Aug 20, 2015 at 7:15 PM - daniel871: Yep. Just have to be patient and make the one at work limp along.
    Aug 20, 2015 at 7:16 PM - jbigler1986: yep. kinda shitty thoug
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:17 PM - daniel871: Replaced the thermistors and cleaned up the wiring a bit. Running the two color frog in ABS on the PEI plate.
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:17 PM - jbigler1986: oh well. i'm about to call it quits posting on the forum and just hand out here

Aug 20, 2015 at 7:18 PM - daniel871: The failed frog last night had a glass smooth bottom surface that popped right off when I grabbed it this afternoon.

Aug 20, 2015 at 7:19 PM - daniel871: Nah. Was just the toes and part of the butt. I'll take a pic of the progress before I head to work and post it though.
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:20 PM - daniel871: Whether it fails or not.
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:20 PM - jbigler1986: robo may want to be careful with Robbie the Robot. "Robby the Robot" & "Forbidden Planet" are trademarks of Turner Entertainment Co., a Time Warner Company
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:21 PM - daniel871: If it fails again I'll probably replace the power supply next. It seems to have a hard time heating up. Took 15 minutes to bring the bed to 105 and both nozzles to 235.
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:22 PM - daniel871: Bed climbed steadily, but the nozzles got to 220 and crawled the rest of the way.
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:22 PM - jbigler1986: the bed just takes forever to heat up at those high temps
    Aug 20, 2015 at 7:24 PM - daniel871: A C&D would be hilarious.
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:25 PM - daniel871: "Change your mascot, we're making another movie some day"
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:26 PM - jbigler1986: yeah. it's how hollywood is. or make them pay royalties
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:26 PM - daniel871: One without Joey from Friends
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:27 PM - jbigler1986: i get that it's spelled different. I just wouldn't want to be even treading close to it
    Aug 20, 2015 at 7:27 PM - jbigler1986: why not Robo Robbie?
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:27 PM - daniel871: Then it'd be that 80s kids toy that played tapes.
    Aug 20, 2015 at 7:27 PM - daniel871: Can't win.
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:28 PM - daniel871: Robo Bo from the Venture Brothers.
    Aug 20, 2015 at 7:28 PM - jbigler1986: crap. well then
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:28 PM - daniel871: The creators of that show would think it hilarious.
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:29 PM - jbigler1986: i doubt anything will happen. you never know though
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:29 PM - daniel871: Only if they sell the thing itself or it otherwise makes money for them.
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:30 PM - daniel871: I didn't even know about it and I've had my printer for several months.
    Aug 20, 2015 at 7:31 PM - jbigler1986: i think it's something they have been more recently
    Aug 20, 2015 at 7:31 PM - jbigler1986: been pushing*
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:35 PM - daniel871: Could've went with a mechanical bear named Robert that they obnoxiously pronounced like Colbert.
    Aug 20, 2015 at 7:36 PM - daniel871: Ro-bear
Aug 20, 2015 at 7:36 PM - daniel871: Ok its time for me to go to sleep I think.

Aug 20, 2015 10:37 PM - Blake Benefield: Daniel. Ill be in ATL next weekend
Aug 21, 2015 2:28 AM - daniel871: Temp fall error again with the screw in thermistors. Happened sooner than with the regular thermistors. Actual temp readouts are fine.
Aug 21, 2015 2:41 AM - daniel871: Going to try redoing the pid autotune.
    Aug 21, 2015 4:37 AM - jbigler1986: Morning
    Aug 21, 2015 4:38 AM - jbigler1986: Probably the parts fans
Aug 21, 2015 4:55 AM - Blake Benefield: Didnt know you were in the south.
Aug 21, 2015 4:55 AM - Blake Benefield: Im just in Birmingham
    Aug 21, 2015 4:56 AM - jbigler1986: i'm not a fan of the south
    Aug 21, 2015 4:57 AM - jbigler1986: lets just say i don't fit in very well
Aug 21, 2015 5:05 AM - JeffTheMess: morning robonauts, happy friday
Aug 21, 2015 5:08 AM - Blake Benefield: Whys that JB? I mean you dont seem like a dick
Aug 21, 2015 5:09 AM - jbigler1986: i don't dont fit in with what there are a lot of in the south. if you catch my drift
Aug 21, 2015 5:10 AM - jbigler1986: I stayed in Jacksonville for 2 months. Lived 5 minutes from the beach. I hated the area and when driving through the south it's just not for me
Aug 21, 2015 5:11 AM - Blake Benefield: No clue man, could be anything. Florida isnt really the south though. It's where rich yankees retire
    Aug 21, 2015 5:11 AM - JeffTheMess: hey i take offense to that :)
Aug 21, 2015 5:12 AM - daniel871: Parts fan was off. Still need to wore power to fan extender.
    Aug 21, 2015 5:12 AM - daniel871: Wire.
Aug 21, 2015 5:12 AM - Blake Benefield: Im assuming you are referring to being a different race than caucasian?
    Aug 21, 2015 5:12 AM - jbigler1986: that is correct
Aug 21, 2015 5:13 AM - JeffTheMess: no ima new yorker
Aug 21, 2015 5:13 AM - Blake Benefield: No one cares here any more than anywhere else
    Aug 21, 2015 5:13 AM - JeffTheMess: well was a new yorker
    Aug 21, 2015 5:13 AM - jbigler1986: i mean i am caucasian
Aug 21, 2015 5:14 AM - jbigler1986: i mean african americans have never done anything to me or anything. It just makes me uncomfortable
Aug 21, 2015 5:15 AM - jbigler1986: Hey Printed. Did you get the parts?
Aug 21, 2015 5:15 AM - jbigler1986: Daniel are the hotend fans blowing on the heat block?
Aug 21, 2015 5:15 AM - Blake Benefield: Hehe. Dude just visit birmingham or atlanta with someone that knows the cities. Youll have a blast
    Aug 21, 2015 5:16 AM - jbigler1986: I very well could
Aug 21, 2015 5:17 AM - daniel871: No. They are clear of the block.
    Aug 21, 2015 5:17 AM - daniel871: http://www.deeznutsforpresident.org/
Aug 21, 2015 5:17 AM - Blake Benefield: There are crap neighborhoods anywhere you go. Racists anywhere you go. Unfortunately for our country stereotypes exist for a reason. While no stereotype ever holds true for an entire group they are generally more accurate than we like to believe.
    Aug 21, 2015 5:17 AM - jbigler1986: he is only 15. boooooo
Aug 21, 2015 5:18 AM - daniel871: The South being a shithole holds true regardless of race though.
    Aug 21, 2015 5:19 AM - Blake Benefield: I disagree. I like it here
Aug 21, 2015 5:19 AM - daniel871: Can't do public transport right. Can't even keep the roads paved.
Aug 21, 2015 5:20 AM - jbigler1986: roads were pretty shitty in like South Carolina if I remember right
Aug 21, 2015 5:20 AM - daniel871: Or the sewers from backing up every time it rains.
Aug 21, 2015 5:21 AM - jbigler1986: went from georgia roads and landscaping being pretty well kept to south carolinas looking like straght shit
Aug 21, 2015 5:21 AM - Blake Benefield: We have decent roads around Birmingham. Some problems from time to time but no worse than when ive lived other places.
Aug 21, 2015 5:21 AM - Blake Benefield: Alabama into tennessee isnt bad. Tennessee into kentucky was like dropping onto a gravel paved path that no one cut the grass on
Aug 21, 2015 5:22 AM - jbigler1986: Our roads get desroyed every winter from plow trucks
Aug 21, 2015 5:22 AM - Blake Benefield: Illinois roads wered much better when i got there
    Aug 21, 2015 5:22 AM - jbigler1986: I like Tennessee
Aug 21, 2015 5:22 AM - Blake Benefield: Where do you live JB?
    Aug 21, 2015 5:22 AM - jbigler1986: Indiana
Aug 21, 2015 5:23 AM - jbigler1986: In the nicest part of Indiana too. Lol
Aug 21, 2015 5:24 AM - jbigler1986: Our roads are nice until winter hits. Then they get destroyed. Once fall hits they get fixed just to get destroyed again the next winter
    Aug 21, 2015 5:24 AM - jbigler1986: I mean spring
Aug 21, 2015 5:36 AM - daniel871: Good grief. Someone on FB in a CNC machine group asked if anyone could recommend a CNC machine with a budget of $500.
Aug 21, 2015 5:37 AM - daniel871: 22 comments so far of people posting variations on "Start a savings account with that and try again when you have enough money to actually buy something"
Aug 21, 2015 5:38 AM - daniel871: I'm thinking about posting a link to the MP CNC and telling him to find someone that has a 3d printer.
Aug 21, 2015 5:38 AM - jbigler1986: lots of people are just dicks
    Aug 21, 2015 5:38 AM - jbigler1986: i never understand people like that
    Aug 21, 2015 5:39 AM - daniel871: I kind of agree with them, actually.
Aug 21, 2015 5:39 AM - daniel871: Any CNC machine that can be bought for $500 is either really tiny or really badly made, sometimes both.
Aug 21, 2015 5:39 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. depends on how big he wants
Aug 21, 2015 5:40 AM - JeffTheMess: cd player cnc
    Aug 21, 2015 5:40 AM - jbigler1986: bam
Aug 21, 2015 5:41 AM - daniel871: That DVD Writer -> Laser Engraver project is pretty neat.
Aug 21, 2015 5:57 AM - JeffTheMess: easy enoug right
    Aug 21, 2015 6:12 AM - daniel871: This one, Jeff: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:902826
    Aug 21, 2015 6:18 AM - JeffTheMess: beautiful
Aug 21, 2015 6:45 AM - Bill Monroe: good morning
    Aug 21, 2015 6:47 AM - daniel871: Morning.
    Aug 21, 2015 6:47 AM - JeffTheMess: morning
Aug 21, 2015 6:51 AM - daniel871: Some comedian left 1-888-447-5594 as their call back number for a telemarketing thing that got dumped to the corporate voice mail.
Aug 21, 2015 6:51 AM - Bill Monroe: it's fine if all you want to do is make marks on stuff
Aug 21, 2015 6:53 AM - daniel871: So somewhere a gigantic nerd works for said company.
Aug 21, 2015 6:57 AM - daniel871: (It's some phone number you get told to call if you beat a high difficulty level on the original God of War game from 2005.
Aug 21, 2015 6:57 AM - daniel871: Also holy crap that was ten years ago.
    Aug 21, 2015 7:02 AM - daniel871: *sad trombone* [IMG]
    Aug 21, 2015 7:04 AM - Bill Monroe: <chuckle>
    Aug 21, 2015 7:11 AM - jbigler1986: morning Bill
    Aug 21, 2015 7:13 AM - jbigler1986: lol
Aug 21, 2015 7:13 AM - jbigler1986: one of those "sad but funny" moments
    Aug 21, 2015 7:32 AM - Bill Monroe: Justin
    Aug 21, 2015 7:41 AM - jbigler1986: hola
Aug 21, 2015 7:42 AM - jbigler1986: trying to decide on what pots and pans to get
Aug 21, 2015 7:42 AM - Bill Monroe: I went to goodwill and just got what I needed after .09b left
Aug 21, 2015 7:43 AM - Bill Monroe: replaced them along the way
Aug 21, 2015 7:43 AM - jbigler1986: i had a set of rachel ray which were actually really good. might get the same
    Aug 21, 2015 7:48 AM - Mike Kelly: mornin
    Aug 21, 2015 7:49 AM - jbigler1986: morning
Aug 21, 2015 7:57 AM - Mike Kelly: how are things this friday
    Aug 21, 2015 8:00 AM - donhuevo: morning
Aug 21, 2015 8:00 AM - Mike Kelly: yo don
    Aug 21, 2015 8:01 AM - donhuevo: hola Mikey
    Aug 21, 2015 8:01 AM - jbigler1986: wonderful. it's friday
Aug 21, 2015 8:02 AM - daniel871: Wonder how much actual lead time people that try to print for that CES thing will get.
Aug 21, 2015 8:03 AM - daniel871: "Parts must be received by December 1st", *sends out emails November 25th*
    Aug 21, 2015 8:03 AM - jbigler1986: lol
Aug 21, 2015 8:05 AM - daniel871: Also I'm starting to really hate a particular sales guy that doubles as the only person that gathers information for some of our customers.
Aug 21, 2015 8:08 AM - daniel871: Keeps using obsolete measure-up templates, then gets mad and calls everyone from the VP down cursing and screaming about how he doesn't understand how Engineering can't figure out how to generate the manufacturing prints for a given part when he gives conflicting dimensional information.
Aug 21, 2015 8:10 AM - Mike Kelly: print some stuff for us and we'll give you a chance of actually giving you something
Aug 21, 2015 8:12 AM - daniel871: Chances are better if only two or three people actually do anything, lol.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:12 AM - Mike Kelly: haha
Aug 21, 2015 8:12 AM - Mike Kelly: i doubt they'd fulfill their end of the bargain if that happens
Aug 21, 2015 8:13 AM - daniel871: I'm getting a little weary of things continuing to fail, honestly.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:14 AM - JeffTheMess: is it 430 yet?

