more or less an R1 from the looks of the pictures.

That is an early R1 (remember -- two flavors of it).
It should have autoleveling. the giveaway is the fact that it has the Z axis home switches (two of them) up against the crossbar.
The Beta had one switch on a mount by one threaded rod.

Where do you think it shows R1+? The mattercontrol config say R1 & R1+ (probably works for either)

It has no bottom cover then it probably also has 5/16 threaded rods :)
Not important for this conversation, but just remember it.

ok...since I saw the bed with holes and the printed brackets for the z endstops with endstops that don't have the metal flap and turned different than mine, I thought it was an addon to a beta. Still learning the early robo ancestors. :)

It is really hard to tell some of them. I have seen at least 4 different beta configurations (and I have two of them).
The mods you mentioned can really impact the 'guessing' game as well, but those are the first version of the R1 details.
They originally had the 5/16 rods then went 8 mm and changed the Z home switch mounts a bit too.

Don't be depressed one way or another it will run. Have you adjusted your z offset and tried again?

what does it do when you go to print? Does it probe the bed at nine different spots (touching the bed) and then start printing? If so then your ABL is working and next is to make sure your Z offset is set correctly. Don't get depressed about it. You are in the learning and calibrating stage. You have a very early R1 and you don't have some of the newer changes, but I know some on here that are getting crazy good prints on old beta machines covered in cat hair.

Ok so its extruding fine but is t sticking and globing up? But it IS extruding filament while printing ?

    If yes

    1. Apply adhesive to the heat bed, washable gluestick or hairspray

    2. Add a little more heat to the bed, anything 60 and lower should be more than enough

    3. Lower z offset to make the nozzle closer to the bed

If its not extruding filament and instead is to close and scratching the bed do 1 and 2 but on 3 increase the z offset.

This is all assuming the nozzle isnt WAY above the print bed.

The 50C you have now should be fine. I think you just need to get your Z offset dialed in closer to the bed now.
