So, I just checked out the reprapdiscount display. The one that Harry uses.

I'm debating on placing a large bulk order to get a per piece discount and then selling them for $49 with free shipping in the US. This would save anyone buying it the $20 shipping and save on shipping time from Hong Kong.

Looking at doing this for US buyers only. International will probably be cheaper to buy direct from the source.

    Anyone interested?

the problem i see with all of them is unless we get the exact specs from the robo team on how to add them they will have issues with anyone using them and having any problems on the printers as it could be associated with a firmware change. This issue must be cleared up.

Hey Jeff, I know they have a working version of firmware for this, as I'm using it. Let me ask them for a copy of it and I'll get it up and posted, with the exact steps, or maybe a "Tutorial" of how to install and set it up!

Hey Jeff, I have the Viki too, so am in the same position. Cambo told me there are still issues with it. I have yet to have tried it, and need to do that actually. I'm going to try it out, then send the issues over to Roy as he has been great helping get an official version.
If any of you have tried the Viki and know the issues please tell me so I can pass thAt on to Roy.

the only issue that I know about was having to do with the reset button on the VIKI getting it to do something similar to the stop print and reset the printer so it is ready to print again there is a way to do that via scrolling but the reset button should be able to be made to do the same thing
    Everything else worked fine

I'm going to buy 10 of the 35-smart-lcd. I'll have 9 available if anyone else is looking to buy a controller.

I have 7 of these left. It is the Reprapdiscount XXL controller. $69 with free shipping in the continental US, so PM me if interested.

It provides you with quite a bit of control free from a USB connection. All of the movement and temperature controls you have through repetier as well as the ability to easily access and adjust calibration settings. It also eliminates the possibility that you lose a print due to forgetting to change power settings, a windows (or whatever) update push, or some other interruption to the USB connection.

This does require a minor firmware update. The only thing that is required is for one line of code to be uncommented. It took me about 5 minutes.

The screen is huge. I plan on designing a custom Robo3D case that can be clipped to the bottom of the case or left free standing, but if you don't want to wait, there are a few on thingiverse.

of course! That's how you are free from the tether.
I'm not the world's greatest photographer, but you should still be able to see the SD card to the left side of the screen between the PCB and ribbon cable.

I still have a few of these left. If anyone is interested, let me know. I should probably set them up on my site or ebay, but would rather them just go to other forum members.