    Aug 21, 2015 8:14 AM - daniel871: That's the kind of stuff I'm dealing with today.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:15 AM - donhuevo: it's 4:18 in Algiers right now
Aug 21, 2015 8:15 AM - daniel871: Also literally the only information I'm going to get.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:15 AM - Mike Kelly: lol
Aug 21, 2015 8:16 AM - daniel871: Also every other part that we're supposed to make that mates up with that part has the same kind of error on it's template.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:16 AM - donhuevo: b is wrong
    Aug 21, 2015 8:16 AM - Mike Kelly: ^
    Aug 21, 2015 8:16 AM - donhuevo: b should be over 2
    Aug 21, 2015 8:17 AM - JeffTheMess: [IMG]
Aug 21, 2015 8:17 AM - donhuevo: is she cute jeff?
Aug 21, 2015 8:17 AM - daniel871: I would believe that if the mounting structure wasn't so close together that the B dimension basically has to be right for the strip to fit.
Aug 21, 2015 8:18 AM - Mike Kelly: that drawing also gives no info on the chamfers
Aug 21, 2015 8:18 AM - JeffTheMess: she 4, I saw it and found it funny enough to share
    Aug 21, 2015 8:18 AM - donhuevo: haha
    Aug 21, 2015 8:18 AM - daniel871: Jared would fill it out.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:18 AM - donhuevo: LMfnAO
    Aug 21, 2015 8:18 AM - daniel871: Yeah, obsolete template.
Aug 21, 2015 8:18 AM - donhuevo: send it back and make him re-measure
Aug 21, 2015 8:19 AM - daniel871: Also another thing being yelled about. "We used that template for years, why is it all of a sudden we have to know this information!"
Aug 21, 2015 8:19 AM - donhuevo: and remind him to carry the one
    Aug 21, 2015 8:19 AM - daniel871: Literally cannot do that, Don.
Aug 21, 2015 8:19 AM - daniel871: Tried that, got reprimanded for it earlier this week.
Aug 21, 2015 8:19 AM - Mike Kelly: He sounds like a gem to work with
    Aug 21, 2015 8:20 AM - donhuevo: ^
Aug 21, 2015 8:20 AM - donhuevo: do you have the part to take your own measurements?
    Aug 21, 2015 8:23 AM - donhuevo: h should be bigger than g too
Aug 21, 2015 8:24 AM - JeffTheMess: jeez a kid in elementary school could see that isn't right
Aug 21, 2015 8:27 AM - donhuevo: you're gonna have one of them soon
Aug 21, 2015 8:28 AM - Mike Kelly: don, finally
Aug 21, 2015 8:30 AM - donhuevo: and maybe food safe too
    Aug 21, 2015 8:30 AM - donhuevo: nice!
Aug 21, 2015 8:30 AM - daniel871: Nope, the part is Demopolis Alabama.
Aug 21, 2015 8:30 AM - donhuevo: wonder if smells like coffee brewing during the print
Aug 21, 2015 8:30 AM - daniel871: Behind ridiculous amounts of security and safety clearances and shit.
Aug 21, 2015 8:31 AM - donhuevo: so you just broke how many laws sharing the picture with us?
    Aug 21, 2015 8:31 AM - daniel871: None.
Aug 21, 2015 8:31 AM - daniel871: It's all corporate stuff. Also untraceable since the end user isn't identified.
Aug 21, 2015 8:32 AM - donhuevo: do we know if any of the values are correct? if you have one known, you can reverse engineer the rest
Aug 21, 2015 8:32 AM - daniel871: Literally tens of thousands of those templates floating around out there (actually an OEM template, not our internally developed template).
Aug 21, 2015 8:33 AM - daniel871: The only known I have that can be confirmed is that the OEM applied 30 degree chamfers on those angles.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:33 AM - daniel871: And I can be reasonably confident of the t-slot clearances.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:34 AM - donhuevo: do you suppose G should equal D+2J?
Aug 21, 2015 8:40 AM - Mike Kelly: http://www.techspot.com/news/61748-arduino-pet-feeder.html cat owners are a strange bunch
Aug 21, 2015 8:40 AM - daniel871: Nope. It's usually somewhat offset to try and balance the total blade width from the tip to the trailing edge.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:40 AM - daniel871: Usually, but not always.
Aug 21, 2015 8:41 AM - donhuevo: as that other side doesn't have it's own letter and measurement, it makes me want to assume they're the same
    Aug 21, 2015 8:42 AM - daniel871: That's assumptions for you.
Aug 21, 2015 8:42 AM - donhuevo: so the diagram itself can't be assumed to be accurate
Aug 21, 2015 8:42 AM - daniel871: Right. It's nowhere near actually proportional in scale.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:42 AM - daniel871: Just rough shape.
Aug 21, 2015 8:43 AM - donhuevo: dude, you're fucked and NOT in the good way
    Aug 21, 2015 8:43 AM - daniel871: Yep.
Aug 21, 2015 8:44 AM - daniel871: So yeah, I'm off of here for a while so I can waste a ton of time drawing up all of the various ways that it's impossible to calculate the real part from the info given and email that out to the world and do some swearing of my own.
    Aug 21, 2015 8:45 AM - donhuevo: good luck

    Aug 21, 2015 8:49 AM - jbigler1986: for one. wtf http://traffic.pubexchange.com/l/2b...137-427e-947a-a44c88311c05/f?u=fastcolabs.com
Aug 21, 2015 8:51 AM - Mike Kelly: my ublock is preventing that

Aug 21, 2015 8:57 AM - jbigler1986: The "Electric Eel" prototype uses multiple conductors to zap the wearer’s shaft with low-voltage electricity

    Aug 21, 2015 9:05 AM - jbigler1986: that printer is under $1k right?
Aug 21, 2015 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: haha yeah
    Aug 21, 2015 9:08 AM - jbigler1986: way to slow

    Aug 21, 2015 9:10 AM - Mike Kelly: right?
Aug 21, 2015 9:11 AM - Mike Kelly: anyone want to buy a "slightly" modified kickstarter robo?
    Aug 21, 2015 9:11 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:976673
Aug 21, 2015 9:13 AM - Mike Kelly: i still have a brush i bought for that purpos
Aug 21, 2015 9:13 AM - Mike Kelly: i wish the robo has "off build surface" area
    Aug 21, 2015 9:15 AM - jbigler1986: yeah
    Aug 21, 2015 9:15 AM - jbigler1986: time to modify
    Aug 21, 2015 9:16 AM - jbigler1986: widen it
Aug 21, 2015 9:18 AM - Mike Kelly: apparently cura is accepting new companies for profiles
Aug 21, 2015 9:22 AM - Mike Kelly: so assuming you didn't care about quality, how much of a 3d printer is feasible to be 3d printed
    Aug 21, 2015 9:22 AM - jbigler1986: hmmmm
    Aug 21, 2015 9:23 AM - Mike Glass: 95%
Aug 21, 2015 9:23 AM - jbigler1986: just about everything besides the motors and rods. even then i wonder how a 3d printed rod would do if you sanded it
    Aug 21, 2015 9:23 AM - Mike Kelly: https://plus.google.com/u/1/117711891876336614618/posts/f8zQZgHbJxf?cfem=1
Aug 21, 2015 9:23 AM - Mike Glass: use Igus filament
    Aug 21, 2015 9:23 AM - jbigler1986: or that
    Aug 21, 2015 9:24 AM - Mike Kelly: i'm think you wouldn't use rods or bearings/bushing
    Aug 21, 2015 9:24 AM - Mike Kelly: you'd do like a v slot style
Aug 21, 2015 9:24 AM - Mike Kelly: or similar
    Aug 21, 2015 9:24 AM - Mike Kelly: with 3d printed bearings
Aug 21, 2015 9:24 AM - Mike Kelly: i feel like a printed timing belt would also be satisfactory
    Aug 21, 2015 9:24 AM - jbigler1986: get on it
Aug 21, 2015 9:25 AM - Mike Kelly: then i'd get that PEEK filament and print a hot end
    Aug 21, 2015 9:29 AM - jbigler1986: lol
    Aug 21, 2015 9:30 AM - jbigler1986: just print PLA?
Aug 21, 2015 9:37 AM - Mike Glass: will a v6 even print peek filament?
Aug 21, 2015 9:38 AM - Mike Glass: or would you need a volcano?
    Aug 21, 2015 9:42 AM - Mike Kelly: v6 would print it
Aug 21, 2015 9:43 AM - Mike Glass: Did you end up redesigning your mount?
    Aug 21, 2015 9:43 AM - Mike Kelly: i haven't yet

Aug 21, 2015 12:21 PM - daniel871: For the best outcome we recommend the following settings: 0.2mm layer height, 10% infill, a wall thickness of 1.2mm or 3 perimeters, and the same for the top and bottom thickness.
Aug 21, 2015 12:21 PM - Mike Kelly: anyone near their robo w/ a ribbon cable atm?

Aug 21, 2015 12:29 PM - Mike Kelly: i don't really even fully understand why it's so bad

Aug 21, 2015 12:40 PM - Bill Monroe: Harry, you think you'll be able to deal with parts made on uncalibrated machines?
    Aug 21, 2015 12:40 PM - Harry: yea
    Aug 21, 2015 12:40 PM - Harry: it wont be a problem

Aug 21, 2015 12:46 PM - Mike Glass: 3d printed parts are the new drug mule didnt you know
    Aug 21, 2015 12:46 PM - daniel871: Wait, wrong robot.
Aug 21, 2015 12:47 PM - daniel871: No Harry, I was just going to put text into one of the surfaces of the model you sent me.

    Aug 21, 2015 12:47 PM - jbigler1986: lol at the cube Bill
    Aug 21, 2015 12:47 PM - Harry: ah ok
    Aug 21, 2015 12:48 PM - Bill Monroe: jb!
    Aug 21, 2015 12:48 PM - jbigler1986: tinkercad makes that easy
Aug 21, 2015 12:48 PM - Harry: does it JB?
Aug 21, 2015 12:48 PM - Harry: Never tried that
    Aug 21, 2015 12:48 PM - jbigler1986: yep.
    Aug 21, 2015 12:49 PM - jbigler1986: it's what i use to modify stl files. very easy
    Aug 21, 2015 12:49 PM - Harry: can import stl's?
Aug 21, 2015 12:49 PM - Bill Monroe: send me another one Harry.. I'll start it when this one is done
Aug 21, 2015 12:49 PM - Mike Glass: can I just use a branding iron on the part
    Aug 21, 2015 12:49 PM - Harry: awesome
Aug 21, 2015 12:49 PM - Harry: and will do Bill!
Aug 21, 2015 12:49 PM - Bill Monroe: this time in that funky old "red" orange that I got with my Costco machine
Aug 21, 2015 12:49 PM - Harry: let me get a more "fun" one lol
    Aug 21, 2015 12:49 PM - Bill Monroe: ok
Aug 21, 2015 12:50 PM - jbigler1986: it's web based. i have made a few parts from scratch on there too
Aug 21, 2015 12:50 PM - Bill Monroe: i'll do one in XT and put MG's name on it
    Aug 21, 2015 12:50 PM - Mike Glass: FU billy..lol
    Aug 21, 2015 12:50 PM - Bill Monroe: :)
Aug 21, 2015 12:52 PM - daniel871: How do you punch letters into the STL, JB?
    Aug 21, 2015 12:52 PM - daniel871: With Tinkercad?
Aug 21, 2015 12:52 PM - daniel871: Or is it a long drawn out process?
Aug 21, 2015 12:52 PM - Mike Glass: at 10% how long is that gonna take bill?
Aug 21, 2015 12:52 PM - daniel871: I see some letter shapes/tools, but I'm missing the step to select the surface they go onto.
Aug 21, 2015 12:52 PM - Mike Glass: its easy
Aug 21, 2015 12:53 PM - Mike Glass: import into sw
Aug 21, 2015 12:53 PM - Harry: if 10% looks like too much infill with some of the bigger parts you can decrease it a little
    Aug 21, 2015 12:53 PM - daniel871: If you don't have Premium, that doesn't work.
Aug 21, 2015 12:53 PM - Harry: i'll make sure to tell people that
    Aug 21, 2015 12:54 PM - jbigler1986: text is there
Aug 21, 2015 12:54 PM - Bill Monroe: 10 should be ok.. bridging at the top might be a problem for some
Aug 21, 2015 12:54 PM - jbigler1986: you just create the text then move it onto the other part
Aug 21, 2015 12:55 PM - jbigler1986: the move it however many mm into the part to embose it
Aug 21, 2015 12:55 PM - daniel871: I'd rather have it cut into the surface.
Aug 21, 2015 12:56 PM - Harry: yea cut into the suface is what we need
Aug 21, 2015 12:56 PM - Harry: unless you're positive the side youre doing it on is an external side
Aug 21, 2015 12:56 PM - jbigler1986: sorry. make the text a hole instead of solid then do the same steps
Aug 21, 2015 12:57 PM - jbigler1986: it will cut it into the object
    Aug 21, 2015 12:57 PM - daniel871: Ah, Color vs. Hole.
Aug 21, 2015 12:57 PM - daniel871: Weird way of labeling the extrusion.
    Aug 21, 2015 12:57 PM - jbigler1986: agreed
Aug 21, 2015 12:58 PM - jbigler1986: you can undo any changes you make too
Aug 21, 2015 12:58 PM - jbigler1986: after you do it you need to group the parts together
Aug 21, 2015 12:59 PM - daniel871: There ought to be a way to drop a baseline and then type the text and have it cut a certain depth.
    Aug 21, 2015 1:00 PM - jbigler1986: there are gridlines
Aug 21, 2015 1:00 PM - jbigler1986: I always change the grid smaller as well
Aug 21, 2015 1:00 PM - jbigler1986: or else it will only move stuff 1mm at a time
    Aug 21, 2015 1:01 PM - jbigler1986: i change it to .1
    Aug 21, 2015 1:11 PM - daniel871: Like this? [IMG]
Aug 21, 2015 1:11 PM - Mike Kelly: looks like that makerfarm heater will work
    Aug 21, 2015 1:12 PM - Mike Kelly: barely, like 1.7mm
Aug 21, 2015 1:12 PM - Mike Kelly: confirmed about advanced calling, thanks harry
    Aug 21, 2015 1:13 PM - jbigler1986: lmao. nice
Aug 21, 2015 1:13 PM - Mike Kelly: i have like terrible 1x service here so making calls at home was awful
Aug 21, 2015 1:13 PM - Harry: no problem mike
Aug 21, 2015 1:13 PM - Harry: it was enabled for you?
Aug 21, 2015 1:13 PM - jbigler1986: once you get tinkercad figured out its actually pretty nice for stuff like that
Aug 21, 2015 1:14 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah i clicked the link on that thing, not sure if it was already enabled or clicking that link enabled it
    Aug 21, 2015 1:14 PM - Harry: oh haha
Aug 21, 2015 1:22 PM - jbigler1986: almost posted on the forum. woops
Aug 21, 2015 1:22 PM - Harry: why arent you posting?
Aug 21, 2015 1:23 PM - jbigler1986: cut myself off for the time being
    Aug 21, 2015 1:23 PM - Harry: why?
Aug 21, 2015 1:24 PM - jbigler1986: little of this and a little of that. a little salt and a little pepper
    Aug 21, 2015 1:24 PM - Harry: haha
Aug 21, 2015 1:25 PM - daniel871: Frustration over not being able to print on your own Robo?
    Aug 21, 2015 1:26 PM - jbigler1986: nope
    Aug 21, 2015 1:26 PM - daniel871: Newbie fatique?
    Aug 21, 2015 1:26 PM - jbigler1986: but that is frustrating
Aug 21, 2015 1:27 PM - jbigler1986: not newbie fatigue either. don't mind helping the new people at all
Aug 21, 2015 1:27 PM - daniel871: "Did you double-check that the X-axis was parallel to the bed?" "No, I only installed Cura and now it won't print right and that's the only thing I changed"
Aug 21, 2015 1:28 PM - daniel871: I only get aggravated when you give them a video guide for double checking something and they refuse to even think about watching it.
Aug 21, 2015 1:28 PM - daniel871: Or some similar step by step thing.
Aug 21, 2015 1:28 PM - daniel871: That happens more on FB than here though.
Aug 21, 2015 1:32 PM - daniel871: Someone should put the DEEZ NUTS campain sticker in one of the Robby parts.

