It will import the profile regardless. You can test it easy enough.
I suspect not much activity in this section in a while because things just work At least they have for me.
Lots of changes from the stock R1+ profile - have no idea what some of the settings even do, but will probably give the profile a few prints. Seems even the speeds are bumped up in a lot of areas.
Depends on which of the hundreds of profiles that one is that has been posted over the years lol. I imagine should be fine ? Give it a go and find out
My main concern was if anything changed between the major releases. I figured most things would import correctly, but have no idea what the program was like or what options existed back then.
Of course for all I know 3.1 and 4.0 could be months apart.
Was yours for a stock R1+ by chance?
3.1 and 4.0 are more like a year apart (at least). Simplfy does not do (nor really need to do) frequent updates.
They have added more features though, but not on a quick schedule. I started with early v2 and the profiles still work.
@Geof has an R1+ somewhere in his lair.
Pretty well, only upgrades were dual cooling fans and an E3dv6. All my profiles I use are unaffected by the 4.0 release.
Couple of them lol.
Been out of town so unable to test, but just looking at the preview of a cube is really odd compared to normal (This is Geofs profile settings).
Wondering if it would actually print out that way. Tried to find exactly which setting causes this.
Interesting. Not sure really, don’t know what if the many profiles you’ve got, what’s it look like printed ?
Won't know till next week. Just found it really odd how it previews, especially compared to my regular profile.
Does look odd, link me to the profile you downloaded ?
Will look at it tomorrow. Was a long time ago so can’t recall it but should be fine lol hard telling
I'm really curious to see if I'd get a funky cube
Finally had a change to print the cube and it did indeed print how it looked. Ugliest calibration cube I've ever made
Some models seem to preview fine, but others end up looking the same as this one. So odd.
Forgot to follow up, I printed and it was fine? Wierd. I didn't see what you saw in the preview either?
With that same profile on 4.0.1? It is so odd.
yep 4.0.1 here try this. I opened up that profile at work and saw some speed issues I didn't notice before. This may look better for you. Again- I removed my R1+ machines from the work shop so I dont have them here to test print with so your on your own to tune.
So, it turns out what makes the difference in the preview is the Advanced option "Only retract when crossing open spaces" - on yours it was disabled. Turned it back on and the preview finally went perfect. It seems your new profile has that enabled again (Also, shows being 4.0.0)