    Aug 21, 2015 1:39 PM - Bill Monroe: nothing.. it's a trick question
    Aug 21, 2015 1:40 PM - jbigler1986: it is not
Aug 21, 2015 1:40 PM - jbigler1986: let me know when you give up
Aug 21, 2015 1:40 PM - Bill Monroe: that ship sailed
    Aug 21, 2015 1:41 PM - jbigler1986: hint: it's on the gateway one

Aug 21, 2015 3:40 PM - Mike Kelly: right lemme figure the rest out
Aug 21, 2015 3:41 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm reusing the Z axis from my robo3d after swapping in the lead screws
Aug 21, 2015 3:41 PM - PeterkSharma: Ive been meaning to ask, how does the lead screw affect the z axis?
Aug 21, 2015 3:41 PM - Mike Kelly: MG made a nice spreadsheet and he spent around 400-450
Aug 21, 2015 3:41 PM - PeterkSharma: could it make z less stable at larger heights
    Aug 21, 2015 3:42 PM - PeterkSharma: in plastic?
    Aug 21, 2015 3:42 PM - Mike Kelly: nope it's awesome

Aug 21, 2015 4:07 PM - Mike Kelly: could you do me a favor and snap a picture of how it goes into the grating?
Aug 21, 2015 4:07 PM - Kevin Nguyen: had to do it sorry
Aug 21, 2015 4:07 PM - Mike Kelly: smooth rods? i'd use light machine oil or sewing machine oil
    Aug 21, 2015 4:07 PM - Mike Kelly: 3-in-1 is probably fine
    Aug 21, 2015 4:10 PM - jbigler1986: I use triflow

Aug 21, 2015 4:23 PM - Mike Glass: it got yanked out when I put the lcd in
Aug 21, 2015 4:24 PM - Mike Glass: the heater cable, look the same as you posted
Aug 21, 2015 4:25 PM - Mike Glass: wish they would just put in a usb port, instead of the stupid micro card reader
Aug 21, 2015 4:26 PM - PeterkSharma: You dont have both
    Aug 21, 2015 4:26 PM - PeterkSharma: ?

Aug 21, 2015 4:31 PM - PeterkSharma: time to sharpie it hahaha
Aug 21, 2015 4:33 PM - Mike Glass: I wouldnt waste t-glase with a sharpie, use cheap stuff justpla clear for $15
Aug 21, 2015 4:33 PM - PeterkSharma: did you tell me to sharpie it to get color
Aug 21, 2015 4:34 PM - PeterkSharma: im just doing small 10gram test prints. trying to figure out how to print with it

Aug 21, 2015 4:37 PM - PeterkSharma: this stuff isnt to pricy
Aug 21, 2015 4:38 PM - PeterkSharma: the only pricey one i got to try was porolay
Aug 21, 2015 4:38 PM - Mike Glass: nylon always fails, due to the size difference, V6 they say will work.
Aug 21, 2015 4:38 PM - Mike Kelly: that would be plastic
Aug 21, 2015 4:38 PM - Mike Glass: oh then no.

Aug 21, 2015 4:39 PM - Mike Kelly: v6 has a 2mm bore, a bit more accepting of off spec filaments
    Aug 21, 2015 4:39 PM - PeterkSharma: I have had great luck with v6
Aug 21, 2015 4:39 PM - Mike Glass: need to thicken the walls maybe then it would be ok.
    Aug 21, 2015 4:39 PM - Mike Glass: I have a hex so...
Aug 21, 2015 4:39 PM - PeterkSharma: my octo-whatever hotend did pretty decent as well too
Aug 21, 2015 4:39 PM - Mike Glass: remember im poor
    Aug 21, 2015 4:40 PM - PeterkSharma: I have some extra ptfe
    Aug 21, 2015 4:40 PM - PeterkSharma: for a 1.75mm
Aug 21, 2015 4:40 PM - Mike Kelly: i dunno if that's the case, just not wanting to spend money on your printer :)
    Aug 21, 2015 4:40 PM - PeterkSharma: lol
    Aug 21, 2015 4:40 PM - PeterkSharma: prob ^^
Aug 21, 2015 4:40 PM - Mike Glass: I rather spend on cnc machines.
    Aug 21, 2015 4:41 PM - PeterkSharma: i really want a cnc
Aug 21, 2015 4:41 PM - Mike Glass: although my printer is knocking out some great prints
Aug 21, 2015 4:41 PM - Mike Glass: 40 out of 85 pieces so far
Aug 21, 2015 4:41 PM - Mike Glass: for the chair
Aug 21, 2015 4:41 PM - PeterkSharma: I work right now at the FAA and one of the guys that works for boeing here is telling me just put a printer in the back of your car and drive up
Aug 21, 2015 4:41 PM - Mike Kelly: did we ever calculate how much that things gonna cost/
Aug 21, 2015 4:42 PM - PeterkSharma: they cant find enough people to print random shit they are working on
    Aug 21, 2015 4:42 PM - Mike Kelly: haha
    Aug 21, 2015 4:42 PM - Mike Glass: yea around $100
Aug 21, 2015 4:42 PM - Mike Kelly: that would be a hilarious business venture
Aug 21, 2015 4:42 PM - Mike Kelly: like food trucks
    Aug 21, 2015 4:42 PM - Mike Kelly: but 3d printed parts
Aug 21, 2015 4:42 PM - PeterkSharma: yeah I'm thinking of trying it
Aug 21, 2015 4:42 PM - PeterkSharma: once i can print circuit boards
Aug 21, 2015 4:43 PM - Mike Kelly: mg which part do you think needs thickening
Aug 21, 2015 4:43 PM - PeterkSharma: lots of random brackets and parts and crap people need
Aug 21, 2015 4:43 PM - Mike Glass: can you send me the stl
Aug 21, 2015 4:43 PM - Mike Glass: let me run analysis or did you already
Aug 21, 2015 4:43 PM - Mike Kelly: i can send you the solidworks if you want
Aug 21, 2015 4:44 PM - PeterkSharma: MK are you talkijg about the braket you posted?
Aug 21, 2015 4:44 PM - Mike Glass: either one
    Aug 21, 2015 4:44 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah
Aug 21, 2015 4:45 PM - PeterkSharma: you could add a clip in the center
Aug 21, 2015 4:45 PM - PeterkSharma: that glues to the robo and the acrylic
Aug 21, 2015 4:46 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm trying to avoid anything permanent on the robo enclosure
    Aug 21, 2015 4:46 PM - PeterkSharma: ahhh
Aug 21, 2015 4:46 PM - Mike Kelly: in case someone might be opposed to glueing or drilling to their lid
Aug 21, 2015 4:46 PM - Mike Glass: I think I may build this next [IMG]
Aug 21, 2015 4:46 PM - Mike Glass: cut it out on the cnc
    Aug 21, 2015 4:46 PM - Mike Kelly: yup
Aug 21, 2015 4:46 PM - Mike Kelly: use the cnc to make more cnc's
Aug 21, 2015 4:46 PM - Mike Kelly: btw i sent you the files on skype
Aug 21, 2015 4:46 PM - Mike Glass: yes you did
Aug 21, 2015 4:47 PM - PeterkSharma: have you seen the tiny laser engraver?
    Aug 21, 2015 4:47 PM - PeterkSharma: i uses a blueray laser
Aug 21, 2015 4:47 PM - PeterkSharma: its like a pocket sized cnc
Aug 21, 2015 4:47 PM - Mike Glass: yea I have the parts for it other then a variable resistor and a heat sink
Aug 21, 2015 4:48 PM - PeterkSharma: what sized for variable resistor
Aug 21, 2015 4:48 PM - PeterkSharma: and heat sink
Aug 21, 2015 4:48 PM - PeterkSharma: I just pulled about 30 out of some electronics i was recycling
    Aug 21, 2015 4:49 PM - PeterkSharma: I have a 1M ohm in my hand right now
    Aug 21, 2015 4:49 PM - PeterkSharma: might be a little muc
    Aug 21, 2015 4:50 PM - Mike Glass: hmm I think 100K ohm
Aug 21, 2015 4:51 PM - Mike Glass: the heatsink fits the diode, you need on the of those to keep it from overheating
Aug 21, 2015 4:52 PM - Mike Glass: [IMG] there is the weak spot.
Aug 21, 2015 4:53 PM - PeterkSharma: Oh you need one for the laser? I only have flat ones for transistors
    Aug 21, 2015 4:56 PM - Mike Glass: flat?
    Aug 21, 2015 4:58 PM - PeterkSharma: for a tranisistor or a mosfet
    Aug 21, 2015 4:58 PM - PeterkSharma: I have a 5W laster and the headsink is round
Aug 21, 2015 4:58 PM - PeterkSharma: not like a flat sheet of metal
Aug 21, 2015 4:58 PM - PeterkSharma: you could CNC your heatsink :p
Aug 21, 2015 4:58 PM - PeterkSharma: I have a few extra 100k pots lying around if you want one
Aug 21, 2015 4:59 PM - PeterkSharma: WTF. every one of my prints gets messed up, but if i print support brim or raft those are ok then only the print will mess up
Aug 21, 2015 5:00 PM - Mike Glass: not sticking to the bed?
Aug 21, 2015 5:01 PM - Mike Glass: I use tape now, never had an issue before but must of got a bad can of hairspray as nothing will stick to the glass anymore.
Aug 21, 2015 5:02 PM - Mike Glass: that or I just print to fast, but with tape I can have the first layer done in nothing flat with frog tape.
Aug 21, 2015 5:02 PM - PeterkSharma: whole brim or raft prints fine
Aug 21, 2015 5:03 PM - PeterkSharma: then the first layer on the raft will messs up
Aug 21, 2015 5:04 PM - Mike Glass: what slicer do you use?
Aug 21, 2015 5:04 PM - PeterkSharma: cura on my mac
    Aug 21, 2015 5:05 PM - PeterkSharma: I have s3d on my pc
Aug 21, 2015 5:08 PM - PeterkSharma: ohhhh mannnn this print is looking sex
    Aug 21, 2015 5:08 PM - PeterkSharma: sexy
    Aug 21, 2015 7:40 PM - Blake Benefield: [IMG]
Aug 21, 2015 7:40 PM - Blake Benefield: Added lights to the Hiccup
    Aug 21, 2015 7:41 PM - jbigler1986: Nice
    Aug 21, 2015 7:43 PM - jbigler1986: Looks good
Aug 21, 2015 7:55 PM - Blake Benefield: $6 and gives it plenty of light
Aug 21, 2015 7:57 PM - Mike Glass: I could of gave ya my old robo blue lights..lol

    Aug 22, 2015 at 5:36 AM - TxKent: Hope it's not self-porn! :p
Aug 22, 2015 at 5:38 AM - TxKent: Whatcha making?
Aug 22, 2015 at 5:41 AM - TxKent: I need to replace my front Y axis support and thinking about tackling installing the E3D today. That's if the honey-do's don't pile up too much.
Aug 22, 2015 at 5:42 AM - TxKent: Your printer seems to print right in the middle - mine always seems shifted to the rear of the Y axis a bit.
Aug 22, 2015 at 5:52 AM - Bill Monroe: parts for thge robbie contest
Aug 22, 2015 at 5:53 AM - Bill Monroe: Where in TX?

Aug 22, 2015 at 7:26 AM - donhuevo: same here. swapped out the motherboard last night. went better than expected
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:26 AM - Bill Monroe: ick.. i dont work on boxes anymore
    Aug 22, 2015 at 7:26 AM - donhuevo: wasn't by choice
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:27 AM - donhuevo: or it was a lesser of two evils choice
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:28 AM - Bill Monroe: I put mine together 5 years ago.. havnt looked inside since
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:29 AM - donhuevo: not even for hunting dust bunnies?
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:29 AM - Bill Monroe: got interns for that :)
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:29 AM - donhuevo: effin minions. I need to get some
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:30 AM - Bill Monroe: and now, a US Army trained Computer Geek son....
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:32 AM - donhuevo: I didn't even bother building mine initially. found it on ebay and the specs were right
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:32 AM - Bill Monroe: nice
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:32 AM - Bill Monroe: I wanted 6 monitors so, had to get creative
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:32 AM - donhuevo: and the money was more right given the specs
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:33 AM - donhuevo: had to replace both the motherboard and power supply though because the factory power supply was completely non standard
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:34 AM - donhuevo: and lastly, had to order a couple extensions for forward facing usb ports
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:35 AM - Bill Monroe: I love how 1800FLOWERS keep sending emails with deals even the day after you book an order
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:35 AM - Mike Glass: I hate that company, spammers.
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:35 AM - Mike Glass: Morning
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:35 AM - Bill Monroe: i use an external isolated hub for USB, after I had a USB device take out my motherboard
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:35 AM - Bill Monroe: MG
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:36 AM - Mike Glass: Hey bill
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:36 AM - Bill Monroe: well, proflowers' delivery service hit the shitter so now its 1800
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:37 AM - Mike Glass: what did you use to stamp that robbie part with your name
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:37 AM - Bill Monroe: Solidworks
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:38 AM - Bill Monroe: had to change it though, forgot about the overhang.. about to restart
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:39 AM - Mike Glass: where is the overhang, im not seeing it, or is it on the backside?
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:40 AM - Mike Glass: no cooling fan?
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:46 AM - Bill Monroe: sorry.. the overhang was on the letters.. and I only run 1 fan
    Aug 22, 2015 at 7:47 AM - Bill Monroe: I changed the letters so there's a 50 degree angle..
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:48 AM - Mike Glass: https://bozeman.craigslist.org/tls/5183087117.html do you think this is worth 5K
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:50 AM - Bill Monroe: depends on the bed condition but ya, it's probably worth it
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:51 AM - Bill Monroe: did a pretty good job cleaning it too.. if the encoders are on the table, it's VERY worth it
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:52 AM - Mike Glass: what are the encoders?
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:54 AM - Bill Monroe: this machine has servos instead of steppers.. the encoders tell the controller how far the device has moved
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:54 AM - Bill Monroe: if they're on the back of the motor (which is common) then they're no more accurate than a stepper
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:55 AM - Bill Monroe: but if they're attached to the table, they'll make sure the table has moved the right amount..
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:56 AM - Bill Monroe: there are controllers that drive steppers with encoder feedback too.. but they're not real common in the US
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:56 AM - Bill Monroe: they're the shit.. steppers have much better low-end torque than servo motors of equal voltage..
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:58 AM - Bill Monroe: my TREE mill has 2 horse servo motors with glass-scale encoders on the table.. it's accuracy is unholy
    Aug 22, 2015 at 7:58 AM - Bill Monroe: 80VDC
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:00 AM - Bill Monroe: posting doesnt mention table travel.. looks kinda small
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:01 AM - Mike Glass: yea thats what i was wondering how far the travel is
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:02 AM - Bill Monroe: if it was on the best coast, I'd go look at it.
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:03 AM - John Randall: Anyone using the sd card option?
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:03 AM - Mike Glass: yep
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:04 AM - John Randall: Can you point me to directions on how to use it?
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:04 AM - Mike Glass: the stock sd card
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:05 AM - John Randall: yes
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:05 AM - Mike Glass: what slicer do you use.
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:06 AM - Bill Monroe: isnt that almost in your back yard?
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:06 AM - John Randall: matter
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:06 AM - Mike Glass: yep 90 min away
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:06 AM - Bill Monroe: go!
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:07 AM - Bill Monroe: brb gotta get some coffee going for 2.0
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:07 AM - Mike Glass: it is obo, was thinking offering 3500
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:07 AM - Bill Monroe: If you dont go look at it, I will lose all respect for ya
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:07 AM - Mike Glass: lol
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:07 AM - Bill Monroe: try, but the Tormach is 3 times as much without all the tooling so..
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:08 AM - Bill Monroe: 5K is a very good price
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:08 AM - Mike Glass: yea, im sure it is
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:09 AM - Mike Glass: John take the sd card and put it in your laptop or sd reader and save the gcode to it, place it back into the robo, in matter you can start sd card print.
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:10 AM - John Randall: Can I then disconnect the computer with out disrupting the print?
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:11 AM - Mike Glass: yes
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:11 AM - John Randall: Thank you!!!!!
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:12 AM - Mike Glass: its much easier with a lcd screen attached, you might look at that option down the road
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:12 AM - Mike Glass: you can pick them up for around $25
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:13 AM - John Randall: OK, I have one to install & will now go ahead & do it. Thanks again!
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:15 AM - Mike Glass: Your welcome
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:16 AM - Bill Monroe: back
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:18 AM - donhuevo: weird... changing the motherboard made me have to change the baud rate on the 3d printer
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:19 AM - Mike Glass: newer board faster?
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:19 AM - donhuevo: no. it was a step down in a few areas
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:20 AM - donhuevo: but the problem that made me need to change is gone so I can be thankful for that
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:20 AM - Mike Glass: I meant faster usb port
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:21 AM - donhuevo: ah... couldn't say. it was in a 2.0 before and is in one now. but I had to bump the baud from 115k to 250k
    Aug 22, 2015 at 8:23 AM - jbigler1986: I was always at 250k
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:25 AM - jbigler1986: Frontier airlines you can get flights for 50% off if you use promo code DEEZNUTS
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:28 AM - Mike Glass: is your board usb 3.0 jb
    Aug 22, 2015 at 8:32 AM - jbigler1986: It has 3.0
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:33 AM - jbigler1986: Dont remeber if i was using 3.0 board for the robo or not
    Aug 22, 2015 at 8:33 AM - jbigler1986: 3.0 port*

Aug 22, 2015 at 8:55 AM - Mike Glass: hey don did you see squinty on thingiverse I posted.
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:03 AM - PeterkSharma: how much does replacing the lead screw help?
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:04 AM - PeterkSharma: and has anyone looked into/whats the point of using the smoothie board instead of ramps?
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:12 AM - donhuevo: a few minor problems but solvable
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:13 AM - jbigler1986: New lead screws removes all ribbing
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:13 AM - donhuevo: I had to order usb3.0 and usb2.0 motherboard extension cables
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:14 AM - jbigler1986: A noticable difference right away
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:14 AM - donhuevo: smoothie is much better at round math
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:14 AM - jbigler1986: Ahhh. Not a huge deal
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:15 AM - donhuevo: the mega is basically full at this point & the smoothie is basically empty. lots of room to grow
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:15 AM - PeterkSharma: gotcha so if i wanted to add 4 filament extruder
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:15 AM - PeterkSharma: need to do the swap
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:16 AM - donhuevo: at least consider it
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:16 AM - donhuevo: although neither has room for the 2 extra stepper drivers
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:16 AM - donhuevo: not sure how that works
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:17 AM - PeterkSharma: I think my z calibration is off. after about the first cm of my printer it almost seems like z is not moving up enough and it starts to drag through the prints and mess it up
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:17 AM - PeterkSharma: Any thoughts
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:19 AM - donhuevo: I'd check this first...
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:21 AM - jbigler1986: Ramps fan working?
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:21 AM - PeterkSharma: ya, but I need to do the upgrade. uve just been running it with the bottom off it
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:22 AM - donhuevo: I always forget to consider skipping steps
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:25 AM - PeterkSharma: don, looks solid, will test this first
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:25 AM - PeterkSharma: ty
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:27 AM - donhuevo: yep
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:27 AM - donhuevo: what is this white material the bondtech is printed with?
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:27 AM - Mike Glass: plastic
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:28 AM - donhuevo: dick
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:28 AM - donhuevo: thanks for that
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:28 AM - Mike Glass: did I lie
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:28 AM - donhuevo: you did not
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:29 AM - PeterkSharma: thinking of making one?
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:29 AM - PeterkSharma: MG, can you make hobbled bolts on your cnc?
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:29 AM - donhuevo: no I bought one but I'd love to get my hands on whatever it's made out of
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:30 AM - Mike Glass: hmm not sure never tried
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:30 AM - PeterkSharma: If i rememeber its an SLS print
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:30 AM - PeterkSharma: how do you like it
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:31 AM - PeterkSharma: MG, we should try to make one with the teeth to try and make a bondtech
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:31 AM - donhuevo: it just arrived. haven't installed it yet
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:31 AM - PeterkSharma: Tom looks so angry in this video. Check it out and tell me he doesn't look like he has just murdered someone
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:31 AM - PeterkSharma:
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:32 AM - Mike Glass: think I would need a 4th axis to do that
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:33 AM - PeterkSharma: yeah that might be a tricky one
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:49 AM - jbigler1986: Well you can get the hobb from printrbot that is very similar to the bondtech
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:49 AM - jbigler1986: For 20 bucks
    Aug 22, 2015 at 9:51 AM - jbigler1986: http://printrbot.com/shop/gear-head-extruder-v0-01/
Aug 22, 2015 at 9:57 AM - jbigler1986: After reading commenta on the yoymagine page is sounds like there arent enough teeth to grip the filament very well. Which i can see from the pictures
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:52 AM - Bill Monroe: I'm never gong to use anything but Hatchnox from now on
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:53 AM - Bill Monroe: err Hatchbox
    Aug 22, 2015 at 10:54 AM - donhuevo: I'm a fan
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:54 AM - donhuevo: I'm even having decent luck with the abs roll I bought accidentally

    Aug 22, 2015 at 12:10 PM - donhuevo: dunno
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:11 PM - donhuevo: biggest hurdle is making sure you have the firmware that's right for your printer before you upload it
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:12 PM - JeffTheMess: yeah I "think" i have the right one
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:15 PM - Bill Monroe: I dont believe you need to change firmware if all you're doing is changing the hot section
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:16 PM - JeffTheMess: i have the stud thermistor,I think i read that it doesnt make a difference if you do
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:16 PM - Bill Monroe: ah.. Jeff decided to get a stud
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:16 PM - Bill Monroe: ...not that there's anything wrong with that...
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:17 PM - JeffTheMess: yeah, that tiny thermistor wasnt for me
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:18 PM - Bill Monroe: I've been using he teeny one since I got the V6 in January

Aug 22, 2015 at 12:22 PM - Bill Monroe: "Engage the Parts Fan"
    Aug 22, 2015 at 12:23 PM - Bill Monroe: "I'm a doctor not a fan boy!"
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:23 PM - JeffTheMess: yeah did that and nothing
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:24 PM - Bill Monroe: I had trouble with it.. that's when I discovered anthing sold by geeethch is crapola

Aug 22, 2015 at 12:35 PM - JeffTheMess: if theres no firmware changes, i think im ready
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:35 PM - jbigler1986: You mean if i plug a fan in backwards it wont run in reverse?
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:35 PM - JeffTheMess: well just the parts fan print
    Aug 22, 2015 at 12:35 PM - jbigler1986: Thats unacceptable
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:36 PM - donhuevo: any fan on a dc system
    Aug 22, 2015 at 12:37 PM - jbigler1986: I was kidding
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:37 PM - JeffTheMess: do i still need the oiler?

Aug 22, 2015 at 12:38 PM - JeffTheMess: oh thats great, it makes my print ugly and messy
    Aug 22, 2015 at 12:38 PM - Bill Monroe: ^^
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:43 PM - JeffTheMess: so nothing else to change? anything in s3d or firmware anywhere?
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:44 PM - Bill Monroe: try it.. tweak as required
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:44 PM - Bill Monroe: PLA?
    Aug 22, 2015 at 12:44 PM - JeffTheMess: yeah
    Aug 22, 2015 at 12:44 PM - Bill Monroe: 200/50
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:45 PM - JeffTheMess: pla until i fully master it then ill move to the stinky abs
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:45 PM - Bill Monroe: abs on a robo is like owning a jag.. it'll break your heart at regular intervals
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:46 PM - Bill Monroe: there'll always been the guy that says he never has any trouble...
    Aug 22, 2015 at 12:46 PM - JeffTheMess: soooo....xt? lol
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:47 PM - Bill Monroe: xt is doable, I use it all the time, but it takes a bit more attention to dial-in and judicious use of creative skirts
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:47 PM - JeffTheMess: ill asks the expert MG lol
    Aug 22, 2015 at 12:47 PM - Bill Monroe: <hi5>
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:48 PM - Bill Monroe: i have another machine designed from the beginning for ABS.. it rocks it.. but you cant make a robo do it like it can..
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:49 PM - JeffTheMess: sure you can just throw another 500 in upgrades :)
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:50 PM - Bill Monroe: even then I dunno.. the elevated temp kill the "plastic fantastic" robo
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:51 PM - JeffTheMess: whats the lifespan of the robo? without doing constant upgrades?
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:51 PM - Bill Monroe: depends on one's frustration level :)
Aug 22, 2015 at 12:51 PM - Bill Monroe: i know one that only lasted a week
    Aug 22, 2015 at 2:10 PM - jbigler1986: Screw abs
Aug 22, 2015 at 2:12 PM - PeterkSharma: whtas going on it with

Aug 22, 2015 at 3:28 PM - PeterkSharma: Anyone have any ideas whats going wrong with my prints. It doesnt matter what material I use or print speed. ITs always so goopy
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:34 PM - Bill Monroe: try it in PLA
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:38 PM - PeterkSharma: it does the sae in pla

Aug 22, 2015 at 3:39 PM - Bill Monroe: for PLA.. what temps?
    Aug 22, 2015 at 3:44 PM - PeterkSharma: Pla at 205,210,215 and 220
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:44 PM - Bill Monroe: brand?
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:44 PM - PeterkSharma: I have tried print seeds from 30mm/s-120 every 20 mm/s for each temp too
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:45 PM - PeterkSharma: Umm hatchbox, robo blue and some off name as well

Aug 22, 2015 at 3:46 PM - PeterkSharma: Usually the first cm comes out looking fantastic and always around that height (1cm) it starts missing a layer or sor getting goopy
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:47 PM - PeterkSharma: Rgr will try. I was talking to MG about jerk and acceleration. What settings are you using for that?
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:48 PM - Bill Monroe: hmmm let me look
    Aug 22, 2015 at 3:50 PM - Bill Monroe: accel 800 800 100 1000
    Aug 22, 2015 at 3:50 PM - Bill Monroe: default accel 500
    Aug 22, 2015 at 3:52 PM - Bill Monroe: XYJERK 17.0 ZJERK 0.4 EJERK 5.0
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:52 PM - PeterkSharma: Rgr. Ty.
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:53 PM - PeterkSharma: Bill do you have any experience with exotic filaments?
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:53 PM - PeterkSharma: Or fillastruder?
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:54 PM - Bill Monroe: i do but not on the robo
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:55 PM - PeterkSharma: Is your robo modded much?
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:55 PM - Bill Monroe: no.. 3 things is all anything else returns little
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:55 PM - Bill Monroe: XXL panel, E3DV6, acme Z scews
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:56 PM - PeterkSharma: Lead screw?
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:56 PM - Bill Monroe: and careful massaging of the firmware.
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:56 PM - Bill Monroe: I tossed the 8mm all thread and use T8-8 acme screws
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:57 PM - Bill Monroe: i trammed my machine and deleted "auto level"
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:57 PM - PeterkSharma: Sorry don't know a lot of about it, what was the point of going to t8-8? And what was wrong with auto leveling?
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:58 PM - Bill Monroe: the acme screws run true and straight.. much better results.
    Aug 22, 2015 at 3:59 PM - Bill Monroe: auto-level isnt leveling anything.. it's a failed effort.
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:59 PM - PeterkSharma: Will check it out. Can you link me or do I just search t8-8 on Amazon?
Aug 22, 2015 at 3:59 PM - Bill Monroe: the best solution is to make the machine square and level mechanically. one should never use software to fix a hardware problem
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:00 PM - Bill Monroe: robo is now selling an upgrade kit to do the same thing I did... look for it
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:00 PM - PeterkSharma: Ah gotcha that's the leads crew kot that they are selling?
    Aug 22, 2015 at 4:00 PM - Bill Monroe: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/bills-lab
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:01 PM - Bill Monroe: $100 or there abouts I think
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:02 PM - PeterkSharma: K, I have it linked up on my laptop. Where did you learn all about this stuff man? That you for taking the time to answer all these questions. Really makes printing approachable.
    Aug 22, 2015 at 4:02 PM - jbigler1986: It was like $97 for 2 from amazon
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:03 PM - jbigler1986: Let me get the link
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:03 PM - Bill Monroe: ya but the robo units have instructions and minimize having to make new parts.. for a newbie its a better solution
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:04 PM - PeterkSharma: Yeah it's only 3 bucks more for the almost plug and play robo kit
    Aug 22, 2015 at 4:04 PM - jbigler1986: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00JT...lead+screw&dpPl=1&dpID=41YSz9nfK-L&ref=plSrch
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:04 PM - jbigler1986: Yeah robo solution is easier for new people
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:05 PM - PeterkSharma: Gotcha yea. I see the difference.
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:05 PM - Bill Monroe: but, of course, they dont have any yet, and hve pushed the date out once already
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:05 PM - jbigler1986: Who knows when robo will actually ship them
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:06 PM - Bill Monroe: in the mean time, I'm making perfect parts
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:06 PM - jbigler1986: R2 was supposed to be out earlier this year i believe. Wont even be out this year
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:06 PM - Bill Monroe: welcome to the crowd funded world
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:06 PM - PeterkSharma: Food grades machine oil should be ok for robo rods yea?
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:07 PM - jbigler1986: I dont have faith in robo anymore honestly.
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:07 PM - Bill Monroe: 3 in one works fine
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:07 PM - Bill Monroe: transmissions fluid.. MIL-H-5606... elephant spit...
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:07 PM - PeterkSharma: I just have stuff lying around I use to lube meat slicers
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:09 PM - PeterkSharma: Bearing hold up fine on robo?
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:09 PM - Bill Monroe: havnt had one fail yet.. but I pretreat them in a most anal way
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:12 PM - PeterkSharma: Is that link for the lead screw that you used bill? There is a lot of negative reviews
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:13 PM - Bill Monroe: I used the same screws as jb
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:13 PM - Bill Monroe: I believe the negs come from people who get their knowledge from youtube video
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:14 PM - Bill Monroe: despite what SO many makers think, you cant learn this shit from other makers making videos
    Aug 22, 2015 at 4:15 PM - PeterkSharma: Hahaha
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:15 PM - PeterkSharma: I learn by constantly fucking something up and needing to fix it
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:15 PM - Bill Monroe: jb.. he's an exception.. that boy oozes logical talent, patience, and unconventional thnking
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:17 PM - PeterkSharma: How did you learn?
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:17 PM - Bill Monroe: :) I was making automated machines before computers existed :)
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:17 PM - PeterkSharma: Lol, I was into radio so I want to learn how to make radio parts
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:18 PM - Bill Monroe: ok, speaking of automated machines.. gotta get back to work or 2.0 is going to put more clothes on :)
Aug 22, 2015 at 4:18 PM - Bill Monroe: back later

Aug 22, 2015 at 6:52 PM - PeterkSharma: Nice, is that just a new z rod?
Aug 22, 2015 at 6:55 PM - Mike Glass: ah they are acme screws he attached to the stock motors, still using the HC's
Aug 22, 2015 at 6:56 PM - Mike Glass: Basically what Mike K uses on his kickstarter.
    Aug 22, 2015 at 7:13 PM - PeterkSharma: Mike k has a kickstarts?
    Aug 22, 2015 at 7:14 PM - PeterkSharma: Have a link?
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:19 PM - Mike Glass: yep he has a newer on also. not sure where he got the acme screws, better off ordering the robo replacements lead screws. unless your going to build a bigger robo.
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:22 PM - PeterkSharma: I think I'm going to order the lead screw off Amazon because the robo one keeps getting postponed
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:23 PM - PeterkSharma: If swap for large lead screw I can just change z height correct?
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:43 PM - Mike Glass: I wouldnt do that, its a PITA
    Aug 22, 2015 at 7:51 PM - PeterkSharma: Pita?
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:55 PM - Mike Glass: Pain in the ass
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:55 PM - Mike Glass: you have tear the new steppers apart and your robo steppers apart and swap the guts out.
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:56 PM - PeterkSharma: Oh dang sounds like a lot of work. Hahaha
Aug 22, 2015 at 7:56 PM - PeterkSharma: Easier to make a dlp printer
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:03 PM - PeterkSharma: Is pita like copper windings and magnets?
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:17 PM - Mike Glass: yea and bearings, 4 people have dont it so far, but one of them blew up their ramps.
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:37 PM - PeterkSharma: Hahahaha, I build those little motors. Ugh now you made me nervous
Aug 22, 2015 at 8:44 PM - Mike Glass: not sure why the wiring would be that much different, but maybe nobody tried to wire it correctly.

Aug 22, 2015 at 9:16 PM - Blake Benefield: Peter. Not sure if you figured it out or not, but Robo started a kickstarter company. Mike K has one of the machines from the kickstarter campaign. He doesn't (to my knowledge) have a kickstarter going himself
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:01 PM - PeterkSharma: Ohhhh hahahaha that makes a lot more sense. Thanks Blake
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:02 PM - PeterkSharma: When I get my new ones in I'll pull apart the guts and take a peek
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:07 PM - PeterkSharma: Yeah just looked at a diagram.... Seems pretty easy for that motor. Just seems like make sure the correct wires are in the correct spitz
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:11 PM - Mike Glass: Hey Harry when is robo shipping the lead screws replacements?
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:12 PM - Harry: Hey Mike, the 25th is the new date they had set
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:13 PM - Harry: Mike, did you figure out the issue with your piece? or still need help/clarification?
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:25 PM - Mike Glass: Nope, I understand its just the curve part that shows, not going to mess with putting anything on it. thanks
Aug 22, 2015 at 10:40 PM - Harry: Want me to do it for you? Email me i'm signing off for the night so will probably miss it if you respond here

Aug 22, 2015 at 11:09 PM - Harry: you can see the gap
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:09 PM - Harry: maybe im tired and seeing things lol

Aug 22, 2015 at 11:18 PM - Mike Glass: just hope it doesnt fail
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:19 PM - Harry: how long is it saying?
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:19 PM - Harry: its hard- a lot of these pieces need to be pretty dam big
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:19 PM - Harry: since the robot it so big
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:19 PM - Mike Glass: been printing the pubble pieces at 4 hours a piece without troubles, this on is around 8.5
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:19 PM - Harry: and if we did smaller pieces that'd be so many seems and impossible to assemble
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:19 PM - Mike Glass: puzzle pieces damn
    Aug 22, 2015 at 11:19 PM - Harry: haha
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:19 PM - Harry: i have one of those chairs done...but did it before they released an updated version
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:19 PM - Harry: so the locking part for the dowles doesnt work
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:20 PM - Harry: so its just the chair top with no legs lol
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:20 PM - Mike Glass: they are still screwy on this one, with the reverse threads, but you have to print 2 different connectors is all
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:21 PM - Mike Glass: How long did it take you to print
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:21 PM - Harry: awhile...i slacked off and stopped for about a month in th emiddle lol
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:21 PM - Harry: but it took me about a month total of printing time but stopped for about a month in the middle
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:21 PM - Harry: did about two parts a day
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:22 PM - Harry: sometimes only go to one
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:22 PM - Mike Glass: yea, I stopped 5 days ago, for other projects upgrades on the cnc stuff.
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:22 PM - Harry: ah ok
Aug 22, 2015 at 11:22 PM - Harry: alright i need to go get some sleep lol

Aug 23, 2015 at 5:04 AM - Mike Glass: how much filament did your take?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:04 AM - Bill Monroe: uhh hang on
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:05 AM - Bill Monroe: according to S3D, 301g let me weigh it and see
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:06 AM - Bill Monroe: 292.6
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:06 AM - Mike Glass: how many meters

Aug 23, 2015 at 5:07 AM - Mike Glass: mine was around 74
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:07 AM - Mike Glass: so you could almost get 4 parts from a roll
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:07 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, #1 was 80.. looked the same as the image Harry posted for your name location
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:07 AM - Bill Monroe: learned a couple of things though...
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:08 AM - Mike Glass: dont use XT :)
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:09 AM - Bill Monroe: #1, using each time it change to a different process, it left a tell-tale groove on the surface, havnt decided why yet.
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:10 AM - Bill Monroe: #2, S3D's predicted time was correct, the elapsed time indicated by Marlin was WAY off
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:10 AM - Bill Monroe: #3, Hatchbox filament is still the king :)
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:11 AM - Bill Monroe: XT filament works great but it
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:11 AM - Mike Glass: what temp are you using
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:11 AM - Bill Monroe: it's pricey, I reserve it for outdoor applications
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:12 AM - Bill Monroe: for hatchbox - 200/50
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:13 AM - Bill Monroe: I ordered to more rolls of hatchbox yesterday morning.. arrived at 7:00 pm
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:13 AM - Mike Glass: I really like the hatchbox abs
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:13 AM - Bill Monroe: today, we try Orange
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:14 AM - Mike Glass: you going to do 2 robbie pieces a day?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:14 AM - Bill Monroe: naw, just one
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:14 AM - Mike Glass: Till Dec?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:15 AM - Bill Monroe: oh no.. I'll probably max out at 4
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:15 AM - Mike Glass: Im not sure if there is a limit, guess they didnt say that.
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:16 AM - Mike Glass: Yea, I think one roll will do at least 3 so I may stop there
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:16 AM - Bill Monroe: I'm sure there's not.. honestly, I doubt they'll get enough from users to finish it
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:16 AM - Mike Glass: if not im sure their 30 machines they have setup will be.
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:17 AM - Bill Monroe: I think if they're smart, they're allready running some
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:19 AM - jbigler1986: Morning
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:20 AM - Bill Monroe: J-man
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:21 AM - jbigler1986: How are you guys this morning
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:21 AM - Bill Monroe: I'm pooped! but otherwise fantastic.. you?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:21 AM - Mike Glass: hey JB
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:22 AM - Mike Glass: you stayed up to late BM
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:22 AM - Bill Monroe: you can say that again
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:24 AM - Mike Glass: so when it is chaning processes, is the fan shutting off I wonder
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:24 AM - Bill Monroe: took 2.0 dancing down in the gaslamp district
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:24 AM - jbigler1986: Im good. Making a couple drawers today for the work table
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:25 AM - Bill Monroe: Mike, that's a good thought, I'll check it out.. not sure it would cause the artifact I saw but it wont hurt to change it
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:25 AM - jbigler1986: Dancing. Yeah im horrible at thag
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:25 AM - jbigler1986: That*
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:26 AM - Bill Monroe: well I feel like the hippo in a tutu but gads, the woman loves to go and she looks so incredible so....
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:27 AM - Mike Glass: does it look like its delamination on the line it left or just wierd extrusion
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:28 AM - Bill Monroe: it does look like delam, but it's firmly in place.. almost like that one layer is a tiny bit smaller
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:28 AM - Mike Glass: does it pause at all during the proccess change?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:29 AM - Bill Monroe: no
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:29 AM - Mike Glass: wonder if the temp go screwy for a few seconds
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:30 AM - Bill Monroe: hey, I just noticed it shows in S3D too.. it's the slicer that cuased it
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:30 AM - Bill Monroe: or at least, predicted it
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:30 AM - Mike Glass: you see it in the model preview?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:31 AM - Bill Monroe: yup
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:31 AM - jbigler1986: Yeah that happens sometimes
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:31 AM - Bill Monroe: hang on, I'll shoot a pic
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:31 AM - Mike Glass: jb 5 more days dude?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:33 AM - Bill Monroe: [IMG]
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:33 AM - Bill Monroe: I think you might be right about first layer settings
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:33 AM - jbigler1986: I know man. These past 2 weeks have been the longest ever.
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:34 AM - Mike Glass: speed change..awe
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:34 AM - jbigler1986: Its going to be a long week im sure
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:35 AM - Mike Glass: yea I bet, cant wait to get you back to breaking stuff..lol
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:35 AM - jbigler1986: Thats a bonus. More worried about my kids
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:37 AM - Mike Glass: Yea, I hear ya, hope it works out for you.
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:37 AM - jbigler1986: It should. Atleast 50/50. I have so much evidence of stuff its not even funny
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:38 AM - jbigler1986: Around 120 pages of stuff
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:39 AM - Mike Glass: yep, if you kept it documented thats the best thing.
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:39 AM - jbigler1986: MG have you printed any Robbie parts
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:39 AM - Bill Monroe: hmm changed all the first layer-specific settings.. still shows
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:39 AM - Mike Glass: 7 hours into my first one now JB
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:39 AM - jbigler1986: Slice it in cura and see if it still appears
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:39 AM - Bill Monroe: I dont do cura
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:40 AM - Mike Glass: cura doesnt have process changing though
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:40 AM - jbigler1986: Oh yeah. Mattercontrol. I forgot
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:40 AM - Bill Monroe: well, there's a good reason to not use it :)
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:41 AM - jbigler1986: S3d is the only one with process changing isnt it?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:41 AM - Mike Glass: wish I had some lead shot, i wanted to fill this in with some weight..lol
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:41 AM - Bill Monroe: I've only used S3D since Feb.. I think bouncing around slicers and materials is one of the biggest problems people inflict on themselves
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:42 AM - Bill Monroe: got an idea.. hang on
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:42 AM - Mike Glass: yep agreed, although I have to use Repetier for some special vase mode stuff I cannot get to work with S3d
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:42 AM - jbigler1986: Vase mode sucks on s3d
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:43 AM - jbigler1986: It leaves gaps in layers like you showed in the picture Bill
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:43 AM - Bill Monroe: got it!
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:44 AM - Mike Glass: change top layer speed?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:44 AM - Mike Glass: or first layer
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:45 AM - Bill Monroe: no.. so simple It didnt click right away.. had to do with *which* layer it started at
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:45 AM - jbigler1986: He used mattercontrol
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:45 AM - Mike Glass: ?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:46 AM - jbigler1986: I need to grab a pocket hole jig today
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:46 AM - Bill Monroe: like this: first layer.. 0mm to 10.6 mm. i chose next layer to be at 10.8 mm (.2mm higher than last one)...
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:46 AM - Bill Monroe: but when I change to starting section 2 at the same layer as section 1, groove is gone
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:47 AM - Bill Monroe: dont know if that means it's going to try to make two layers at the same height though...
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:49 AM - jbigler1986: What is different in the process?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:49 AM - Mike Glass: hmm
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:49 AM - Mike Glass: infill %
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:49 AM - Bill Monroe: OK, confirmed.. it wont try to do two at the same height
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:50 AM - Bill Monroe: I think this is an S3D bug
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:50 AM - Bill Monroe: with a workaround
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:50 AM - jbigler1986: Doing different infill on it?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:51 AM - Mike Glass: these are all at 10% jb, so he added more for the top of the parts
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:51 AM - Bill Monroe: ya. see... infill at 7& till it get to where it needs to print a horizontal surface, then switch to 25 % so it doesnt have to bridge so far
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:52 AM - Mike Glass: 7%...haha nice
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:52 AM - Bill Monroe: goes much faster that way :)
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:52 AM - Mike Glass: actually could of gone 5% on mine.
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:53 AM - Mike Glass: I had not flat top surface

Aug 23, 2015 at 10:04 AM - Harry: one second
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:04 AM - PeterkSharma: Have you heard of filament crackling out of the nozzle? that is not Nylon or anything excotic. It seems to have an issue when the print it liek crackling.\
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:04 AM - PeterkSharma: I'll see if i can shoot a video of it. It sounds like an ant popping bubble wrap
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:05 AM - Harry: that usually means moisture is in the filament
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:05 AM - Harry: could have gotten in during shipping or something before placed in hatchbox

Aug 23, 2015 at 10:55 AM - PeterkSharma: ah, what printer are you using?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:57 AM - Blake Benefield: Have a Hictop aluminum i3
Aug 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM - PeterkSharma: I'm really thinking of trying to build an SLA or DLP printer
    Aug 23, 2015 at 11:02 AM - Blake Benefield: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00YW...hictop+new&dpPl=1&dpID=41JSC5VHR3L&ref=plSrch
Aug 23, 2015 at 11:03 AM - Blake Benefield: Thats the one

Aug 23, 2015 at 11:04 AM - PeterkSharma: I'm was looking at the Rostock Delta

Aug 23, 2015 at 11:14 AM - PeterkSharma: Test print, haven't tried for Robbie yet.
Aug 23, 2015 at 11:14 AM - Blake Benefield: It prints pretty well actually. Bed needs a cork insulator and it needs a solid lead screw upgrade to fix ribbing
Aug 23, 2015 at 11:14 AM - PeterkSharma: Landlord sold the house I was living in and so it's time to pack up
Aug 23, 2015 at 11:16 AM - PeterkSharma: I'm going to try and get that test print in today but only have 5 days to move out
Aug 23, 2015 at 11:43 AM - Blake Benefield: Ive talked work into buying a robo. If there is still pieces left when it comes in ill request a part

Aug 23, 2015 at 12:45 PM - Mike Glass: hey don
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:02 PM - Mike Glass: whats shaking today
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:03 PM - donhuevo: not much... drawing & printing waiting for it to cool a little outside so's I can cut grass
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:09 PM - donhuevo: what are you shaking?
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:09 PM - Mike Glass: how is the design coming along
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:10 PM - donhuevo: I'm nowhere near the big box yet but picking away at the Igus/Openbuilds robo
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:12 PM - donhuevo: you know the two y pulleys attached to the base?
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:12 PM - Mike Glass: on the robo?
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:12 PM - donhuevo: technically not pulleys but bearings and washers
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:12 PM - donhuevo: robo yes
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:12 PM - Mike Glass: yea
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:13 PM - donhuevo: the two holes thru the base are 9mm
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:13 PM - Mike Glass: on a 8mm bolt?
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:13 PM - donhuevo: I'm working on adapters so I can use these instead... http://openbuildspartstore.com/smooth-idler-pulley-wheel-kit/
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:13 PM - donhuevo: yep
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:14 PM - donhuevo: my Mitutoyo Absolute Digimatic (uncertified) told me they were 9mm
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:15 PM - Mike Glass: those looks nice
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:16 PM - donhuevo: they ride on 5mm bolts. the problem is they'll bend under tension so I'm printing 3 cross beams to go between them
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:17 PM - Mike Glass: man that open beam stuff is cheap, how is the shipping costs on it?
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:17 PM - donhuevo: shipping is reasonable
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:17 PM - donhuevo: the OX cnc is built out of that stuff
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:18 PM - Mike Glass: I can cut that with a miter saw with the right blade correct.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:18 PM - Mike Glass: yea I was gonna build on of those at one time but wanted to see how cheap I could build the MPCNC
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:19 PM - donhuevo: it's extruded aluminum so I'd say you can cut it on a miter saw. You may have a booger or two to clean up after
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:19 PM - Mike Glass: the thing that blew me off about it was the v-groove bearings are expensive
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:20 PM - donhuevo: http://openbuildspartstore.com/wheels-bearings/?sort=bestselling
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:21 PM - donhuevo: I've only bought these but man are they a smooth ride... http://openbuildspartstore.com/delrin-v-wheel-kit/
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:22 PM - Mike Glass: these look good. http://openbuildspartstore.com/c-beam-linear-actuator-bundle/
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:23 PM - donhuevo: they have HfnC's
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:24 PM - Mike Glass: :()
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:25 PM - donhuevo: I'm going to have to put linear steppers on this... [IMG]
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:25 PM - daniel871: Hm. Okay, here is the wrinkle so far for the dual Robo.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:26 PM - daniel871: Nozzle/heater at Tool 0 heats up just fine, Nozzle/heater at Tool 1 will heat up to about 195 just fine, then it never goes higher than 210 no matter what heater cartridge is on it (replaced it with three different ones that all tested fine with the meter).
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:27 PM - donhuevo: tool 1 connected to d9?
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:27 PM - daniel871: The only difference between the cartridges was the wattage on them. One was 30w, one was 40w and the third was the one that came with the hexagon just for shits and giggles.
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:27 PM - daniel871: Yes.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:27 PM - donhuevo: and what motherboard number are you using now?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:28 PM - daniel871: 34.
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:28 PM - daniel871: Was 33
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:28 PM - donhuevo: with the RRD fan extender
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:28 PM - daniel871: But that would have it thinking d9 was the parts fan.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:28 PM - donhuevo: right. just making sure you made the switch
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:28 PM - daniel871: Yeah.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:29 PM - donhuevo: wondering if there's a tool1 max temp floating around in the firmware somewhere
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:29 PM - daniel871: That's what I'm wondering, but even in that case it should fault out or something if given something beyond the defined maximum.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:30 PM - daniel871: Like, it should set the temp at the max and ignore the coded temp requested or something.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:30 PM - daniel871: If not halt the program altogether.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:31 PM - daniel871: And I don't know if jb would ever run into that issue since he always printed nothing but PLA and never had to get that hot.
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:31 PM - donhuevo: I'm shrugging
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:31 PM - donhuevo: HIPS is a hotter filament
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:32 PM - daniel871: Has to be firmware and not hardware at this point though, right? I'm running programs right now for single-color parts just fine with tool 0.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:33 PM - daniel871: I'm thinking I would have saved myself a lot of headache if I'd gotten a Cyclops instead of doing the dual V6 heads.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:33 PM - Bill Monroe: no, you would not
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:33 PM - donhuevo: I think you would have traded one headache for another
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:34 PM - Bill Monroe: try to go dual on a robo.. that's where you went wrong :)
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:34 PM - daniel871: Should've just been happy with a single bowden hercustruder, eh?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:34 PM - Mike Glass: hey Bill Travels are X 20”, Y 7”, Z 5”
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:35 PM - Bill Monroe: ya Mike! I got the low down from Jason
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:35 PM - Bill Monroe: it's a grizzly - home converted
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:35 PM - Mike Glass: yep
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:35 PM - Mike Glass: good equipment he used on though
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:35 PM - Bill Monroe: bu the thinks the servos are superior
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:36 PM - Mike Glass: no?
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:36 PM - Bill Monroe: and hasnt answered me yet on the encoder location
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:36 PM - daniel871: So what material has everyone doing the CES prints in?
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:36 PM - Bill Monroe: not necessarily
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:36 PM - daniel871: been doing
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:36 PM - Mike Glass: XT daniel
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:36 PM - Bill Monroe: if the encoders are on the back of the motors (which is common), they're no more accurate than steppers
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:37 PM - Mike Glass: I thought you said the opposite..
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:37 PM - daniel871: Saw something about no ABS.
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:37 PM - Bill Monroe: in fact, depending on the encoder resolution and possible gearing, they may be less
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:37 PM - daniel871: I have a spool of transparent XT
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:38 PM - Mike Glass: I wouldnt use xt if it were the last thing on earth..lol
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:38 PM - Mike Glass: Bill did you see the PM form Harry
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:39 PM - Bill Monroe: I did.. nice of them to do that
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:40 PM - Bill Monroe: Harry said they linked my feed to their facebook page, but I didnt see it
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:41 PM - Mike Glass: https://www.facebook.com/Robo3dPrinter

Aug 23, 2015 at 1:41 PM - jbigler1986: Decided to add drawers. 1 more. Then going to add false fronts
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:41 PM - Bill Monroe: ya, found the page but not the link
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:42 PM - Bill Monroe: Justin is getting his bench implants
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:42 PM - jbigler1986: Not bad for a noob
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:43 PM - Bill Monroe: ^^
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:48 PM - Bill Monroe: Tormach: Table size: 34" x 9.5" Travel: 18" x 9.5" x 16.25" Grizzly: Table Size: unknown Travel: 20" x 7.0" x 5.0"
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:48 PM - Bill Monroe: Tomach Wins
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:49 PM - Mike Glass: yep I love those Tormachs
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:50 PM - Bill Monroe: dont really need 16" of Z, but do need more than 5
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:50 PM - PeterkSharma: What does it mean for a stepper to be linear
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:51 PM - Bill Monroe: nothing, steppers are not linear
    Aug 23, 2015 at 1:51 PM - donhuevo: http://www.omc-stepperonline.com/linear-stepper-motors-c-3.html
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:51 PM - Bill Monroe: steppers (and other) motors can be used to drive a linear motion system.. but it's still a rotary motor
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:52 PM - Bill Monroe: linear motors exist.. but they're out of reach for regular folx
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:52 PM - Bill Monroe: like.. a rail gun for example
Aug 23, 2015 at 1:53 PM - Bill Monroe: the driver alone would make Bill Gates wince
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:02 PM - PeterkSharma: Oh gotcha. I was thinking it would be something not quite as obvious
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:03 PM - PeterkSharma: Don are you using those linear actuators?
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:05 PM - Mike Glass: this brown looks like beer bottle transparent, part 2 of robbie.
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:07 PM - MrEdaw: What temperature should my bed max out at on the Robo 3d r1 plus?
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:08 PM - MrEdaw: I've only been able to hit 59C when trying to bring it to 60C

Aug 23, 2015 at 2:11 PM - Mike Glass: think its good for 110c
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:11 PM - Mike Glass: might have some loose wires going into the ramps board
    Aug 23, 2015 at 2:14 PM - PeterkSharma: I've been at 80c no problem
    Aug 23, 2015 at 2:17 PM - Mike Glass: I rarely use over 75
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:17 PM - PeterkSharma: Yeah just wanted to see what it would do :)
    Aug 23, 2015 at 2:18 PM - donhuevo: I've gone to 90 for abs
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:25 PM - Mike Glass: how did abs squinty turn out?
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:32 PM - donhuevo: turned out good. I've probably printed 6 cups in red now
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:36 PM - donhuevo: here's a fresh pic for you... [IMG]
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:40 PM - Mike Glass: haha love it
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:40 PM - donhuevo: so I finally found an Igus LM8UU drop in replacement. matches OD and length... http://www.igus.com/wpck/3661/drylin_r_rjum_02
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:40 PM - donhuevo: waiting on a quote and free sample
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:41 PM - donhuevo: I'm assuming they're gonna want an arm and a leg given the pricing on the next sizes up
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:41 PM - donhuevo: going to need to bitch at the sales rep about that
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:48 PM - Mike Glass: where do you see the lengths at, I just see the bore.
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:53 PM - MrEdaw: I'm using some makerbot PLA (only thing available locally) and having some issues with it. Mainly feed issues. Any suggestions on how to improve feeding?
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:54 PM - donhuevo: mg, scroll to the bottom
    Aug 23, 2015 at 2:56 PM - Mike Glass: the d1 vs d2 vs B?
Aug 23, 2015 at 2:58 PM - Mike Glass: Edaw, what temp on the hot end?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 3:01 PM - donhuevo: d1, d2, B yes
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:04 PM - MrEdaw: 195 for blue and red. 215 for black. Blue was running fine at 195, but dripped during movements at any higher temp
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:09 PM - PeterkSharma: Anyone in Washington seeing these fires?
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:10 PM - PeterkSharma: The sun is blood red lol
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:13 PM - Mike Kelly: Just lots of smoke here in Denver
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:24 PM - Mike Glass: it was so bad here this week, there was ash falling.
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:24 PM - MrEdaw: What are the differences between the r1 and the r1 plus?
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:27 PM - Mike Glass: Plus has the new lead screws
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:29 PM - MrEdaw: So adding those would give me the equivalent to the plus model? What about the new feed system mentioned on the plus page?
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:30 PM - Mike Glass: that I havent seen yet. I have the new lead screws on mine, thats all that is offered for upgrades from the old model so far.
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:31 PM - PeterkSharma: Has anyone actually got the dual extruder to work and print?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 3:32 PM - Mike Glass: yea a few
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:33 PM - MrEdaw: I'm going to be ordering those. I am curious about the new feed system though. Once I solve my feed issue, I should be able to print steadily and reliably
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:34 PM - PeterkSharma: MG is the cyclops or dual v6 a better way to go?
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:35 PM - PeterkSharma: Edward have you check into Bowden or changing the filament holder?
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:36 PM - PeterkSharma: I have heard of people just using straws from the top of the extruder to the filament
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:36 PM - Mike Glass: there is also the chimera option as well, but I think dual V6 would give the best performance.
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:39 PM - PeterkSharma: Chimera has to mix the 2 filaments from what I hear. Can I use a Greg wade and Bowden or would I need to do
    Aug 23, 2015 at 3:40 PM - PeterkSharma: A swap on the current v6
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:42 PM - MrEdaw: I've had my printer for a week now, so I'm still exploring and learning a lot about the different options for upgrade before making a decision. How does the cyclops work on the r1?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 3:44 PM - PeterkSharma: it's just a dual extruder
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:44 PM - PeterkSharma: It's all programmed into the software you just print the mounting parts and enable it in the firmware
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:45 PM - PeterkSharma: In a perfect world that is
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:54 PM - Mike Glass: cyclops is one nozzle, chimera has 2 nozzles.
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:54 PM - MrEdaw: Which would you recommend Mike?
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:54 PM - Mike Glass: I would ask Mike K he has run both.
Aug 23, 2015 at 3:59 PM - PeterkSharma: Oops hahaha I always get it mixed up
    Aug 23, 2015 at 4:01 PM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:01 PM - jbigler1986: Just need to stain them now
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:08 PM - PeterkSharma: Hmmmm looking at the legends pack extruder
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:08 PM - PeterkSharma: Jb do you have to do Bowden for dual extruder?
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:08 PM - MrEdaw: Could an oiler for my PLA help to solve feeding issues with the Robo all metal hot end?
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:09 PM - PeterkSharma: I hear seasoning the filament is better
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:10 PM - jbigler1986: You can do dual direct drive. You will loose some x size though
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:10 PM - jbigler1986: And you would need to print slower too
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:10 PM - PeterkSharma: Is the Bowden swap worth it?
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:11 PM - Mike Glass: I wouldnt run an oiler, I would just season it every month or 50 hours of printing
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:12 PM - jbigler1986: Bowden swap is well worth it. It just takes a lot of tweaking and trial and error to get it figured out
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:12 PM - jbigler1986: I would use the hercustruder right off of the bat to safe a bunch of headache
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:13 PM - MrEdaw: Could that potentially solve the feed issue I'm having?
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:14 PM - jbigler1986: Are you running bowden or direct?
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:14 PM - Mike Glass: could be a number of things, clean the hobb bolt, make sure your filament is in spec.
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:16 PM - PeterkSharma: What are the parts for te Bowden swap?
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:20 PM - PeterkSharma: Jb what makes hecustruder less headache
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:23 PM - Mike Glass: V6 and like jb said a hercstruder, guess they are just easier then other ones he had tried.
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:24 PM - jbigler1986: Yep. It worked right away withought messing with it. All the others i tried were a headache
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:32 PM - PeterkSharma: Hmmm I will have to look into that
    Aug 23, 2015 at 4:33 PM - donhuevo: [IMG]
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:44 PM - Mike Glass: don did you make that plate?
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:45 PM - jbigler1986: So thats what under the tiko looks like
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:47 PM - Bill Monroe: back
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:48 PM - Bill Monroe: MG, that machine has the encoders on the servos so, not better than steppers
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:51 PM - donhuevo: I did not make that plate. It was my original robo plate
Aug 23, 2015 at 4:59 PM - Mike Kelly: looks like you counter bored your y motor
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:00 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm trying to figure out what's going on there
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:01 PM - donhuevo: the pulleys have a 5mm screw for a shaft
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:01 PM - donhuevo: the holes thru the plate are 9mm
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:02 PM - donhuevo: and I did have to counter the motor screw holes because my 3mm's weren't long enough
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:03 PM - Mike Kelly: ah
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:03 PM - PeterkSharma: MK, dual v6 or legend pack?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:04 PM - PeterkSharma: And what new hardware is needed for hercustruder?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:04 PM - Mike Glass: Thanks Bill.
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:04 PM - Mike Kelly: hmm
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:04 PM - Mike Glass: don why didnt you use the screw stretcher?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:05 PM - Mike Kelly: the cyclops is cool
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:05 PM - Mike Glass: easer to setup I take it.
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:06 PM - Mike Kelly: dual v6's take up more room but the leveling mechanism I use is much easier to use than the chimera
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:06 PM - PeterkSharma: What do you currently print with?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:07 PM - Mike Kelly: i've been using the chimera
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:07 PM - PeterkSharma: I can't decide! Lol
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:08 PM - Mike Kelly: i need to get around to cleaning my cyclops up
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:08 PM - PeterkSharma: Enjoying it?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:09 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah for the most part, dual extrusion has it's own swarm of issues
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:10 PM - Mike Kelly: i've finally fixed my spool holder arrangement so hopefully that fixes all the issues i've been having
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:11 PM - PeterkSharma: What do you mean?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:11 PM - PeterkSharma: I want to print circuits so I really am looking into how to do that
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:13 PM - Mike Glass: what causes ghosting in prints?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:13 PM - Mike Glass: guess maybe its called ringing
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:14 PM - jbigler1986: U have the lead screw upgrade right?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:14 PM - Mike Glass: yea, not ribbing
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:15 PM - Mike Glass: its like a slight ghosting of lettering in the print.

Aug 23, 2015 at 5:17 PM - Mike Kelly: peter what sort of circuits do you want to make
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:18 PM - JeffTheMess: evenin' folks
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:18 PM - PeterkSharma: Radio circuits

Aug 23, 2015 at 5:19 PM - PeterkSharma: Inductors and try vacuum tubes
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:19 PM - jbigler1986: Jeff, how is the v6 treating you?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:19 PM - PeterkSharma: I want to see if I can 3d print a tesla coil too
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:19 PM - JeffTheMess: pretty good so far,
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:19 PM - PeterkSharma: With abs and conductive filament
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:19 PM - Mike Kelly: hmmm
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:19 PM - Mike Kelly: ok
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:20 PM - Mike Kelly: is the conductive filament abs?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:21 PM - JeffTheMess: cant seem to put the part fan o right
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:22 PM - PeterkSharma: Ya
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:23 PM - PeterkSharma: Is there something better than conductive abs?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:23 PM - donhuevo: I just saw that banggod link mg. Now I'm gonna have nightmares
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:28 PM - Mike Kelly: i don't know much about conductives
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:28 PM - Mike Kelly: i'd go for the legends pack personally
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:31 PM - Mike Kelly: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:979113 this is interesting
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:31 PM - jbigler1986: They have that for the tiko?
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:32 PM - Mike Kelly: i believe the tiko is using a bondtech
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:34 PM - JeffTheMess: other than the fan size, can this work with the v6? http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:687819
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:34 PM - Mike Glass: I love that fan they have in the video MK
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:34 PM - jbigler1986: I dont get it
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:35 PM - jbigler1986: MK can you give jeff the dual fan v6 file
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:36 PM - JeffTheMess: oooo. Mike has it
Aug 23, 2015 at 5:37 PM - jbigler1986: Yeah. I habe it somewhere. Hold on

Aug 23, 2015 at 5:41 PM - JeffTheMess: thanks jb
    Aug 23, 2015 at 5:43 PM - jbigler1986: yw
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:03 PM - daniel871: Welp, XT is going for the CES part. Base layers are down on the PEI and everything holding steady on temps.
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:17 PM - jim3Dbot: Peter, just popping in...the conductive filiment ill not work for even PCB traces let alone inductors,,,too high of a resistance.......an interesting possibility would be for some sorta anti-static gasket....
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:18 PM - jim3Dbot: will not
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:18 PM - jim3Dbot: don't let conductive confuse you with current capibilities....
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:19 PM - jim3Dbot: god my spellin' sucks
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:20 PM - Mike Kelly: that's a crazy hot end jeff
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:23 PM - JeffTheMess: i miss my win7 already
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:23 PM - jbigler1986: Did you go to win 10?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:23 PM - JeffTheMess: yeah
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:24 PM - JeffTheMess: going win8.1 to 10 is great
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:24 PM - JeffTheMess: win7 to win10 alot of bugs
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:26 PM - JeffTheMess: the MK dual fans are for the stock robo part fan and the stock v6
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:27 PM - jbigler1986: Yep
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:28 PM - jbigler1986: Then you can add another parts fan to it as well
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:31 PM - PeterkSharma: Jim, have you seen the lower resistant stuff?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:34 PM - JeffTheMess: nice!
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:34 PM - JeffTheMess: suggested setting?
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:35 PM - PeterkSharma: Think the .6 ohm per cm graphene is to high resistance?
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:37 PM - Mike Glass: anybody seen this printer before? http://bukito3d.com/
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:40 PM - JeffTheMess: ok tell me tomorrow talk to you fellas in the AM
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:43 PM - Mike Glass: see ya
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:43 PM - PeterkSharma: Looks interesting 'MG
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:44 PM - Mike Glass: You can print with it unplugged.
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:45 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm not a fan of smartraps
    Aug 23, 2015 at 6:48 PM - Mike Kelly: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/po...nd-release-wind/1100-6429623/?ftag=YHRe6a6b70 ohmy
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:51 PM - MrEdaw: MG, how does the cyclops work out on the r1 for you? And advice on general filament feed upgrades for the r1?
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:52 PM - Mike Kelly: you mean me
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:52 PM - Mike Kelly: the cyclops works as well on the r1 as any other printer
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:52 PM - Mike Kelly: as far as filament feeding i think that the greg's wade extruder is just fine
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:52 PM - Mike Kelly: but if you want to go balls to the wall nothing beats the bondtech
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:53 PM - MrEdaw: I'm curious how it does the switching between filaments work on the cyclops?
Aug 23, 2015 at 6:53 PM - Mike Kelly: you need to purge filament out of the main channel using like a wipe and prime tower
Aug 23, 2015 at 7:00 PM - MrEdaw: Pretty smooth operation with Simplify3D?
Aug 23, 2015 at 7:01 PM - Mike Kelly: i haven't played with 3.0's new features for that
Aug 23, 2015 at 7:01 PM - Mike Kelly: i imagine it's basically the same as in cura
Aug 23, 2015 at 7:01 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm running the chimera right now since i need to clean out my cyclops
Aug 23, 2015 at 7:06 PM - MrEdaw: Do you run cura in matter control or another app? I haven't had success running slic3r or cura in matter control
Aug 23, 2015 at 7:07 PM - Mike Kelly: i use the standalone app
Aug 23, 2015 at 7:07 PM - Mike Kelly: i don't like MC, too buggy
    Aug 23, 2015 at 7:51 PM - jbigler1986: Nobody likes MC
Aug 23, 2015 at 7:55 PM - Mike Glass: MC Hammer?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 8:38 PM - PeterkSharma: where can i put a m565 in the gcode?
Aug 23, 2015 at 8:38 PM - PeterkSharma: if i manually edit it
Aug 23, 2015 at 8:41 PM - MrEdaw: Seems seasoning the hot end has helped tremendously. Thank you for the advice gentlemen.
Aug 23, 2015 at 8:42 PM - PeterkSharma: how die you deason it
Aug 23, 2015 at 8:42 PM - PeterkSharma: did you season it
    Aug 23, 2015 at 8:53 PM - Mike Kelly: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+Whosawhatsis/posts/NkqLzKJsdzU?cfem=1
Aug 23, 2015 at 8:53 PM - Mike Kelly: wow
Aug 23, 2015 at 8:57 PM - MrEdaw: A little canola oil on a short length of filament. Ran that through not on a project
Aug 23, 2015 at 9:00 PM - MrEdaw: That's a crazy looking printer. But if it works

Aug 23, 2015 at 9:06 PM - MrEdaw: One of the main reasons I purchased a printer is to build drones. I'm also learning the raspberry pi to control them
    Aug 23, 2015 at 9:08 PM - Mike Glass: 3DR printer or 3DR Drone?
Aug 23, 2015 at 9:35 PM - nonmindo: ya'll prolly seen this, but just in case....kinda neat...

Aug 23, 2015 at 9:37 PM - MrEdaw: I want to build my own drones. Won't pretend I know enough about printers to build one without some guidance though
    Aug 23, 2015 at 9:46 PM - PeterkSharma: What is 3dr?
    Aug 23, 2015 at 9:49 PM - PeterkSharma: Can i add a M565 directly to the g-code?
Aug 23, 2015 at 9:52 PM - Harry: hey peter
Aug 23, 2015 at 9:56 PM - nonmindo: M565 is a gcode command so yea...or do you mean for "set and forget" z-offset?
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:00 PM - nonmindo: Peter not sure what specifically you are looking to do with the M565, but this might be helpful...
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:00 PM - nonmindo: http://community.robo3d.com/index.php?threads/revamped-m565-z-offset-set-it-and-forget-it.4748/
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:02 PM - PeterkSharma: hey harry, first layer going down now
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:03 PM - PeterkSharma: thanks nonmindo!
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:12 PM - nonmindo: np! I haven't doe that yet with mine, but it looks like something I might wanna do if I plan to run Cura instead of MC(which i do)
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:12 PM - nonmindo: done*
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:13 PM - PeterkSharma: Cura is oretty nice
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:13 PM - PeterkSharma: they did an update that has everything preset for the ROBO
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:13 PM - PeterkSharma: I just got simplify 3d this morning. I hear a lot of good things about it
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:14 PM - nonmindo: I dont wanna drop any $$$ on software till i get the calibration and general use of the printer down.....when did the update come out? I was just looking at it thursday and there wasnt an update and still had to manually config the robo
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:15 PM - PeterkSharma: I'll send you thhe link I used
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:15 PM - PeterkSharma: what OS?
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:16 PM - nonmindo: thanks! their site still only show 15.06.03 which is what i have installed
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:16 PM - nonmindo: Windows 10 x64
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:16 PM - PeterkSharma: someone call this company. They need a new video editor. Or a new sound guy....
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:16 PM - PeterkSharma:
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:17 PM - PeterkSharma: download 15.04.2
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:17 PM - PeterkSharma: https://ultimaker.com/en/cura-software/list
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:18 PM - nonmindo: ouch....lol missed all their talking in that video....i dunno i htink the peachy is probably cooler than that...given its $100 and can upscale on the print area whenever
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:19 PM - nonmindo: yea, i have the 15.06.03 from that same spot, but the software doesnt have the option for robo3d, have to go to another site, plug in all the numbers and it creates a profile you put into the /resources/settings folder
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:19 PM - PeterkSharma: you dont want to use 15.06.3
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:19 PM - PeterkSharma: that was made just for the ultimaker.
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:19 PM - nonmindo: ohh i missed you comment
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:19 PM - nonmindo: lol
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:20 PM - nonmindo: i wasnt though, they give you the profiler on their github for using the 15.06.03
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:20 PM - nonmindo: it*
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:20 PM - PeterkSharma: ah, i just know some guy from cura was on the chatbox one day. thats what he told me to use
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:21 PM - PeterkSharma: 15.06.3 doesnt have the pronto plug in either so you can only print to sd from it
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:21 PM - nonmindo: probably because its easiest to use.... if you check their github they have the instructions for "other printers"
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:21 PM - nonmindo: ohh eeeww
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:21 PM - PeterkSharma: yeah
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:21 PM - nonmindo: might get 15.04.2 then per suggestion lol
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:21 PM - nonmindo: didnt 15.06 intro some nice new features tho
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:21 PM - nonmindo: or i could just say screw it and get Simplify lol
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:22 PM - PeterkSharma: Honestly
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:22 PM - PeterkSharma: here is what i believe happened.
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:23 PM - PeterkSharma: When the guy from Cura was on here he was saying that Ultimaker is the only company that pays cura
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:23 PM - nonmindo: well that makes sence, cura is mady by ultimaker lo
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:23 PM - PeterkSharma: so if you look at the release dates, I believe its the same exact program. One is just tweaked for te settings to be used for the Ultimaker.
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:23 PM - PeterkSharma: No Cura is Cura
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:23 PM - PeterkSharma: Ultimaker is Ultimaker.
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:24 PM - PeterkSharma: Ultimaker pays cura to make the program work with their machines
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:24 PM - nonmindo: i suppose kinda like how robo pays matter hackers
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:24 PM - nonmindo: for MC
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:24 PM - nonmindo: ok that makes sense, i've always been under the impression cura was inhouse built by ultimaker and made compat open source
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:24 PM - PeterkSharma: from everything I have heard and read on this place. Get Simplified 3D. You will save money in the end from failed prints and extra supports
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:25 PM - PeterkSharma: and you dont have to learn many different software
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:25 PM - nonmindo: its only what $140? which isnt that much compared to things like netfabb lol
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:26 PM - PeterkSharma: I havent seen netfabb
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:26 PM - nonmindo: S3d is all in one like MC right, slice and print from one app
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:26 PM - PeterkSharma: I downloaded S3D and for my windows pc and cracked it
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:26 PM - PeterkSharma: I wanted to test some prints on it before i bought it.
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:26 PM - nonmindo: i couldnt find a reliable source for doing that, i also wanted to test before buy
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:26 PM - nonmindo: hate when co's dont have demos
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:27 PM - PeterkSharma: I might have a copy of it still....
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:27 PM - PeterkSharma: but if you like it you should buy it :)
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:27 PM - nonmindo: was it newest version or older?
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:27 PM - nonmindo: I'll prolly buy it regardless, i heard great things bout the supports in it
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:27 PM - PeterkSharma: i would have to check on my pc, on my mac now
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:27 PM - PeterkSharma: hold on
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:28 PM - nonmindo: k
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:31 PM - PeterkSharma: There ya go man!
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:31 PM - PeterkSharma: enjoy
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:31 PM - nonmindo: you happen to know if it can "fix" stl files? thats one of the big things I wanted to get netfabb for, it can fix paths and geometry, luckily they have an online fixer for free through MS using netfabb on their cloud servers, but you have to upload the STL, let it fix, then re-download the STL, its super fast, but would love to take out another upload/download from the equation
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:31 PM - PeterkSharma: i know that works. If you are having trouble or cant get it to download, shoot me a message and I'll try and email you the fly
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:32 PM - PeterkSharma: file
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:32 PM - nonmindo: the fixed file was able to print 40m faster tho
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:32 PM - nonmindo: sounds good, thanks!
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:32 PM - PeterkSharma: yeah there are a few free programs that will fix STL's
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:32 PM - nonmindo: i have meshmixer but i couldnt figure out how to fix, if it can
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:32 PM - nonmindo: I'm hoping S3d can
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:32 PM - PeterkSharma: I cant remeber the name off the top of my head. But i believe I was just putting around on google or it was a free plug-in for google-sketchup
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:33 PM - PeterkSharma: Check out Sketch-up. Great tool and amazing plug-ins. They can really save some headache
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:34 PM - nonmindo: cool thanks!
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:34 PM - PeterkSharma: Also if you or anyone you know has a student email address you can get Auto-cad and all the bells and whistles for free
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:35 PM - nonmindo: im printing out of my bedroom right now, have a chunk of wood down on a cardboard box at the foot of my bed till i get the time to clean the office and move out my old computer....so i havent messed with nay of the modeling stuff yet because its so cumbersome using the bt keyboard/mouse combo i got, from my bed, 15ft from screen lol
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:36 PM - nonmindo: i dont have an .edu :( but i think one of my friends might.....I have 123D design and fusion 360 tho
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:39 PM - PeterkSharma: lol print yourself a desk yo!
    Aug 23, 2015 at 10:40 PM - PeterkSharma: http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/autocad
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:40 PM - PeterkSharma: here is the link for Auto cad if you can get that email
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:42 PM - nonmindo: oh I have a desk, but its got like 5 years of crap all over it from when i used to play PC games all the time..... that computer finally died out (lately only been used for file server), and now i got an alienware alpha which is soooooo much smaller...so gotta clean off my old 2 desks and move out the old compy, then move in new compy and robo
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:42 PM - nonmindo: thanks for the links!
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:44 PM - PeterkSharma: Hey man if your going to get rid of your computer, mail me your hdd magnets and power supply!
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:45 PM - PeterkSharma: those make great bench power supplies.
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:45 PM - nonmindo: the HDD's and PSU are all thats good out of it lol, putting the HDD's into external NAS and the PSU keeping it for furutre projects.....maybe if it will work for a plastic recycler
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:49 PM - PeterkSharma: keep all the fans too
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:49 PM - PeterkSharma: you will be able to swap some on your printer
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:49 PM - PeterkSharma: you can print the bracket for whatever fans you can pull out of there
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:53 PM - nonmindo: yea i have that stl for the variable fan brackets... i bought a couple fans for the robo, a 40mm high cfm for the bottom and a 60mm high cfm also for the bottom.....using Marquis's video for inspriation on that one
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:53 PM - TxKent: Marquis is a great dude.
Aug 23, 2015 at 10:54 PM - PeterkSharma: I would second the notion
